This is the recap of Hotel Del Luna Korean Drama 2019 Episode 1. The samurai Man-Wol takes the carriage to walk through the field, and the carriage with a wood box. The bloody veil flies from Man-Wol and stays on the branch, and the veil is picked up by a group of soldiers.

Man-Wol arrives at the bar, and the shop owner keeps asking about Man-Wol. Man-Wol thinks the lady is chatty, and pours the wine on the wood box. The lady thinks Man-Wol killed someone, and Man-Wol wants to cut off her tongue.

The lady asks Man-Wol where she wants to go, and Man-Wol shares that she is looking for a guest house, which can consoles the souls of the dead. The lady thinks Man-Wol is looking for the Guest House of the Moon, but she shares that only the dead can go there.

The lady asks about the coffin, and Man-Wol says that they’re people who died because of her. She puts the sword on the lady’s neck, and the lady notes the word “Full Moon” on the sword. Man-Wol wants to take the duty for the people she killed, but the lady points out that Man-Wol doesn’t have the ability.

Man-Wol puts the sword on her neck, and wants to take her life. She tears up and thinks it’s only thing she can give, and the sword with her blood. The soldiers arrive. She lifts the full moon sword, and the soldiers disappear when they reach the sword.

The lady tells Man-Wol that the soldiers were killed by her, and Man-Wol takes the bloody veil. She wonders if she became an evil spirit and came to the Moon Guest House. The lady tells Man-Wol that she is a pitiful human who has fallen into self-pity, and asks her to pay for her sins.

Man-Wol tries to stab the lady but stabs the tree. She remembers the boy who was with her, and the tree absorbs her sword. The veil flies away from her, and Hotel Del Luna builds itself. The lady thinks Hotel Del Luna has found the new owner, and opens the coffin. She asks the dead to come with her, and she leaves with the carriage.

1998

The father Hyun-Mo regrets that he couldn’t buy his son Chan-Sung noodles because it was his birthday. He steps the cash the person left, and he is going to buy noodles with it. But Chan-Sung returns the cash to the person. The lady God Mago shows up and flatters Chan-Sung. But Hyun-Mo tells her to leave because he thinks she is a flower seller.

God Mago reminds Chan-Sung that he is with a bad luck, and Hyun-Mo promises to Chan-Sung that he will buy him the birthday present. He tells God Mago that they’re not going to buy flowers. But Chan-Sung thinks flowers are good, and tells Hyun-Mo to pluck them for him. He tells him not to do dangerous things for money.

Man-Wol wakes up, and the servant Joon-Seok thinks they will have many guests because it’s the full moon. She thinks the evil spirits can see the place from far away when the moon is bright. He offers to light up the hotel sign, but she tells him not to accept the person who died a gruesome death.

Hyun-Mo is chased by the police because he stole something, and he rolls down from the stairs. He arrives at the Hotel Del Luna, and asks the water ghost where she got so wet. He thinks she played in water, and asks if he needs to pay for sitting in the lobby. She doesn’t know and notes that he is hurt. He reveals that he rolled down the stairs, and we find out that Hyun-Mo has died.

The waiter Hyun-Joong tells Joon-Seok that they had a ghost soaked in water, and Joon-Seok asks to take water ghost to her room so that Man-Wol doesn’t see her. He sees Hyun-Mo walking by, and thinks he doesn’t belong to the hotel. He thinks Hyun-Mo will die if Man-Wol sees him, and intends to get Hyun-Mo out of there.

Hyun-Mo sees the gold snake, and touches it. The gold snake follows him, and Hyun-Mo arrives at the swimming pool. The door opens, and he finds out that it’s a beach inside. Seo-Hee asks him if he wants to swim, and asks about Hyun-Mo’s room number. Hyun-Mo panics to flee, and Sun-Bi greets him. Hyun-Mo arrives at the balcony and thinks the hotel is very tall.

Joon-Seok shares that the alive person got in the hotel, and Seo-Hee thinks Hyun-Mo will die if Man-Wol sees him. But Sun-Bi worries that Man-Wol will scold them, and remembers Man-Wol threatened to send them to afterlife if they make the mistake one more time.

Hyun-Joong thinks it’s his mistake, and holds Seo-Hee’s hand to beg her. But she lets his hands go as she doesn’t want to go to afterlife. Man-Wol notes that the snake disappeared, and thinks there must be a thief.

Hyun-Mo sees the flowers on the tree, and remembers Chan-Sung asked him to pluck flowers for him. Hyun-Mo plucks the flowers but gets blew away. Man-Wol shows up and steps on him. She blames him for stealing from her, but Hyun-Mo denies it. He is scared when the gold snake climbs out of his clothes, and he is on knees to her, saying that he deserves to die.

Man-Wol reminds Hyun-Mo that he is dying, and he finds out that his hands turn to blue. Just then, Hyun-Mo’s real body is treated by the doctor in the emergency room. Hyun-Mo asks Man-Wol to spare him and reveals his son is waiting for him. She doesn’t moved until sees the blue flowers.

Hyun-Mo reveals that he wanted to give the flowers to his son as the birthday present, but Man-Wol points out that flowers never bloom on the tree. She thinks the tree made flowers for Hyun-Mo, and thinks he wants her to spare Hyun-Mo. She agrees to spare him but wants Hyun-Mo to give his son to her. Hyun-Mo promises it, and she lets him leave. Hyun-Mo wakes up in the hospital, and Chan-Sung tears to tell the doctor that his father doesn’t die.

