The Legend of Hao Lan Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 1

The carriage runs across the street and arrives outside the city. Li Hao Lan and her maid are in the carriage, and she goes to see her love Gongzi Jiao. Yu Sikou wants to marry Hao Lan because she is a beauty. Li He has to agree it since Yu Sikou helped him get promoted.
Hao Lan’s stepsister Xiu Yu tells the message to Hao Lan, but Hao Lan doesn’t agree the marriage. So Xiu Yu tells Hao Lan to write letter to Gongzi Jiao, and they appoint to meet at ten miles pavilion. But when Hao Lan arrives at ten miles pavilion, her stepmother Gao Min is waiting for her.
Gao Min blames Hao Lan for running away from home with the man, and takes out the letter. Yan Yun tries to explain it for Hao Lan, but Gao Min asks the servants to kill her and throw Hao Lan into river. The fisherman sees it and saves Hao Lan.
Hao Lan wants to visit her mother, so she dresses up to be a servant. She hears Gao Min orders to throw her mother into well. Hao Lan sees her mother dying in front of her, and is sad. Gao Min blames Hao Lan for involving her mother, but Hao Lan wants to tell the truth to her father.
Gao Min asks her follower to arrest Hao Lan. Hao Lan sees Gongzi Jiao marrying Xiu Yu. She wants to yell, but her mouth is blocked by cloth.
Guo Wei house is stolen, and the assassin hurt Guo Wei. The soldiers chases the assassin, but he gets in the brothel. The soldiers break into a room, where businessman Lu Buwei is staying with the prostitute. The soldiers look down on businessman, so they want to arrest Lu Buwei. But the prostitute is defense for him, the soldiers have to leave.
Lu Buwei gives a bag of silver to the prostitute as compensation. Because he is the assassin, and he tied up the whoremaster. Lu Buwei rides the carriage and arrives at the market with Si Tu. Lu Buwei offers 1,000 gold to buy the box, but gives up the pearl.
Prime minister Zhao Sheng doesn’t know what Lu Buwei’s intention, so he asks him about it. Lu Buwei claims the box is sculptured by expensive wood, and the seller returns the pearl to Lu Buwei. Zhao Sheng is interested in Lu Buwei, and appoints to meet up.
Lu Buwei is pleased, and the drama is directed by him. He steals the pearl and buys the pearl is to catch Zhao Sheng’s attention, so he will get promoted.
When Lu Buwei is going to leave, he sees the seller is selling the slaves. Lu Buwei is interested in the slave Li Hao Lan who has a scar on her face. The seller tries to stop Lu Buwei because the carriage rolled over, and Hao Lan’s face destroyed.
Lu Buwei buys her. Because he gets the title of the richest man in the world, and the beauty Hao Lan. He wipes the fake scar on her face when they get in the carriage. He asks Si Tu to look into Hao Lan, and takes her home.
Hao Lan keeps tearing up, and doesn’t want to eat. She promises any condition if he can achieve the wish for her. Because she has something to ask Gongzi Jiao.
Lu Buwei takes Hao Lan to wait Gongzi Jiao in the shop, and Gongzi Jiao reveals he never receives the letter which is handed over by Xiu Yu. Hao Lan thinks Gao Min united Xiu Yu to frame her, so she asks Gongzi Jiao to return the justice for her mother.
But he scolds her when Xiu Yu shows up. Xiu Yu pretends to be nice to Hao Lan. Hao Lan knows their real faces.
Hao Lan tries to jump off river to take her life, but Lu Buwei saves her. He brings her to the peak and thinks she is a loser. He motivates her to be the heroine who controls the world.
Xiu Yu returns home and asks her mother to get rid of Hao Lan. But Gao Min wants Hao Lan to taste the feeling that living is no better than dying.
The Legend of Hao Lan Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 2
Hao Lan is arrested by Xiu Yu’s followers, when she is going to go downhill. She is forced to the cliff, but Lu Buwei saves her. Hao Lan thinks he ran into the killers because there is only one way to go downhill.
His intention is to make her thank him. Hao Lan is scared because he only knows to get benefits. Lu Buwei respects her intelligence, and tells her not to be a pitiful person but a phoenix. But she ignores him.
Hao Lan sees an old lady getting hit at street, and recognizes that she is Yan Yun’s mother. She remembers Yan Yun got killed, and decides to take care the old lady as her mother. The old lady gets sick, Hao Lan has to sell her jewelry to pay the medicine. Lu Buwei doesn’t want to lose such an outstanding partner, so he asks Si Tu to track her. He finds she is taking care of a blind old lady in the grass house.
Xiu Yu sees Hao Lan is selling grass shoes at the street when she is drinking with the ladies. One of the ladies hurts Hao Lan with her wine glass. Hao Lan sneers at Xiu Yu and leaves when Xiu Yu pretends to be nice to her.
Yu Sikou’s son Yu Hao runs into Hao Lan, and wants to touch her. She takes out the scissors and threatens him with death. He is scared to leave. Xiu Yu promises to take Hao Lan to her mom’s grave.
Xiu Yu thinks Hao Lan doesn’t have sincerity, and asks her to be on her knees. Hao Lan has to follow Xiu Yu’s order, and begs her. But Xiu Yu is furious when seeing the jade pendant around Hao Lan’s neck. Because the jade pendant was given by their grandmother.
Xiu Yu thinks Hao Lan took everything which belong to her, and lies that her mom was buried in the cemetery of Li family. But the worker tells Hao Lan that her mom was driven away before she got buried.
So Hao Lan has to look for her mom at the unmarked burial mounds, and sees Li He is visiting her mom. He tears up because he didn’t expect she is still alive. He explains that he has to give Yu Sikou an answer for family’s reputation.
She scolds her father for sticking the power of Gao family, and depriving she and her mom’s titles. She swears to take revenge her mom, and never lowers her head to anyone. Li He is furious to leave.
Yu Hao is furious to release his temper on the servant, and the servant Hao Lan’s whereabouts. Hao Lan runs into beggar who is hit at street. She is intention to give him the money. But the prince Yi Ren gives it first.
She is hit by the seller, Yi Ren help her and holds umbrella for her. But General Gong Sun reminds Yi Ren the party, and Hao Lan leaves.
The king of Zhao asks the dancer to marry Yi Ren in the party. But she rejects it because he is a hostage. The King of Qing wants to marry prince Zi Xi to princess Ya. Zhao Sheng tells King of Zhao to accept the marriage because it may provoke the relationship of Qing family.
Yu Hao visits the grass house in the evening. The old lady drops the oil lamp, and the grass house is burnt. Hao Lan sees the old lady dying in the flame, and watch her body with sadness.
Lu Buwei persuades Hao Lan to return home with him. She agrees it. Yi Ren is playing zither in the woods. Princess Ya visits him, but he doesn’t want to see her. So she is furious to point his throat with sword.
