Idol I: Episode 5 Recap

The car is out of control on the street when Se-Na drives the car in Idol I episode 5. The car hits a trash can. Ra-Ik protects his lawyer.

Se-Na has a dream. Se-Na’s father finds Se-Na at home. He notices that she’s not happy. He explains it to her that her mother scolded her because she broke the pot. She claims that she didn’t do that. He points at the itching tree above her. He reveals the leaves of the tree would shake if someone lied. He thinks the tree is honest like her. She tries to confess it to him. But he disappears. Se-Na walks out of the house. She looks for her father in the forest. She cries.

Se-Na wakes up in the ward at the hospital. She finds out that Ra-Ik is grabbing her hand. Chung-Jae shows up. He wonders if Se-Na was hurt. Ra-Ik reveals Se-Na has a broken arm. It promotes Chung-Jae to ask Ra-Ik what happened. Ra-Ik reveals the car was out of control. Se-Na notices that Ra-Ik’s head was hurt. She tries to get up from the bed. But her arm is in pain. Ra-Ik leaves the ward for going to invite the doctor.

Chung-Jae wonders why Se-Na had an accident. He mentions she has been fine in the past ten years. She doesn’t know it. She reveals the steer wheel failed suddenly. He asks her about the engine RPM when she started the car. She doesn’t know it as well. Because Ra-Ik got in the car first. Se-Na asks Chung-Jae to go to look into the cause of the accident. She suspects that someone touched her car.

Ra-Ik goes to the nurse station. He asks the nurse to arrange a doctor for Se-Na. But he sees Reporter Baek who’s looking for him. He flees. Ra-Ik returns to the ward. He reports it to Se-Na that many reporters came to the hospital. Se-Na tells the nurse that she wants to be discharged from the hospital. The nurse agrees. But she asks Se-Na to pay the bill. Se-Na and Ra-Ik walk out of the hospital. They take a taxi to leave. It’s too late after the reporters found them.

In Prosecutors’ Office, Byung-Gyun is scolded by the chief prosecutor. The chief prosecutor thinks Byung-Gyun didn’t do a good job. He mentions Byung-Gyun said that Ra-Ik is the murderer. Byung-Gyun promises that he will find the evidence soon. The chief prosecutor complains it to Byung-Gyun that Hye-Joo’s family blamed them. He asks him to keep a low profile. He reminds him that he used his father for getting the case. He asks him to go to apologize if he cannot find the evidence.

Byung-Gyun walks out of the chief prosecutor’s office. He remembers Se-Na wished he becomes a prosecutor so that she can fix everything in front of him. Byung-Gyun returns to his office. The cop Nam-Sik reports it to his boss that Jae-Hee wasn’t at the hospital. He thinks what Hye-Joo said is right. He found out that the guy was in the dormitory after he checked the CCTV. Byung-Gyun asks Nam-Sik to go to look into Jae-Hee. But he won’t forgive Ra-Ik. Because he wants to crush the two.

Ra-Ik protects Se-Na in the taxi when the driver slams on the brakes. He asks the driver to slow down. The taxi stops. Se-Na and Ra-Ik get off the taxi. Se-Na cannot walk suddenly. Ra-Ik worries that the girl’s leg was hurt as well when he checks her leg. She denies it. She reveals she just got a cramp. He picks her up. She’s furious to ask him what he’s doing. He suggests that she shouldn’t struggle. Because she will become heavier if she does so. But she yells at him when she thinks he will have a herniated disc. He wonders how does she know it. She explains it to him that it’s a popular disease. She claims that she has the disease as well.

Ra-Ik carries Se-Na home. He puts her on a chair. He’s tired. She mentions what she told him to drop her. He points out that she was hurt. He couldn’t ignore a wounded person. He will take care of everything before she recovers.

Jong-Chul visits Mr. Hong. He apologizes to him for what his son did. Mr. Hong mentions his daughter was questioned in Prosecutors’ Office and she sat there for six hours. He complains it to Jong-Chul that he tried his best to suppress the news. Jong-Chul explains it to Mr. Hong that he wouldn’t let Hye-Joo suffer if he knew Hye-Joo is his daughter. Mr. Hong mentions Jong-Chul almost caught the culprit. He thinks he shouldn’t have made the mistake. Jong-Chul points out that they need the key evidence. Mr. Hong mentions Jong-Chul didn’t do the job in such a way. He thinks Jong-Chul’s son lacked decisiveness. Jong-Chul explains it to Mr. Hong that his son is too young. He asks Mr. Hong to give his son some time. But Mr. Hong worries about the trouble if they don’t take action. He persuades Jong-Chul to deal with it in person.

