Idol I: Episode 8 Recap

Ra-Ik runs to the hospital in Idol I episode 8. He hears it from the doctor that Jae-Hee might have nerve damage. He yells at Bo-Sang and Han-Gu. He wants to know what happened. Bo-Sang takes Ra-Ik aside. He doesn’t want the guy to bring trouble. Ra-Ik expresses that he wants to see Jae-Hee. He tries to break into the operating room. Bo-Sang stops Ra-Ik. He persuades him to leave before reporters come. But Ra-Ik thinks it’s not important at all. He wants to know why Jae-Hee wanted to kill himself. Bo-Sang reveals the cops found the suicide note. Jae-Hee confessed his crimes in the note.

Idol I Episode 8

Se-Na meets Nam-Sik at the police station. He reveals Jae-Hee called Bo-Sang and Ra-Ik except her. But only Bo-Sang picked up the phone. Bo-Sang claims that he said nothing and he hung up. Nam-Sik says that they got the cell phone of Jae-Hee. It was written that he killed Woo-Seong. Nam-Sik wonders why Jae-Hee contacted Se-Na. He knows Se-Na wasn’t close to the guy. Se-Na wants to know the answer as well. She reveals Jae-Hee sent a message to her. She takes out her cell phone. She plays the recording.

Jae-Hee was in his car. He told Se-Na that he called Woo-Seong at the parking lot on the day that Woo-Seong died. But he heard Woo-Seong’s cell phone ringtone from the backyard. Someone knocked at the window of Jae-Hee’s car. Jae-Hee was shocked after he saw the person.

The next day, Se-Na takes Chung-Jae to go to look into the backyard. She thinks it’s weird that Jae-Hee said such words before he committed suicide. She believes that the murderer took Woo-Seong’s cell phone if Jae-Hee heard the ringtone. She asks Chung-Jae to go to ask the residents. She guesses the residents might know something. But he rejects it. He reminds her that she’s not Ra-Ik’s lawyer anymore. He mentions what she said that she will be trapped in the past if she holds it tightly. He thinks she should walk out of the past. He wonders why she holds Ra-Ik tightly since he has given up his past.

Byung-Gyun meets Jong-Chul at a Go club. Jong-Chul hears that Byung-Gyun caught the murderer. Byung-Gyun reveals the murderer confessed. But he’s in a coma. The investigation will stop before the murderer wakes up. The case will be closed if he dies. Jong-Chul persuades his son that he will lose if he only defends. He brings up Chairman Hong’s daughter Hye-Joo. He reveals Chairman Hong wasn’t happy with the love of Hye-Joo and Ra-Ik. Jong-Chul can enter politics if he helps Chairman Hong resolve the problem. Byung-Gyun will get promoted in Prosecutors’ Office as well. Byung-Gyun is surprised that his father had the plan. Jong-Chul tells Byung-Gyun that he has had similar experiences. Although there was no evidence, the suspect’s motivation was clear. But he didn’t confess. He killed himself in the prisoner. People thought Jong-Chul forced a confession. He almost lost his job. But Chairman Hong saved Jong-Chul. He gave him a better position.

The next day, Ra-Ik wakes up at Se-Na’s house. He sees Se-Na falling asleep on the floor. He remembers she saved him when he was helpless in the rain. She took him home. She took care of him all night. She wakes up. She sees him sitting in the yard. She joins him. He explains it to her that he came to her house because he was homeless. He mentions everyone thinks Jae-Hee is the murderer. He doesn’t believe it. She reveals the knife was found in Jae-Hee’s car. She thinks he has heard the suicide note. The note says that Jae-Hee killed Woo-Seong. Police treat it as key evidence. They confirm that Jae-Hee had suicide intention. Se-Na believes that prosecutors won’t restart the investigation. It means that they didn’t do a good job if they restart. Ra-Ik only wants to know the truth. He asks Se-Na if she thinks Jae-Hee is the murderer. He persuades her not to believe it. Because she’s their fan. He believes that she saw Jae-Hee many times. He thinks Jae-Hee has a reason even if the guy did it.

Byung-Gyun arrives at Prosecutors’ Office. He’s scolded by the reporters after he got the wrong suspect. The prosecutors are happy with it. Bo-Sang plans to let Ra-Ik prepare the return in the office. He thinks Ra-Ik should know that he has to do it if he wants to survive. He knows the public likes the person who’s wronged. He thinks it’s a perfect return chance. Han-Gu points out that Ra-Ik cannot face the public. Bo-Sang thinks Han-Gu’s opinion doesn’t matter. He asks Han-Gu to bring Ra-Ik to him. He will persuade Ra-Ik.

