Shirley and Knox run to the incinerator in Silo Season 3 episode 5. Shirley takes a look at the incinerator. She thinks they need to save Juliette. But Billings goes against it. He says the poison could still be inside. The guy persuades Knox that if he opens the incinerator, they will be killed. The fire stops. Billings wants to wait for 48 hours.
Knox orders to clear the cafeteria. He opens the door. He and Shirley carry Juliette out of the incinerator. The people in the Silo sing a song for Juliette.
At present, Bernard tells Juliette that everyone saw them being lowered down. But she says everyone thinks he’s dead. She asks him how he ended up down there. Robert shows up behind her. He asks her what she thinks.
It flashes back. Legacy tells Robert that he and his son must leave the vault. But Camille can stay. Robert gives his wife a hug. She says it’s fine. He leaves the vault. He closes the door. He tells Anthony that his mother is safe. Now they will find a safe place.
Robert leaves his son’s bedroom with a gun. He sees Camille. He says their son is asleep. She cannot stay long. But she needed to see him. He asks her what happened in the vault after he and his son left. But she refuses to talk about it. He’s confused. She asks him if Bernard told him about what happened in the room. Or what the voice was. He says he knew Bernard got instructions in there. But he didn’t know how. He figures it out that she doesn’t want to tell it to him.
He says he didn’t go out after he came to the place. He has no idea what’s going on. She says it’s calm. Bernard and Juliette came back inside. They survived the life. Barely. He asks her did the poison get in? She says it doesn’t look like. Did anyone try to open the door? She says no. She tells him that the rebellion was over the second Juliette appeared over the top of the hill. But there’re still threats to the Silo. Bernard Holland. Lukas Kyle. And Juliette Nichols.
He asks her if she wants him to kill them. She says she’s telling him there’s a problem. She thinks they know it’s not the first time the head of IT asked him to handle a problem for them. He asks her what’s the concern? She says they know things that could threaten the Silo. He figures it out that it’s things he cannot know. He asks her what’s the order of priority? She says Lukas Kyle is the lowest. When he finds him, just make sure he doesn’t speak to anyone.
Juliette and Bernard are the greatest threat. He asks her which one is the greatest threat. She says whoever seems likely to talk first.
Robert goes the Medical Department. He asks the doctor if Juliette and Bernard say anything. She says Juliette is unconscious. Bernard has made sounds, not words. Pain response. He’s badly burned. The suit Juliette was wearing protected her. Bernard’s had a lot of burn-through. Juliette has some burns where the medal in her collar and wristbands heated up.
He asks her what’s her plan if the two don’t make it. She says they don’t have a protocol for any of this, but she had plastic sheeting and remains bags placed in their rooms. She doesn’t believe traditional burial would be safe. The poison. He says incineration then. But she says the incinerator’s 140 levels down. And if the bodies are contaminated, and she would has to assume they are, they’ll have to be wrapped in plastic before being put in the bags. Protective suits for the porters. Clear the stairs. It won’t be easy. He says then let’s hope they live.
Robert walks into Bernard’s ward. He removes Bernard’s Oxygen Mask. Bernard tells Robert that he knows the voice wants him dead. They can kill them at any time. The whole Silo. That’s what Lukas Kyle found out. He told him that Juliette knows how to stop it. Robert uses the plastic sheeting to wrap Bernard’s head. But he holds a knife to leave a single opening for him. So Bernard can breathe. Robert takes Bernard to visit the guy. He tells the guy that he has a job for him.
In Mechanical Office, Carla asks Walker if she’s going to go to the Medical. Walker denies it. She says she’s not a doctor. He cannot help Juliette. She has plenty to keep her busy there. Carla wishes they will have an apartment in Mechanical. She doesn’t want to sleep at the place. Walker asks Carla if she will stay. Carla says she’s thinking about it.
Robert shows up. He tells Walker and Carla that he needs their help. Carla asks Robert why he thinks they will help him. She reminds him that they hate him. He says because his wife is the new head of IT, and she wants Juliette dead. If they help him, they can stop that from happening. Walker learns that Robert is going against his own wife. He says in five minutes, he’s meeting with a group of porters in the incinerator room. Once they leave, he has to make a body disappear, and he needs their help to do it. The Silo has to believe this person is dead. He asks them to meet him there. Or they can choose not to do that. But Juliette’s life is on the line. Walker asks Robert who he wants disappeared.
