Frieren, Fern and Stark arrive at the village in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 episode 2. The old man asks them to wipe the statue of the hero. But Frieren asks for the payment. Fern and Stark are surprised. The old man takes out the parchment. He tempts Frieren with the magic that itching on the back after scratching. She makes a deal with him.
In Fabel Village, the hero team walks in the village. Stark learns that they got such a task again. Fern mentions Himmel’s statue is everywhere. He points out that the menial job is funny. He’s full of fighting spirit. But Frieren says that they don’t have to use their precious hands to wipe the bronze statue. Because magic can do the job. Stark won’t have a chance to show up.
The three arrive at the statue. Stark is shocked after he saw the uncle statue. He doesn’t know who the guy is. Frieren learns that the two saw the person for the first time. She reveals the person is the Hero of the South. Although Himmel defeated the demon king, hero isn’t just him. Many heroes challenged the demon king ever. The Hero of the South was called the strongest hero. Stark thinks it’s an exaggeration. She denies it. She thinks the title suits the person perfectly. The greatest threat to humanity were the Seven Sages of Destruction at that time. Frieren only defeated Two Sages of Destruction. The rest Five Sages of Destruction survived because they fled or went missing. Fern guesses Aura the Guillotine is one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. The rest Three Sages of Destruction were killed by the Hero of the South. The hero only spent one year to eliminate the front line troops of Demon King Army. He even reached the hub of the supply route of Demon King Army. That is the northernmost point of Northern Plateau. He encountered Demon King’s confidant there. The confidant Schlacht the Omniscient could control the magic that sees through the Future of a Thousand Years Hence. He gathered all the Seven Sages of Destruction there to attack the hero.
Fern thinks it’s terrifying after knowing the Hero of the South fought all the Seven Sages of Destruction. The hero died with Schlacht the Omniscient after he killed the Three Sages of Destruction. A lot of people in the area were liberated from the control of the Seven Sages of Destruction because of the fight. So they’re deeply devoted to the Hero of the South. Because the body of the Hero of the South wasn’t found. There’s a tale that the hero is still fighting Schlacht the Omniscient. Frieren mentions the Hero was fighting the demons who eat humans. She guesses he was eaten by the demons. She takes out her wand. She offers to clean the statue.
It flashes back. Hero of the South meets Frieren in the forest. He asks her to go to defeat Demon King with him. She rejects it. She thinks they cannot win. He reveals he didn’t know how to convince her. She learns that he knew the result early. He admits it to her that he knew it. He thinks it’s fine even if he leaks it to her. He believes that she won’t tell it to anyone even if she knows his secret. So he only tells it to her. He reveals he’s the strongest human because he can see the future. But she doesn’t react much. He mistakes that she doesn’t believe his words. She says that she’s not interested in it. He leaks another thing that she might be interested in. He mentions Seven Sages of Destruction. He reveals he will be attacked by Schlacht the Omniscient and Seven Sages of Destruction in the northern plateau one year later. He will die in the end.
Hero of the South tells Frieren not to mind it. He thinks his future won’t be changed even if she leaves with him. There will be a young hero visiting her soon. The one who saves the world is him, though it’s not his original intention. She will embark on the journey with those young people. They will defeat Demon King. She doesn’t believe that things will turn out that way. He tells her that she will know it once she sees the guy. The guy will change her life. Hero of the South asks Frieren to pass on a message to the new hero. What he wants her to pass on to the new hero is that he will open up a road. He thinks his great achievements will be swept away by history.
At present, Frieren takes a look at the statue of Hero of the South. She mentions what he said that he can see the future. But the people in the village still remember him. She thinks he left his name in history.
Frieren’s team goes to Graf Dach’s Domain. Stark mentions they didn’t visit big city for a long time. But Frieren decides to leave after they resupply. He wants to hang out there. He pays attention to the magic store. She ignores the magic store. She reminds him that time is limited. She buys some foods. She puts it into her suitcase. He offers to go to have some snacks before they leave. She points out that their travel expenses aren’t enough. She walks away with her suitcase. Fern notices that Frieren was weird after she came to the place. Stark mentions Frieren wanted to stay for a few months after she reached big cities. He and Fern follow Frieren. They run into a man. Frieren learns that she misses the chance. The man recognizes her. He reveals the lord invites her to attend the party. She makes an excuse that they’re in a hurry. The man tells Stark and Fern that Frieren was one of the heroes who saved the domain ever. The lord wants to thank her.
