Hyun-Jin walks into her room in Our Universe episode 9. She sees Gyu-Tae taking a glass cup. She asks him what he’s doing. She’s furious to yell at him. She sees the box he’s holding. She figures it out that he approached them for the money. He claims that he will repay it later. She blames him for doing so. She reminds him that he and Tae-Hyeong are a family. He agrees with what she said. But he thinks family should help each other. She learns that the person who called the insurance agent was him. He admits it. He thinks he didn’t do something bad.
Gyu-Tae points out that he has the right to take the insurance. Because he raised Woo-Jin. Hyun-Jin questions the guy if he cares for Woo-Joo. She reminds him that Woo-Joo is his grandson. He agrees to count Woo-Joo. He offers to divide the insurance into four portions. She grabs her fist tightly. She snatches the box from him. She runs out of the room. But he throws the glass cup at her.
Tae-Hyeong returns home. He protects Hyun-Jin when his father throws another thing at her. He finds out that her arm is bleeding. He throws a fit to Gyu-Tae. At the police station, Tae-Hyeong tells the cop that he doesn’t know his father is serving his sentence. Gyu-Tae is still making excuses when the cop questions him. Tae-Hyeong is furious to leave the police office. The superintendent Min-Cheol stops Tae-Hyeong. He recognizes him. He asks for a talk.
At the hospital, the doctor dresses Hyun-Jin’s wound. Seung-Taek goes to BS Food to see Yoon-Seong. He informs the team leader that Tae-Hyeong cannot attend the meeting because he has a business. Gyu-Jung brings up that Hyun-Jin took a day off as well.
Tae-Hyeong meets Min-Cheol at a cafe. Min-Cheol introduces himself as Woo-Jin’s senior. He reveals the one who sent Gyu-Tae to prison was Woo-Jin. It’s the reason why Woo-Jin became a cop.
Seven years ago, Woo-Jin reads the report that his father was sued at the police station. Min-Cheol persuades Woo-Jin to transfer the case. But Woo-Jin goes against it. He knows the culprit will only stay in the prison for one year. He wants to look for other victims. Min-Cheol wonders if he knows the victim. Woo-Jin confesses it to the team leader that he knows the perpetrator. He manages to find the victims. Min-Cheol asks Woo-Jin why he wants to send his father to prison. Woo-Jin drinks with Min-Cheol at a bar. He reveals he thought he should do something after he witnessed his father beating Tae-Hyeong. He planned to put Tae-Hyeong in an orphanage. He will catch the change to call the police. The thought the problem will be resolved. But he failed every time. He was caught back to be beaten after he did so. Min-Cheol thinks Woo-Jin was young. He thinks he should have had his younger brother by his side. Woo-Jin says that it’s the only method to protect Tae-Hyeong. That’s not letting Tae-Hyeong stay at home. He thought it will be over after he grows up. But Gyu-Tae kept coming to ask for money. Woo-Jin thought Tae-Hyeong can get rid of the person at least. He feels relieved. Min-Cheol thinks Woo-Jin is a fool. He wonders why he lived so hard. Woo-Jin thinks he should have done so because he’s a brother.
At present, Min-Cheol hands over the papers to Tae-Hyeong. Tae-Hyeong sees the photos of his brother’s injury. Min-Cheol tells Tae-Hyeong that Woo-Jin worried that Gyu-Tae will visit Tae-Hyeong after Gyu-Tae is released. Tae-Hyeong tears up.
At the hospital, Hyun-Jin calls Tae-Hyeong. He doesn’t pick up her phone. Tae-Hyeong walks into Woo-Jin’s room in the evening. He takes a look at Woo-Jin’s photo. He tries to pack Woo-Jin’s clothes. But he sees a photo album on the floor. He picks up the photo album. He opens it. He remembers Min-Cheol told him that Woo-Jin came to the orphanage to see him after Woo-Jin was beaten. He sees the photographic works Woo-Jin kept. He tells Woo-Jin that he shouldn’t have shouldered it. Because he cannot leave.
Hyun-Jin returns home with Woo-Joo. She finds out that Tae-Hyeong is at home. She asks him why he didn’t pick up her phone. He explains it to her that he was very busy. She notices the wound on his face. She thinks he should apply an ointment. The doctor said that she wasn’t seriously injured. She asks him if he’s fine. He believes that she was startled. He asks her to go to take a break. He reveals he’s going to go out. He tells her that she doesn’t have to wait for him.
