The man is Omni-Man Nolan Grayson. Nolan mentions they carve no statues of other Viltrumites. He asks the kids why the guy deserves the honor. They say that Emperor Argall made them one. He showed them their power. He gave them the stars. He was killed by the betrayer. Emperor Argall’s heirs were lost, and millions of them died in the great purge that followed.
Nolan asks the kid why the purge was a blessing. He asks her to think well before she answers. Because she has seen what failure brings. She says that the purge made them stronger. He thinks she was right. He reveals Argall showed them the wall, even in death. They cut the weak from their ranks. Carved away their cancer so the strong could stand free.
This is why the universe is their right and destiny. If they didn’t deserve it, they couldn’t take it. All is ours. Nolan announces that the education is over. He asks the kids to go find food and shelter. They need to come there tomorrow at sunrise prepared for combat. He tells them that two of them will die. So they should bring a weapon if they’re smart. The kids run away.

In the palace, Minister reports to Grand Regent that ten of the devices were discovered planetwide. The evaded their defense network disguised as an asteroid. They contained a biological weapon specifically engineered to attack Viltrumite DNA. It’s exceptionally contagious and extremely virulent. Their scientists are calling it the Scourge virus. So far, they have found no suitable treatment for exposure other than containment, which is proving difficult. They’re searching for who did it. They will make them regret their actions.
Grand Regent orders to quarantine the sick. Then blockade the planet and exterminate all non-Viltrumites with knowledge of the virus. He thinks they shouldn’t let their enemies know their weakness.
The general and the dead Viltrumites are carried away by some ships. They’re dumped into the square. Nolan is taken into the hospital. He coughs when he lies in the bed with other Viltrumites. He recovers. He walks out of the hospital. He looks at the sky.
In the time since the virus first struck, they still have no treatment or cure and no knowledge of who created it. It has finally slowed but only because of all remaining Viltrumites have been infected. Their remaining population are the few who have recovered. But even the survivors suffer a dangerous period of reduced strength, resilience and regeneration. Grand Regent wants to know how many people are dead. Nolan’s father is dead. He’s thrown into space. Minister says that billions upon billions. But it’s worse than that. With so few of them remaining, any offspring will be inbred and deficient. It’s the end of their race. But Grand Regent tells Minister that he’s wrong. They will honor their fallen, rebuild themselves at any cost and destroy those who thought they could extinguish them. They’re Viltrumites. They’re without end.
On the ship, Allen asks Nolan if he made him feel bad about his planet of genocidal maniacs almost getting wiped out. He thinks it’s a good thing he doesn’t have parents. He asks him a question. If they were all spread so thin, barely holding their empire together. Why continue with the whole conquering new planets thing. Nolan tells Allen that he wasn’t sent to Earth just to conquer it. Earth was just one of many planets they visited to determine if there were alien species genetically compatible with their own and if they could use them to save their race. Allen points out that Nolan’s real mission was to bang his way across the galaxy, looking for someone his people could make babies with. Nolan admits that it was his mission. He succeeded. Mark is almost as strong as him. It proves that the human race is suitable for Viltrumite interbreeding. That is why he tried to take control of Earth after he saw Mark had inherited his powers.
Allen expresses that he prefers Nolan’s style that he was trying to murder everyone. He wonders what Nolan would have done if Mark didn’t get powers. He asks his friend if he would move on to the next planet. Nolan doesn’t know.
Allen and Nolan arrive at Talescria. Allen decides to park the ship outside. He and Nolan will sneak in. The people don’t like mustaches like Nolan. He wonders if Nolan can shave it.
Allen and Nolan get into the house. Allen asks Nolan to wait him there. Nolan asks Allen why he wants him to do that. Allen’s foot is hit by the table. It hurts. He wonders who moved it. He turns on the light. He calls his wife Telia. He walks into the room. She gives him a kiss. She pushes him on the bed. She holds his face. She gives him another kiss. He expresses that he missed her. She mentions he was just supposed to go to Earth and back. She wonders what happened. He reveals he was caught and thrown into a Viltrumite prison. They escaped and came back.
