Klein Moretti is a Nighthawk in the world of Lord of Mysteries. He and Leonard Mitchell guard the city Tingen under the captain Dunn Smith’s wise leadership. They foil the plot of the Secret Order and they prevent the son of the evil god from being born. The people in the city should thank the Nighthawks. But they know nothing about what the Nighthawks paid. Dunn thinks they’re just some poor people. But he still wants to carry out his beliefs to guard the city. Klein knew nothing about guardian when he was Zhou Mingrui. He was just a ordinary office worker who complained about the salary and he didn’t want to work overtime. He changes his mind after he witnessed the woman passing away because of work.
Klein plans to stay in Tingen all his life. He gets a good job and he has his family. Melissa Moretti is Klein’s sister. The girl doesn’t waste money even if Klein got a good job. She knows she needs to save for her brother. Because he will get married one day. She finds out that her brother is interested in her friend Elizabeth when they attend Selena Wood’s birthday party together. She thinks Elizabeth will be a good wife. Because the girl is rich and pretty. But Elizabeth is too young.
Dunn Smith’s Death
Dunn Smith is a respectable man in Lord of Mysteries. He knows Klein when he looks into the deaths of Welch McGovern and Naya. He finds Klein’s photo from Welch’s house. He suspects Klein immediately because Klein was the last one who saw Welch and Naya. He finds the guy’s house without any problem because Klein is Welch and Naya’s classmate. They studied Antigonus Family’s Notebook together. But Klein left because he needed to prepare for an interview. Klein is concealing the weapon when Dunn visits him. Dunn brings up Welch and Naya’s deaths. He asks the guy to explain what he did after he left Welch’s house. Klein cannot explain it. Because the original Klein Moretti is dead. He’s just a transmigrator Zhong Mingrui.
Klein knows he will be arrested if he confesses that he’s a transmigrator. But he tells Dunn that he forgot everything after he tried to kill himself with the revolver. It’s an obvious lie. Dunn knows Klein will be in danger if they leave. Because Klein touched the notebook. But Dunn has other work. He reveals he’s a Beyonder who works for the Church of the Evernight Goddess. He invites Klein to join the Nighthawks. The guy joins Blackthorn Security Company. He becomes a Nighthawk. Klein wishes to be a Beyonder because he wants to go home. But he cannot make the decision because there’re so many Beyonder jobs. He reads the notes of Roselle Gustav by chance. The emperor recommends Seer. Klein becomes a Seer after he took the potion. But Dunn thinks the job isn’t good because the job’s fighting power is zero.
Klein knows he needs to act Seer if he wants to consume the potion. It’s also a good way to prevent him from losing control. He joins a divination club. One day, a client visits him with her niece Megose. Megose is pregnant. She mistakes that the baby’s father is her rich boyfriend Lanevus. She doesn’t know the baby’s father is the evil god True Creator. True Creator doesn’t have feelings for the girl. But he wants to come into the world. He had a deal with Lanevus. Dunn knows it, according to the letter Lanevus left. He takes out Saint Selena’s Ashes when Megose visits the Blackthorn Security Company with the son of Evil God. The Nighthawks are no match for Megose. Dunn has to put his heart in Saint Selena’s Ashes. Saint Selena’s Ashes unleashes tremendous power. Megose and the Son of Evil God are killed. But Dunn passes away because he lost his heart. He tells Klein that they guarded Tingen again. Klein is very sad because he knows he cannot see the captain anymore.
Ince Zangwill Is The Mastermind Behind All The Incidents
Ince Zangwill was an Archbishop of the Church of the Evernight Goddess. But he failed to become a Nightwatcher. He knew he needs to get Saint Selena’s Ashes if he wants to be a Nightwatcher. But the Church of the Evernight Goddess wouldn’t give the Sealed Artifact to him. He visited the Sealed Artifact 0-08. He proposed cooperation. 0-08 the Quill of Alzuhod agreed to work for Ince because he wanted to achieve his goal as well. They betrayed the Church of the Evernight Goddess. They targeted Dunn. They knew the man will take out Saint Selena’s Ashes and sacrifice himself when the city Tingen is in danger.
