In D3, Ayanokouji asks Nanase if Tsukishiro blustered that he sent a White Room student to be an assassin in Classroom of The Elite Season 4 episode 13. She’s confused. She doesn’t know what is White Room. He thinks she isn’t lying. She isn’t skilled enough to be an assassin. Amasawa shows up with a wooden stick.
Obscured By The Rain

Nanase guards Ayanokouji. She asks him to step back. Amasawa is surprised that Nanase doesn’t welcome her. They’re teammates. Nanase is too cold. Amasawa realizes that Nanase does it because the stuff that she’s holding. Does it look a little scary? Nanase tells Amasawa that she cannot trust her. Amasawa throws away the stick. She asks Nanase why she said something like that. She claims that she’s so cute. She’s not a bad person. She wants to have a talk with Ayanokouji.
Nanase confesses it to Ayanokouji that she has been keeping one thing from him. After he went to look for Shinohara, she sensed that someone was watching them from nearby. So she ran after the person. Although she couldn’t catch up to the person, she saw a very distinctive hairstyle. She asks Amasawa if she hurt Shinohara. But Amasawa asks Nanase what she will do if she did it.
Nanase asks Amasawa why her name doesn’t appear in the school’s positioning system. Ayanokouji tells Nanase if it’s not hard to leave no trace. She just needs to break the watch. He asks Amasawa why she came to the place. How did she find them? She tells him that he shouldn’t be so impatient. He should be happy that they meet like that. He mentions it’s raining so hard. He asks her to make a long story short. She offers to spend the night together in the tent.
Amasawa tries to walk to Ayanokouji. But Nanase blocks Amasawa’s way. Amasawa tells Nanase that she wants to talk to Ayanokouji. She asks her to move aside. Nanase points out that Amasawa can say it right there. Amasawa rejects it. Because it’s the topic that is related to White Room. She thinks Nanase is an outsider.
Ayanokouji asks Amasawa why she identified herself. She explains it to him that she wants to tell him that she’s not his enemy. He thinks she contradicts herself. He mentions White Room students were sent to the school to force him to drop out. She said that she wasn’t his enemy. It doesn’t make sense at all.
She tells him that the higher-ups thought she would be jealous of him as long as they sent her. But they didn’t notice that she was the girl who worshiped him. He points out that she could tell it to him when she entered the school. She explains it to him that it’s just her imagination no matter how much she admires him. Until she saw him, she thought it was so wonderful to admire the person. She needed to take some time to think so.
He guesses she noticed the interesting part of the school if she’s just as emotional as he is. She wishes she will enjoy it until she graduates. But because she’s not good at making friends. She didn’t talk to a lot of people. But she’s not like him who lacks communication skills. Some courses could only be learned by the students who were a year younger than him. It was engaging in basic communication. She heard that a lot of kids like him broke down.
He believes her story. But he cannot accept the reason that she identified herself. She asks him if he thinks she doesn’t pose a threat. She asks him not to be defeated without her permission. She strokes his face. She leaves.
Nanase comes back. She asks Ayanokouji if he’s fine. He checks the footprints on the ground. She wonders if the footprints belong to Amasawa. He says yes. He reveals there were footprints nearby when Komiya and the people were hurt. The size matches Amasawa’s footprint. It seems that she approached them from behind. But the footprints get messy there. He doesn’t understand why the mysterious footprints returned.
Nanase realizes that there was another person there when Amasawa talked to them. The stick was trimmed to remove excess parts. So it can be used as a murder weapon. If Amasawa wanted to attack Ayanokouji, she should have taken him by surprise. But she didn’t let them see any attack move. It means that the person who carried the stick wasn’t Amasawa. It’s the owner of the footprints.
According to what Amasawa says that Ayanokouji is her hero. He guesses she might have protected him when the enemy attacked him. But Nanase still thinks the girl isn’t their ally. Ayanokouji offers to set up camp quickly.
Ayanokouji sleeps in the tent. He reads the message that was sent by the school. He learns that the pay for the last day doubled. He believes that it’s a key factor for a comeback. In that case, he will have time to plan the next steps.
Nanase visits him. She says that she concludes that Amasawa was the person who pushed Komiya off. But he thinks that may not be the case. He points out that they have no way of knowing what Amasawa did to Komiya. But he knows the itinerary of anyone. He searched it ten times after the location information was available. It’s a handy tool that can know all the students’ locations. She asks him if the information has the value to pay ten points. He admits it to her that he lost one point after he searched the location information. But it’s not effective use if he only does it one time. But after he keeps doing so, points will eventually connect to form a line. He will see the stuff that he couldn’t see.
For example, some teams of the third-year have close ties with Nagumo and Kiriyama. Ayanokouji guesses Nagumo can get the first place easily using the method no matter what happens. Nagumo should have prepared the remedial measures that help him not drop out.
Nanase thinks the Student Council President is currently leading the exam. Ayanokouji tells her that the guy is the person who establishes rules and controls others. They’re just like Nagumo. Some strategies of the second-year are working together closely. It’s just that they’re different from Nagumo. They engage in negotiations on an equal footing. Even if they’re enemies, as long as their interests align, they can join forces. It’s the outstanding part of the leaders of the second-year.
Nanase understands why Ayanokouji paid ten points to get the information. She returns the tablet to him. She wants to go to chase Amasawa after the rain stops. She has known the girl is a student of White Room. She wants to know what she will do in the future. He persuades her not to do so. He reminds her that she should protect herself. She says that she’s not afraid of dropping out. She can do anything as long as she can protect him.