Tae-Hyeong drinks at the restaurant. Eui-Joon calls Tae-Hyeong. He comes to the restaurant. Tae-Hyeong reveals Woo-Jin received the message that Gyu-Tae was released from prison on the day that Woo-Jin had an accident. So Woo-Jin contacted Tae-Hyeong. But Tae-Hyeong didn’t know about it. He thinks he’s a fool who hurts the people around him. He wonders if Woo-Jin and Hyun-Joo would be alive if he picked up the phone. He regrets that he didn’t help Woo-Jin one time. He thinks everything was his mistake. He says that his old brother wouldn’t live so hard if it wasn’t because of him. Woo-Jin wouldn’t have the accident that day. Tae-Hyeong wipes away his tears. He tells Eui-Joon that he went to Woo-Jin’s wedding ever. But he hoped Woo-Jin won’t live well. He would bless Woo-Jin if he knew the truth.
Hyun-Jin persuades Woo-Joo to sleep at home. He rejects it. Because it’s raining. He misses his uncle. Hyun-Jin tells Woo-Joo that his uncle’s heart aches. She notices that it’s raining heavily. She worries about the guy.
The next day, Moo-Saeng walks into the office at Film Pluto. He sees Tae-Hyeong’s wound on his face. He guesses he had a fight with someone. Tae-Hyeong denies it. Moo-Saeng reminds Tae-Hyeong that he makes a living off his looks. He persuades him to go to apply ointment when he hands over the ointment to him. He remembers he’s off work today. Tae-Hyeong explains it to Moo-Saeng that he came for doing something. Moo-Saeng learns that the guy has taken care of everything. He thinks Tae-Hyeong shouldn’t have adapted it so quickly. It makes him have no excuse to resign.
At BS Food, Hyun-Jin becomes a regular employee. So-Hee congratulates Hyun-Jin with a cake. Hyun-Jin promises the colleagues that she will work hard. She eats the cake with them. She says that she likes the cake of the store very much. Gyu-Jung wonders if Hyun-Jin was close to Yoon-Seong. He reveals Yoon-Seong insisted on buying the chocolate cake at the store. Yoon-Seong even went to line up. Gyu-Jung thinks boys wouldn’t remember such a thing. So-Hee figures out the reason why Gyu-Jung doesn’t have a girlfriend. She thinks boys should be thoughtful and considerate. He claims that he’s popular as well. But she says that he’s a popular single. Hyun-Jin tries to get a piece of cake for So-Hee. But her arm hurts when she does so. Yoon-Seong notices that she was hurt.
Hyun-Jin meets Se-Yeon outside. Se-Yeon asks Hyun-Jin about her wound. Hyun-Jin reveals she wasn’t seriously hurt because of Tae-Hyeong. She thinks she had the ending because she encouraged Tae-Hyeong. She persuaded him not to cut ties with his father. Se-Yeon suggests that Hyun-Jin should have a talk with Tae-Hyeong. She reminds her that she and Tae-Hyeong are family. They need to help each other when there are difficulties.
Se-Yeon runs into Yoon-Seong in the lobby. He asks her for a talk. The two have a meeting. He asks her about the wound on Hyun-Jin’s arm. But she refuses to tell it to him. Hyun-Jin returns to the apartment. She runs into the neighbors. They learn that Gyu-Tae was the thief. Ji-Hyun feels regret that she shouldn’t have scolded Tae-Hyeong. Ae-Ja persuades Hyun-Jin to let Tae-Hyeong stay alone.
Tae-Hyeong returns home. Hyun-Jin is preparing dinner. She got Woo-Joo to have fun with Spring. She drives with him. She persuades him to take some days off. She knows he’s tired after Gyu-Tae’s case happened. She asks him to tell it to her if he needs her help. She brings up that he was on her side when she was in trouble because of work. She thinks he can rely on her. She reminds him that they’re all family. But he thinks he doesn’t have any family. He mentions how his family dealt with him. She disagrees with what he said. She knows his father made him sad. But she and Woo-Joo are his family. He brings up that he tried to trust Gyu-Tae. But he got betrayed. He even hurt her. He thinks he wouldn’t happen if he didn’t expect something. He returns to his room. He gets a call from Yoon-Seong.
The next day, Woo-Joo cries. Hyun-Jin holds him. She wonders why his uncle doesn’t come home. They talk a look at Tae-Hyeong’s room. Hyun-Jin tries to feed Woo-Joo. But he spills the food on the floor. She gets a call from Yoon-Seong. Hyun-Jin complains it to Yoon-Seong that she needs to accompany Woo-Joo. He volunteers to come upstairs. He wants to give something to Woo-Joo.
