Eleanor is taken to the police station in Imperfect Women episode 1. She cries after she was betrayed by her best friends. In the interrogation room, Eleanor is asked when she saw the dead the last time. She reveals she had dinner with the dead last night. The cop notices that she’s not sure about that. She denies it. She wants to know what happened to the girl.

The policewoman refuses to leak the details to Eleanor. But she and the policeman want Eleanor to help them. She guesses Eleanor was the only one who talked with the girl except the assailant. She wants her to tell them what she remembers.
Eleven hours ago, Eleanor plays cornhole at the company. She receives a message from Nancy. Nancy asks Eleanor for a meeting up. The guy wants to have a talk with Eleanor. But she leaves the company. In the evening, Eleanor drinks with her friends at the party on the roof. Mary talks about her daughter and her husband. The waiter brings the galettes and the champagne to the three ladies. Eleanor thanks the chef Marco for preparing it for them. She tells Mary that they’re artisanal Tater Tots. It makes Nancy laugh. She tells her two friends that they love them very much. Mary goes to the restroom. The waiter informs Eleanor that her table is ready.
Eleanor and Nancy walk to the table. Nancy confesses it to Eleanor that she didn’t break up with the man. She asks her to keep the secret from the Mary. She worries that Mary will be unhappy. Eleanor persuades Nancy to be honest with Robert. Nancy knows what she’s doing isn’t right. But she was uneasy when she was with Robert. Eleanor mentions what Nancy told her that infatuation depletes her. But Nancy thinks it was said by Mary. Eleanor tells Nancy that she said it when Robert made proposal to her.
Mary comes back. She wonders what the two were talking about it. Nancy tells a lie to Mary that it’s Eleanor’s entanglements.
Eleanor is woken up by Robert’s phone in her bedroom. The guy tells her that Nancy didn’t come home last night. She didn’t pick up his phone as well. He wonders if Nancy went home with her after the dinner. He notices that she’s sleeping with another man.
Eleanor walks out of her bedroom. She tells Robert that Nancy left after they ate. Nancy didn’t say that she will go home. Robert decides to call the police. But Eleanor stops him. He wants to know what happened. She decides to go to see him.
Eleanor returns to the bedroom. She wants to take Jordan’s jeans. Jordan agrees. He realizes that she’s going to leave. She asks him to remembers that she never came to his house.
Eleanor drives to Robert’s house. Robert opens the door for her. He realizes that Nancy wanted to break up with him. Eleanor tells the guy that Nancy didn’t say that. But he asks her to be honest to him. He guesses his wife is seeing someone else. She feels sorry for it. She claims that she didn’t want to be in the middle of it. He asks her who’s the guy. She says that Nancy told her that they’re over. But he knows Nancy that the girl is clear sometimes. She confesses it to him that the guy is David. She doesn’t know more details. Nancy said that she met the guy through work. Eleanor doesn’t know where Nancy found the guy.
Robert figures it out that the dinner is just an excuse of Nancy’s date. Eleanor denies it. She claims that they had dinner. They were celebrating Mary’s birthday. Robert asks Eleanor not to lie to him. She tells him that she never did it to him.
Eleanor tries to go to get a drink for Robert. He reveals he resigned two weeks ago. He did it for Nancy. She sees a painting. She wonders if it’s new. He doesn’t know about it. He asks her if Nancy was unhappy when she was with him. He knows his wife told everything to Eleanor and Mary. Eleanor tells Robert that it’s not his problem. She thinks Nancy is unhappy with herself. The two police show up.
The policewoman tells Robert that they found a body in the morning. She believes that the body is his wife. Nancy’s wallet and her identification were found with the body. The body is in Arroyo Seco Park. Robert knows Arroyo. Because he has lived in Pasadena for a long time. He asks the cop how his wife died. The policewoman says that Nancy was killed by someone. They need someone from the family to identity the body. Eleanor goes to identity the body. She tells the police that the body is Nancy. She wipes away her tears.
At present, Eleanor tells the policeman that she and Nancy have been best friends for 25 years with Mary. She says that Nancy knew the guy David at work. But he mentions what Robert said that his wife was a homemaker. She admits it. She reveals Nancy did a lot of philanthropic work. She’s asked to leak more information about Nancy’s lover. But she cannot do that. The policeman brings up that his wife has a best friend from college. They cannot stop when they talk over the phone. He believes that Nancy not just told the man’s name to Eleanor. Eleanor realizes that she will be held. But she’s told that she can leave the police station. She cannot leave the town.
