Invincible Season 4 Episode 1 Recap: Making The World A Better Place

The monster breathes fire at the police on the street in Invincible Season 4 episode 1. Mark stuns the monster. At Pentagon, Sir leaves the planet to Donald. Donald promises Sir that he won’t let the monster bring trouble. Mark flies into his room. He takes a shower. He looks at himself in the mirror. He remembers his girlfriend was beaten, and she was in a coma in the hospital.

Invincible Season 4 Episode 1

Mark makes dinner. He walks into his friend’s room. He tells his friend that someone spotted Furnace downtown. They have to stop Furnace before the guy sets something on fire. But Oliver refuses to carry out the task. Because he just returned home. Mark points out that he just returned home as well. Oliver offers to let someone else handle it. Mary grabs the game console from Oliver. Oliver gets angry. Mark mentions Oliver begged him to deal with the guy. Oliver claims that he fought guys all day. He takes his game console back. He thinks Furnace escaped doesn’t mean they have to stop him. He says that other people can help as well. Mark reminds Oliver that a lot of heroes are gone. He asks him to get up. Oliver complains that it’s not his fault everything sucks. Mother shows up. She asks the boys if everything is all right. Oliver says that he wants to play his game and go to sleep. Mark decides to go to handle Furnace alone. He leaves. Oliver thinks it’s great when he plays his game.

Mark goes downstairs. Mother stops him. She reveals Oliver has been helping every day. She thinks the two kids did enough. She persuades Mark to take a night off. But he mentions the way people look at him. He thinks he shouldn’t get to be tired. He tells her that Oliver cannot do it as well.

At the base in snow mountain, Sir persuades the heroes to rejoin the Guardians. He tells the hero Rudy that it just makes sense. He mentions Rex. The girl hero learns that Rex left for a reason. Sir did something to Mark. Sir explains it to her that he had to take the precaution. He and Mark have worked things out since then. The male hero worries that Sir will have plans to take them down if they step out of line. Sir expresses that he needs all heroes on the team. Not just because they do more good together. But because we need to show the world that, even after everything that happened. The Guardians are still there. Fighting to keep everyone safe. The male hero tells other heroes that they can trust him if they don’t trust Cecil. They will take care of Cecil together if the guy dares to use the trick again. The heroes accept Cecil’s offer. But they want a fat salary increase. The minute something smells off, they will leave. Cecil tells the heroes that his people will help them move back in. Brit will remain as team leader. Ruby agrees that Brit’s combat experience made him an excellent field commander. But he believes a more strategic and preemptive approach to leadership is now needed. He tells Cecil that he’s the logical choice. But Cecil rejects it. He reminds Ruby that he left the Guardians. So he needs to take the consequences. Cecil thinks he and Ruby need more talks for earning his trust again.

Mark flies in the sky. He spots some firefighters who are trying to clean the debris. He joins them. He asks them if they called Invincible. The firefighters deny it. But a voice says that he did it. He mentions Mark’s war cost so many lives. He knows he thinks it’s a tragedy. But he’s wrong. Their planet is overburdened and dying. They’re choking on their own filth. Stupidly breeding like rabbits as they stumble towards extinction. But Mark gave them what no one else could. A chance at a better future. Fewer mouths to feed. Mark tells the voice to go to hell. The voice wishes Mark will stop there. But he knows he has to make up for his mistakes. Push that needle back into the black no matter what it takes. He’s going to ruin everything.

The voice strikes Mark. Mark falls on the ground. The voice tells Mark that he needs to die. He shows up. We find out that he’s a monster. He lifts a rock. He throws the rock at Mark. Mark dodges the rock. He fights the monster. The monster tells Mark that he didn’t pick the moment by accident. He bites one of his wrist guards. The wrist guard is broken. Mark is happy to take off his another wrist guard. He tells the monster that he picked wrong. He knocks him to the building. He flies to him. He tries to kill him. But the monster turns into a guy. The guy begs Mark to forgive him. Mark grabs the guy’s neck. He asks him where the dinosaur is. The guy reveals the dinosaur controlled him. The dinosaur did the terrible things after he woke up.