Telia turns around. She sees Nolan. He greets her. But she shoots him. Because she hates Viltrumite. Allen stops his wife. He tells her that the man is on their side. She gets angry. She wonders how he knows it. He reminds her that they’re not dead. He apologizes to his friend. But Nolan is used to it. Allen is surprised that his wife keeps the gun under the bed. She reminds him that they still have a mole. Nolan asks the two to lend some clothes to him.
Allen, Telia and Nolan go to the building. The guards are happy after they knew Allen is alive. But Allen doesn’t want to talk about it. Because they need to see Thaedus immediately. The guard notices Allen’s new friend. Allen tells the guard that his new friend can help them win. But the guard remembers the guy has a mustache.
Allen, Telia and Nolan meet Thaedus in the office. Nolan tells Thaedus that there’re only fifty Viltrumites. Allen knows those guys are still strong. But he thinks they can make it. But Thaedus isn’t happy after he heard the good news. Telia points out that Viltrumites are Thaedus’s people. He says that those guys aren’t his people anymore. Nolan admits it to Thaedus that he thought he’s not a Viltrumite. Thaedus knows Nolan wants him to perform the Toolock pull. He reminds him that he did it for Allen. He doesn’t want to do it again.
Allen tells Nolan that Thaedus ripped off his beard. He thinks it was crazy. Nolan asks Thaedus why he has never heard of him. Thaedus tells Nolan that he has a different name on the planet. Nolan realizes that the guy is the Betrayer. Thaedus admits it to Nolan that he was the first to turn his back on their people’s cruelty. The first to reject Argall and his rule of strength. And the first to risk everything for his beliefs. Now they’re two. Nolan denies it. He thinks Thaedus is still alone.
Allen is shocked. He mentions Nolan promised him that he would help him gather all the weapons and stuff from his books. Nolan says that he will help arm Allen because of their friendship. But he won’t join Allen. He won’t let him drag his sons into it. Allen reminds Nolan that he’s fighting the Viltrumites. They will kill him. Nolan points out that his fight with his people is personal. Allen’s war is his own. Allen isn’t happy with it after he heard Nolan’s words. Thaedus is interested in the weapons Allen and Nolan talk about.
Allen reveals Nolan made them a list of all the Viltrumite weaknesses and weapons. Nolan tells Thaedus that he was sent to Earth, it was his mission to ensure the threats could never be used against them. But some are still out there. Telia thinks they need to go get them. Thaedus agrees with what she said. He thinks it could be a great help to their effort. Even if they’re the limit of Nolan’s aid for now. But it must all remain secret. Because they still have a spy among them. Telia knows a ship they can take that won’t raise any suspicions. Because they’d never take it.
Allen, Telia and Nolan aboard the ship the Venture. Captain welcomes them. He introduces Worg and Tuva to them. He claims that they’re the finest ship in the Coalition’s navy. Allen thinks the ship is perfect. No one will suspect a thing.
The ship takes off. Captain tells the three that it will take some time to reach their destination. He believes that they want to rest. He brags that their guest accommodations are second to none. The three get into the guest accommodation. Nolan volunteers to take a couch. He thinks it will be fine. Because he has slept in far worse places than the couch. But he cannot sleep when Allen and Telia are working out in the room.
The three run out of the guest accommodation. Captain tells them that the ship is hit by some friendly space rocks. Allen wonders why Captain didn’t stop before the giant asteroid field. Captain comforts Allen that the Venture is a tough old lady. But a big rock hits the ship in front of him. The ship catches fire. Worg puts out the fire. Nolan cannot stand it. He suggests that Captain should pull back to a safe distance. He and Allen will go in alone.
Nolan and Allen fly out of the ship. Nolan tells Allen that he hid the coordinates of the Infinity Ray in his novel. He mentions it’s a weapon of impossible power. He couldn’t any chances an enemy of his people could find it. Allen points out that Nolan is helping his enemy do that. Nolan finds the coordinate.