He changes a way of speaking. He tells her that anything she does will cause unintended drawbacks. He wants to avoid any risky move. She realizes what she does isn’t right. She shouldn’t continue to bring trouble to him. He mentions Hosen is in her team. He asks her to be cautious when she takes action. She gets his point. She promises him. They will go their separate ways.
The next day in F7, Ayanokouji runs into Horikita. She mentions they haven’t seen each other after the first day. He thinks she’s more energetic than him when she’s drinking water. He asks her if she’s still alone. Although there were many challenges, she was easy when she was alone. She heard it from Sakayanagi that something happened to Shinohara. She didn’t reject Sakayanagi’s proposal. Because she had no reason to reject it. The ranking of Shinohara’s team is seventh from the bottom. Worst-case scenario, if Shinohara cannot find a team to merge, Horikita will take action.
Horikita will be lucky to complete the project. She gets the spots of three teammates. But in that case, she and Shinohara need to collect points on their own. Ayanokouji wishes the group with the most points will absorb Shinohara.
Horikita is surprised that there’re many teams having radios. If they trusted each other more, they would do that. Ayanokouji points out that not everything moves in the right direction.
The next day, Ayanokouji walks in the woods alone. He knows his total score is just a little lower than the tenth place’s score. It’s important to stay outside the top ten. Once he makes it into the top ten, attracting someone’s attention. He will have a high risk to be hindered by the enemy. He wants to maintain an ideal ranking and have a talk with Sakayanagi.
In D5, Ayanokouji sees a tent. He tells the person in the tent that he’s going to camp nearby. He asks her to let him know if she feels it’s inconvenient. He sets up the tent. He’s hanging out the laundry. Ibuki shows up. She’s surprised that the weirdo is Ayanokouji. He didn’t disturb her. She returns to her tent.
He visits her. He opens the tent. He discovers that she’s eating jerky. He remembers the stuff isn’t in the manual that the school provided. She talks back that it’s not important how she got it. It’s not his business. He breaks into the tent and grabs her arm. She’s furious to ask him what he’s doing. He notices that her pulse is racing, and her lips are severely chapped. It’s obvious that she’s dehydrated.
She claims that she’s not thirsty anymore. It means that she was thirsty. She shakes off his hand. She tells him that she doesn’t think it’s a problem. He takes her two empty water bottles. He asks her when she began to lack water. She confesses it to him it has been one day. He asks her if she walked around with the condition. She tells him that she will go to the starting point if she cannot hang in there. She asks him not to care for her. He reminds her that she will pass out while she moves. She will abstain. She thinks she just needs to complete the project. He tells her that she works so hard because she cannot do it.
He gives two bottles of water to her. He wants to make a deal with her. He’s suffering from a lack of food. On the contrary, he has a little more water. He thinks he can make a fair deal with her. So he raises the issue. He asks her to give him his share of the food. She can reject it. But he won’t negotiate with her the second time. If she abstains due to dehydration, she will lose to Horikita.
She agrees to the deal. But she wants to know how much she should give him. He asks for half of the leftover food. She drinks up the water. She checks his bag. He discovers that he only has one bottle of water left. She realizes that he doesn’t have any extra water. She asks him if he wants to help her and sell her a favor. He points out that he doesn’t sell her a favor if she didn’t check his bag. He asks her if she will repay a favor if he sells her a favor. She says that she won’t do that.
The next day, Ayanokouji arrives in E4. Kiryuuin tells him that he’s late when he’s checking his watch. He looks up. He sees her standing on the cliff. He doesn’t deny that he’s late. She knew there was a powerful competitor. She asks him if the competitor is him. He thinks it’s hard to say. Because they might arrive in the same zone even if their itineraries are different. He thought she wasn’t interested in the top ten. But she made it into the 9th place.
She laughs. She jumps off the cliff. She explains it to him that she did it because the exam was funny. She cannot contain her excitement even if she’s not young anymore. She plans to keep up the pace in a short period of time. He realizes that she’s not interested in the first place. Everyone fights tooth and nail to make it onto the podium. But if Nagumo or Kouenji falls from power, it might be a different story.
Ayanokouji cannot see the sign that one of the two will fall from power. Kiryuuin reminds him that Nagumo won’t do nothing to Kouenji. Depending on how the situation develops, both of them cannot get points. After all, kicking off the rival is a crucial battle. She asks him if he doesn’t snag one of the top spots. He says that he cannot imagine the scene that he makes into top ten. She mistook that he got a score similar to hers. She mentions many teams’ efficiency is dropping. She asks him not to give up.
He guesses the bottom ten are praying. He wishes they will abstain. But she knows those guys will stop at nothing. She asks him to be careful. He points out that she should worry about it as a girl. She admits that a pitiful young girl should have a sense of urgency. He was just kidding. But she gives it some serious thought. She throws a punch. She says that she will overcome it by brute force. He can tell that she’s not a young girl after she showed her power. She apologizes to him for wasting his time. She asks him if he doesn’t go to complete the project. She thinks he still has the right to challenge. He rejects it. He knows he cannot beat her. She’s happy to walk away after she got the answer she wanted.
In the evening, the girl Shiranami is looking for her teammates in the woods with a flashlight. She looks scared. She mistakes Ayanokouji for her teammate Yume when the flashlight shines on him. He asks her about Yume and Takemoto. She explains it to him that she couldn’t tell which way to go because she moved too fast. He tells her that she will die if she wanders aimlessly. He asks her if she still has energy. She needs to move so that she will find her teammates. She says that she can move. But she doesn’t know what to do. He teaches her to search the location information. She will know the general direction and distance.
