Frieren, Fern and Stark walk in the mountain in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 episode 3. Stark notices that it’s been getting warmer lately. Frieren explains it to Stark that it’s a warm place in Northern Lands. Because the area is Volcanic Region. Fern figures it out that they are going to have hot springs to take a bath. Frieren guesses they’re going to arrive the next village soon. She offers to soak in hot springs after they arrive.

Stark complains it to Frieren that they walked a long way. He doesn’t see the village. She remembers the village is in this area. She looks for the village. Fern sees a cabin. She reports it to Frieren. Frieren only sees a single house. She has bad feelings.
Frieren and Fern are at the house. They watch Stark have fun with the kids. The house owner mentions the village was abandoned thirty years ago. Adventurer didn’t visit anymore after the hot spring dried up. Fern feels it was a pity. Frieren thinks human village will disappear as long as they don’t pay attention to it. They have to endure until they reach the next town, soaking in hot springs. Stark wonders how long they will arrive the next town when he carries the kid. She says that they need a week. Fern isn’t happy after she heard the answer. Stark drops the kid. He wonders if there’re hot springs nearby.
The house owner heard it from his grandfather that there’s a secret hot spring in the mountains. Frieren realizes that what he meant is Etwas Mountains. Fern wonders if Frieren knows the secret hot spring. Frieren isn’t sure if the place is there. Because it’s in the remote mountains. She thinks they should go to another town. They will soak in the hot springs there. Fern asks Stark what he thinks. He says that he heard the secret hot spring in Etwas Mountains somewhere. He remembers something. He wants to go to the place. But Frieren doesn’t want to waste time on the secret hot spring. He insists on going to take a look at the place since they came all the way. She agrees.
Frieren’s team says goodbye to the family. They cross a log bridge. They go camping in the forest in the evening. They grill fish. The next day, they set out once more. Frieren helps Fern climb the cliff. Stark kills a wild boar. They go camping again in the evening. The next day, they set out the third time. Frieren sees the sign. She reveals they’re going to arrive at the secret hot spring. She walks away. Fern follows Frieren. She notices that her master isn’t interested in it. Frieren admits it. She leaks that she and Himmel went to the place ever. They wasted a lot of time in Etwas Mountains.
It flashes back. The hero party is on the way to the secret hot spring. Frieren wants to go home. Eisen has same feelings.
At present, Fern walks Frieren. She’s surprised that Himmel went to the place as well. Frieren reveals Himmel wouldn’t give up if he didn’t search each corner.
It flashes back. Heiter complains it to Himmel that Himmel promised only talking a walk. But Himmel is excited. He believes that there’s something there. He pulls Heiter up the steep slope. He says that his intuition is telling him about it.
At present, Frieren tells Fern that the road to the secret hot spring was tough. They needed to go through the territory of the Prickly Monsters. The dragon appears on the castle. Stark says that he hasn’t seen dragon for a long time. But Frieren tells him that it’s not dragon. She adds that it’s the demon who’s like lizard. Fern notices that the demon is excited. Frieren isn’t surprised that the demon has the reaction. Because his territory was broken into by someone. He will regenerate if they don’t cut off his three heads at the same time. Stark is furious to yell at the elf after knowing the truth.
The demon jumps off the castle. He charges toward the team. Stark is ready for the fight. But Frieren asks him to run. She says that she has a good idea. He wonders what is her idea. But the demon is in front of him. He has to run, according to Frieren’s plan. The demon chases Stark. Frieren and Fern watch the scene in the air. Frieren asks Fern to target different heads with her. She orders her to kill the demon with minimum attacks. After all, the demon will regenerate if they don’t catch the chance. Frieren tries to fly away. But Fern asks her master about her good idea. Frieren reveals she planned to take action when the demon attacks Stark.
Stark screams when he’s chased by the demon. He’s so pitiful. He doesn’t know he’s used by the elf for her victory. But he deserves it. Because he was the one who insisted on coming to the secret hot spring. He becomes a bait of the elf. He’s hit by the demon. He passes out.
Stark wakes up on the ground. The demon disappears after Frieren and Fern killed him. Stark realizes that Frieren treated him as a bait. Frieren lands on the ground. She praises Stark and Fern.
The three climb to the top of the mountain. Fern and Stark are very tired. Frieren mentions what she told the two to go to the next town. It seems she was right. Fern and Stark see the secret hot spring.
The team is at the hot spring. Stark puts his hand in the water. He discovers that the water is very shallow. Fern thinks it’s just a foot bath. Frieren mentions what she said that it’s not worth coming. But Stark thinks it’s good. Because they can take a bath together since it’s a foot bath. He puts his feet into the hot spring. Frieren agrees with what Stark said. She and Fern put their feet into the hot spring as well. The three watch the sunrise. Fern thinks the scenery is beautiful. She wonders why Stark wanted to come to the place. He reveals he heard it from his master.
It flashes back. Eisen and Stark have breakfast at home. Eisen mentions there was only foot bath in the secret hot spring of Etwas Mountains. He thinks it’s not worth spending so much effort. It was a boring adventure. But he thinks it’s amazing that the boring adventure he experienced with his partners, becoming the irreplaceable memories that stay in his mind. He cannot forget the landscape.
