This is the recap of Encounter Korean Drama Episode 1, Soo-Hyun is divorced woman and owns a hotel. She runs into a handsome man Jin-Hyeok in Havana, and feels like she becomes a Cinderella. He also has feelings on her, and wants to confess his love. But she doesn’t arrive.
Encounter Korean Drama Recap: Episode 1

Soo-Hyun stands in the room and thinks the view is top class when the employee reports that their rooms gets fully booked. Mi-Jin reminds Soo-Hyun that she needs to get going.
They get in the car, but Mi-Jin keeps yawn. So Soo-Hyun offers to take a break at the rest area, and wants ramyeon instead of water. Mi-Jin reminds Soo-Hyun that it could become a hassle if her pictures get taken. Soo-Hyun has to give up her plan.
When they return to office, Mi-Jin gets some outfits which Hwa-Jin will like it. Soo-Hyun cannot stands it and asks Mi-Jin when she will end it. Mi-Jin thinks it will end when Soo-Hyun reaches 60. Because Hwa-Jin will pass away when she is 100.
Soo-Hyun shows up at the party and greets Hwa-Jin. Hwa-Jin thinks the outfit is good, but dislikes her purse. Woo-Seok mentions Soo-Hyun runs her hotel well, and it makes her think he is going to get marry with her again. She wonders why he doesn’t get married, so her mom won’t stick to her. He smiles and asks her to taste his girlfriend’s dishes, but it makes her sick.
Jin-Hyeok takes photos in street, and sneaks into someone’s house. The old man tells Jin-Hyeok that his love begins there and ends there. A bird stands on Jin-Hyeok’s table when he is going to drink. He shoots the bird with his camera, and the bird flies away.
Soo-Hyun stares at the picture of sunset. Mi-Jin reminds the driver not to text while driving. But the driver isn’t a good English speaker, and hits someone. Soo-Hyun notices something happens to Jin-Hyeok’s camera, and asks Mi-Jin to check his condition.
Jin-Hyeok tells Mi-Jin that his camera is broken, but rejects her compensating. Because he received it as a gift when he is born. He thinks it’s impossible to buy memories. Just then people blame Mi-Jin for parking the car in street. So she gives her business card to Jin-Hyeok, and leaves.
The president suggests Soo-Hyun to see the sunset of Malecon Beach, and reveals the color of the sunset is different each day. Soo-Hyun asks Mi-Jin about the person they hit. Mi-Jin thinks Jin-Hyeok will ask for $10,000. But Soo-Hyun disagree when seeing him playing with a little girl.
Mi-Jin offers to schedule dinner for Soo-Hyun, but Soo-Hyun wants to take sleeping pill and sleep. Mi-Jin smiles because she is happy to hear it. But Soo-Hyun changes her mind when she returns hotel, and asks Mi-Jin to go Malecon Beach with her. Mi-Jin yells at Soo-Hyun because she is picking up a guy. So Soo-Hyun threatens to fire Mi-Jin.
Soo-Hyun take the sleeping pill and appears in the hall, the old man suggests her to go to Morro Cabana because it’s the best place to fall in love. He calls a taxi for her, but the car is broken. So Soo-Hyun has to take the ferry. Jin-Hyeok sees Soo-Hyun walking at street, and takes photo of her.
Soo-Hyun arrives at the Morro Cabana, but her purse is stolen. Jin-Hyeok grabs her when she is sleepy and almost falls down. But her shoe slips off. When she wakes up, she wonders why she leaned on his shoulder and asks him to get the shoe for her.
So he is intention to get the shoe. But she is interested in the sunset, and thinks it’s prettier than the postcard she found in the hotel. He asks her to enjoy the music with his phone, and claims, “The sunset is two times more touching when watching it as you listen to the music.”
Meanwhile, Mi-Jin returns hotel and finds out Soo-Hyun took the sleeping pill. Jin-Hyeok picks up the shoe for Soo-Hyun, and she wants to repay him. But he rejects it and says his shoulder got luck. She asks him if he has any money, and wants to buy a bottle of beer.
He smiles because she is adorable, and finds out his wallet still has some cashes. She has the eye contact with him when Jin-Hyeok is walking, but avoids his eyes soon. She thinks he is like a green grape.
Jin-Hyeok takes the beers return and finds out she drinks too fast. He thinks she will end up drunk at that rate. But she points out that her liquor is better he can. He wonders why she dozed off with no money. She explains that she took a sleeping pill, and the pickpocket stole all her money.
