Choubei turns into an immortal. He uses his tentacles to attack Gabimaru in Hell’s Paradise Season 2 episode 2. Gabimaru resists it with his flame arts. Choubei is taken to a dark vortex. He sees the ninja in the vortex. He doesn’t understand why he sees it. He thinks he and the ninja is fighting. He gets angry when he looks at the vortex.
Outside Choubei’s body, Choubei continues to attack Gabimaru. Gantetsusai wonders why Gabimaru doesn’t use the Taoism since he’s going to be burned to ashes. Mei reveals Gabimaru cannot use Taoism. Because he doesn’t remember that his rival’s Taoism is very huge. She thinks the guy cannot win.
Gabimaru knows he cannot win as well if he doesn’t do something. He will be over if he uses Fire Mage again. He knows someone will replace him if he dies. So he needs to get rid of the obstacle. It’s the priority consideration to kill Choubei. Gabimaru’s wife fails to stop Gabimaru. He rushes to Choubei. His face is bleeding. Gantetsusai wonders what Gabimaru wants to do. Fuchi guesses the guy’s goal is pardon. But it’s meaningless if he dies. Fuchi thinks Gabimaru and Choubei lose themselves. Touma is shocked after knowing the truth. He wonders why his brother does it. He realizes that Choubei does it for him. He cries. He thinks he doesn’t deserve it.
Touma runs to Choubei. He wakes up his brother. Gabimaru sees the chance. He tries to burn the two. But Mei makes a ground subsidence. Choubei falls into the subsidence. He asks Touma to wait for him. Gantetsusai stops Mei. She’s tired to pass out in his arms. Fuchi drags the Taoist priest to Gantetsusai. He wonders what happened. They find out that Mei turned into a pretty girl. Fuchi offers to dissect Mei for knowing the truth. Gantetsusai scolds Fuchi.
Sagiri and her team walk out of the house. They see the Buddha statues lining the road. Sagiri thinks it’s weird. Shion hears the sound that he never heard. He thinks the demons hide in the city. Yuzuriha wonders who made the illusion of mystery on the island. Houko is carried by Sagiri. He reveals it’s the Life Testing Ground. He believes that the humans who can kill the immortals will change the island. He wonders if he can maintain himself at that time.
Sagiri’s team and Gabimaru’s team run into each other at the gate of the city. Sagiri finds out that Gabimaru was hurt and Touma is tied up by a rope. Houko figures it out that Mei used her power. Fuchi is surprised that the wood can speak. Houko thanks those guys for helping him be reunited with Mei. He guesses they came from the lair of Kitchen Gods. Gantetsusai thinks what Houko means is the monsters. He reveals he killed them all. Houko sees the Taoist priest Fuchi beat down. He’s shocked. Fuchi reveals he killed the other two Taoist priests. He wonders the Taoist priest can speak since he has only his head left.
Shion learns that only eight people survived. It’s less than half of the landing force. Gantetsusai points out that Yuzuriha survived. Shion thinks they should leave the place. But Gabimaru cannot walk. Sagiri mentions Mei. She turns around. She sees the girl. Mei is weak. Sagiri takes care of Mei. Shion feels regret for the deaths of those guys. Gantetsusai tells Shion that his sentimentality is boring. He thinks they should have killed each other until only one person remains. Because they’re sinners. He wonders if Shion thought executioner can be happy to embark on the journey home. Shion admits that he thought so ever. Gantetsusai points at Touma. He thinks the guy is a rat dung. He didn’t kill him. But Touma doesn’t speak.
Gantetsusai tries to kill Touma. But Sagiri stops Gantetsusai. She guesses Touma has his reasons. She claims that she won’t let anyone die in front of her. She’s ready to fight Gantetsusai. Yuzuriha stops the two. She reminds them that Gabimaru is going to die. Sagiri realizes that they should heal Gabimaru. She mistakes that he lose consciousness because he was serious injured. Gantetsusai reveals he stunned Gabimaru after Gabimaru went berserk.
