Duan Fei paints Daffodil in Love Never Fails Chinese Drama Episode 9. She persuades him to go to paint peach trees. He wonders if she cannot stand. He completes his painting. She takes a look at the painting. It’s ugly. He reveals his mother was shocked after she saw his painting.
Daffodil guesses Duan Fei’s mother didn’t wish Duan Fei to show the painting to others. She knows the madam concealed it. She smiles. He touches her hair. Lu Yao asks Kun Lun to paint her. He looks reluctantly. She asks him if he feels wronged. He explains it to her that he wants to know if they need to experience it. He offers to burn it. But she thinks it’s not a good idea.
Duan Fei takes Daffodil to the bridge. He reveals Chu family persuaded him to marry Lady Chu. She tells him to marry Lady Chu because the lady is pretty. He reminds her that she cannot live in his house if he marries Lady Chu. He asks her to marry him. But she claims that she’s a fairy.
He approaches her and he asks her if she has feelings for him. She’s nervous to tell him not to be close to her. Because he’s going to kiss her. He thinks it’s fine to kiss her because they love each other. But she mentions the fairies only kiss after they get married. He promises to marry her. He kisses her.
Lu Yao walks Kun Lun on the street. She complains it to him that they got involved for saving Jin Xiu. She wonders if they will be trapped in the illusion forever. He thinks the method walking out of the illusion is hidden in the story.
Lu Yao doesn’t understand why Jin Xiu has to save Hong Ning. She’s angry to eat the cookie. She asks Kun Lun about Daffodil’s history. He reveals Daffodil was a fairy. He tells Lu Yao that Daffodil gave up her fairy identity. He adds that Daffodil and Duan Fei got married. They promised not to betray each other. But they didn’t know there was a bad ending waiting for them.
Daffodil and Duan Fei are in the wedding room. They wear wedding clothes. Duan Fei tries to lift Daffodil’s wedding veil with his fan. He asks her if she’s in a hurry. She denies it. He reminds her that she’s going to sleep with him. He lifts her veil.
She reveals she worries that everything is a dream because it’s so unreal. She asks him if he likes her. He admits it when he grabs her hand. He reveals he recognized her when he saw her the first time. She asks him not to forget her. He comforts her that it’s not a problem as long as they love each other.
Lu Yao and Kun Lun wear the wedding clothes. Kun Lun thinks Jin Xiu and Hong Ning got married. Lu Yao doesn’t believe it when she’s angry. She refuses to sleep with Kun Lun when he offers the idea. Tai Yi arrests Daffodil and Duan Fei. He takes the two to the thunderbolt stage.
He asks Daffodil if she knows her sins. She agrees to take the duty and she asks him to forgive Duan Fei. He blames her for humiliating them because she married a mortal. She claims that the case isn’t related to Duan Fei. But he thinks the guy bewitched her. He uses the thunderbolts to hit Duan Fei. Daffodil protects her lover. Tai Yi gets angry because Daffodil stopped the divinity punishment. She promises to be monster all her life. She doesn’t see Duan Fei again.
Kun Lun realizes why there’s a heavy resentment in the illusion. He thinks Daffodil needs to jump into the immortal pool according to the plot. Lu Yao wonders why Daffodil has the resentment since Heavenly Emperor wouldn’t care for it. Kun Lun thinks the case isn’t simple. He mentions Daffodil needed to spend centuries for becoming a mortal. He thinks Duan Fei wouldn’t wait for her.
Daffodil goes to Hellfire Bridge. Grandma Meng scolds her. Daffodil reveals her lover is going to die. She worries that Duan Fei will forget her if he drinks Grandma Meng’s soup. She asks Grandma Meng to stop Duan Fei. Jin Xiu shows up. He rejects it when Grandma Meng persuades him not to drink the soup. Because he wants to remember his lover forever. Hong Ning stops him. She tells him that she wishes him to have a happy life.
Daffodil appears. She’s surprised that Jin Xiu and Hong Ning broke through her illusion. Jin Xiu leaves the illusion. He mentions Daffodil’s sins. She thinks she did nothing wrong. She just regrets for falling for Duan Fei. She complains it to Jin Xiu that she became a monster for Duan Fei. She blames Duan Fei for forgetting her.
