Klein Moretti has a meeting with Audrey Hall and Alger Wilson in Lord of Mysteries episode 8. Klein reads Roselle Gustav’s note. He sees the name “Nameless Island”. He wonders what it is. Audrey apologizes to Klein for not finding the Roselle’s note. He doesn’t get angry because he knows it’s a long-term job. She reveals she contacted some Beyonder circles. She believes that she will get more notes. She wishes to get some information about secret groups. Alger takes a look at Klein. It makes The Fool nervous. He confesses that he’s just a rookie.
Alger is very humble. He tells Audrey that he only knows the tip of the iceberg in Lord of Mysteries. He thinks they need to send some people to look into it if they want to know the details. But the lady only wishes to know the tip of the iceberg. But she’s told that she needs to pay the price. Alger asks Audrey to pay him 1,000 pounds. Klein thinks it’s too expensive. He guesses Audrey cannot take out the money even if she’s rich. But she thinks it’s not a problem. Klein is surprised that the girl paid it. He appears calm because he’s The Fool. Alger explains the secret groups to Audrey. The girl doesn’t have any questions. Klein ends the meeting.
Old Neil Introduces Folan to Klein
The next day, Klein brushes his teeth in the bathroom. He remembers Numinous Episcopate who worships Death. He guesses Numinous Episcopate is related to Azik Eggers. He wonders if his teacher forgot his task in Lord of Mysteries. He hears the newsboy’s voice. He tells the newsboy that he wants to buy a newspaper. Klein goes out. He runs into Melissa and Benson. Melissa sees Klein’s revolver. She’s shocked. Klein explains it to his sister that he’s working part-time at the police station. He walks away. She notes that he’s very happy.
Klein gets the newspaper from the newsboy. He reads the newspaper. He finds out that the believers of Evernight Goddess were attacked. He realizes that Azik took action. Klein walks into Hound Pub when Old Neil stops Folan from leaving. Klein recognizes the Mandated Punisher because they worked together when they tried to arrest Tris. Old Neil orders two beers. He asks Folan to pay the bill. Klein greets Old Neil. Old Neil orders an extra beer. Folan complains it to Old Neil that the believers of Evernight Goddess were attacked at the dock. He mentions the dock is Mandated Punishers’ place.
Folan worries that Nighthawks and Mandated Punishers will hate each other because of the rumor. He suspects that there was an evil group behind the case. He reveals the spiritual bodies were like the ghosts of Fourth Epoch. Klein knows Azik did it. He thinks it’s his turn. Folan asks Old Neil to return the drinking money to him next time. He leaves the pub. Klein smiles. He thinks the man is very generous. But Old Nei says that the guy is just an alcoholic. Leonard Mitchell shows up. He informs Old Neil that Dunn Smith summoned him.
Klein And Old Neil Purify The Ghosts
Klein and Old Neil go to Dunn’s office. Dunn asks Old Neil to go to take care of the ghost cases at the dock. Klein volunteers to take the job. He thinks his divination will work. Old Neil is very happy since he doesn’t have to handle the cases. He reveals his waist is aged. Dunn mentions the new rule that people over 50 can get double allowance. The sly Old Nei promises to help Klein. Klein mentions the ghosts are hard to be killed. Dunn thinks 3-0782 can do the job. Klein remembers the Sealed Artifact helped them a lot in the ancient castle. He wishes to use it again.
But Dunn goes against it. Because there’re many people at the dock. He worries that Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem will turn those guys into idiots who only know to praise sun. Klein reminds the captain that he will embarrass Nighthawks if he fails. Dunn agrees to it. But he asks the boy not to stay at a place for one hour.
Klein and Leonard go to the dock. Leonard takes Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem. He thinks Klein intended to do the task with him. He claims that Klein won’t find his secret during the task. Klein isn’t interested in Leonard’s secret. He thinks the guy is too narcissistic. The sheriff welcomes the Nighthawks. He takes them to the house. There’re many people at the place. Someone recognizes Old Neil. The sheriff worries that the Nighthawks cannot use their powers well because of the people.
Leonard takes out the holy water. It makes the people believe that the Nighthawks are professional. Klein laughs after Leonard tricked the people. Old Neil whispers in Klein’s ear that method is very important. The Nighthawks and the Sheriff walk into the house. They’re attacked by the ghosts. Old Neil asks Sheriff to go to summon more people. But Sheriff turns into a dog. Leonard fights the ghost. He asks the Nighthawks to hang in there for one minute. Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem begins to do his job.
Folan Saves Megose
Klein gives the ghost a signal. The ghosts leave. Klein and Old Neil purify the evil spirits. A carriage runs out of control on the street. Folan saves Megose before she’s hit by the carriage. She thanks him. Klein finds out that the girl recovered. He guesses the family accepted the baby. Megose walks away. Old Neil wonders why Folan wandered around there because he heard he has an important task. Folan reveals he received an order to tail the girl for finding Lanevus.
Folan reveals Church of the Lord of Storms wanted to make sure if Lanevus was involved in Beyonder cases. He drinks the wine. Old Neil persuades his friend to drink less. He worries that he will die. Folan laughs. He thinks it will be good if he dies from drinking. He walks away. Klein joins Old Neil. He wonders if Folan is Old Neil’s friend. Old Neil reveals his wife Celeste accompanied when he and Folan sang. Klein is told that Celeste passed away. He’s very sad. Old Neil comforts Klein that Gods bless them if they don’t die from losing control.
Klein Gets Sunshine Spells
Kenley White walks into the room after he cleared the ghosts. He’s surprised that the ghosts didn’t hurt the people. Leonard asks Klein to divine it. Klein does it. But he gets nothing. He knows he failed because Azik is a powerful Beyonder. He sees an inverted pyramid. Leonard reveals only Death can build the mausoleum for himself. Kenley mentions Death and Primordial Demoness unleashed the pale disaster. Leonard wonders if the believers of Death did it for a goal.
Klein remembers Azik woke up from the bodies. He guesses it was the battlefield of Pale Disaster. He thinks he should be careful of the mastermind since the mastermind took away the skull of Azik’s child. He gets Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem from Leonard. He performs a ritual. Eternal Blazing Sun gives his power to the spells of Klein. Leonard and Kenley are outside the house. Leonard senses the change in the weather. He suspects Klein.
Folan Loses Control
A monster appears from the sea. He kills the swimmer. Klein shoots the monster after his ritual was interrupted. He realizes that the monster was a Beyonder. Leonard joins the battle. He asks Klein to leave with Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem. Klein throws Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem to Kenley. Kenley leaves. Old Neil disperses the crowd. He asks Sheriff to go to inform Folan.

Old Neil’s hand is hurt when he saves someone. He unites with Klein and Leonard. They catch the monster. Old Neil sees the wine bottle the monster dropped. He picks up the wine bottle. He cries after he realized that the monster is his friend Folan. Leonard knows Folan cannot be saved. He takes out his revolver. He points the revolver at Folan. Old Neil volunteers to do the job. Klein notices the wound on Old Neil’s hand. Old Neil takes over the revolver from Leonard. He kills his friend in person.

Old Neil returns home. He plans the piano. Klein lights the candle. He’s surprised that Old Neil’s house is lifeless. He sees Folan’s photo. He wonders why the man lost control. Klein returns home. He takes out the sunshine spells. He thinks the spells can help him fight the rivals. But it cannot prevent him from losing control. He wonders if he cannot avoid the fate. He thinks he will find a way. He guesses he can lower the risk if he has a strong Beyonder power. He decides to leak it to Dunn. He plans to become a Clown.
