This is the recap for The Love Equations: Episode 1. Zhou Xiao is writing a novel about legal medical expert. Mom disturbs her and asks if she wants to take canned fish. Zhou Xiao says yes and thinks Mom is the best person in the world.

Dad shows up and asks Zhou Xiao what’s dad. She says that the kid is a treasure when she has dad. Dad gives cashes to Zhou Xiao, but she prefers wechat payment.
Fan Zhou takes a look at something with microscope, and he finds a problem. The colleague goes to check the previous experimental result. The girl tells Fan Zhou not to take off his mask, and reveals his looks stuns her.
The colleague reads Zhou Xiao’s novel. It says that the victim isn’t dead of drowning, and the murderer wants to confuse people so that he makes the false appearance rinsed to shore by water. But he doesn’t wear clothes for victim after he violated her, and he’s discovered. He has to run away from the scene of crime.
Fan Zhou points out that the person is rinsed by water are naked, and water taking off clothes is faster than human. The girl thinks Zhou Xiao is serious to talk nonsense, and she heard that Zhou Xiao’s admitted to the department of Chinese language and literature.
The colleague tells the girl Guo Guo not to use the laptop of lab to read the no nutrition novel. But Guo Guo points out that Professor Hu read with her.
Ya Si calls Zhou Xiao and blames her for not picking him up at the airport, but she tells him that he is luck as she picks up his phone.
Zhou Xiao asks Ya Si for her gift, and he thinks she should ask about his game if she has conscience. She asks him about his ABC game, and he fixes it that it’s ACM international design procedure game. He tells her to put his honor in her mind.
Zhou Xiao agrees to it and asks Ya Si if he is at home. He stands in front of the door, and asks her to listen to where he is. Zhou Xiao opens the door and asks Ya Si for the gift. She blames him for not bringing gift to her since he went abroad.
Ya Si tells Zhou Xiao that he brought the snacks russians like most, and he puts the chewing gum on her hand. Zhou Xiao tells Ya Si that she will end relations with him, and throws the chewing gum to him.
Zhou Xiao tells Ya Si that the net friend praises her, but she finds out the net friend Guo Guo thinks what she wrote without any logic. Ya Si thinks Zhou Xiao is optimistic and she only listens to what she wants to listen.
Zhou Xiao tells Ya Si not to stay at her room, and he explains that he didn’t take key. He asks her to take him since her dad will send her to school. She agrees to it after seeing her luggage.
Professor Hu calls Fan Zhou and asks him where he is. Fan Zhou says that he is picking up freshman at high-speed rail station. Professor Hu thinks Fan Zhou has changed, and it was a right choice to get Fan Zhou to take part in the campaign of student union.
Fan Zhou mentions Professor Hu threatened not to get him to be his assistant if Fan Zhou doesn’t take the position of president. Professor Hu says that people have bias on them, and they will think there is a problem in Fan Zhou’s character if he’s unsocial.
Professor Hu tells Fan Zhou to take the report for him. The colleague tells Fan Zhou that the freshman Zhou Xian doesn’t pick up his phone, and Fan Zhou contacts Zhou Xiao.
Fan Zhou calls Zhou Xiao and asks her where she is. She is shocked that she missed her stop, and he tells her to buy a return ticket.
Zhou Xiao finds Fan Zhou and thinks she was very smart to use her computer to charge her phone. But he scolds her that the pick up time was an hour ago. She wants to treat him something to apologize. He rejects it, and she lends some money from him to buy breakfast.
The driver tells Zhou Xiao to hurry up, and she explains that she brought too many world classics. But Fan Zhou finds out that they’re just comic books.
Zhou Xiao intends to give milk tea to Fan Zhou, but he rejects it. She mentions what her mom told her to give out something if the person helped her. The chair is broken, and Fan Zhou takes a look at Zhou Xiao’s face.
Mom complains to Dad that Zhou Xiao fled alone, and Ya Si thinks Mom is right. So Mom gives a pig feet to Ya Si. She tries to give the red envelope to him, and he says that his mom didn’t give red envelope to Zhou Xiao. She explains that it’s toothpick.
Fan Zhou notes that Zhou Xiao is writing novel, and thinks she’s bias to forensic. She laughs and thinks forensic is perfect for a perverted killer role. He gets angry and thinks the person who learns Chinese isn’t suitable for writing novels.
Mom breaks into the dormitory and asks the roommate about Zhou Xiao’s bed. But the roommate tells her that Zhou Xiao didn’t arrive. Ya Si is location of Zhou Xiao, and finds out that she isn’t in the school. Dad tells Ya Si to take Zhou Xiao’s head while helping her carry luggage.
Fan Zhou gives the luggage to Zhou Xiao, and he leaves. Ya Si finds Zhou Xiao and tells her to call Mom. Zhou Xiao tells Mom that she is going to go register, and promises to get her scolding when she returns.
Ya Si complains that Zhou Xiao only knows to type when other girls know to hold umbrellas. He wishes to share an umbrella with her one day. Zhou Xiao takes out the umbrella but she refuses to share it with Ya Si.
Zhou Xiao’s hair is stuck in the umbrella, and she asks Fan Zhou to take it off. He does it. Fan Zhou’s wiping his hands, and the girls recognize him. Zhou Xiao knows that Fan Zhou comes from forensic department, and thinks he will be anatomy of her.
Tao Ling blames Zhou Xiao for not picking up her phone, and Zhou Xiao tells Tao Ling to stand in front of her. Zhou Xiao cries while reading the book, and she laughs when she tells Tao Ling about of joke of ringtone. The girl wonders why Fan Zhou keeps staring at Zhou Xiao.
Zhu Lu gets angry after Zhou Xiao’s dad wetted her painting, and she glares at Zhou Xiao. Zhou Xiao sees off her parents, and Mom reminds Zhou Xiao to be care of Zhu Lu as she thinks Zhu Lu isn’t easy to get along.
The man asks Zhou Xiao for her wechat, and she pretends to be a Japanese. The roommate is surprised that Zhou Xiao’s Japanese is so good. Zhou Xiao says something about digging potatoes in Chinese.
Zhou Xiao asks Luo Wei for her sweet potato chips, but Tao Ling thinks Zhou Xiao shouldn’t rob the chips as she has an income. Tiao Ling heard that writing novels can make a lot of money, but Zhou Xiao reveals she only earned 82 yuan in two months. Luo Wei asks Zhou Xiao what kind of novels she is writing. Zhou Xiao says that it’s forensic, and she wants to look into forensic department.
Zhou Xiao sneaks into the lab, and Fan Zhou shows up with a skull. She mistakes Fan Zhou as a killer, and begs him to let her go. But she recognizes him then.
Zhou Xiao learns that Fan Zhou just moved the teaching material, and she thought she got into a crime scene. Fan Zhou takes away the skull and closes the door of the lab.