The porters carry the body into the incinerator room. Robert tries to burn the body. But he stops the machine. He opens the bag. Bernard is smiling at Robert. He tells him that he did it because the drugs he gave him. Walker and Carla show up with a cart. Walker tells Robert that she has a condition. If anything happens to their girl, they will tell Camille that he betrayed her. And they toss Bernard into the incinerator for real. He offers to get moving.
But Carla worries that Robert’s wife will handle Juliette while he’s down there with them. He promises her that nobody will touch Juliette.
The guy Robert hired goes look for Juliette. But the stairs were closed. The girl reveals the poison got one of them. They said it wasn’t Juliette. It was Bernard. He was taken to the incinerator. The guy wonders who will be the new mayor if he’s dead. He says they need a mayor. If they don’t choose someone, they will choose for them. He mentions they just had a rebellion. They need someone they can trust in charge. How about someone who went out and came back? She says Juliette for Mayor when he raises her photo. The people support him.
It’s the method that Robert uses to protect Juliette. He hires someone to incite people to choose Juliette for mayor. He cannot promise Camille won’t kill Juliette. But if Juliette becomes mayor, that will be a different story.
Walker takes Bernard back to her place. She makes a bowl of soup. She feeds him the soup when he lies in the bed. But he doesn’t like the taste. It reminds him that he was burned. The evil villain. He’s just a weak old man now. Camille becomes new evil villain. She’s the one who controls the Silo.
Walker asks Bernard about all these other silos. Are they all like their silo? He thinks so. She asks him if they all have radios. He says they do. She wonders how come they haven’t heard them. He tells her because she’s listening to the wrong signal. He asks her for a radio. He will show her what he knows.
Robert shows up. He reports it to Walker that Juliette took the oath of office from her hospital bed. They’re discharging her this week. Bernard realizes that they’ve started her on the forgetting drugs. They need to make sure that she doesn’t remember what she saw in Silo 17. Robert says if Juliette takes them too long, she will forget everything. Walker thinks they must stop it. Robert says it’s very hard to achieve it. Camille’s got Juliette on a tight leash.
Walker asks Robert if there’s a way of reversing. Of getting Juliette’s memories back. Bernard says there’s talk in The Order. The Order is like the Pact, but just for the head of IT and their shadow. It gives instructions on what to do when things go wrong. When it describes the use of the forgetting drugs on people, it says it’s essential to keep them from artifacts from their past, as these artifacts can trigger memories.
Walker learns that is why Bernard had his goons looking for relics all of these years. Robert says he never knew about The Order. But the Pact says a lot about what’s outlawed. But never said why. He decides to take action. He thinks if they’re going to get Juliette off those drugs, there’s someone he needs to see. He hopes it’s not too late.
The girl Regina looks for her cat at her house. Robert shows up when he has the cat in his arms. He reminds her that she left her door open. She realizes that he’s going to bring trouble to her. He tells her that he needs her to get these pills to Amy Hansen. She’s the nurse attending Mayor Nichols. She says she doesn’t know Amy from a bar of soap. She doesn’t understand why she would take anything from her. He says he will send her to an intermediary. Someone who knows Amy Hansen.
She will tell the intermediary that at some point, Amy will need to replace Nichols’s vitamins with these pills. She takes a look at the bottle. She suspects it’s a poison. He says it’s just sugar. So she asks him what’s in the pills Nichols are getting now. He says it’s best if she only knows what she needs to know. He’s right. If she knows it, she will disappear from the world. He asks her will she do it? She knows she doesn’t have a choice even if his voice is so gentle. She’s afraid of him.
But he tells her that she does. She asks him what will happen to her if she doesn’t do as he says. Will her family suddenly get hauled to Judicial? Will her friend bump into a raider and suddenly go over the rail? He says it won’t happen. She doesn’t understand it. He tells her that he’s just asking if she will help. He returns the cat to her. She mentions his wife is the new head of IT. She asks him if his wife knows about it. He says she doesn’t know. She agrees to help him.
She takes over the medicine from him. He asks her to start trading in relics again. He knows anything that belonged to Nichols. Raiders and agents, they will look the other way. She says a lot of her stuff’s been scooped up by those women who dress like her. She needs something to trade. Something small. Maybe with her name on it. Her sheriff’s badge. Ten of them should be enough.
