On the ship, Nami tells the members that the Reverse Mountain waterway is the best option to enter the Grand Line in One Piece Season 2 episode 2. Luffy agrees to her plan. But Zoro points out that their ship cannot travel up a mountain. Sanji chooses to trust Nami. She speaks out her idea that the currents of the four seas will drive them up. But the waters in the area are colder. So the currents at the mountain’s edge travel down to the sea floor. It means that they could be dragged to the bottom of the ocean if they don’t do their job well.

Everything is going smoothly after Straw Hats worked together. But a giant whale eats the ship Merry before Straw Hats enter the Grand Line. Luffy wakes up on the beach. He sees the whale. He’s furious to ask the guy to return his crew to him. But the whale doesn’t answer Luffy. Luffy tries to attack the whale. The whale dodges the attack. Luffy threatens the whale that he’s over if he can swim.
Crocus shows up. He suggests that Luffy should use something bigger when he takes a syringe. He puts the syringe into a cannon. He shoots the whale. The whale passes out. He sinks. Luffy claims that his friends are in the belly of the whale. He needs to save them immediately. But Crocus tells Luffy that his friends are dead. He introduces himself as a lighthouse keeper. He reveals the whale is trying to break through the Red Line. Luffy doesn’t believe that his crew is dead.
The crew is trapped in the giant whale’s belly. Nami believes that Luffy is fine. She tells Straw Hats that they need to leave the place. Zoro volunteers to come up with a way. He doesn’t trust Nami after she made the crew in danger. She talks back that she didn’t know the whale was there. She didn’t break the whipstaff with her giant muscles. She guesses Usopp can fix Merry. He can do it. But he needs a new rowle. She asks him to go to get the stuff on the perilous wrecks. Sanji guesses there’re ghosts on the wrecks. So Nami gives the job to the two. Zoro wants to take care of the whale on his own. Nami reminds the guy that his sword cannot hurt the whale. But he wants to confirm it.
In the town, Tashigi has prepared the bike for Smoker. But she reminds his boss that the Grand Line isn’t their jurisdiction. He needs to report it to Garp. Smoker asks Tashigi to report it for him. But Garp shows up. Smoker figures it out that Garp came for the anniversary. Garp reveals he was going to Marineford Headquarters. He introduces his proteges Helmeppo and Koby to Smoker. Smoker looks down on the two after knowing they vomited on the ship. Garp reminds Smoker that he wasn’t a model recruit when he started. He asks the two proteges to walk around the town for learning something. But Koby wants to stay with Garp. Garp threatens Koby that he will let him do push-ups on the ship if he refuses to walk around. Smoker asks Tashigi to take the two to walk around.
In the lighthouse, Crocus locks the door. Luffy knocks the door from outside. Crocus ignores the guy. He turns on the gramophone. He sits on the couch. He reads the newspapers that the princess is missing. Luffy breaks down the door. Crocus tells Luffy that it’s hard to get someone to fix the door. Luffy brings up that he and his friends promised to go through the Grand Line. He won’t set sail without those guys. He says that nothing can block him and his crew. Crocus learns that Luffy won’t give up. He decides to help the guy save his friends from Laboon’s belly.
In Smoker’s office, Garp brings up that Smoker let the pirates flee. Smoker reveals the Straw Hats are heading to find the One Piece. He plans to go after Luffy. Because the guy wants to finish the task Roger didn’t complete. Garp is surprised that Smoker compared Luffy to Roger. Smoker reveals Luffy smiled like Roger when he faced the death. He understands that Garp wants to protect his grandson. But Garp claims that he won’t do it anymore. He brings up that pirates cannot navigate through the Calm Belt. The only way is through Reverse Mountain. He guesses those guys die. He persuades Smoke not to waste his time. But Smoke doesn’t want to sit in his office. Garp rejects Smoker’s request. He persuades him to use his skills on other places. He thinks the Straw Hats are a speck of dust.
Garp reveals the Kingdom of Alabasta is on the verge of civil war. The princess is still missing. She might have been kidnapped. The Revolutionary Army gains supporters every day. They’re going to overturn the World Government. Their leader is Dragon who Smoker has encountered. Smoker reports it to Garp that Dragon helped the Straw Hats to flee.