At present, Fern learns that Stark knew the case of the secret hot spring. He confesses it to her that he wanted to see the landscape that his master saw. He thinks the landscape is great. They descend the mountain in the evening. They roll down the mountain. Fern presses Frieren and Stark on the ground. She thinks the way back is hard as well.
The next day, Frieren soaks in the hot spring in the Fortified City. She feels great. The madam is in the hot spring as well. She’s surprised that the young girl likes hot spring as well. Fern and Stark are in the room at the hotel. Stark opens the window. He sees Himmel’s statue and some kids who have fun. Fern brings up that Frieren has soaked in the hot spring after she came to the town. Stark reveals the elf only went to magic store even if she went out. Fern is reading a book. She knows Frieren plans to stay two more days. Stark sits on the bed. He thinks Frieren was much more restrained. Fern thinks the elf did it because she reminded her. She believes that she will be free tomorrow. Stark agrees with what the beauty said. He reveals he plans to go to the weapons shop tomorrow. He wants to ask the shop owner to sharpen his axe. She interrupts him. She mentions what she said that she’s free tomorrow. Stark is a fool. He doesn’t know Fern is giving him a chance. She asks him to care for her. She thinks he’s not smart. He doesn’t understand why she’s in anger. He mistakes that she’s attacking him. He decides to fight it back. He offers to have a dating tomorrow since she wants him to care for her. The book falls on the floor. He realizes that the model isn’t good. He has an illusion that she keeps hitting his head. He mistakes that he’s over. But she stands up from the chair. She gets his point. She says that she will see him tomorrow. She walks to the door. She opens the door. She leaves the room. He gets out of bed and he picks up the book. He doesn’t understand why she acted so.
Frieren walks out of the bathroom with an ice pop. She sees Stark staying outside Fern’s room. The guy tries to knock at the door. But he lacks guts. He holds Fern’s book. He blows it. He turns around. He sees the elf who’s licking her ice pop. She bites the ice pop.
Stark and Frieren have meal on the first floor of the hotel. Stark believes that Fern got angry. He doesn’t know what to do. Frieren eats the meat skewers. She wonders if the guy knows who he’s discussing with. He apologizes to her for asking her the hard question. But she thinks it’s not hard at all. She claims that she’s the big sister. So she knows a girl’s heart. He asks her what she will think if he asks her out. She learns that he grew up. She reveals she might buy him a meal if she’s happy. He thinks what she said isn’t worth considering. He tells her that she’s the grandma who takes her grandson to go out to have fun. She reminds him that he called her grandma the second time. She doesn’t allow him to call her the name the third time. It promotes him to wonder what will happen if he does it the third time. She says that she will cry. It’s terrifying when she loses her temper. Even the hero Himmel would be shaking with fright.
It flashes back. Frieren cries in the room at the hotel. Himmel, Eisen and Heiter watch her cry. She cries for three days and nights. Himmel thinks it’s terrifying.
At present, Stark wonders if it’s what a big sister should do. Frieren drinks up the beer. She wonders if Stark wants to date Fern. He cannot cancel it. So he wants to know if Fern has a favorite place. She offers to go to the place to take a look. Because she knows the place Fern likes.
Frieren and Stark walk out of the hotel. Frieren thinks they should let Fern eat something in the market. Because Fern will be in a bad mood if she’s hungry. She reveals Fern has liked snacks since childhood. Stark and Frieren visit the Jewelry Store. Stark takes a look at the hairpin. Frieren tells him that Fern likes the store as well. Fern likes to eat baked pastries. But she would change her hobbies sometimes. Frieren asks Stark to prepare a few plans at the dessert shop for Fern. They eat the ice cream together. They leave the dessert shop. They arrive at a quiet square. Frieren thinks the square is an option. He realizes that she knows Fern very well. He praises her. But she says that she knew it from Heiter. Heiter would talk about Fern’s hobbies when he was free.
Heiter was sick. He had to lie in the bed. Frieren visited her old friend. So he talked about his disciple with her. He told it all to her.

Frieren guesses Heiter wanted her to be Fern’s mother. But she doesn’t understand what Fern likes. The wind blows through her flowing hair. Stark points out that Frieren remembers Fern’s hobbies. He thinks she played a mother well. She remembers she celebrated Fern’s birthday at a similar place. She thinks Stark would talk something good sometimes. They leave the square.
In the evening, Frieren sits on her bed to read a book in the room at the hotel. Fern joins Frieren. She reports it to her that Stark asked her out. She doesn’t know who to do. She asks her about her dating experiences. Frieren admits it to Fern that she went out with a guy ever. Fern is shocked after knowing the answer. She wonder who was the lucky guy. Frieren reveals she went out with Himmel for looking for the missing cat. The magic store owner asked them a favor. Fern learns that the two did it just for a task. She wonders if it’s a date. Frieren closes the book. She smiles. She tells Fern that it’s a date if she goes out with a guy she knows. She reveals her master told it to her. She figures it out that she dated Eisen, according to the theory.
Fern is disappointed. She tries to sleep in her bed. But she cannot sleep. She walks to the window. She looks at the moon.
