A Love Other Than Yours: Episode 1 Recap

In the evening, Namgung Ho goes to the restaurant in A Love Other Than Yours episode 1. He meets Mi-Do. He says he came for the first. He wants to know is there any good food here? She gets a call from Paula. She says she’s not in a good mood. She wants to drink alone. But someone keeps talking to her. As long as she ignores him, he will understand it and walk away.

Namgung Ho pretends to talk to his friend as well. He complains why are there so many people thinking they’re good? He just came to drink alone. Because he came for the first time, so he asked her to recommend dishes. She mistook that he wanted to hit on her. He was rejected before he confessed.

Namgung Ho tells Mi-Do that she’s not his type as well. He thinks she’s not aware of it. They go to the house. They kiss. He mentions they don’t know each other’s names. She says if she wanted to talk, she would take him to a cafe. He says that he’s always praised that he’s good at kissing. He lets her lie on the couch. He kisses her. She asks him who said that he was good at kissing. He thinks it’s not important at the moment.

She shows him the ring. She claims that she doesn’t want him to kiss her. He asks her does she feel guilty toward her boyfriend? She denies it. She says she does it because his skills are terrible. She asks him to get off her. He complains it to her that she was really bummed. It was pretty fun just now, it’s been a long time since they have done this. She throws the pillow at him.

Mi-Do says she met Namgung Ho when they were seven years old. From childhood to adulthood, they’ve seen each other’s truest selves. They spent their carefree teenage years together. They had been just friends for a long time. They became lovers until they’re 26 years old. They’ve been dating for ten years now.

Mi-Do puts her legs on Namgung Ho. He asks her why has she been so listless lately? First, filming was suddenly postponed by two months. Second, she watched the movie, and she found out that Hae-Na’s acting was terrible. Third, the production company kept rejecting the music director that she wants. Fourth, she thinks it’s a shame that they didn’t kiss enough.

He tries to kiss her. But she blocks his mouth with one finger. She says Fifth, because he was late, it caused her to not be able to buy the Breaded Shrimp. He volunteers to help her order fried chicken. She wants Double-Cheese Sticks. He says it’s not a problem. He persuades her to show off her best moves to make a masterpiece.

The next day, Namgung Ho calls Mi-Do. He asks her to get up from bed. She tells him that she loves him. She runs out of toothpaste. So she gets in his bathroom to brush teeth. But he throws clothes at her. She’s furious to yell at him.

In the factory, Namgung Ho watches the footage that Hae-Na filmed. Mi-Do disallows any Personal Photography on the set. Namgung Ho reads the comments. The fans think his girlfriend is a dictator. He tries to tell the fans how good his girlfriend is. But he sees the Plant Manager. He asks him to pay him because he worked for him. Namgung Ho returns to the company. He convinces his boss Ho-Sik to make some changes.

Namgung Ho and Mi-Do eat with Mi-Do’s mother, Sook-Hee at home. Sook-Hee asks the two to decide to get married or break up. Young-Do thinks Sook-Hee is insane. He reminds her that Namgung Ho works at a big company. He shouldn’t marry a girl who has no security. Wan-Do says Namgung Ho is like his brother. He doesn’t want him to suffer. Sook-Hee is furious to beat her two sons. She asks Namgung Ho not to be tricked by Mi-Do.

She mentions Mi-Do asked her to go to see a house. But Mi-Do never made it. Namgung Ho persuades Sook-Hee not to bring up the past. But she glares at him. He says what she said is right. He tells Mi-Do that her mother said so because she loved her. He guesses Sook-Hee saw the cover about Mi-Do. Mi-Do is serious this time.

Wan-Do tells his mother that he saw it as well. Hae-Na posted it on the social media. But Young-Do points out that it doesn’t mean anything even if Mi-Do filmed movies. There’re a lot of movies never having a chance to be released.

Namgung Ho says Mi-Do is only bullied at home. Everyone calls her director outside. Sook-Hee mentions Namgung Ho and Mi-Do had a deal that they would get married after Mi-Do became a director. She gives them six months to resolve it.

