In the evening, Eun-Tae works in the office alone in The Ordinary Jackpot episode 4. He says sometimes he would bury himself in his work. He stays in the office alone in the end. Whenever that happens, a part of him wants to leave as soon as possible. Another part of him would feel proud of his efforts. Using the idea that he’s the most important person at the company to trick himself. Although he has 1.3 billion won, that’s not enough to drive him to resign or change his life. He cannot decide how to spend the money. So he continues to work.

When Eun-Tae hesitates, Seon-Hyuk is taking the biggest step of his life. Eun-Tae returns to the office. Seon-Hyuk is packing his stuff. In Hyun-Sook’s office, Seon-Hyuk gives the Letter of Resignation to Hyun-Sook. She tells him that he should say it straight out if he wants a raise. Don’t pull that kind of stunt. He denies it. He really intends to leave. She mentions his child is about to start school. Can he resign? He says he can still hold on.
She asks him why he suddenly offers to resign. He says if he wants to make a difference, he will block others’ path to promotion. But if he does nothing, he will hold back young, new employees. He knows he’s a real wimp. But once he takes a passive stance, it will be very hard to get rid of. So he wants to change an environment. She figures he wants to start a business. She won’t force him to sign Non-Compete Agreement. So she asks him to tell her the truth.
The next day in the office, Hyun-Sik scolds Jung-Hyun. He thinks Seon-Hyuk should have arrived at work on time even if he’s going to resign. Jung-Hyun explains it to Hyun-Sik that Seon-Hyuk went to the Department Store to say goodbye to everyone. Hyun-Sik complains that everyone does what they want. He wonders is it an amusement park or a train station?
Eun-Tae announces that the meeting begins. Gi-Tae promises Eun-Tae that he will go to the department store after lunch. Jun-Ho tells Gi-Tae that those guys must complete the job within one week. He should encourage them, but he needs to put some pressure on them.

Eun-Tae meets Hae-Joo outside the cafe. He tells her that most of the colleagues don’t know the place. He would come to the cafe before he went to work everyday. She figures he wants to ask her about Hyang-Eun. The girl is going to join his team. So he wants to know her more. She says she has told him what she knows. Something happened to her when she was at the Branch Office in China. But the message is blocked, and nobody knows the details. Personnel transfers were put on hold at that time, but she made it to return to Korea.
Eun-Tae learns that Hae-Joo knows nothing. She admits it. But it’s not a good thing if someone is related to Hyang-Eun. He believes that Hyang-Eun will tell it to him when she’s ready. She thinks he has a good attitude. Take it easy. He just needs to think about how to use his team members. He says Hyang-Eun will take over team center.
Hae-Joo asks Eun-Tae about Ji-Hye. She’s a contract employee. She will feel uneasy. Now a woman from China flies over and takes her place. He says he should handle the matter strictly by the book. She thinks he’s so cold-blooded. She asks him doesn’t he have any empathy? He mentions she claims she’s very empathetic. He doesn’t understand why she refuses to be considerate of him. She tells him that he shouldn’t forget to care for his team members. He suggests that she should eat the dessert. It will spark her empathy.
Gi-Tae arrives at the department store. He helps the workers. He drinks at the cafe. He calls Jun-Ho. He tells him that the project is proceeding smoothly. He wants to go to other stores to check. Jun-Ho agrees. But he asks Gi-Tae to buy those guys drinks.
Jun-Ho hangs up. He thinks Gi-Tae became smarter. Gi-Tae meets Seon-Hyuk. He admits it to him that he came to supervise the work. Hyun-Sook returns to her office. Hyang-Eun is waiting for Hyun-Sook. Hyang-Eun reports it to Hyang-Eun that she has gone to the office to greet everyone. She feels good after she came back. But she felt a little awkward. She has mixed feelings, and she feels uneasy.
Hyun-Sook says it’s a hard decision to her. She’s not sure if she made the right choice to keep Hyang-Eun. Hyang-Eun understands Hyun-Sook’s worry. Hyun-Sook says although she approved it, it doesn’t mean she’s happy with it. She heard that someone reported Hyang-Eun. She guesses she jumped boat and protected herself. She’s not sure if she has nothing to say or chooses to remain silent. She thinks she embezzled public funds. But she has no evidence, so she shouldn’t jump to conclusion. So she kept her. The only thing she can do here is to work hard. If the audit results aren’t good, her efforts will still be worthwhile.
Hyang-Eun leaves Hyun-Sook’s office. She remembers she stole the file in China two months ago. But she was caught by the guard.
In the office, Eun-Tae notices that Ji-Hye is organizing the materials that Hyang-Eun asked her to organize. He tells her that she did a good job. Jun-Ho asks Ji-Hye to go to have lunch with him and Eun-Tae. But she says she’s not hungry. He thinks she cannot work when she’s on an empty stomach. He wants to bring her a salad. She’s happy to reject it.
Seon-Hyuk arrives at his company. He asks his employee to go to prepare his coffee. He calls Sponza. He asks him did Hongsung call him? Sponza says no. He tells Seon-Hyuk that he shouldn’t worry about it.
