A flying sedan chair flies under the moon in Whispers of Fate episode 1. There’s a man sitting on the sedan chair. But we cannot see his face because he’s covered by the black curtain. The servants who carry the sedan chair wear masks. The sedan chair heads to a mansion in the city. The city owner mansion is held a wedding. The city owner bought the girl from the suburbs. The girl sold herself for burying her father. The city owner is very happy because he’s going to get the girl. But the guests regret for the girl because the city owner is aged.

The bride is silent when she sits on the chair. We cannot see her face as well because she’s covered by the red veil. The groom drinks with the guests. The man shows up on the rooftop. He plays the pipa. He doesn’t like the wedding. He thinks those guys are sinners. He kills them with his sound wave technique.
The storyteller leaks that the people of Hao Mansion were killed at a tea house. It reminds him the Sound Kill Art that disappeared. He mentions the seven top fighters fought the former National Advisor Yique Yinyang on the mountain top. One of the top fighters Fang Zhou used Sound Kill Art ever. Fang Zhou was the chief of Zhoudi Tower. He was good at playing zither. His disciples were good at playing flute and pipa. But Fang Zhou was killed by someone four years ago. His disciples went missing. The storyteller mentions the black robe guest carried the Sound Kill Art to bring trouble. Someone thought the guy is the successor of Fang Zhou.
Some people ride horses in the forest. They’re the disciples of Central Sword Meeting. The leader is Zhong Chunji who was sent by her master. She and the disciples are on the way to Wild-Goose County. She swears to arrest the murderer.
The bride is locked up in the prisoner. Her hands are tied by the chains. The guy takes Zhong Chunji to the Interrogation Room when he tells her that the girl confessed the appearance of Black Robe Pipa Guest. The girl claims that she doesn’t know the person. Zhong Chunji blames the guy City Owner Yang for using torture. He reminds her that all people were killed except the bride A Shui. He suspects that A Shui is the mole of the culprit. He reveals Mr. Hao saved his life ever. He did it for knowing the whereabouts of the murderer.
But Lady Zhong points out that Mr. Yang doesn’t have evidence. She reminds him that he broke the rules of Sword Meeting. He has to release the suspect after she yelled at him. But Lady Zhong points out that A Shui isn’t a suspect. She claims that she will report what happened there to Chief Shao. She hands over a cup of water to A Shui when she tells her that she’s fine. She tells her that she just needs to answer her some questions. She thinks Central Sword Meeting won’t wrong anyone. She asks her if she heard any weird sound.
A Shui reveals she heard the pipa music that could control people. She felt that she was weak. She couldn’t sense anything then. She woke up and the place was quiet. The quiet made her panic. The guy Liu Yan flied into the yard. He was proud after he saw the bodies. A Shui saw her husband’s body. She was startled. Liu Yan rushed to her. He wondered why she didn’t smile. Because it was her wedding. He held her chin. He asked her to remember his looks because they will meet again. He left.
Lady Zhong wonders why the Black Robe Guest left the survivor to identity him. But Mr. Yang doesn’t care for it. He thinks it’s a good news that they knew the guy’s looks. He’s told that the murderer is in Golden Leaf Temple. We go to the temple. The little monk is cleaning the yard. He complains that the two guys let him serve them. Mr. Yang takes his people to break into the temple. One of the guys grabs the little money. He asks the kid about the man in the temple.
Yang Shangqing pushes the kid. Lady Zhong blames him for bullying the kid. She thinks he’s a bandit. A Shui cares for the little master. He figures it out that those guys beat her. She lets him flee. Yang Shangqing reminds Lady Zhong that everyone in the temple can be accomplice because they helped the suspect hide. He orders his men to go to search the house. But the bodyguards are hurt by the silver ring.
The guy is sleeping in the tree. He threatens that he will attack them if they don’t leave. Yang Shangqing wonders who is the guy. The guy flies to A Shui. He carries her. They disappear. Tang Lici is carving the wood in another yard. The guy drops A Shui. He leaves.