Namgung Ho explains it to Sook-Hee that Mi-Do’s movie delayed because the Snow-Capped Mountains scenes. She slaps the table. She asks him when they will get married. She thinks it’s just an excuse. Mi-Do slaps the table as well. She asks Namgung Ho does he have some stomach medicine? Sook-Hee mistakes that Mi-Do is pregnant. She asks her not to take any medicine. But Mi-Do is sure that she’s not pregnant. Because she and Namgung Ho haven’t slept together for six months.

Namgung Ho and Mi-Do leave Sook-Hee’s house. Namgung Ho blames Mi-Do for leaking it in front of her mother. She says if she didn’t say so, they’re talking about honeymoon. She thinks he should thank her. But he won’t thank her even if she went to great lengths. She thinks what she said is right. He says they have been busy, so they didn’t do it. He asks her has it really been that long? He tries to count it. She stops him.

She mentions she told him not to visit her mother. Her mother does this every year around this time. He says she did it because she worried about her. They considered to get married. She asks him if he wants to get married. He admits it. He asks her does she not want?

They return home. She says it’s not that she doesn’t want. It’s just she would be afraid of it. She’s not sure about the result even if she’s making a movie. She knows herself very well. She’s selfish, and she would only think of herself. If she married him, she would be content with comfort and stability that he brought to her. She wouldn’t write, and she would let him raise her. It doesn’t work. That kind of life is too terrible. He points out that she raised him before.

He hands over the medicine to her. He mentions she has indigestion. He cooks Abalone Porridge for her. He knows she didn’t eat anything. She says she doesn’t want to drink porridge. She asks him to use it to make fried rice. He persuades her to drink porridge. Because she has an upset stomach. He reminds her the summer vacation when they were in ninth grade. The next day, Yeon-Joo meets Mi-Do at the restaurant. She persuades her not to be involved in a lawsuit. But Mi-Do rejects it. She leaves the restaurant. She walks under the bridge. She steps in a puddle on the ground. She steps back. She looks at the puddle.

Two weeks ago at the swimming pool, the guy reports it to Mi-Do that Hae-Na cannot film today. Because Hae-Na has a personal event of a brand. Her manager accidentally forgot it. Mi-Do is furious to find Hae-Na in her van. She drags her to the Diving Platform. Hae-Na tells Mi-Do that she won’t let it go. Mi-Do knows the man is a married man. Hae-Na realizes that Mi-Do tailed her. Mi-Do tells Hae-Na that the movie is a chance that she had worked so hard to seize.

She’s determined to give it her all to make the movie. If she doesn’t want her life to be ruined by a married man, she would better cooperate without making a fuss. Otherwise, she doesn’t know what she will do.

Hae-Na asks Mi-Do is she afraid of her life being ruined? She offers to help her ruin it. She jumps off the platform.

At present, Mi-Do is on the way home. She receives a message from Namgung Ho. He wants to come to pick her up. She runs into Sang-Soo who’s dancing on the street. She has watched some videos that he filmed. She thinks his composition lacks aesthetic appeal. He says it’s just his hobby. She mentions he likes to lie. She thinks he’s like his mother. He says everyone thinks he’s like her. He asks her if she was bully when she was in kindergarten.

Young-Do says Mi-Do was once expelled from kindergarten. She would conceal trash into her sleeve. He persuades Namgung Ho not to marry his sister. But Namgung Ho says he would have feelings when he sees Mi-Do. He would miss her when he doesn’t see her.

The next day, Namgung Ho runs into Soo-A at the company. She asks him does he want to know why there was a problem with the sample? In the evening at the bus stop, Mi-Do gets a call from Tae-Seung. She meets him at the nightclub. He persuades her to sign the settlement agreement. She summons the crew members to the nightclub. They have a party. But one of the crew member’s boyfriend comes.

The guy tries to slap Mi-Do at the police station. Because he thinks she led his girlfriend astray. Namgung Ho stops the guy. Namgung Ho and Mi-Do leave the police station. He wants to help her. But she cannot stand his pity. They return home. She offers to break up. She knows he doesn’t love her anyone. He agrees. He leaves her house. She cries. She takes their photos off the wall. She takes off the ring. She throws the ring into the trash can. He throws his ring into trash can as well.

The next day, they contact each other. They confess their feelings. They’re startled. In 2017, Mi-Do sees the note Namgung Ho wrote. She chases him out of the hotel. She sees him at the bus stop. She tries to leave. He stops her. He tells her that they won’t break up. He kisses her.