Mark tries to kill the guy. But Brit calls Mark. Mark releases the guy. He tells Brit that the guy turned into a dinosaur, and he killed many people when he thought he was saving the world. Brit claims that they will arrest the guy. He asks Mark if he’s fine. Mark flies away.

Outside the house, Eve talks with someone over the phone. She tells Mark that she got a new client. But he sighs. He expresses that he feels weird taking people’s money. She persuades him that they’re taking corporations’ money. They will donate it all. She kisses him. She learns that he had a weird day. She tells him that it’s about to get a lot weirder.

Inside the house, Mark has dinner with Eva’s family. He brings up Eva’s father Mr. Wilkins’s furniture business. Mr. Wilkins says that he lost his job after the head office got demolished in Chicago. He thinks Mark knows it. Because Mark was the wrecking ball that took them down. Mr. Wilkins tells Eva that they know her boyfriend’s history. She feels shame. She wants to leave with Mark. She reminds her father that he promised it. But he claims that it’s not a crime to look out for his daughter. Mark tells Mrs. Wilkins that her green beans are delicious. He wonders what she put on them.

In the kitchen, Mark wants to help Eva and her mother wash dishes. But Mr. Wilkins takes Mark out of the house. He reminds him that Eve is still his little girl. He thinks he will know his feelings when he has kids. He wonders if he can have kids. Mark believes that he can do that. Mr. Wilkins learns that the guy cares about his daughter more than anything. He expresses that he hates Eve is one of the heroes. But he has to admit that she’s made of steel. Been in a ton of scraps and always comes out on top. He guesses she gets it from him. He believes that Mark saw Eve in the hospital. Broken legs, broken face. In a coma. All thanks to one of Mark’s friends. Mark claims that those guys weren’t his friends. Mr. Wilkins brings up that Eve wasn’t even better before she had to go back out there to save Mark. She got torn in half by that maniac. Mark thinks it wasn’t his fault. Mr. Wilkins reminds Mark that the only two times Eve’s almost died has been because of him. He thinks he should think about that if he cares for her.

In the kitchen, Eve and her mother are washing dishing. Mrs. Wilkins tells Eve that Mark likes her very much. Eve hopes so. Otherwise she’s making a big mistake. Mrs. Wilkins asks Eve not to say so. She expresses that she’s happy for her. Not everyone is lucky enough to find somebody so special. Eve stops her mother. She wonders who they’re talking about. Mrs. Wilkins says that Eve’s father is a good provider and a good husband. But she rolls with the punches. Eve tells her mother that she knows how to roll with punches. She asks her what she meant. Mrs. Wilkins tells Eve that she will know how it goes with Mark when she’s older.

Mr. Wilkins informs his wife Betsy that their show is on. She leaves with him. Mark shows up. Eve thinks she and Mark shouldn’t have come to the place. She gives him a hug. She comforts him that they will leave. She wonders if her father was bad. He denies it. He reveals the talking dinosaur attacked him. The dinosaur mentioned the cause he caused. But he turned into a normal guy. He didn’t know what happened.

Mark thought they should do something so that the dinosaur won’t come back. But the Guardians took the dinosaur away. Eve learns that Mark intended to kill the dinosaur. He’s not sure. But he thinks her father was right that he shouldn’t let people be hurt because of him. She tells him that her father was never right. He offers to talk about it later. Because he’s tired. She makes a cup of coffee. She hands over the coffee to him. But the coffee is terrible.

Two workers search the sewer. But one of the workers Burke is attacked by the rat. Another worker finds out that he’s surrounded by the zombies. He’s scared. Burke takes his colleague into the water. They turn into zombies as well. The mastermind watches the zombie army. He thinks it’s time.

A Thunder Mage shows up on the street. She absorbs the electric power around her. The wand shows her the source of the power. She flies away.