Frieren’s team has dinner with the earl at the earl’s castle in the evening. Stark tastes the food. He likes it very much because it’s delicious. Fern can tell that Frieren is reluctantly. Dach brings up that Frieren took care of his grandpa. He reveals the Ancestral Sword of his family was stolen by demons. Frieren is surprised that the sword was stolen again. She gets his point. She asks him to pay her a magic book.
Frieren’s team leaves Dach’s castle. Frieren complains it to her teammates that the nobles of Northern Lands are tough to deal with. She reveals the lord’s family liked to make unreasonable demands. She remembers the former lord threatened her and her team that he will throw them into prison if they don’t take the sword back. Fortunately, she knows where the demons fled. The situation is better than the situation last time. They didn’t have any clue last time. It was tough to look for the sword. The sword was found on the mountain top.
Stark pities Frieren after he heard her story. Fern wonders why the demon stole the sword. Frieren reveals the sword belonged to a famous demon. She guesses the sword is charming that only demons can understand. Fern is surprised that Frieren accepted the task. She mistook that she would reject it. Frieren had no choice. Because the sword was found by Himmel. Himmel’s efforts are for nothing if she rejected. She thinks Himmel wouldn’t ignore it.
The next day, Frieren’s team goes to look for the sword. They get into an abandoned village. They only see a priest in the village. Stark introduces themselves as adventurers to the priest. She reveals the village was destroyed by the sword demon. She was mourning the villagers. Frieren believes that the demon is what they’re looking for. The priest heard that the people in the village were killed by the demon. She invites the adventurers to pray for the people.
Stark and Fern try to pray. But Frieren hits the grave with her magic. She doesn’t see any bodies in the grave. She points out that the priest is the sword demon. She guesses the priest didn’t leave any bodies. The priest confesses that she killed those guys for eating them. She claims that she had no choice for survival. She pulls out her sword. Frieren points out that the demon could eat non-human. But the demon insists on eating human.
Frieren fails to persuade the demon. She asks the teammates to kill the demon. She uses the magic to shoot the demon. The demon dodges the attack. She jumps into the air. She attacks Frieren from above. A series of explosions. Stark and the demon cut each other with their swords. Frieren catches the chance to hit the demon with her magic. But the demon dodges it again. She’s very flexible. She carries her sword and rushes to Frieren. Fern creates a barrier for blocking the demon. But the demon breaks through the barrier. Stark strikes the demon before his girlfriend is hurt. He knocks the demon away. He claims that he exists for the moment. Frieren releases a beam of light to the demon in the air. The demon disappears. The sword is there.
It flashes back. Himmel kills the demon. Frieren feels cold. She thinks it’s a tormenting task. He points out that they eliminated the demon. He walks to the sword. He pulls out the sword from the ground. He lifts the sword. He thinks they saved many people after they accepted the task. He claims that he won’t abandon people in need. Heiter tells Frieren that Himmel likes to deal with troublesome tasks. Himmel confesses that he’s excited when he thinks about the difficulty.
At present, Frieren lands on the ground. She praises Fern and Stark. Fern wonders why Frieren used the brutal method. Frieren explains it to Fern that she did it because she was praying. She reminds her that she would close her eyes when she prayed for the deceased. She believes that the demon caught the chance to kill the travelers.
Frieren’s team returns to the castle. They give the sword to the lord. The lord thanks Frieren. He thinks the city will be safe. Outside the castle, Frieren asks the butler to take them to the market. Fern is in the carriage. She mentions the earl was very happy. Stark wishes the sword won’t be stolen again. She believes that the sword will be targeted again since the sword is charming. Frieren agrees with what Fern said. She mentions the sword was attacked by demons many times. Stark learns that demons will visit as long as the sword is there. He offers to throw away the sword since it’s so dangerous. But Frieren says that it’s not that simple. She reveals it will be more troublesome once a demon gets the sword. The demon will show the power he just gets.

Fern remembers the destroyed village. She realizes that it’s demons’ nature. Frieren reveals the demon made a big scene when the sword was stolen last time. The demon destroyed a town and three villages. The servant of the earl’s family fell for the demon’s sweet talk. He drew the demon into the castle.
Frieren arrives at the market. She thinks it’s the mission of the whole city. Stark wonders if there was a mole helping the demon. She doesn’t know it. But humans have desires. So they will make the same mistake again. Fern persuades Frieren to help the city again. But Frieren wants to make the decision after she sees the payment. What she means is that her service isn’t free. Stark figures it out that the lady will get another magic book again. She admits it. She reveals she got a good magic book. He’s interested in the magic. He asks her about it. She visits the fruit store. She smells the red apple. She says that the magic can turn red apple into green apple. He thinks the magic is boring.
