Aang is a rookie Avatar. He freezes himself in an ice ball when the soldiers of the Fire Nation attacks his hometown. He’s been asleep for 100 years until Katara opens the seal. Avatar: The Last Airbender informs the boy that his clansmen are gone. He needs to defeat the Fire Nation leader Ozai. Aang takes action. He teams up with Katara and her brother Sokka. They invade the shrine of the Fire Nation. Aang meets with the previous Avatar Roku. Roku defeats the guards for Aang. He teaches the kid how to take down Ozai.
Aang needs to learn all bending arts as an Avatar. But he only masters airbending. He needs to learn waterbending, earthbending and firebending. Fortunately, Katara is a waterbending master. She can teach Aang the art. But where the boy can learn earthbending. Avatar: The Last Airbender hints at Aang that Toph Beifong is a great earthbending master. Aang finds the blind girl. She shows him her great power in the arena. He knows she’s the master he’s looking for. He expresses a desire to be her student. She accepts him and she joins his team.
Aang Needs to Master Earthbending
Avatar: The Last Airbender gives a cumbersome task to Aang. The boy needs to master all bending arts before Sozin’s Comet comes. He visits the Northern Water Tribe and he learns Waterbending with Katara there. Katara masters the bending art soon. But Aang doesn’t master it. He needs to learn it from the girl. Katara wants to teach the boy. Because she falls for him after she got along with him. She knows he will defeat the evil king one day. She plans to marry him at that time.
Waterbending isn’t a problem to Aang since his little girlfriend can teach him. He plans to learn earthbending. But he doesn’t know where he can learn it. He thinks of his friend Bumi. Bumi is the lord of Omashu. Aang recognized him when he visited the city. Bumi is a great earthbending master. He will teach Aang the art since they have a good friendship. Aang decides to go to Omashu. But he doesn’t know his friend was caught by the princess of the Fire Nation Azula.
Zuko failed to catch Aang in the Northern Water Tribe. The fleet of the Fire Nation was ruined because of Zuko. Admiral Zhao was swallowed by the sea. Zuko worries that he will be scolded by his uncle. He flees to the resort with his uncle Iroh. They enjoy the leisure time after they brought the trouble.
Azula finds the two. She asks her brother to return to the Fire Nation with her. Because the king has forgiven Zuko. Zuko believes his sister’s lie. But Iroh knows his brother wouldn’t have mercy. He guesses it’s a trap. He persuades Zuko not to leave with Azula. But Zuko scolds his uncle because he wishes to win his father’s heart. He packs his stuff and he tries to get on Azula’s ship. He finds out that his uncle was right. His father is a terrible person.
The soldiers Azula brought try to arrest Zuko. Zuko teams up with Iroh. They defeat the soldiers and they flee to Omashu. They open a teahouse and they have some customers. Zuko doesn’t give up on arresting Aang even if he’s a fugitive. He doesn’t know the boy is on the way to his city for learning earthbending. It’s a good chance to him. But Azula targets the Avatar as well. She realizes that she needs some of her own people after the soldiers failed to catch Zuko and Iroh.
Aang Gets Some Clues About His Earthbending Master
Aang and Katara are on the way to Omashu in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Aang is very happy because he knows he will see Bumi soon. He expects his friend to teach earthbending to him. But he hears the bad news that the city is taken by Azula.
Fortunately, Azula isn’t in the city. She goes to hire her friends Mai and Ty Lee because she doesn’t trust her soldiers. Mai is an outstanding assassin. She knows how to use darts. Mai is also Zuko’s girlfriend. Ty Lee is a chi-blocking expert. Both girls are the fighters Azula wants to get. She plans to arrest the Avatar. Aang doesn’t know he’s in danger. He and Katara find the citizens of Omashu. He’s told that Bumi surrendered. He doesn’t believe that his friend would abandon his people.
The new lord is Mai’s father Ukano. He’s not sharp like Azula. Sokka tricks the lord and he makes him believe that the citizens of Omashu will create a plague. Ukano fears the plague. So he lets the people leave. Azula scolds Ukano after knowing he released the citizens. Aang finds Ukano’s son. He thinks it’s a good chance to save Bumi. So he offers to use Ukano’s son to exchange with his friend. Ukano agrees to it. But the ones who appear are Azula and her friends.
Azula is very happy after she found out that Aang is the Avatar. She knows her father will praise her if she catches the boy. She orders Mai and Ty Lee to go to catch Aang. The two girls are powerful. They give Aang and his team a hard time. But Zuko and Iroh appear after they received the message. Zuko wants to arrest Aang. He doesn’t wish his sister to take the credit. He fights Azula.
Aang catches the chance to save Bumi. But Bumi doesn’t plan to leave with his friend. He’s waiting for the chance to counterattack. He knows Aang is looking for an earthbending master. He thinks he’s not the right master. He knows there’s a more powerful earthbending master than him. He persuades Aang to go to look for the master. Aang says goodbye to his friend. Bumi returns the prison with his earthbending.
Aang begins his journey to go to look for the earthbending master after Bumi gave him some tips. He wonders who is the master. He has a dream that he runs into a girl with a flying pig in the swamp. He realizes that she’s the master he’s looking for. But he doesn’t know his master if a blind person.