Hyun-Mo sees the water ghost’s portrait, and remembers she told him that it’s her first time to visit there. Chan-Sung asks Hyun-Mo if he knows the policewoman. Hyun-Mo denies but he thinks he saw her somewhere. The policewoman tells Man-Wol that her identity was discovered while she was working undercover and she was killed. Man-Wol promises the policewoman first class limousine. But the policewoman thinks she cannot leave like this.

Man-Wol asks the policewoman if she wants revenge, and reminds her that it will affect her next life. The policewoman wants to catch the man because he cannot be punished by human’s law. Man-Wol asks for worldly money, and the policewoman pulls the bullet out of her head and gives it to Man-Wol.

When the mayor Kyu-Ho is going to award someone, Man-Wol walks in and shoots him. Kyu-Ho sees the policewoman Detective Lee, and trips. The reporters takes photos of Kyu-Ho, and Detective Lee is satisfied to tear up.

Joon-Seok thinks Man-Wol trapped Kyu-Ho in a place that’s worse than jail, but she only cares about the stuff Detective Lee mentioned. Joon-Seok shows the diamonds he has found to Man-Wol, and she thinks she is going to be drinking a lot of champagne. But he reminds her that they need to pay off the debt and loans. She yells at him for the hotel management costs, but he points out that the loans are for her car and shopping.

Man-Wol thinks the guy that worked for her before knew how to work with money, but Joon-Seok mentions she was starving and completely broke because of another man. She says that she gets angry while thinking of him, and Joon-Seok offers to pay for 20 years worth of child expenses with some diamonds. Man-Wol agrees.

Hyun-Mo gets 100,000 dollars and thinks he sold his son off. He intends to return the money and call off the deal. Man-Wol drives by and sees Chan-Sung when Hyun-Mo goes to look for the hotel. Man-Wol tells Joon-Seok to send Chan-Sung flowers every birthday, so Chan-Sung won’t forget the deal.

2019

Chan-Sung walks in the hotel, and the president asks him why he accepts her offer since he rejected it last year. He reveals that he promised to his father that he won’t come back to Korea for 20 years, and he wanted to avoid anything unfortunate. He asks her about Hotel Del Luna, and she doesn’t know it.

The man tells Chan-Sung that his birthday present arrived, He reveals it’s flowers, and Chan-Sung thinks it’s evening primrose. He finds the card on the flowers, and it tells him that he is hired. Chan-Sung throws the flowers into the trash can and takes the subway. He sees Man-Wol taking the flowers he has thrown, and asks her if she is the one who bought him.

Man-Wol admits it and asks him if she threw away her flowers each time. He says that he was scared when she’d come for him, and she mentions he kept moving from one country to another. He says that he didn’t expect her to really come for him and thought everything was over last year. She asks him to work for her, and he asks her if she will kill him if he rejects her offer.

Man-Wol thinks she should send beheaded birds instead of flowers to Chan-Sung, and blows to his eyes. She tells him that it’s a special present. He takes the flowers and tells her that he didn’t intend to throw away her flowers, and he gets off the subway. He thinks she wants him to become her toy, and remembers his father told him to run away.

Chan-Sung packs his stuff and decides to run away, but he sees the ghost. Man-Wol laughs when she thinks that Chan-Sung is opening his eyes to a whole new world. Joon-Seok says that Chan-Sung will panic for seeing dead, and Man-Wol thinks Chan-Sung needs to see it because he will for at Hotel Del Luna. But Joon-Seok reminds Man-Wol that Chan-Sung will be in danger. She thinks she cannot let Chan-Sung die.

Chan-Sung reminds the woman in sunglasses that he is before her to take cab, but she takes off her sunglasses and tells him that she cannot see him. He is scared to flee, but the female ghost follows him. Chan-Sung trips when the female ghost approaches him. He tells her not to take off her sunglasses, and Man-Wol blocks his mouth, throwing something to make the female ghost leave.

Man-Wol tells Chan-Sung that she gave him the present dead soul, and intends to visit the restaurant. He asks her if the dead will kill him, and she shares that the dead cannot kill living, unless his feeble heart fails from being startled. He asks her to turn his eyes back to normal, but she warns him that his eyes will remain closed forever if the restaurant is closed.

Man-Wol takes photos of foods at the restaurant, and tells him that he will die if he doesn’t eat something. Kyu-Ho becomes a tramp and recognizes Man-Wol. Man-Wol reminds Chan-Sung that not all of the souls are scary, and points at the kid who is eating. Chan-Sung asks Man-Wol what they do there, and she shares that some of them are obsessed with something they liked.

Chan-Sung asks Man-Wol why she did it on him, and she tells him to visit Hotel Del Luna. He asks her if she is dead, but she denies. So he asks her if she will die one day, and she thinks he wants to kill her. She asks him to bite the dumplings and promises to give him a chance. But he says that he just wishes her to disappear.

Man-Wol walks Chan-Sung and asks him to get her a drink. Kyu-Ho shows up and asks Man-Wol if she shot him. She thinks he becomes a wreck, and he rages to stab her. Chan-Sung returns and asks Man-Wol if she got stabbed. She thinks humans never think about their wrongs and only blame others, and reveals she ever took a knife. She tells him to run away and promises to disappear from his sight.

Chan-Sung runs away but returns with a cart. He tells Man-Wol to get on his cart, but she gets up and pulls out the knife. She thinks he is frail, and he wants to leave. But she stops him and kills Kyu-Ho with his knife. Man-Wol tells Chan-Sung that she will kill him if he wants to run away.