Eleanor goes to see Mary. Mary gives Eleanor a hug. She’s surprised that her friend came. She asks her if she’s fine. She asks her husband to take the kids into the house. Eleanor tells Mary that Nancy is dead. In the house, Mary learns that Eleanor saw Nancy’s body. She wonders what happened to Nancy. Eleanor reveals the wound is on the back of Nancy’s head. So her face was still perfect. Marry doesn’t understand why her friend went to Arroyo. Eleanor says that she’s not sure. It promotes Marry to believe that Eleanor knows something. Eleanor confesses it to Mary that Nancy was meeting someone. The person was a guy. Mary is shocked after she knew it. She figures it out that Eleanor and Nancy were talking about it when she went to the restroom. Eleanor admits it. But Nancy didn’t tell Eleanor anything. Eleanor just knows that the guy was texting Nancy. Nancy was upset. Eleanor guesses the two might have seen each other. She has known it for a couple of weeks. She mistook that Nancy broke up with the guy. She thought it’s not a big deal.
Mary blames Eleanor and Nancy for not telling it to her. She thinks Nancy did it because she worried that she will scold her. She points out that Eleanor likes to scold people more than her. Eleanor figures it out that Nancy told it to her because she knew she would be harder on her. She tells Mary that she was the one who told Nancy to break up with the guy. So Nancy went to see the guy. She’s dead now. Mary asks Eleanor not to feel guilty. The guy Marcus shows up. He’s Marry’s son. He guesses something happened. Marry cries to tell Marcus that his aunt Nancy was killed last night. He gives her a hug. Eleanor returns home. She talks with Mary over the phone. Mary wonders if Eleanor saw Cora. Eleanor denies it.
The next day, Cora checks her mother Nancy’s clothes in the room. She’s surprised that Nancy had black clothes. Eleanor reveals Nancy had a gorgeous black leather jumpsuit. Nancy liked to wear it when she went to the club with Eleanor. Cora tells Eleanor that Nancy wanted to take her shopping. But she always refused her. Eleanor thinks the relationship of mothers and daughters is very complicated. Cora denies it. She reveals she would roast her mother for the shopping she did. Now she’s digging through her clothes. Trying to find something that she can wear to her funeral.
Eleanor suggests that Cora doesn’t have to do that if she cannot bear it. But Cora thinks something is wrong with her. Eleanor brings up that Nancy held Cora. She loved her so much. Eleanor thinks Nancy was happy with being a mother. Cora points out that she only knew to push her mother away. She thinks it’s too late. She cries. Eleanor hugs Cora. Cora wishes Eleanor will live with them. She doesn’t want to stay alone with her father.
Eleanor agrees. She knows Robert doesn’t know how to manage his emotions. But Cora points out that it’s not just the emotions. She feels unsafe when she’s with her father.
Eleanor walks into Robert’s study when the guy’s talking with his sister. Robert’s sister goes to the kitchen to get drink for the two. Eleanor thinks the place is cold. Robert explains it to her that his sister wanted to help him. She reveals Cora wished she will stay at the house. He asks her about how she feels. She thinks how she feels isn’t important. She wants to make the best decision for Cora. He wants to thank her. He thinks he’s terrible sometimes. He takes anyone around him for granted. He asks her if his daughter is scared of him. He thinks it’s hard to Cora that she lost her mother. He mentions the police treated him as a suspect. He brings up that he has no alibi. He was alone at home until Eleanor talked to him. Eleanor receives a message from Jordan. She tells Robert that it’s not a good idea to live at the house.
Eleanor goes to her company. She’s told that the police came to the company. Jordan shows up. He tells Eleanor that he tried to reach her. She thinks it’s not the right time. He wants to help her. But she asks him not to do anything.
Eleanor goes to the church to attend Nancy’s funeral. She runs into Mary. Mary doesn’t understand why they had to have the memorial so quickly. Eleanor guesses Robert wanted to get it over. Mary’s husband Howard shows up with the two kids. He informs the two ladies that he saved the seats for them. He leaves with the kids. Eleanor sits with Mary in the church. She sees Cora. It reminds her Nancy. Eleanor gives a speech.
The next day, Eleanor and Mary take a walk outside. Eleanor brings up that guy in the denim jacket she saw at the church. Mary didn’t notice the guy. Eleanor believes that the guy isn’t Nancy’s family. Mary asks Eleanor to let Marcus volunteer with her. Eleanor agrees. She receives a message. She’s told that the police found David.
Eleanor goes to Robert’s house. Robert and Cora are watching David’s news. They learn that David is an artist. Eleanor doesn’t want to believe that David is the killer. But she finds the painting Nancy hung. Robert is furious to throw the painting out of his house. Eleanor tries to calm him down. But he claims that Nancy is his wife.
Eleanor visits Mary. Mary tells Eleanor that Nancy suspected her and Robert’s relationship. Eleanor returns home in the evening. She’s startled by Robert. He invites her to dance with him. But she rejects it. He leaves her house. Eleanor drives to the Ballet Theater. Robert is waiting for her. She walks to him. They’re very happy. Someone takes photos of them in the car.