In the whale’s belly, Usopp and Sanji are looking for the rowle on the wrecks. They discover that the whale’s stomach acid is eroding the ships. Usopp worries about Merry. Sanji tells Usopp that he won’t be afraid of anything if he trusts the crew. But he steps on something. He screams. Usopp finds out that the body is on the rowle. He asks Sanji to move the body so that he can take the rowle. But Sanji wishes Usopp moves the body. He notices that the stuff is underneath the body’s arm. Usopp moves the body. He finds out that the rowle is intact. But someone grabs Usopp’s arm. Usopp is startled to step back. Sanji finds out that the person is a weird guy. The weird guy claims that he will take Usopp’s ship. He takes two bats to attack Usopp. Sanji defeats the weird guy. Usopp figures it out that the weird guy has accomplices outside.
On Merry, Zoro tells Nami that they will leave once he opens the whale’s mouth. He made a big sword with the rope. He will use the sword when the rudder is fixed. He plans to poke the roof of the whale’s mouth. The whale will spit them out. But she thinks the idea is very stupid.
Zoro walks away. Nami discovers that her compass is missing. A girl casts a dart to Nami. Nami fights the girl without Zoro. She’s defeated. The girl tells Nami that she needs her ship. She tries to take her life. But Usopp is aiming at her. Sanji gets the girl to release Nami. Zoro comes back. He guesses he missed something.
In the lighthouse, Crocus tells Luffy that he’s going to use another sedative on Laboon after the guy resurfaces. He medicated the guy twenty per day for preventing him from hitting the Red Line. Luffy wonders why Crocus takes care of the whale. He asks him if the whale is his pet. Crocus denies it. He claims that he doesn’t like animals. He does it because he made a promise.
On the ship, Crocus praises the crew for crossing Reverse Mountain. He welcomes them to the pirates’ graveyard. The captain apologizes to Crocus for docking and repairing their ship. He introduces himself as Calico Yorki. He’s the captain of the Rumbar Pirates. Crocus welcomes the guy to repair the ship. But he asks him not to bring trouble to him. Laboon shows up. He makes a big move. Crocus worries that the whale will scare away the fish. Yorki asks Crocus to lend the dock to them. He will share their music and their food with him. But Crocus doesn’t need it. Brook offers to give some booze to Crocus.
Crocus drinks with Brook and Yorki. He wonders how the whale joined the crew. Yorki reveals the guy followed them in the West Blue. The crew accepted Laboon after they found out that the whale likes music. Crocus reminds Yorki that Laboon will be eaten if he takes the whale to the Grand Line. It promotes Yorki to worry about Laboon. Crocus promises Yorki that he will take care of Laboon for the wine. Brook promises Laboon that they will come back after they explore the Grand Line. They leave. Laboon is sad.
Luffy knows the song those guys sang to Laboon. He reveals someone sang it to him as well. Crocus tells Luffy that Laboon’s crew didn’t come back. He went to look for those guys ever. He was told that they fled the Grand Line. Laboon believes that his crew sails around behind the wall. He can break through the wall if he hits it hard enough. But the Red Line is impenetrable. He will die. Crocus has told the truth to Laboon that those guys won’t come back. But the whale was too stubborn. Crocus has to use the sedative to help the whale. Luffy thinks Crocus is a good guy after he heard the story. But Crocus denies it. He says that he does it because he’s the only person that Laboon can rely on. He reminds Luffy that Laboon will die if the sedative doesn’t work. Luffy offers to let the whale accept the truth that his crew is gone. Crocus points out that Luffy wouldn’t accept it.
In the whale’s belly, Usopp fixes the whipstaff of Merry. Merry can be seaworthy once he untangles the knot. The weird guy and his partner are tied up. Zoro threatens them that he will kill them if they don’t confess. The weird guy claims that they’re powerful. He threatens Zoro that they will be over if they don’t release them. But Zoro recognizes the weird guy. He’s Mr. 9. Nami wonders who are the guys. Zoro reveals the guys are Baroque Works. The marines have been on their trail.
In a room at Marine hub, Garp introduces Baroque Works as some dangerous men. An organization with tendrils extending from the Grand Line to every other sea. They became bold recently. Shells Town is just the latest Marine outpost they destroyed. He doesn’t know those guys’ goal. Because he never caught any agents of them. They use code names to conceal their real identities. Nobody knows the real identity of the leader Mr. Zero. Tashigi breaks into the room. She sees Robin’s photo. Smoker drives her out of his office. Garp allows Smoker to go to the Grand Line. But he needs to catch a Baroque Works agent. Garp chose Smoker because he’s focused. But he asks him not to ignore the bigger picture.