The next day, Oliver is making coffee in the house. Mark expresses that he needs breakfast first. He apologizes to Oliver for the night. He knows he does a lot and he knows they cannot be out there all the time. Oliver tells Mark that it’s fine. He knows he and mother cannot protect him from everything. Mark wonders where Mother is. Oliver guesses Mark hasn’t been home a lot.

In the bedroom, Mother lies in the bed. She tries to keep the guy. But he doesn’t want to let the boys see him leaving. She laughs. She tells the guy Paul that the boys know what they did. She believes that Mark should be a lot happier. Because he’s with Eve. Mother tempts Paul that he will make pancakes. He gives her a kiss. He leaves her room.

Paul goes downstairs. Oliver invites the guy to eat cereal with him. Paul rejects it. He claims that he needs to leave. Oliver wonders why Paul is being so weird. Mark tells Paul that they don’t mind he’s there. Oliver brings up that Paul made noise when he was with Mother. He didn’t say anything.

Eve walks into the house. Oliver tells the girl that they were talking about her. She receives a message from the company that someone is attacking a power station upstate. Mark decides to leave with Eve. Oliver wants to join his brother. But Mother reminds Oliver that they had plans. She learns that Paul changed mind about the pancakes.

On the street, the monsters climb out of the sewer. It starts the people. At the power station, Thunder Mage asks the worker to raise the machine’s output to its maximum capacity. He refuses to do so. Because he has told her that it doesn’t work like that. She orders him to make it work like that. She mentions they have so much power. She could sense his world light-years away. He explains it to her that the plant powers half the coast. She decides to do it herself. He absorbs the power.

In the studio, Art gives the clothes to Oliver. Oliver thanks Art. He runs away. Art tells Mother that the kid is growing like a weed. He hears Oliver is doing well after that happened. Mother reveals the kid spent a week in the hospital. Oliver shows Mother the uniform he’s wearing. Art tells the madam that he planned to design a new symbol for Oliver. But Oliver wanted to keep the old one. Oliver knows it started out as father’s thing. But he fought all the Invincibles wearing it. He fought Conquest. He almost died. The suit belongs to him now. Art worries that the madam minds it. She remembers Omni-Man didn’t like the suit. He thought the Immortal was a fool to suggest the craftsman. She persuaded him that the Immortal sent him there because he’s his friend. He dresses like other heroes will help people trust him. It looks good. He looked at himself in the mirror. He thought it does make his strength and power clear. He kissed her.

Debbie Grayson allows Oliver to wear the suit. He’s very happy. Mark and Eve fly to the power station. In Pentagon, Donald reports it to Cecil that they will have a meltdown on their hands if the cooling system doesn’t get power back soon. Cecil wonders what they have in the area. Donald reveals Eve and Mark are on the way to the power station. The plant signed up for their business. Cecil asks Donald to give the two some troopers for backup. But the girl reports to Cecil that they have a priority situation. He sees the monsters on the screen. He decides to ignore the plant.

At the power station, Mark punches Thunder Mage before she ruins the plant. She falls on the floor. She picks up her wand. She’s furious to blame him. He tells her that it’s over even if he doesn’t know who she is. She says that her people are dying without the energy. But she’s killing these people to get it. He thinks it doesn’t make sense. She casts the lightning ball to him. He’s hurt. Eve grabs her sickle. She fights Thunder Mage. But her weapon disappears.

On the street, the people are turned into zombies by sequids. On the plane, the captain tells the Guardians that they have a perfect plan. But they need to make sure that there’s no any sequids leaving the barrier. At the power station, Mark and Eve team up to defeat Thunder Mage. The Guardians fight sequids in the barrier. But they need help.

Cecil shows up at the power station. He tells Mark and Eve that they need their help. But Eve’s powers don’t work. Cecil promises Mark that he won’t play tricks. Paul visits Debbie. He offers to live together. She agrees. She sees the news that the aliens invade Earth. The Guardians are fight the aliens. She doesn’t know if her kids are there.

Ruby gets into the sewer. He saves some people who are controlled by the sequids. He returns to the safe place. Eve returns home. Her father opens the door. He asks her what happened. On the street, Mark kills the chief of the sequids.