Robert meets Bernard at Walker’s place. Bernard asks Robert where he got the badges. Robert says there’s a craftsman in the market who owed him. Bernard figures it out that the guy is afraid of Robert. Walker mentions fifth silos, all given the same radio. Each silo using a different frequency. She takes a magnifying glass to check the radio.
She asks Bernard what did he say they were called again? He says in the book, it calls them channels. She has turned the radio to another silo’s channel, so that, in here, they can talk without anyone hearing. He says Silo 1 monitors all of the active frequencies, so use it sparingly. And in code. She decides to go to take some more food. His appetite’s returning.
Walker takes a bag. She leaves her room. Bernard looks at her. He asks Robert if he will head up soon. Robert says his quarantine doesn’t officially end until noon. Bernard asks Robert what he’s gonna tell his wife. Robert mentions his wife asked him to take care of whoever might talk first. That was Bernard.
Robert asks Bernard if he’s sure he doesn’t want to get Nichols off the drugs. Bernard says they cannot let it happen too soon after Robert returns from quarantine. Robert reminds Bernard the longer they wait, the more difficult it will become. But Bernard doesn’t want to lose Robert. Robert is indispensable. Bernard is impressed with how Robert has handled, well, everything. Robert would have been a great shadow. But Bernard is glad he didn’t give the job to Robert. Being head of IT is a brutal, thankless, impossible task. It’s not better for the shadow. The things that voice in the vault made him do.
He thought the greatest risk was from some fool trying to open the door. Camille has it far worse. They had to tell her about the Safeguard, and she cannot speak about it to anyone. Bernard guesses she’s burning alive from the inside.
Bernard is the leader of the team that saving Juliette. He stops Robert when the guy wants to save Juliette early. He thinks clearly before Robert is reckless. He knows Robert is an important role to the team. He cannot lose him. He’s right. Juliette was killed if Robert didn’t do those things. If Robert is killed, the plan will fail.
Bernard is also repenting. He knows what he did is wrong. But he had no choice when he was the head of IT. He was tricked and he tried to prevent people from leaving the Silo. He was a good mayor, but a lot of people didn’t understand him.
This is why Bernard feels relieved after knowing Robert didn’t become the new head of IT. As the shadow he likes most, he doesn’t want him to follow in his footsteps. He feels sorry for Camille. He knows her agony since she’s in the position that he was in. He also tells Robert the answer that his wife didn’t tell. The Safeguard.
It makes me wonder what will happen to Robert and Camille. Camille was a good woman. But she’s changed after she became the minion of Legacy. Her husband becomes her enemy for saving people in the Silo. She has been the public enemy of all people in the Silo. She doesn’t know what Robert is doing right now. But they will face it soon.
At present, Juliette learns that Robert wanted to bring her down there when he met her in the pump room. Bernard says Juliette was going to talk to him on the radio. Robert says they didn’t want anyone coming there, but Juliette and her friend ruined it.
He tells her that the dream she had of her and Bernard in the air lock. That wasn’t a dream. It was a memory. It happened. She looks at Bernard. She asks him if he had a gun. He says yes. She asks him if he was gonna go out to die. He says yes. She wants to know what happened then. He tells her that she happened. He said to her that they can kill them all at any time. She said maybe not. He asks her what did you mean by maybe not? She cannot remember it. Robert comforts Juliette that it’s fine. They have a plan.
Juliette goes to the void. She sees Robert and Bernard. She knows what happened after the two explained it to her. She knows Robert didn’t try to catch her, and Bernard and her had a talk in the air lock. But the problem is that she forgets what happened when she was in Silo 17. The memory is very important to Robert and Bernard. Without the memory their saving is futile.
Patrick and Lukas Kyle get out of the trash chute. Lukas Kyle helps Patrick close the gate. Patrick is surprised that Lukas Kyle wasn’t flustered. Lukas Kyle says he did it. But he learns not to show it in the mines. Patrick asks Lukas Kyle if the bad bullies don’t pick on him if he does so. Lukas Kyle denies it. He says because there’s no point.
Shirley is in Walker’s room. She learns that there’re fifty silos. She asks Walker if they’re all like them. Walker reveals there’s one silo that can kill them. Knox asks Walker why she’s only telling them now since she has known about it for months. She says she couldn’t tell them. She asks them not to tell anyone. They’re safe there. But if anyone speaks about it openly, they will kill them. Shirley asks Walker how would that actually happen? Walker says if she knew that, they wouldn’t need Juliette.
