In the kitchen, Chang Yu cooks in Pursuit of Jade episode 2. Ning Niang tells the kids that her sister makes delicious braised dishes again. She runs into the house. Chang Yu asks Ning Niang to tell Aunt Zhao that they don’t have to cook dinner. They’re going to cook pork intestines for them. But Ning Niang wants to taste the pork intestines first.

In the evening, Chang Yu brings the noodles to Xie Zheng. She tells him that Uncle Zhao made him a walking stick. Chang Yu, Xie Zheng and Ning Niang are going to have dinner together. Ning Niang complains it to her sister that there’s no pig tail in her bowl. Chang Yu promises Ning Niang that she will brine pig tail tomorrow. Ning Niang lets Xie Zheng eat first. Chang Yu worries that one bowl of noodles isn’t enough to Xie Zheng. She and Ning Niang share their noodles with the guy. He eats heartily. But he’s told that the meat gourd is pork intestine. Chang Yu comforts him that she has cleaned it. But Uncle Zhao liked dirty pork intestine. Uncle Zhao sneezes when he eats with his wife in another room.
Xie Zheng doesn’t eat anymore even if there’re many noodles in his bowl. He tells Chang Yu that he’s full. She moves his noodles to her side. She thinks they shouldn’t waste it. She and Ning Niang eat the noodles. Xie Zheng guesses the two girls ate the pork intestine noodles everyday. Ning Niang reveals they only ate it during the New Year. She tells the guy that they’re going to eat pig tail tomorrow. Because Chang Yu needs to kill pigs. Chang Yu covers her sister’s mouth. Xie Zheng is surprised that Chang Yu has the skill. She tells him that she won’t do that. She claims that she’s a sweet and delicate girl.
Xie Zheng lies in the bed. He remembers Chang Yu helped him hide in the pigsty. He walks out of the house. He sees Chang Yu. She’s going to kill the pig. She tells him that she will raise him. He wakes up from the nightmare. In the yard, Chang Yu washes Ning Niang’s face. Ning Niang asks Chang Yu about her silver hairpin. Chang Yu tells her sister that she pawned it. Ning Niang thinks their mother will be unhappy. Chang Yu comforts Ning Niang that she will redeem it after she earns money.
The guy visits Chang Yu. Chef Li asked him to come to take half a pig. She carries half a pig into his cart. He gives some money to her. Chang Yu asks Ning Niang not to tell others that she’s a butcher. Ning Niang figures it out that her sister pawned the hairpin for raising the good looking brother. Chang Yu worries that Xie Zheng will overhear it. She claims that she did it for saving the man. But Aunt Zhao was right that raising a men is so expensive. Chang Yu needs to work hard to earn money.
Chang Yu opens her butcher shop. She remembers she came to deliver the meal when his father worked in the shop. Her mother wiped away her sweat. She thought she’s like her father. Chang Yu gave the chopsticks to her family. Chang Yu’s father expressed that he likes the food Chang Yu cooks.
The madam visits Chang Yu’s shop. She wants to buy the offal. Chang Yu tells the madam that she will get the offal for free if she buys her meat. The madam buys five pounds of meat. Chang Yu gives the madam a discount. Uncle Guo isn’t happy with it. He thinks Chang Yu shouldn’t have given the bonus. She explains it to him that she did it for a good luck. The madam takes Chang Yu’s side. She thinks Guo Dali shouldn’t nitpick with the younger generation. But he tells her that it’s not her business. The madam shows up when she holds Ning Niang. She reports to Aunt Zhao that the little girl keeps panting. Aunt Zhao feeds Ning Niang the medicine. Chang Yu arrives. She asks Madam Zhuang and Aunt Zhao to help her take care of Ning Niang. She breaks into the house when her eldest uncle is taken down by some thugs. She asks the chief thug Jin Ye to take his men to get lost. But he says that it’s the rule of the casino. He came to look for the deed after Da Niu claimed that the house belongs to him. Da Niu is kicked to Chang Yu. He explains it to her that he did it because he had no choice. He asks her to help him. He promises her that he will treat her and Ning Niang as his real daughters if she gives him the house. But she shakes off his hands. She thinks he can use his house to settle the debt. He points out that he and her eldest aunt have no place to live if he does it. He thinks she and Ning Niang don’t need the house. Because they will get married. She laughs. She thinks he has no right to care for it. Because the house was left by her parents.
Chang Yu tells Jin Ye that the house doesn’t belong to Da Niu. Da Niu is pinned down on the table. Jin Ye takes out a knife. He threatens Chang Yu that he has to cut off one of her eldest uncle’s hands if she doesn’t give the deed to him. She throws her bone-cutting knife on the table. She asks him to use it. She tells him that her knife is better than his knife. She thinks her eldest uncle will suffer less. Da Niu mistakes that Chang Yu was kidding. She points out that he and those guys were kidding first. He’s furious to scold her. He thinks nobody wants to marry her. She takes out her knife. She threatens to kill him if he doesn’t go back. She claims that she will apologize to her parents after she takes his life.