Hye-Joo returns to her office. She’s told that Ra-Ik was discharged from the hospital. But her secretary doesn’t know where the guy is. She suspects that her secretary concealed something from her. He denies it. He reminds her that the chairman will get angry if the chairman knows she’s looking for Ra-Ik. She claims that she will take care of it. She asks him to find Ra-Ik as soon as possible.

Ra-Ik is at Se-Na’s house. He finds the milk from the fridge. The sound comes from Se-Na’s room. Ra-Ik walks to the room. He knocks at the door. He asks the lawyer if she’s fine. But she doesn’t give him the answer. She opens the door. She claims that she’s fine. But he heard that something fell on the floor.

Se-Na tries to dry her hair with the hair dryer. But Ra-Ik takes her to enjoy the wind of the fan. He persuades her not to take a shower. He worries that her arm will be hurt again. She rejects it. She thinks she will be smelly if she doesn’t clean herself. He reminds her that she just washed her hair in the morning. So it won’t be smelly. Ra-Ik remembers Byung-Gyun called Se-Na smelly Se-Na. He wonders if Smelly Se-Na is Se-Na’s nickname. She denies it. He thinks she lied to him. Because he has heard that the guy called her the name. She explains it to him that the names sound very similar. She isn’t really smelly. She thinks she might be smelly because everyone calls her the name.

Ra-Ik is furious to blame Byung-Gyun. It makes Se-Na laugh. He stares at her face. He avoids her eyes when she takes a look at him. He makes an excuse that he’s hungry. He runs to the fridge. Ra-Ik has dinner with Se-Na. He asks her to talk to him. Because he’s not transparent. She realizes that she shouldn’t review the materials. She puts it aside. She’s told that he wants to be close to her. He sees that she likes him like those fans. He brings up that the milk and the black coffee were endorsed by him. She pretends that she just found it out. But he knows it wasn’t a coincidence. He guesses she bought those things because the sales were strong. She admits it even if she’s flustered. He reveals he doesn’t drink milk because of lactose tolerance. He thinks it’s reasonable that she doesn’t know the truth. He mentions he’s a product that shouldn’t be opened. He thinks he’s over if people know that he tastes awful.

Se-Na thinks Ra-Ik shouldn’t badmouth himself. She reminds him that many people like him. But he acts as if he looks down on those people. She figures it out that he hates himself. So he thinks he doesn’t deserve to be loved. He agrees with what she said. But he tells her that she was wrong. Because he has never been loved. He thinks people love is the Golden Boy Ra-Ik. He reveals he doesn’t know how to give love and accept love. He only knows to complain. Woo-Seong understood the point. But he’s gone. Ra-Ik feels relieved after knowing Se-Na doesn’t like him at all. But he doesn’t know his lawyer lied to him. Ra-Ik believes that he won’t let Se-Na down forever.

Chung-Jae goes to the car repair shop. He’s told that the car had an accident because the tire blew out. Someone tried to puncture the tire. But he failed. Chung-Jae learns that someone intended to do it after he saw the hole. He visits Se-Na. He reports it to her. He has told it to the police. But those guys were too slow. So he’s looking into the case in person. He brings up that Se-Na’s dashcam was closed. Se-Na remembers she did it after Ra-Ik asked her to do so.

Ra-Ik wakes up in the morning. He sees Chung-Jae with Se-Na outside his room. Chung-Jae suspects that Ra-Ik punctured the tire for proving his innocence. He mentions the guy got benefits from the accident. He thinks Ra-Ik can claim that someone wants to kill him. But Se-Na doesn’t believe that Ra-Ik would risk his life. Chung-Jae brings up that Ra-Ik might live in the prison all his life. He thinks Ra-Ik can do anything since Ra-Ik murdered a person. But Se-Na trusts Ra-Ik. She knows the guy saved her in the car. She reminds Chung-Jae the first time she saw him. She defended him after he stole twice. She claimed that she won’t help him the third time. He’s not happy with it after she brought up his past. She reveals she didn’t want to defend him when he called her the third time. But he said that he didn’t do that. He begged her to trust him one time. Se-Na thinks Chung-Jae should know the feelings that being trusted. She claims that she will trust her client til the end.