At Hongsung International, Eun-Tae, Jun-Ho and Gi-Tae talk about how to deal with Ms. Cha. Ji-Hye puts the stomach supplements on the table. The three guys take away the stomach supplements. Jun-Ho is surprised that Ji-Hye is taking the supplement as well. She points out that they’re a team. The three guys get in the elevator. She cheers them up outside the elevator.
At the restaurant, the three guys meet Ms. Cha and the store managers. Ms. Cha complains that Hongsung doesn’t hire new faces. Gi-Tae claims that he’s young. The people drink beer and wine. Ms. Cha learns that she’s going to promote Laknes. She knows the brand failed. She leaks the company wants to dig her. Jun-Ho tells her that she was tricked. He treats her as his real sister. He asks her not to hurt herself even if she doesn’t work with them.
They go to a nightclub. Jun-Ho promises Ms. Cha that he will buy her a bag. She asks Eun-Tae will they make it? Jun-Ho says he’s not sure. They will make it as long as she’s here. He wouldn’t invite her if he didn’t trust the brand. It’s the thing that only she can do it. He promises her that he will give her the highest standard of treatment.
Eun-Tae, Jun-Ho and Gi-Tae eat at the restaurant. Gi-Tae complains that those women could really hold their liquor. Jun-Ho thinks it’s not right that Gi-Tae badmouths those women after he had fun. He reminds him that they need them. Gi-Tae claims that he’s just surprised. Eun-Tae tells Gi-Tae that he should be careful when he speaks even if he goes to the new company. He asks him did he decide it?
It flashes back. Ms. Cha thanks Eun-Tae for his suggestion. She asks him why did he come in person? In the past, Jun-Ho accompanied them to drink. She heard that he didn’t get along well with his team members. He doesn’t deny it. He’s trying hard to fix it. She reveals Seon-Hyuk started a business. The guy is digging around. She saw Seon-Hyuk and Gi-Tae at the department store.
At present, Gi-Tae tells Eun-Tae and Jun-Ho that he didn’t intend to conceal it from them. Seon-Hyuk really dug him. Jun-Ho tells Gi-Tae that he should have told it to them immediately. Gi-Tae says he wasn’t the only one who Seon-Hyuk dug. The guy dug the employees in other teams as well. It’s a problem.
It flashes back. In the office, Seon-Hyuk tells Eun-Tae that Hyun-Sook agreed when he said he wanted to resign. Maybe she thought it was inevitable. She even felt grateful. He should walk aside so that people like Eun-Tae can climb up. His wife knows he resigned. She asked him to do anything he wants. But if he doesn’t have money to support the family, she will kill him. He regrets it. Sometimes, he would think should he have worked hard more?
Eun-Tae tells Seon-Hyuk that he will have a chance. But Seon-Hyuk says he didn’t become the team leader based on his own abilities. Eun-Tae tells Seon-Hyuk that he did a good job. Seon-Hyuk wishes Eun-Tae won’t be too disappointed in him if they meet at work.
At present, Eun-Tae returns home. He gets a call from Seon-Hyuk. He asks him why did he do it? Seon-Hyuk says he cannot smile to say goodbye to everyone since he’s betraying them. So he didn’t get in the company. It’s real that he dug. He let those guys decide it on their own. He asks him what will Hongsung do? After all, they will find a way to teach him a lesson.
Seon-Hyuk asks Eun-Tae will he stay in Hongsung? He reveals those guys thanked him for valuing them. Hongsung doesn’t know how to develop talent. Someone like Eun-Tae is trapped in power struggle. Seon-Hyuk asks Eun-Tae to consider it. But Eun-Tae says he will act as if they never talked about it. Seon-Hyuk tells Eun-Tae that he’s the reason that he left. He made the decision because of him.
Eun-Tae says he just mustered up the courage to do his job well. He doesn’t expect that the courage caused the result. The one who let Seon-Hyuk be the target of Hongsung was him.
The next day, Eun-Tae arrives at the office. Hyang-Eun shows him the report that Ji-Hye made. She figures Ji-Hye stayed up late for it. Ji-Hye wants to fix it. But Hyang-Eun tells Ji-Hye that it’s too perfect. Ji-Hye tears up.
On the roof, Eun-Tae figures Ji-Hye didn’t come to the place. She says she didn’t know there was such a place at the company. He apologizes to her for not taking her here. Especially, she has been here for four months. As a team leader, he didn’t find out that she was so anxious. He didn’t stop her because he saw how hard she was working. He didn’t expect that she was so uneasy. She’s a contract employee, and she only has one year. If she wants to stay, she should prove herself within one year. It’s very hard.
She says she’s not the only one who’s in the situation. She could do better. He tells her that he’s confident he can secure an opportunity for her. Because Team 5 needs her no matter what happens. He returns the file she organized to her. He asks her to keep it in her wallet. No matter what the result is, it cannot change her value as a creator. Don’t pin her hopes on him. She tells him that she will buy him a meal if she becomes a full-time employee. He says he wants to eat beef. He walks away.
Eun-Tae runs into Hyang-Eun in the hallway. She thinks she should have made the instructions clearer. But he says it was his mistake. She knows he wants to ask her many questions. Why didn’t he ask? He thinks she would say it early if she wanted to do that. She didn’t do that. It means she’s not ready. She tells him that it’s very hard to her.