Jin Ye tells Chang Yu that they’re very reasonable. The house belongs to Da Niu, according to the law of the nation. Because she doesn’t have a man. Da Niu is happy to get those guys to look for the deed. Chang Yu beats those guys out of her house. Jin Ye is furious to grab a bench. He tries to hit Chang Yu. Xie Zheng casts a chopstick to Jin Ye. It promotes the guy to get on his knees to Chang Yu.
Uncle Zhao shows up with the officer. He thinks those guys shouldn’t bully a poor girl. But he finds out that those guys were beaten down. The officer hands over the list to Jin Ye. He asks him to compensate Chang Yu for the items he damaged. He thinks he let his grandma down. The four guys try to leave. But Chang Yu stops them. She claims that they knocked over the memorial tablets of her parents. They need to apologize. Da Niu tells the officer that the house belongs to him. But the officer thinks Da Niu should write a paper and send it to the government office. He tells the four guys that they will be beaten once they get into the government office. Jin Ye takes his men to apologize to Chang Yu’s parents. He leaves a bag of money.
Uncle Zhao thanks the officer for his coming. He thinks the friendship of him and Chang Yu’s father is there. But the officer points out that the case of the house doesn’t end. He turns around. He finds out that Chang Yu is missing.
In the yard, Chang Yu puts her parents’ memorial tablets on the table. She reports it to her father that she showed the blade arts he taught her in front of the outsiders. She didn’t obey. She cries to ask him not to blame her. Xie Zheng tells Chang Yu that her father won’t blame her. She questions him why he came out since he’s injured. He learns that her father could use blade arts. Chang Yu reveals her father was a bodyguard before he became a butcher. Her mother Meng Lihua could blend the perfume powder.
The officer agrees with what those guys said. He believes that Chang Yu cannot keep the house if Da Niu delivers the paper. Uncle Zhao persuades the officer to help Chang Yu and her sister. The officer comes up with an idea. Chang Yu cries to tell Xie Zheng that her parents were killed by the bandits. Her mother gave the hairpin to her before she passed away. Xie Zheng hands over his gauze to Chang Yu. He tells her that the gauze is clean. He thinks her parents accompanied her to grow up at least. She has a sister and a house that she has lived for many years. But his parents passed away when he was a child. They died in the turmoil of war. She apologizes to him for making him recall the sad thing. She thinks he has known that she’s just a butcher. She asks him to mock her. But he refuses to mock her. Because she wanted to raise him. Ning Niang shows up. She informs Chang Yu that Aunt Zhao summoned her.
Chang Yu and Ning Niang visit Aunt Zhao. Uncle Zhao closes the door. Aunt Zhao whispers in Chang Yu’s ear. Chang Yu learns that the two want her to get married. Uncle Zhao reveals the idea was given by Officer Wang. He persuades Chang Yu that her father will have a heir. The house will be kept. He reminds her that she and her sister cannot live if they lose the house.
Ning Niang wants the beautiful brother. But Chang Yu goes against it. Aunt Zhao tells Chang Yu that Xie Zheng is a good man. Uncle Zhao persuades Chang Yu to listen to his wife. She knows the two do it for her. But she needs to think about it.

Chang Yu returns to her house. Aunt Zhao wants to know why the girl didn’t choose Xie Zheng. She mistakes that Xie Zheng cannot perform his duty as a man. She thinks she threatens the guy if she asks him to marry her after she saved him. She worries that Xie Zheng will be the next Song Yan. Aunt Zhao thinks Xie Zheng won’t do that because he’s not a scholar. Chang Yu tells Aunt Zhao that Xie Zheng was a top jade that she picked up from the snow. It’s very beautiful. But it doesn’t belong to her even if she engraves her name on the jade. Aunt Zhao persuades Chang Yu to use it first. But Chang Yu knows the guy will leave after he recovers. Aunt Zhao believes that the guy won’t leave after he gets the good wife like Chang Yu. But Chang Yu doesn’t want to force Xie Zheng.
Aunt Zhao intends to throw the guy out of the house if he dares to say no. She decides to go to persuade Xie Zheng. Chang Yu stops Aunt Zhao. She wants to do it on her own.
In the evening, Xie Zheng notices that Chang Yu is pacing outside his room. He asks her if she has a business. He lets her in. She tells him that she wants to wash his clothes. She grabs his clothes. She runs out of his room.
Chang Yu takes the clothes sitting in the yard. Ning Niang joins Chang Yu. She wonders why she got the clothes. Chang Yu reveals she robbed it. She goes to wash clothes. Chang Yu feeds the pig. She treats him as Xie Zheng. She asks him if he agrees to marry into her family. Xie Zheng overhears it in his room. Chang Yu brings a bowl of warm soup to Xie Zheng. He drinks the soup. She tells him that it’s pork liver soup. He says that he will drink the soup later. She realizes that he doesn’t like pork offal. He explains it to her that he’s not used to it. She asks him to treat it as a medicine. She tries to leave. He agrees to marry into her family. She smiles.