Shirley asks Walker why would they kill them? Walker hasn’t a clue. All she knows is that they could. That’s all she needs to know. The reason she’s telling them this and scaring them is that she needs their help. She didn’t expect that Juliette visited the digger void. So it means Camille might go down there looking, and there’s something down there that they cannot let her find.
Walker says she has to move it, and it’s not light. Shirley asks Walker how much it weighs. Walker says it’s about 250. She looks at Knox. She wants to give the job to him. Because he’s strong. But he asks her if she’s kidding. He realizes that Bernard is alive.
Carla opens the door. She finds out that Billings slept in her office. He says it’s not a sleep. She tells him that there’s a hostel three levels up. She asks him if everything is all right with his home life. He mentions he told her that he needed to see her immediately. This is not immediately. She asks him if he’s gonna play the sheriff card after all they’ve been through. He says it’s not a card. It’s a badge. And yes, he is. She claims she came as soon as she could. If Orla isn’t there, then she doesn’t know where she is.
He says Orla is in the morgue on 62. She was murdered. He feels sorry, but he needs to keep moving on it. She says it’s her fault.
Lukas Kyle removes the block. He takes Patrick into the building. Patrick tries to light a match. But Robert takes down Patrick. He tells him that he needs to be very quiet. Robert takes Lukas Kyle and Patrick to see Walker. She asks him why they’re there. He says they know too much to be anywhere else. He asks Regina if she has the relics. Regina shows Juliette a box. Juliette takes out some relics from the box. She touches them all. Robert asks her if she remembers anything.
She says she knows what these things are and she recognizes them. But she doesn’t remember nothing about how to stop them from killing them. Patrick interrupts Robert. He asks him who are the people who can kill them. Robert tells Patrick that they need him to be quiet right now. Lukas Kyle realizes that Robert knows about the Safeguard then. Robert admits it.
Lukas Kyle asks Robert if he knows that they can kill them at any time. Juliette says they know that, but she doesn’t know why, and she cannot remember anything. He wonders how is the box supposed to help? Regina explains it to him that the hope is things from her past might jump-start her memory. He walks to the box. He opens it. He finds out that they’re toys. She says she got everything she could. What he means is that maybe if they got something that’s more relevant to when this all started.
He reminds Juliette that when they met, she was asking the big questions. Why they’re there. What’s all for. But, really, all she was interested in was what happened to George. When she went down to the bottom of the Silo, he found a tunnel that led to a door, and at the door a voice said that only three people had ever been there. Salvador Quinn, Mary Meadows, and George Wilkins. Patrick says on the hard drive. There was a guy who was talking to him, and Danny said that guy was George.
Lukas Kyle asks Patrick did he say anything how to stop the Safeguard? Patrick denies it. He adds that he found a door. Regina says the guy wanted to find that door for a long time. Lukas Kyle figures it out that she knew George as well. He asks her have you find anything that belonged to him that maybe means something to Juliette? She says the thing she wanted to get wasn’t gettable. Juliette mentions the watch. George gave her a watch ever. Lukas Kyle knows the watch.
He asks Regina why was it un-gettable? Robert reveals it was taken from Juliette before she was sent out to clean. Bernard gave it to Juliette’s father. He was wearing it when he blew up the stairs. But Walker says Juliette’s father wasn’t wearing it. He gave it to somebody else.
Hank shows up. He tells Juliette that his father wanted him to give it back to her, if he ever saw her again. But she wasn’t really her when she came back. So he kept it. He wants to tell something to her. But it’s just for her. He takes her aside. He says her father asked him to tell her that he loved her. He wanted her to keep fighting. And never stop being herself because she’s perfect. Exactly as she is.
Hank gives the watch to Juliette. She remembers George put the watch on her, and they had a kiss. Robert joins her. He asks her is there anything else? He says it’s time they head up. He doesn’t know what they’re going to say, but they have been gone too long. But she doesn’t want to give up. She asks the people in the room that if they have anything else. They say no. So Juliette leaves with Robert.
Carla takes Billings to Critical Supply. She says the place can only be accessed by the head of Supply or their shadow. She opens the gate. He gets in the warehouse. She says every item that goes out there requires three different kinds of approval. And the head or their shadow to be in attendance when those items are pulled. Critical Supply contains things that were loaded in there when the Silo first began. The kind of things that they cannot make more of. That’s why it’s called critical.