In the whale’s belly, Zoro reveals the group sent Mr. 7 to recruit him. Zoro rejected. He cut Mr. 7 in half. Mr. 9 claims that he’s not at full strength because he has been in the whale for days. He asks his partner Miss Wednesday to tell it to those guys. Zoro offers to throw the two into the sea. But Nami goes against it. Because the captain doesn’t wish they do that. Zoro points out that the captain isn’t there. Miss Wednesday figures it out that the Zoro was the one who made the crew be trapped. Nami asks the girl for her compass. Miss Wednesday reveals the compass dropped into the sea. Nami claims that she needs the compass. But Miss Wednesday points out that the compass isn’t useful in the Grand Line. Because the magnetic fields are completely different. Nami needs to use a log pose. Miss Wednesday and Mr. 9 laugh after knowing Nami lost the log pose. Nami points out that their ship is fine even if they cannot get out of the place. Miss Wednesday hears the sound. She suggests that her enemies should grab onto something.
The crew goes to save Usopp. The guy falls from the ship. Fortunately, his rope saves his life. Nami asks him to calm down. The whale hits the wall. Crocus walks out of the lighthouse. He thinks the whale woke up too early. He takes over the syringe from Luffy. Luffy wonders what will happen to his crew. Crocus tells the captain that it’s not good. He shoots the whale with the sedative. But it doesn’t work. Luffy realizes that he should approach the whale. He jumps to the rock. He hits the whale’s eye. The whale sinks. In the whale’s belly, Miss Wednesday helps the Straw Hats save Usopp.
Luffy sings the song. Laboon is moved. Luffy tells the whale that he will meet some people who want to stay for him. He expresses that he needs his friends. He asks him to release them. The whale opens his mouth. Merry catches the chance to get out of the whale’s belly. Luffy sees his crew. He’s happy to wave at them.
In the town, Helmeppo and Koby are practicing shooting. Koby notices that Tashigi is eavesdropping on their conversation. He tells her that he did it before. He invites her to use his gun. But she prefers her sword. She tries to talk about her dreams. But she gives up the mind for Smoker. Koby figures it out that the girl became a marine for training sword. She says that the sword sings to her. She wants to get the top swords. But the swords are owned by pirates and bounty hunters. She wants to take the swords one by one if she has the power. Koby guesses Smoker won’t support the mission. He reveals he had a dream as well. He wants to get justice for anyone who was bullied. He brings up that Garp supported his dream. Tashigi learns that Garp is a good teacher. Koby tells the girl that she can only rely on herself.
Usopp walks out of the lighthouse after he fixed the door. He suggests that those guys should live in the whale’s belly. Zoro wonders how they will deal with the two friends on the ship. Crocus refuses to accept the two killers. But Sanji points out that the girl saved Usopp. Nami persuades Sanji not to trust the girl. Luffy plans to take the two to the next island. Nami speaks out her concern that her skills and her tools aren’t good enough. She doesn’t know what is a Log Pose. She cannot navigate the crew. Because she doesn’t know where she’s going. Crocus comforts the girl that he will give a Log Pose to her. He will teach her how to use it. He praises her for reaching the place. But she thinks it’s everyone’s contribution.

Luffy paints on Laboon. He tells the whale that it’s the friendship of him and the Straw Hats. He threatens him that the pirate flag will disappear if he hits the wall. He knows he waited for his friend because he believed them. He reminds him that he’s one of the Straw Hats. He promises him that they will come back.
In the town, Smoker asks Tashigi to guard the town. Because he’s going to go to the Grand Line. But she refuses to stay in the town. She expresses that she wants to go to the Grand Line with him. She wants to hunt down her own Gold Roger. She thinks she should follow her own code at some point. The day is today. He reminds her that Baroque Works are powerful. He wonders if she wants to get involved for a sword. But she has made the decision. He agrees. It makes her happy. He asks her not to dance. On the ship, Sanji asks Nami to bring the food to his friends on the brig. He thinks nobody shouldn’t be hungry on the ship. Zoro wonders if they will encounter a nice guy like Crocus on the next island. In the lighthouse, Crocus tells Roger that the Straw Hates are the people they have waited. He believes that those guys will arrive in Laugh Tale. On the ship, Nami checks the Log Pose. She informs Luffy that the next island is straight ahead.