Hyun-Jin opens the door. Yoon-Seong shows her the present that kids like. She thinks he didn’t have to prepare it. He claims that it’s the bonus that he gives her. She accepts it. He’s told that she doesn’t have meal. He offers to have the second date. He cooks for her. He gives the food to her. She’s surprised that he could cook while he cleaned. She mistook that he wouldn’t do housework. He reveals he has been doing such things since childhood. He notices that Woo-Joo likes his toys very much.
Outside, Hyun-Jin and Yoon-Seong blow bubbles together. She thinks he’s good at taking care of kids. He reveals he had many younger brothers and sisters. But she heard that he’s an only child. He told her that he was adopted when he was in middle school. It was his duty to accompany the younger brothers and sisters when he was in the orphanage. He didn’t intend to conceal it from her. He tells her that he wants to be a firm umbrella of her and Woo-Joo. He asks her to give him a chance.
In the prison, Tae-Hyeong is waiting for his father. He remembers Yoon-Seong scolded him after Yoon-Seong knew the reason why Hyun-Jin was hurt. Gyu-Tae shows up. He asks Tae-Hyeong to send some money to him. But Tae-Hyeong doesn’t want to forgive his father. Because he hurt Woo-Jin. He doesn’t allow him to approach Hyun-Jin and Woo-Joo. Tae-Hyeong visits Woo-Jin. He thinks he’s late. He didn’t know Woo-Jin protect him and love him until the very end. He apologizes to him.
The next day, Tae-Hyeong goes to the kindergarten to pick up Woo-Joo. Woo-Joo is very happy. Tae-Hyeong takes Woo-Joo home. Woo-Joo falls asleep. Hyun-Jin returns home. Tae-Hyeong tells her that he’s waiting for her. He decides to return home. He confesses it to her that his house was fixed. She thinks it was because of Gyu-Tae. He denies it. He brings up that they promised that he only lives in her house for one month. He thinks he should leave. She knows he does so because he feels guilty for her. She reminds him that they’re family. But he refuses to be anyone’s family. He thinks she knows what kind of person his father is. He’s the guy’s family. He never experienced what’s love. So he doesn’t know someone is loving him. He thinks he’s not her family. She offers to come up with a way together. But he cannot make it. He doesn’t know how to protect others. He’s not sure if he can take care of her and Woo-Joo. She’s furious to yell at him. She says that she’s not confident as well. So she wanted to live with him. She asks him if he saw her efforts. He persuades her not to work hard for him. He believes that she will regret and be hurt because of him. He leaves the house.
Tae-Hyeong is at home. He sees Woo-Joo’s sock. He remembers he told the kid that he cannot live with him. He worries that he will hurt his aunt. But he’s his uncle forever. He will come to see him. He will take him to fun places. He asks him not to think that he abandoned him.
The next day, Hyun-Jin tries to go out with Woo-Joo. But she sees the notes she left to Tae-Hyeong. At Film Pluto, Moo-Saeng prepares breakfast for Amy Choo. She brings up that she heard it from the lawyer that he agreed to sign the divorce agreement. She mistakes that he wants to sue her. She wonders why he stays at her company. He claims that he’s waiting for Tae-Hyeong to get used to the job. But she wants him to resign.
Hyun-Jin and the team are on the way somewhere. Yoon-Seong feeds her a candy in the van. Gyu-Jung sees it. Tae-Hyeong works with the people of BS Food. He overhears that Yoon-Seong fed Hyun-Jin a candy. He shows his expertise as a photographer. But he protects Hyun-Jin when she’s going to be hit by the ladder. Yoon-Seong takes Hyun-Jin away. She finds out that his back was hurt when he protected her. She worries about him. But he laughs. He thinks it’s just minor scrape.

The next day, Eui-Joon persuades Tae-Hyeong to get together with Hyun-Jin since he loves the girl. But Tae-Hyeong thinks the girl has a man who’s better than him. Hyun-Jin goes to Ae-Ja’s house to pick up Woo-Joo. Ae-Ja learns that Tae-Hyeong moved out. She thinks Hyun-Jin had a fight with Tae-Hyeong. She persuades Hyun-Jin to attend the event with Tae-Hyeong at the kindergarten.
Hyun-Jin and Woo-Joo are at home. Hyun-Jin finds the invitation from the kindergarten. She tries to call Tae-Hyeong. But she gives up the mind. The next day, Hyun-Jin and Woo-Joo go to the kindergarten. They run into Ji-Hyun. Ji-Hyun is surprised that Tae-Hyeong doesn’t come. She thinks Hyun-Jin should have invited the guy. She walks away after her daughter asked her to take photos of her. Hyun-Jin sees the families taking photos together. She remembers she was alone in the school. Yoon-Seong shows up. He holds Woo-Joo.