He gets what she means that when they run out, they’re out. She asks him to go to pick up one of those boxes. He tries to do it. But he’s not strong enough. So she helps him. They pick up a box together. She asks him to go to pick up another one. He does it. He notices that it’s an empty box. She explains it to him that they keep the empty boxes to stop anyone who might get in there from doing the math. The amount of panic it will cause if people find out. She asks him how much time they have left.
Shirley and Knox find Bernard in the void. Shirley throws a rope on Bernard’s bed. Bernard asks the two if they’re gonna pull him up. She says unless they let go. He asks them if they’re enjoying his discomfort. He says for 25 years, he did what he was told he had to do to keep the Silo safe. Shirley asks Bernard if he expects them to forgive him. For murdering the judge? Blaming it on them? Telling the entire Silo to kill them? He says he doesn’t expect it after he realized his sins.
He says they both were caught in the middle of an unfortunate circumstance. When they pull him up, he wouldn’t be surprised or offended, if they just let him go. Knox walks to Bernard. He helps him get dressed.
In Critical Supply, Billings opens the boxes. He asks Carla what it means. She says twenty years ago they had 70 years of light bulbs left. Just before she moved to Mechanical, about three months ago, they were down to 50 years. But a month ago, she did a check, and she found out that the theft they’ve been dealing with in Supply for years was also happening in Critical Supply, and that’s when she made Orla her shadow.
He figures it out that she didn’t trust Glenda. She says Glenda is capable but prickly. But Orla, she’s from a long line of Supply-siders, so she knew she could trust her with the job and with something else. He realizes that she asked Orla to help her find who was stealing in Critical Supply. And she thinks that’s why Orla got killed. He asks her if they cannot find those light bulbs, how long do they have? She says with what they got left. It’s two years. After that, they won’t be able to replace the ones that go out on the farms. And when they go, their food goes. So, it’s only a matter of time before they die in the dark.
Juliette and Robert are heading up. She asks him what he thinks Camille will do when they arrive there. He doesn’t know. She thinks he should put her in handcuffs and make a scene out of it. He says Camille wanted her dead. Handcuffs aren’t gonna cut it. She reminds him that one big shove, she will go over the rail. They have enough time. He says he’s tired.
He tells her that since that night she went into his apartment, something changed in his boy. Maybe in him as well. She apologizes to him. He says he didn’t bring it up for that reason. He gave something to his son. Told him it’d keep him safe. And it kinda became their thing. Like a secret between them. And the more Bernard talked about artifacts being able to trigger someone’s memory, the more he convinced himself that this thing will help his son remember him, if Camille releases the vitamin D. Like it was gonna perform some kind of magic or something.
But it wasn’t him to keep. It was hers. George gave it to her. Robert gives the Pez to Juliette. He asks her was it important? She remembers how to save everyone. She tells George that there’s poison in a pipe. It comes from outside the Silo. They capped it in Silo 17. He asks her where it comes in. She doesn’t know. She has to talk to the others. He asks her to go. She runs away. He sees Camille then.
It flashes back. Daniel and Helen are in the van. They’re on the way to see Sam. He says he’s at the call center, and he got a call, which is weird because he didn’t know he could get incoming calls in that system. But Sam did two years with the NSA, so he knows it.

She asks him what Sam said. He says who’s the number one advocate for AI control who also happens to fund the clinic where his sister’s trying to build her memory. She figures it out that it’s Per Stensen. He offers to take a guess at where Per Stensen was the night of Operation Righteous Vengeance. She guesses the guy was on the Nimitz. He says the Nimitz is usually based in San Diego, but it’s been in Norfolk since it got back from Iran. Sam knows someone on the base who’s willing to talk to them off the record.
She wonders what changed Sam’s mind. He guesses it’s Charlotte. Sam knows what Charlotte means to him. He knows he and Sam didn’t just play in a band together. They got shot together, and he has barely heard him that scared. She learns that he thinks all of this has to do with AI through. He doesn’t know. But the other carrier groups that night sent out 20, 30 sorties, and the Nimitz sends out one. With four planes equipped with the pre-digital comms, and then suddenly. He suddenly turns the steering wheel. She gets angry and she thinks he should have told it to her before he did it. He says it wasn’t him. He’s not driving. Someone else is.