The guy Chi Yun returns to the previous yard. Lady Zhong recognizes him. She wonders where he took the girl. Yang Shangqing figures it out that Chi Yun is the follower of Black Robe Guest. Chi Yun beats Yang Shangqing. It makes the guy vomit. Lady Zhong points her sword at Chi Yun. Chi Yun claims that Yang Shangqing cannot judge him. Lady Zhong asks Chi Yun to hand over A Shui to her. But he rejects it because he worries that those guys will torture the girl again. She claims that her sect will look into it. She thinks he broke the law because he kidnapped the girl.
Tang Lici asks A Shui to take care of the baby Feng Feng. Because Feng Feng was woken up. He puts his robe on her when she takes care of the baby. She takes a look at him. She’s startled because he’s like the Black Robe Guest. But their eyes are different.
Chi Yun fights Lady Zhong and her people. He cannot defeat them. Tang Lici casts a leaf to the big bell. It makes a sound wave. The wave repels the enemies. Lady Zhong learns that it was Sound Kill Art. Chi Yun asks those guys if any of them wants to get into the house. Lady Zhong knows she cannot defeat the top fighter in the inner yard. But she wants to meet the guy. She asks Chi Yun to show her the way. He praises her. He takes her to the inner yard.
Lady Zhong finds A Shui. Chi Yun blames Tang Lici for taking his spotlight. But Tang Lici thinks he didn’t help Chi Yun since the guy didn’t lose. A Shui reports to Lady Zhong that the murderer was like Tang Lici. Lady Zhong figures it out that Tang Lici comes from Zhoudi Tower. She asks him to help her look into the murder case.
Tang Lici lets Chi Yun give the seat to Lady Zhong. Lady Zhong asks the guy if anyone can testify for him. He wonders why she wanted to see him since she knew she’s not his rival. She points out that it proves that he’s related to the murder case if she’s dead. She thinks it’s worth it that getting the truth with her life. Chi Yun figures it out that the lady is the disciple of Shao Yanping.
Lady Zhong understands what Tang Lici means. She tries to take away A Shui. But Tang Lici keeps the girl. A Shui thanks Lady Zhong before Lady Zhong leaves. Chi Yun doesn’t understand what Tang Lici means. He decides to go to ask Lady Zhong about it. Tang Yici asks Chi Yun to ask Lady Zhong a question that what the bride didn’t do at the wedding. Chi Yun leaves.
A Shui wonders why Tang Lici is the same as the murderer since he’s not the murderer. He reveals he knew the murderer. He thinks his enemy disguised as him for taking revenge. Chi Yun stops Lady Zhong in the forest. He asks her about her followers. She reveals she sent those guys to Hao Mansion. She realizes that he has an important business since he came. He wonders what Fox Tang said to her. She brings up that Tang Lici asked her three questions. She thinks he heard it. He admits that he doesn’t understand it. She laughs and she explains it to him.
Lady Zhong and Chi Yun return to the wild-goose county in the evening. Lady Zhong suspects Yang Shangqing. Because the guy tortured the victim A Shui. She thinks he wanted to close the case. So he might be the murderer. But the Forensic Pathologist said that the victims were killed by Sound Kill Art. Lady Zhong mentions A Shui witnessed Black Robe Guest who’s like Tang Lici. Chi Yun points out that they failed to find the guy. Lady Zhong offers to think about Tang Lici’s question that what A Shui didn’t do. The restaurant owner tries to promote the Silkie chicken and the Osmanthus Wine. Lady Zhong realizes that the bride didn’t drink.
Lady Zhong and Chi Yun go to check the bodies. Lady Zhong discovers that the dead wasn’t poisoned. She thinks the Forensic Pathologist would get the result if the victims were poisoned. But Chi Yun believes Tang Lici. Lady Zhong wonders if there’s a poison killing people like Sound Kill Art. He reveals it’s Hundred-Step Kill. She wonders how he can prove. He mentions the well. He thinks there’s a clue in the well.