Ra-Ik and Se-Na go to Jae-Hee’s car accident scene. Se-Na falls down. Ra-Ik supports her. He grabs her hand. He drags her to the mountain top. She discovers that the location where the car fell is very close. She thinks Jae-Hee should have stomped on the gas pedal if he wanted to kill himself.

Hye-Joo calls Ra-Ik. He doesn’t pick up her phone. Because he left his cell phone in Se-Na’s car. Hye-Joo is at home. She holds the group photo of her and Ra-Ik. She wants to cry. Nam-Sik plays Jae-Hee’s recording at the police station. He suspects that Jae-Hee isn’t the real murderer. But his colleague makes him believe it.

Se-Na takes Ra-Ik to the hotel where Jae-Hee lived. They get into the hotel. The reception recognizes Ra-Ik. Se-Na and Ra-Ik walk out of the hotel. Se-Na wonders why Jae-Hee chose the hotel. Ra-Ik knows the reason. He takes Se-Na to the stage. He reveals it’s the first stage that Golden Boys were invited. He complains it to her that that day was awful. He takes her to the wish forest. He finds the wish Jae-Hee wrote. He learns that the guy came to the forest. Se-Na tries to report it to the police. But Ra-Ik stops her. He writes down his wish. He asks her not to peek. He thinks everyone will know the place if the police begin to investigate. So he needs to make a wish before it happens.

In Prosecutors’ Office, Byung-Gyun finds out that Jae-Hee had an accident because he took the medicine. He refuses to concede defeat. He asks the team leader to prepare some people. He wants to reopen the investigation.

Se-Na and Ra-Ik is locked up in the park in the evening. She accompanies him on a walk after he made a request. They sit by the lake. He notices that she’s very cold. He puts his clothes on her. She tries to reject it. But he claims that it’s a fan service. She points out that she’s not his fan anymore. She thinks he misunderstood it. He brings up that she threw away those things. He saw it outside her house. He guesses she spent a lot of money on those things. He thinks she collected his album since he debuted. He wonders why she liked him so much. She thinks there’s no reason that likes someone. But he knows the reason. He brings up the red hat. He gave the hat to her. He reveals he was in agony that day.

It flashes back. Ra-Ik gives the money to his mother. But she thinks the money is too little. He reminds her that they haven’t seen each other for several months. She knows it. But she claims that they were very busy. He tells her that he’s sick. She promises him that she will come to pick him up once she’s rich. She gives two bills to him. She runs away.

Ra-Ik plays guitar by the river. He wants to give up everything. Se-Na shows up. He thinks the girl is worse off than he is. He cannot ignore it. He sees himself from her. So he wants to comfort her.

At present, Ra-Ik apologizes to Se-Na for not recognizing her. He thinks she’s changed. She laughs. He wonders why she was so sad that day. She reveals her father passed away in the prison. He was charged with murder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. But he claimed that he’s innocent. Her mother was devastated. She passed away. Se-Na was the only one in the family. She was left in the world suddenly. She couldn’t come up with a reason to live. But she wanted to live after she heard Ra-Ik’s song. She thinks she should thank Ra-Ik. She was very happy when he debuted. She’s very relaxed after she confessed. She apologizes it to him for concealing it from him. She didn’t want to lie to him. He thanks her for cheering him on when he glowed. She accompanied him when he had a hard time. She didn’t forget him and she cared for him. Ra-Ik tries to touch Se-Na’s face. But the guard catches them.

The guard tries to take the two to leave the park. He wonders why they didn’t call him after they were locked. Se-Na explains that her phone was dead. But she gets a call from the reception at the hotel. Se-Na and Ra-Ik go to the hotel. They’re told that Jae-Hee had a fight with Bo-Sang over the phone.

Se-Na and Ra-Ik walk out of the hotel. Se-Na mentions Bo-Sang claimed that he didn’t say anything to Jae-Hee. Ra-Ik learns that Bo-Sang lied. He wonders why the boss did that. Se-Na tells Ra-Ik that Bo-Sang isn’t a good person. Ra-Ik is surprised that Woo-Seong wanted to betray Bo-Sang.

Ra-Ik and Se-Na visit Bo-Sang. They want to know the truth. Bo-Sang explains it to Ra-Ik that he concealed it because he worried that he will be hurt. He reminds him that some truths will bring pain. He wonders if he can shoulder the truth. Se-Na takes a look at Ra-Ik. She wants to know the answer as well. He asks Bo-Sang to speak out what he concealed.
