The Copenhagen Test Episode 1 Recap: Copenhagen

A helicopter flies in the night sky in The Copenhagen Test episode 1. There’re some soldiers in the helicopter. The captain tells the mission to the soldiers. They need to go to save the hostages in the local militia compound. They will get vehicles once they’re on the ground. He asks Bravo and Nest to provide cover.

The Copenhagen Test Episode 1

Bravo waits outside the house. He sees the extraction getting into the house. The extraction reports that there’re 15 hostages. They all shackled. The extraction saves the hostages. But they’re compromised. The enemy walks out of the house to chase the hostages. Bravo shoots the enemy. He helps the hostages flee. But he’s injured. The captain asks Bravo to return to the helicopter.

Bravo is on the way to the helicopter. But he receives an new order. He’s asked to choose one of the hostages. Because there’s only one seat in the helicopter. The hostage should be an American. Bravo runs in the woods. He finds a hostage. The hostage is a kid. Bravo asks the kid his name. The kid begs Bravo not to hurt him. Bravo tries to take the kid away. But the woman stops him. She asks him to take her away as well. She claims that she’s an American citizen. He remembers the order that he should only choose one hostage.

Three years later, Bravo goes for an interview. He wants to be an Upstairs field operative. The interviewer doesn’t give him an answer. Because they need to talk about it. She brings up that he suffered a panic attack after a mission in Belarus. He reveals it didn’t happen again.

Bravo is on a subway train. He texts his friend that he’s going to come to the gathering. But the message doesn’t send. Bravo meets his friends at the bar. He brings up that the migraine disappeared. The guy thinks the signals being blocked. Another guy agrees with what the first guy said. He thinks it’s the electromagnetism. The girl figures it out that Bravo is a super sensitive person.

Bravo leaves the bar. He goes to another bar to drink. She sees a lady. The lady wears a white dress. She joins her friends. The waitress notices that Bravo is interested in the lady. She persuades him to go to buy the lady a drink. But she’s told that the lady is Bravo’s ex-fiancee. He brings up that he chose to leave when his ex-fiancee didn’t want to see him. It promotes the waitress Michelle to think that he’s noble. But she thinks he’s not noble because he stays.

Michelle reveals her father used to work homicide. He had the highest clearance rate in the entire precinct. His colleagues mistook that he wanted to compete with them. He just wanted to prove something to himself. Because there was a voice making him not sleep. Michelle realizes that Bravo understands her father’s feelings. She pours Bravo a glass of wine. Bravo introduces himself as Alexander.

Alexander walks out of the bar in the evening. His ex-fiancee is waiting for him. She mistakes that he would be good at hiding in a crowd. Because he’s a former sniper. She gives him a bottle of pills. She asks him about his panic attacks. He says that he cannot predict when the panic attacks appear. She brings up that he had migraines. She wonders when it began. He claims that he doesn’t know when he calls her Dr. Kasperian. He guesses it started two months ago. It’s just some stress at work. She thinks what he means is the work at the research library. He cannot let others know that he’s taking anti-anxiety medication. She thinks he can meet someone he can truly be himself with. She’s jealous of the girl. She asks him to find another way to get the pills. Because it’s the last time she helps him.

Alexander is working in his office. The colleague walks into the office. He reveals he’s running point on intelligence for Poseidon. Alexander congratulates the colleague. He realizes that those guys made the decision. The colleague learns that Alexander applied the job as well. He reminds Alexander that he’s the better analysts there. But he’s the first-generation American. It had more risk.

Alexander has a meeting with his colleagues. The boss plays the video of Choi. Choi was found to be killed outside Pyongyang. The boss believes that it was a targeted kill. He guesses the North Koreans discovered that Choi betrayed them. The intel chain is compromised and Upstairs is taken on direct oversight. The Tachyon program is being shut down. He informs those guys that Upstairs is triggering a review of all people in the room. He leaves the room.

The girl wonders why they’re getting reviewed. The guy points out that they lost three assets in North Korea in the past four months. He guesses their communications was hacked. He thinks there’s another reason that someone betrayed them. He believes that Upstairs has known who’s the guy. He comforts the girl that she doesn’t have to worry about it. Because she didn’t take care all the assets.

Alexander meets the madam in the office. She comforts him that they can tell if Choi was hacked. But he worries that there’s something experimental. She tells him that it’s not the problem that he needs to resolve. But he doesn’t give up. He brings up that the three assets had different operators. The only thing they had in common was The Orphanage. She wonders if he accessed to all three files. He reveals many people did it. She thinks he doesn’t have to worry about it. She laughs. He asks her to help him know it if those guys look into him. She claims that she’s just in charge of analyzing signals. So she cannot help him. But she types some words. She informs him that those guys are taking action.

Alexander leaves the madam’s office. He bumps the lady in the lobby. She joins the girl in the monitoring room. She watches Alexander write report in his office. She guesses he wants to pretend nothing happened. The girl orders to shut the guy down.

Alexander’s computer is shut down after he completed his report. The colleague informs him that they’re going to go home. He asks him to leave all his files. He reveals the people who worked on Tachyon are on hold. He thinks he doesn’t have to worry about it. Because it’s just routine.

Alexander visits chef Victor in the kitchen. He tastes the cake. He thinks it’s delicious. Victor asks Alexander about the game. Alexander reveals it carries on without Victor. He wonders if Victor misses it. Victor admits it. Alexander brings up that most people won’t take another job after they retire. Victor doesn’t intend to retire. He notices that Alexander is in trouble. Alexander reveals those guys worried about a potential problem inside the house.