Klein knew someone is behind all the incidents in Lord of Mysteries. But he didn’t who the person was. Because everything was too coincidental. He’s sad after Dunn left the world. Someone appears suddenly. He shoots Klein’s heart and he takes away Saint Selena’s Ashes. Klein is killed. Leonard and the Nighthawks hold a funeral for Klein and the captain. Melissa knows her brother is dead. She’s very sad. But she doesn’t know her brother resurrects soon. Klein crawls out of his grave. He knows the Gray Fog Space saved him. Because he was saved by it many times. He’s a dead now. So he cannot return to the Blackthorn Security Company. Because he knows the Church of the Evernight Goddess will be interested in his resurrection.
Klein finds Dunn’s grave. He cries for the captain. He decides to find the enemy. He goes to the mysterious space above the Gray Fog. He divines the mastermind. He learns that the previous Archbishop Ince arranged the death of Dunn. He wants to take revenge for his captain. But he knows he’s just a sequence eight. He’s not the rival of a sequence five. He decides to advance. But he cannot return to the Blackthorn Security Company. Because he cannot explain why he’s alive. He decides to go to Backlund Because he knows he will find the potion of his next sequence in the captain.
Leonard is very sad after knowing Klein and Dunn were killed. He feels guilty because he passed out when his colleagues were fighting the evil. He decides to take revenge for his colleagues. But he doesn’t know Klein is alive. He returns to the Blackthorn Security Company. The secretary reports to him that the headquarters sent them a message when they were fighting Megose. Leonard reads the message. He learns that Ince was the mastermind. He decides to deal with the man. But Ince left Tingen. Leonard needs to leave Tingen if he wants to catch Ince. But he cannot leave the city as long as he’s a Nighthawk. He decides to join the Red Gloves. He can go to Backlund once he joins the group.
Melissa And Benson’s Safety
Zhou Mingrui comes from prehistoric world. He transmigrates after Klein committed suicide. He wants to return home even if he has family in the world of Lord of Mysteries. Melissa doesn’t know her brother is dead. But Zhou Mingrui thinks he has a responsibility to take care of Melissa and Benson. He knows Benson shouldered a lot before he came to the world. So he joins Nighthawks. He has a good salary when he’s a Nighthawk. He rents a big house for the family. But Ince breaks the happiness. He’s a selfish and cruel man who can hurt everybody for his advancement.
Zhou Mingrui knows Ince will find him as long as he stays in Tingen. The man will find his family in the Sealed Artifact 0-08’s help. Melissa and Benson won’t be fine. The two are just ordinary people. Ince is a sequence four Nightwatcher after he took Saint Selena’s Ashes. So Zhou Mingrui leaves the city without saying goodbye to Melissa and Benson. The two mistake that Klein is dead. They’re sad. They know they need to continue to live. But Klein disappears from their lives.

Rosago thinks the task will be easy after knowing Klein is just a sequence eight. He disguises himself as a chief police. He visits Klein. He pretends to remind the guy to be careful. But he controls him. Klein realizes that Bakerland sent a sequence five to get rid of him. But he prepared for it.
Sharron appears when Rosago controls Klein. She’s the bodyguard Klein hired. He paid her 1,000 pounds. She promised to protect him for three days. Rosago is very powerful. He uses his ability to control Sharron as well. But Sharron gains time for Klein. Klein catches the chance to throw the True Creator’s item at Rosago. Rosago is killed by the Beyonder who he looked down. He still doesn’t believe it before he passes away. Sharron and Klein don’t waste Rosago’s body. They get the potion formulas from the man. Bakerland is killed as well when Klein is getting benefits from Rosago’s body. Audrey Hall hired Mr. A to kill Bakerland with 10,000 pounds. Mr. A completes the task perfectly.