He thinks it’s a tough day to her, and asks her if she still remember where she is staying. She denies. So he tells her to head down while handing out. She accepts it, and he notices her feet is hurt. So he suggests her to walk bare-footed, and takes off his shoes first to give her the courage.
While they’re are walking, Soo-Hyun asks Jin-Hyeok if he has a job. He says that he sells fruit, so she guesses he is a fruit vendor. She notices that his camera looks vintage, and asks him if it still works through. He says that it fixed a few times and got injured today.
She guesses that he must like the model. He shares it was given by his father’s friend when he was born. But his father didn’t take many photos of him because he was too busy. Jin-Hyeok stops by the shoe shop since they will come up the main street, where is rough and dirty to walk.
He thrills to take Soo-Hyun’s hand, but notices he is too rude. He asks her to choose a pair, and claims he will pay it for her. But she says that she will pay him back everything, so he jokes that he will note everything down. He chooses the funny shoes for her.
Mi-Jin looks for Soo-Hyun at the main street, but misses her. Soo-Hyun is hungry, so she asks Jin-Hyeok if he has more money. He says that he has enough to lightly fill up her empty stomach. So they go to the cafe. Soo-Hyun is surprised that the food is better than the hotel’s. He thinks it’s because she is hungry.
She denies as her palate isn’t that simple, and sees the poster of salsa show. So she asks him if he has the money to buy two tickets to the salsa show. He takes the money from themagazine, and it makes her laugh. So he puts the money back, and claims her laughing make him get upset. He says it’s young boy’s pocket money when she asks about it.
He tells her not to put on a straight face, even if it’s funny. He threatens her with the salsa show. She says that she will pay him back.
When they arrive at the taking place, Soo-Hyun thinks they’re lost. But she sees the dancers when they get in. Jin-Hyeok invites Soo-Hyun to dance, she agrees.
Soo-Hyun walks Jin-Hyeok and asks for his number. Because she wants to compensate him when she returns to Korea. But he tells her to treat it as a generous gesture made by a fellow Korean at a foreign country. She laughs and thinks he looks like an old man, and asks for his number again. But he thinks it’ll seem like he had an ulterior motive to get the beautiful lady’s number.
He asks her to buy him breakfast at the cafe tomorrow, but she doesn’t know her schedule for tomorrow yet. So he tells her that he will wait for 30 minutes and leaves. He tells the driver to take Soo-Hyun to Havana Hotel, but forgets to return her shoes.
Mi-Jin yells at Soo-Hyun when she returns. But Soo-Hyun says that she can have fun on her own too. Mi-Jin complains that she searched every corner of Havana, and notices that Soo-Hyun changed her shoes. Soo-Hyun laughs and thinks she has become Cinderella.
Mi-Jin tells Soo-Hyun that they needs to sign the contract again because the clause about the garden is missing. Soo-Hyun tells Mi-Jin to check where the owner is. Jin-Hyeok waits for Soo-Hyun in the cafe, but she doesn’t come. So he leaves the note on the wall and leaves as he needs to catch the train.

They run into at the airport and Soo-Hyun explains that some urgent matter suddenly came up. She tells him that she broke his camera, and offers to reserve a plane ticket for him. He rejects it. So she says that she didn’t but him breakfast, and asks him to give her the chance.
He reveals he worked part-time to prepare for the trip, and he wanted to see how much he could travel on his budget. So he wants to end it as it were planned. She leaves and looks at her watch.

Soo-Hyun arrives at the cafe, but Jin-Hyeok isn’t there. So she has to leave. Jin-Hyeok sees Soo-Hyun and Mi-Jin passing by. He takes out the business card Mi-Jin gave him, and finds out Soo-Hyun is the CEO of the hotel. Soo-Hyun walks Mi-Jin and tells her the camera is a 28-year-old model, but it’s still in production. Mi-Jin wonders why Soo-Hyun knows the age of the model, and Soo-Hyun says it’s a hunch. Meanwhile, Jin-Hyeok is informed that he passed the final interview of Donghwa Hotel. He is shocked when staring at Soo-Hyun.