Alexander and Victor go to a room. Victor closes the doors. He wants to tell something to Alexander about the place he works. Alexander reveals he has known that Upstairs watches other agencies. But Victor thinks Alexander doesn’t know how far those guys can go. He reveals he was told about the idea in the White House that the watchmen needed a watcher. People worried about the power of the intelligence community at that time. So St. George built The Orphanage. Alexander mistook that St. George was just a tale. But she’s real. She fashioned the Upstairs as Internal Affairs. But you compromise everyone if you compromise them. You got the whole deck. Every single American intelligence agency would be at risk. Victor points out that those guys cannot tolerate betrayal. Alexander suspects that the people were looking into him. Victor is scared after knowing it. He suggests that Alexander should flee. But Alexander doesn’t intend to do that. He thinks he’s innocent. Victor reminds his friend that the case isn’t related to the due process. He thinks Alexander is over it those guys suspect him. He brings up the suffering Alexander’s parents gave to Alexander.

Alexander returns home. His father calls him. He reveals he’s driving in a Veteran’s Day parade in honor of Alexander. He wrote a letter to those guys. He explained it to them what Alexander’s service meant to the family. He expressed how they’re proud of their son. Alexander tries to thank his parents in Chinese. But his mother asks him to use English. Alexander hangs up after he told his parents that he loves them. He receives a message from Essex Library. He’s asked to come to the library on Monday.

Alexander goes to the library. He’s told that those guys found the leak after he got into the meeting room. The boss reveals the asset betrayed them. He brings up that the Upstairs found out that Choi betrayed them, according to Alexander’s suggestion. He’s sure that the operational chain isn’t compromised. Alexander points out that the data sources have been redacted. But the colleague doesn’t trust the intel. He suspects that someone tried to cover their tracks. But the boss reminds the guy that Upstairs is very confident in their findings. He informs the people that they will get new tasks soon.

Alexander tries to leave the meeting room after the meeting. But the boss stops Alexander. He asks him to go to Upstairs when he throws the file to him. Alexander opens the file. He sees the Claymore plan. The boss knows nothing about the plan. He guesses Alexander was chosen because of his report. Alexander doesn’t think so. He mentions he didn’t think Choi betrayed them in his report. The boss points out that Alexander helped them find the evidence. Alexander doesn’t believe that Choi was the leak. Because Choi reported to them on everyone in the lab. It promotes the boss to think that Upstairs was wrong. Alexander guesses that their enemies have a new way to gather information. But the boss thinks Upstairs knows it. He asks Alexander to learn to accept it.

The lady Ellie welcomes Alexander in the lobby. She introduces herself as the admin support for Claymore. He shakes hands with her. But she asks him not to be charming. Because she doesn’t have time for an office crush. She reveals they’re going to go to the Eisenhower Wing. She asks him not to touch anything. She gives him a key.

Alexander uses the key to open the doors of the Upstairs. He gets into the Upstairs with Ellie. She takes him into his office. She reveals they’re testing a source to see if their intel is good. He’s told that the source is MOSIAC.

Alexander returns home. He remembers he didn’t save the American lady when she thought she will be killed. He conceals his medicine. He goes to the bar. He tells Michelle that he got promoted. The promotion is what he wanted. She thinks he was lucky. But she sees that he feels guilty because he thinks he doesn’t deserve it. She persuades him to accept it. She asks him to leave the bar. They walk about the travel. She writes down her number. They don’t know the Upstairs is watching them.

Alexander returns home. He reads a book. He sees the words “The Copenhagen Test”. He realizes that his loyalty was tested. Alexander is on the subway. He texts Victor. He wants to talk with him about what happened three years ago. But Victor refuses to see Alexander. He persuades him to go travel.

Alexander goes to the Upstairs. He doesn’t scan in. He suspects the people in the office are watching him. He searches the Surveillance Pilot Programs. He sees the word “Migraine”. The girl sees Alexander checking the file in the monitoring room. She realizes that the guy discovered what they’re doing to him. She contacts Director Moira immediately. The guy plans to get Ellie to go to stop Alexander. But the girl thinks it’s not a good idea. She thinks they have to let Alexander finish it.

Alexander destroys the papers after he checked it. The guy mistakes that Alexander didn’t find it out. But the girl knows Alexander is acting. Director Moira orders to send a wet team to Alexander’s apartment. Alexander will be killed if he intends to flee.

Alexander runs into Ellie in the office. He claims that he’s going to go to buy a cup of coffee. But he doesn’t walk to the coffee cart. He goes to the elevator bank. He reaches the first floor. The killer Remy shows up behind Alexander. He carries a gun. Moira asks Remy to intercept Alexander. But the girl knows Alexander will be back.

Moira visits St. George. He reports to her that they have a problem. Alexander visits the madam in the office. He thanks her for giving him advice. But he gives her a note. He reveals he was targeted. Alexander returns to his office. Ellie takes him to go to do the briefing.

Alexander gets into the cage. The woman returns the note to him. She wonders how long he has betrayed the nation. He denies it. She asks him to explain it to her about the gun he hid in the book. He claims that he did it because they watched him. She wonders when he was hacked. She shows him the Wi-Fi signal streaming from his head. She thinks he’s the mole. But he shows loyalty even if he knows he cannot leave the room today. The woman walks out of the room. She tells Moira that Alexander can be trusted.

Moira gets into the room. He meets Alexander. Alexander agrees to work with Moira for dealing with their enemies. He runs into his colleague Cobb in the lobby. He reveals he’s doing Claymore. He works at Victor’s restaurant in the evening. He tells Victor that he has resolved the problem. Someone is waiting them behind the screen.