Aang’s earthbending master is mysterious. Avatar: The Last Airbender makes fans be interested in the master. But the animated television series is going to disclose the veil of the role. Aang is excited that he will see his master soon. He goes to look for a girl who carries a flying pig. He believes what the dream told him. Katara and Sokka believe Aang after they met Bumi with the boy. They know they will get a new teammate. The teammate will fight enemies with her earthbending. They don’t know the teammate is just a kid like them.
Aang Sees Toph Beifong’s Power
The Avatar leaves Omashu. They go to Cranefish Town to look for the earthbending master in Avatar: The Last Airbender. They walk around the tower and they hear there’s a competition in the arena. They go to the arena. They see a blind girl Toph Beifong who’s going to fight the player.
Toph Beifong shows her earthbending. She defeats all the enemies even if she cannot see anything. Aang realizes that the girl is the master he saw in the dream. But the girl doesn’t have the flying pig. Aang challenges Toph Beifong. He uses his airbending to defeat the girl. He becomes the new winner. He asks her to be his earthbending master. But she rejects it because she’s not happy after he won.
Aang manages to find Toph Beifong’s home. Her father welcomes the Avatar team. He throws a party and he invites the earthbending master Yu. Toph Beifong dresses well. She shows a different side to Aang. She was a wild fight when she was in the arena. But she’s an elegant lady. Toph Beifong’s father Lao Beifong learns that Aang came to look for an earthbending teacher. He recommends Master Yu. But Aang isn’t interested in the master. He knows Lao’s daughter is better than Yu. But Lao claims that his daughter is weak and blind. So he thinks Toph cannot help the Avatar team. Toph beats Aang during the dinner. She concealed the secret from her family that she can fight. What Aang does almost exposes her secret.
Aang doesn’t give up. He knows he cannot defeat Ozai if Toph doesn’t teach him the earthbending. But the girl has some concerns. The owner of the arena Xin Fu catches Aang and Toph because the two got the prize. Sokka knows the guy kidnapped his friends for the money. So he returns the prize to Xin Fu. But Xin Fu only releases Toph. He plans to give the Avatar to Azula for the bounty.
Xin Fu owns many earthbenders. Katara and Sokka aren’t the guy’s rival. So they visit Toph. They wish the girl to go to save the Avatar. But Lao goes against it. He doesn’t wish his daughter to be in danger. Toph is very righteous. She goes to the arena. She defeats Xin Fu and the earthbenders. Master Yu is shocked after he witnessed his student’s earthbending. But Lao isn’t happy. He worries that his daughter will leave with those guys.
It’s a good news that Aang found his earthbending master. But Toph doesn’t want to leave with him. She comes from a rich family. Her father wishes her to be a stately lady. She actually doesn’t want to stay in the family. She thinks her freedom was taken away. But Lao wants to use the method to protect her daughter. He doesn’t know her daughter is very strong. She doesn’t need any one to protect her.
It’s what Aang wants to see. He needs a good earthbending teacher. Toph is the right woman for the job. Because he knows she wants to go to adventure with them. She doesn’t care if the Earth Kingdom will be taken by the Fire Nation. But she cannot control the wildness of her heart. Lao cannot stops her.
How Does Toph Beifong Become Aang’s Earthbending Master?
Toph Beifong owns great earthbending skills. Aang’s strength will increase if the girl teaches her the skills. Toph shows her real power to her father in Avatar: The Last Airbender. She claims that she doesn’t need anyone to protect. She wishes him to return the freedom to her. But he asks the servants to lock her up. He doesn’t allow her to leave her room.
Toph doesn’t expect that her father would do that. But the doors cannot block her. He forgets that she’s a great earthbending master. She breaks the door easily. She finds the Avatar team. She tells a lie to Aang that her father allowed her to leave with them. The guys don’t care for it since they just need an earthbender.
Lao gets angry after he found out that his daughter ran away from home. He hires Master Yu and Xin Fu. He asks the two to go to arrest his daughter. He thinks his daughter wouldn’t be so bold if the Avatar didn’t come. Toph begins to teach Aang the earthbending skills after she joined the team. But her teaching style is tough. She asks Aang to hit the rock with his head. He cannot get used to it.
Katara worries that Toph will hurt her boyfriend. So she persuades the teacher to be gentle to Aang when she teaches him. Toph takes Katara’s advice. She changes her style. One day, Aang learns how to use earthbending. His teacher praises him. He becomes an earthbender.
Zuko and Azula doesn’t know Aang has a new teacher. They still plan to arrest the Avatar. The Avatar team goes to the desert. They run into a professor. The professor takes them to the library. They don’t know how to get into the library. Toph finds out that the library is hidden under the desert. She lets the members get into the library. She guards outside.
Aang and his team walk into the library. The spirit Wan Shi Tong doesn’t welcome them. Because he dislikes humans. The the previous human Admiral Zhao visited the library. But he used the information in the library to kill the Moon Spirit. Aang and his friends promise that they won’t use the information they get to hurt others. Wan Shi Tong allows them to read the book. But Sokka finds the secret that the Fire Nation will be defeated if they attack the nation when there’s a solar eclipse. Wan Shitong learns that the stupid humans want to hurt others again. He decides to kill the guys when the library sinks. Toph notes that the library is going to sink. She tries to stop it. But the bandits steal Appa from her. Appa is a family to Aang. He scolds his teacher after knowing she failed to stop the bandits. He thinks she did it because she doesn’t care for Appa. Toph feels wronged because she saved the Avatar team. She finds the bandits then. She’s told that they sell the animal to Ba Sing Se.