Jae-Hee is taken to the Prosecutors’ Office. He claims that he was hospitalized after Ra-Ik beat him. But Byung-Gyun shows the guy the CCTV. He knows he returned to the dormitory after he left the hospital. He thinks he lied. He reminds him that he will be a suspect if he doesn’t confess. Jae-Hee is very excited. He thinks Ra-Ik has a reason to kill Woo-Seong.

Han-Gu reports to Bo-Sang in the office in the evening that he got the lawyer to stop Jae-Hee. But Bo-Sang is only interested in how much Jae-Hee knows. Han-Gu believes that the guy doesn’t know Woo-Seong’s case.

The next day, Ra-Ik unwraps the bandage for Se-Na at home. She’s not in pain when she moves her arm. He’s very happy. He mentions he doesn’t have to take care of her. Chung-Jae visits Se-Na. Se-Na goes out with Chung-Jae. She persuades him not to read detective fiction. Ra-Ik chases Se-Na out of the house. He wants to go with her. She persuades him to stay at home. But Chung-Jae thinks Ra-Ik should know who caused the accident.

Se-Na and Ra-Ik go to the police station. Se-Na recognizes Ra-Ik’s stalkers immediately. Ra-Ik remembers the two girl threatened to ruin him. He learns that they broke the tire for Woo-Seong. He forgives them when Se-Na intends to sue the two.

Se-Na walks out of the police station with Ra-Ik. She doesn’t understand why he did it. He reveals he did it for her. Se-Na gets a call from Ye-Sol. Ra-Ik goes to the law firm with Se-Na. Se-Na walks into the meeting room to meet the lawyer and Gwang-Soo. The lawyer persuades Se-Na to give up the case. Gwang-Soo reveals the prosecutor began to take action because of Jae-Hee’s words. But Se-Na refuses to give up the case. She claims that she won’t get into the law firm again before the case is closed.

Se-Na returns to her office. Ra-Ik is waiting for her. He’s told that he needs to confront Jae-Hee. Because the guy said something. Ra-Ik cannot figure out what Jae-Hee would say. Se-Na persuades him to go to see Jae-Hee’s friend.

Ra-Ik and Se-Na visit Young-Bin. They ask the guy if Jae-Hee said something. Young-Bin claims that he doesn’t know. But Ra-Ik believes that Young-Bin knows it. Because Young-Bin lied for Jae-Hee ever. Se-Na persuades Young-Bin to be honest to them. So they will know the truth. Young-Bin reveals Jae-Hee left the hospital after he read the comments of the fans. He doesn’t know where Jae-Hee went that night. Bo-Sang asked him to tell a lie that Jae-Hee was at the hospital. Ra-Ik blames Young-Bin for not telling it to him early. He’s furious to leave the dormitory.

Se-Na walks Ra-Ik outside the dormitory. Se-Na mentions Young-Bin concealed the truth. But Ra-Ik takes Young-Bin’s side. He thinks he would do the same thing if he was Young-Bin. He mentions Young-Bin and Jae-Hee were good friends. Se-Na wants to know the reason why Ra-Ik didn’t get along well with Jae-Hee. He reveals he hurt Jae-Hee deeply.

It flashes back. Woo-Seong invites Jae-Hee to practice with them. But Jae-Hee is furious to reject it. He complains it to the golden boys that his part was deleted. Ra-Ik scolds Jae-Hee. He asks him to quit. Jae-Hee leaves the rehearsal room.

At present, Ra-Ik and Se-Na are at home. Ra-Ik thinks he was mean. He thought he can make it as long as he does so. He realizes that he has so many enemies. He thinks Se-Na shouldn’t trust him. But she tells him that she trusts him. She takes him to see the itching tree. She reveals the tree knows it if someone lies. She mistook that it’s a bad thing when the tree is peeling. But she was told that it’s the process of growing up.

Ra-Ik confirms that he didn’t kill Woo-Seong after the tree gave him the answer. Hye-Joo shows up. She realizes that Se-Na is living with Ra-Ik. She scolds Se-Na. She holds Ra-Ik’s hand. She asks him to leave with her. But he rejects it. He holds Se-Na’s hand. He claims that he should stay there.