Jin Xiu mentions Daffodil only remembers what she did for Duan Fei. He thinks she doesn’t know what Duan Fei did for her. He reveals Duan Fei returned to mortal world but Daffodil turned into a daffodil who didn’t have any sense.
Duan Fei took Daffodil outside. He cried when he mentioned what Daffodil said that fairies like sunshine. He told her that he’s satisfied her. Jin Xiu tells Daffodil that Duan Fei didn’t know what to do. He had to wait for an unknown date. He thinks she only knows that the guy forgot her for getting rid of the pain.
He asks her if she knows the despair that remembering the love he lost would make him die to a mortal. Duan Fei cried. He asked Daffodil to come back. He sat in the yard and he drank. Jin Xiu tells Daffodil that Duan Fei didn’t take off his wedding clothes since then. He watched their memories and he spent the rest of his miserable life.
Jin Xiu thinks Daffodil should know the reason as a fairy. She cries to ask him if he loved someone. He persuades her to forgive herself. He thinks Duan Fei must wish her to live at ease. She’s surprised that he said such words since he’s been heartless. He sighs and he asks her to make a choice. He leaves. She disappears.
Jin Xiu joins Kun Lun and Lu Yao. Kun Lun thinks Daffodil has a strong character. He knows she cannot become a human because she melted her core. Jin Xiu is surprised that Kun Lun and Lu Yao came. He tells Kun Lun to protect Lu Yao. Lu Yao and Kun Lun leave.
Jin Xiu walks to Hong Ning. She wakes up. They take a walk. She asks him if he remembers the words he said in the illusion. He thinks it’s just an illusion. He mentions Daffodil and Duan Fei’s love was short even if they loved each other. He thinks everything is gone except immortal rule.
But she points out that they remember the two’s love. She thinks it’s eternal as long as their love is remembered. He questions her if she understood something after she experienced it. She smiles to tell him that she knows she loves him.
He asks her if she understands some heaven rules. She denies it and she reveals she only knows what’s love. She mentions Daffodil’s heart pounded because of Duan Fei approached her. Daffodil wasn’t well because she couldn’t see Duan Fei.
Hong Ning thinks the feelings are the same. She reveals she has the feelings when she stays with Jin Xiu. She understands the feelings are love. She asks him about his feelings. She wonders if he became the mortal after he got into the illusion. She thinks he has feelings to her as well. He tells her not to think about the nonsense.
White Camellia Elder takes the white camellias to greet Jin Xiu. He thanks him for resolving the case. He thinks he returned the innocence to them. Jin Xiu reveals he came because White Camellia Clan wasn’t happy with the divinity punishment to White Camellia.
He promises to explain it to Heavenly Emperor after he returns to Heavenly Realm. White Camellia tells Jin Xiu that others are innocent. He asks him to forgive his clansmen. Jin Xiu has known the truth. He thinks he has a responsibility. But he reminds White Camellia that he made the mistake first. So he refuses to take back the punishment. He wishes them to continue to follow the heaven rules.
The white camellias thank Jin Xiu. But he tells them to thank Hong Ning instead. Because the girl took the credit. Hong Ning takes Jin Xiu to the Lantern Festival. But he disappears when she buys the mask. He shows up after he wore a mask. He takes out the invitation. She’s very happy because he received her invitation. She asks him for a prize.
She wishes him to accompany her to release the lantern with her. She asks him to write down his wish on the paper. She wonders if he has other ideas when he sees the fireworks. He reveals Kun Lun set off some fireworks in front of him. He told him to taste the fireworks of mortal world.

Jin Xiu returns to Baizhou Mountain. He sees Hong Ning and her friends. Her friends leave because they want to let the two stay alone.
Hong Ning and Jin Xiu take off their masks. He reveals Lantern Immortal promised to grant her wish. She’s excited when she thinks she can marry him. She prays to the immortals. Jin Xiu kisses Hong Ning. He promises to marry her after she becomes a fairy.
She learns that he’s going to go to attend Yanchi banquet. She asks him to take her to the banquet. He takes her to the heaven. He asks her to wait for him. He disappears. Lu Yao finds Kun Lun at the banquet. She asks him not to bring trouble. Because she wants to be Jin Xiu’s wife. But he uses the spell. It’s pouring.