Shion guesses Gabimaru overused Taoism. He thinks he will disappear anytime. Fuchi reveals they tried many methods. But the wound isn’t healing. Fuchi thinks the life core was hurt. Gabimaru forces himself to stand up. He doesn’t recognize Sagiri and his friends. Sagiri asks Gabimaru about his injury. She tries to touch him. But he stops her. He asks her not to care for him. He claims that he’s fine. Yuzuriha shows up behind Sagiri. She thinks Gabimaru is heartless like before. Shion reminds Gabimaru that he will die if he ignores his injury. Gabimaru says that he doesn’t care for his death. Sagiri is shocked to ask him who he is. He tells her that he’s Gabimaru. He attacks her. Shion and Fuchi block the attack for Sagiri. Gabimaru steps back. Fuchi asks Sagiri what happened. She thinks the abnormal Taoism confused Gabimaru’s memory. The person isn’t what they know.
Shion detects Gabimaru. He thinks Sagiri is right that the guy’s soul is severely depleted. Sagiri realizes that Gabimaru has fought since he left her. She asks Shion to leave it to her. She walks to Gabimaru. He wants to kill her. But he’s upset when he sees her. She tells him that he loses memory. She thinks he can restore his memory if the compatible Taoism intervenes. She asks him not to be on guard. Because she’s not his enemy. She tries to introduce herself to him. But she remembers she told him that she’s not his ally. She tells him that she’s his precious companion. She asks him to trust her. She tries to touch him. But he keeps shaking off her hand. She’s furious to get him to lie on the ground. She finds out that he used too much Taoism. She thinks it’s not appropriate that they’re precious companions. She’s shy to tell him that they’re not the superficial relationship.
Sagiri thinks Gabimaru needs her power. She tells him to push her away if he doesn’t need it. Gantetsusai watches the two fight. He thinks it’s a sleeping art. Fuchi denies it. Mei thinks the art is like sleeping art. It restores the cycle of Taoism though skin contact. Yuzuriha doesn’t expect that Sagiri has the side. Gabimaru feels that his physical strength is recovering. Sagiri reminds him that he needs to see someone. He remembers his wife.
Choubei rolls down the hill. His arm recovers. He remembers the Taoism devoured him and he lost himself. He thinks it was the dangerous power that he cannot understand. He thinks nobody can defeat him as long as he masters it. The monsters show up. Choubei decides to eat them.
Sagiri and her team get into the cave. Nurugai thinks the monsters cannot hurt them when they hide in the cave. Gantetsusai brags that he found the perfect cave. But Shion thinks they shouldn’t let their guards down. Because the immortals not only sense them with their eyes. Gantetsusai thinks Shion is a coward. He wonders if he is afraid of those immortals. Yuzuriha tells Gantetsusai that he’s ignorant. She mentions they just killed one immortal. She believes that they will be found by other immortals since it’s the immortals’ territory.
Shion guesses Gabimaru saw the immortals. Gabimaru admits that he saw those guys at the city gate. Sagiri realizes that Gabimaru restores his memory. She’s very happy. He apologizes to her for bringing the trouble. But he masters the power of Taoism. He figures it out that the immortals are scary because they can use Taoism easily. Yuzuriha persuades the people to leave the island. She believes that they will survive if they explain it to Shogunate. But Gabimaru wants to get the pardon so that he can see his wife. He’s told that what he saw is the illusion.

Yuzuriha tells Gabimaru that Shogunate faked his wife for controlling him like a puppet. She reveals Iwagakure Chief came up with the trick. He thinks he will know the truth after he returns home. He doesn’t change his goal. The goal is finding the immortal medicine. But she doesn’t want to risk her life. She thinks it’s meaningless if his wife is dead. But he believes that his wife is alive. So she asks him to prove it.
Gabimaru cannot prove it. He thinks the only way is to leave the island. Sagiri agrees with what he said. But Gantetsusai blames Gabimaru for getting others involved for his lover. He likes him. He thinks he’s a real man. Although he’s chasing his ambition, he agrees to help Gabimaru when he’s free. He thinks they need to defeat those monsters. He laughs. Yuzuriha thinks Gabimaru shouldn’t have exposed his weakness. Shion reveals the Taoism reacted when Gabimaru spoke. He thinks Gabimaru has a lot of Taoism. Choubei eats the monsters in the valley. Rien shows up suddenly. He asks Choubei if he killed Mu Dan.