Nolan and Allen fly to the asteroid. They get into a cave. Allen guesses Nolan killed the Space Racer since he took his gun. Nolan denies it. He reveals he didn’t take the guy’s life because he worried that his weapon would self-destruct. He buried him alive under a thousand tons of rock. Allen thinks what Nolan did is terrible. He read his novel. But he doesn’t like sci-fi.
Nolan tells Allen that Space Racer needed to die naturally. So his link to the Infinity Ray would be broken. It’s been about a hundred years. Allen sees the gun. He steps back. Because he knows it will explode. Nolan tries to take the gun. But the gun flies away. He guesses the gun is still linked to Space Racer’s body.
Nolan and Allen dig the grave of Space Racer. They guess the guy is dead. But Space Racer shoots Nolan. Allen pushes Nolan aside. He saves him. He’s furious to bring up what he said that Space Racer is dead. Space Racer tells Nolan that he was wrong. Nolan suggests that Allen shouldn’t let the guy fire again. Space Racer points his gun at the two. Allen confesses it to Space Racer that they came for his weapon. He asks him to help them since he’s alive. But Space Racer refuses to help a person like Nolan. Allen explains it to Space Racer that it was a misunderstanding. He guards Nolan so that Space Racer cannot shoot his friend. He reveals the Coalition of Planets is fighting back against the Viltrumite Empire. Nolan is on their side. He’s still a little mushy on some of these details. But he saved Allen’s life and is doing his best to help them. Even if that means betraying his entire race and all his history and heritage and all that. They came there because they’re gathering weapons to help the fight. Space Racer could be that weapon. With his amazing gun. He and the gun both weapons, together.
Allen tells Space Racer that they have got a ship out there. They can explain everything on the ship. Space Racer mentions Nolan left him to die there. Nolan points out that Space Racer is fine. Space Racer says that he was hundred years alone in darkness. Nolan feels sorry. He explains that he was a different person. Allen persuades Space Racer that they want to make sure what happened to him never happens again to anyone. Space Racer drops his gun. He asks Allen and Nolan if they have food on the ship. Allen is excited to tell the hungry man that they have the machine. It makes noodles. He takes out some kanzlok. But Space Racer doesn’t like the food.
Space Racer leaves the ship. He goes to Talescria. Nolan believes that the guy will join them. Because Space Racer hates his people because of him. He reveals their next target is a small planet. Allen and Nolan arrive at the small planet. Allen catches the Sinlak beetle. Nolan reveals the compound in Sinlak beetle’s shells makes them weak to physical injury. His orders were to wipe them out. He guesses he missed a few. They will let Coalition scientists extract the compound, refine it and put it in darts.
On the ship, Nolan decides to go to look for ragnars. Because Viltrumites are scared of those guys. He was the only survivor of the first research team that came to the planet. Ragnars are cold-blooded. So he had their scientists put that solar disc in place to freeze their planet solid. They didn’t care about the other two planets in the system or their small but growing civilizations.
Nolan and Allen land on the planet. Allen notices that it’s a lot of gravity. Nolan reveals the ragnars got strong because of the reason. He orders Telia to move the disc and let the planet warm up. They will catch some ragnars into the cargo hold and keep them frozen until they get back to Talescria. But Captain asks Worg to target the solar disc and fire proton missiles. The solar disc is destroyed after it was hit by proton missiles.
Allen finds the beasts who can devour Viltrumite. Nolan orders Allen to get those guys to the ship before they thaw. Nolan grabs a ragnar. He asks Allen to get another one. But the ragnar thaws when Allen is on the way to take him to the ship. All the ragnars thaw. Allen tries to flee. But he comes back to save Nolan. Nolan and Allen mistake that they will die on the planet. But Telia controls the ship. She gets the ship to block the sunshine. The ragnars are frozen again.