Lady Zhong and Chi Yun gather at the well. They pours the wine into the water. They find the poison. Chi Yun mentions Mr. Hao liked to drink Osmanthus Wine. He guesses the guy would entertain the guests with the wine. Lady Zhong mentions the Forensic Pathologist would examine the throat of the dead for verifying if it changes color. But the water and the wine passed through the throat one by one. It’s the reason that the Forensic Pathologist didn’t find the truth. Chi Yun realizes that he was set up. He mentions Tang Lici worried that Lady Zhong couldn’t find the truth. So he tricked him to help her find the truth. Tang Lici burns the chess pieces from the chessboard.
The next day, Abbot plays Go with Tang Lici in the inner yard. He persuades him not to use skill because he doesn’t recover. He mentions he didn’t leave the temple but the business visited him. Tang Lici guesses he brought trouble to Abbot. Abbot blames Tang Lici for stealing the chicken. He thinks what the guy brought is the cause and the effect. Tang Lici wonders if it’s his cause and effect that someone was killed because of him. Abbot persuades Tang Lici to go to stop it. But Tang Lici worries that there will be more people killed. He wonders if it’s a Mercy. He tells Abbot that it’s his mistake. Because he lost.
Fang Pingzhai shows up. He reveals he came to deliver the message. He gives the letter to Tang Lici. He reveals someone asked him to give the present to Tang Lici. He laughs to leave. Tang Lici opens the present. He sees half a Jade Flute. He takes the flute. He remembers he passed out after the flute was cut off. His thumb was hurt by the flute. Abbot wonders if it hurts. Tang Lici denies it.
Lady Zhong is at Hao Mansion. She wonders why Mr. Yang killed those people. Chi Yun thinks the guy did it for the benefits. Lady Zhong points out that Mr. Yang wouldn’t poison those guys since he owned a helper who can cover the crime for him. She suspects that Mr. Yang is concealing something. Chi Yun realizes that someone wants to hurt Tang Lici.
Chi Yun breaks into Mr. Yang’s mansion when Mr. Yang tries to flee with the gold. Mr. Yang orders his servants to kill Chi Yun. But Chi Yun defeats those guys. He catches Mr. Yang. He asks him why he wanted to hurt Tang Lici. Tang Lici walks into A Shui’s room. A Shui is embroidering a pouch for Feng Feng. She reveals she did it because she liked the baby. She wishes his wife not to blame her. But she’s told that he doesn’t have a wife. The baby was picked up by him. She thinks it was a fate that he kept the child. He explains it to her that he did it for knowing the feelings that adopts a child. She points out that he gave a name to the baby. She thinks he has bondage since he did it. He remembers his master gave a name to him. He asks her to go to ask Abbot for an amulet for peace since she suffered. But she wants to repay Mr. Hao. Tang Lici is surprised that the girl knows nothing about it. He thinks she’s just the chess piece that Liu Yan abandoned.
A Shui chases Tan Lici out of her house. She wonders why she became the abandoned chess piece since she did nothing wrong. She wonders what role he plays. Lady Zhong arrives at Mr. Yang’s house. She sees Chi Yun sitting on Mr. Yang. Mr. Yang asks the lady to save him because he worries that Chi Yun is going to kill him. Chi Yun plans to beat the guy so that he will confess. But she doesn’t allow him to beat Mr. Yang. He guesses Mr. Yang wanted to flee with the gold after they found his secret. Lady Zhong asks Mr. Yang to explain where he got the gold. He claims that he earned it. But Chi Yun threatens to beat the guy. Mr. Yang has to confess that he killed the people of Hao family. Chi Yun questions Mr. Yang why he wronged Tang Lici. Mr. Yang reveals Black Robe Guest forced him to do that.
Mr. Yang was scared after he left Hao Mansion. He ran into Liu Yan. Liu Yan praised Mr. Yang for what he did. Mr. Yang promised to give anything to Liu Yan. He wished him to keep his life. Liu Yan asked Mr. Yang to take the people of Central Sword Meeting to visit Tang Lici at the Golden Leaf Temple.
