Audrey Hall Is A Righteous Beyonder in Lord of Mysteries

Audrey Hall makes a deep impression on me in Lord of Mysteries book 6. When the girl finds out that the justice she’s seeking has a conflict with her family. She feels painful. Klein Moretti persuades her and blesses her. “I wish you to love your family and friends after you saw all true clearly.” Audrey makes the choice related to the blessing at the end of the novel. The plot fits the authentic features of Lord of Mysteries. The truth of Lord of Mysteries reflects in the worldview settings, plot and characters.

It also reflects that every role needs to pay the corresponding costs if she wants to gain. Everyone donation of fate was marked a prize early, even if it’s just the growth of one person. It’s same even if you sticks to a certain philosophy. So the growth of Audrey in Lord of Mysteries and her knowing what’s justice. She pays a price for sticking to the justice.

Although Lord of Mysteries portrays the role Amon well, if you take a look at the roles from the angle of growth. The important roles are Audrey Hall, Alger Wilson and Derrick Berg. Cuttlefish planned to write season 2 when he wrote Lord of Mysteries. So the Audrey we see in season 1 reflects the growth and metamorphosis of her. She leaves comfort zone in the end.

Audrey Hall Has A High Ideal

There’re two lines about Audrey in the novel. The open line is the promotion of her. She was a noble girl who visioned the Beyonders’ power in the beginning. But she became a demigod at the end of the novel. She even became an important member of the Tarot Club. The concealed line is the Audrey’s changing of outlook on life, worldview and values.

She chose the tarot card “Justice” because of her kindness. She wanted to practice and sacrifice for the ideal justice in her heart. Audrey’s growth is comprehensive. Cuttlefish blended the promotion and Audrey’s growth together. Her mind was changed when she was promoted. She was interested in the Beyonder. It’s related to her origins.

Ordinary people usually want to use Beyonder power to protect themselves. They want to change their fate with the chance. But Audrey was born from the Grand Aristocratic Family of Loen Kingdom. What she lacked wasn’t a chance to be a Beyonder. She didn’t want to be controlled by the church and the crown. So she made a deal with Alger in the Tarot Club.

Because she mastered acting method early. It made her to maintain the attitude to Beyonder power. She had the pure expectation and joy. She acted the sequence within the bounds of morality. This is why she consumed Beyonder Characteristics very fast when she was in the period of low sequence.

Even if Audrey focused on the promotion of sequence, but some cases affected her. She wished to get Beyonder power in the beginning. But she didn’t have strong desire to level up. She wanted to get stronger after Duke Negan was killed. The sequence six and the aristocrat Negan was protected by the Church of the Lord of Storms. But he was assassinated by the Twilight Hermit Order. It made her wish to promote her sequence. She wanted to be the last block that protects her parents and family secretly.

From the angle of intellectual maturity, the mind reading ability of Visionary Pathway is the material basis that Audrey became mature from naivety. Because she can perceive the real emotion of others. It made her see the motivation and logic behind the behavior of most people. It caused her to be mature in mind than others. The growth and the kindness nature made her choose the path of righteousness in her heart.

Audrey Hall’s Father Is A Big Problem

Furthermore, Audrey’s family environment is related to her growth. Her family boosts her growth but limits it at the same time. It’s embodied in her father Earl Hall. Earl Hall is different from other nobles in Lord of Mysteries. He’s the representative individual of the new party. He had a vision and he was very progressive. But he wouldn’t betray his aristocracy class. He knew and cared for the lower class. He promoted some policies that help lower class. But his motivation was for maintaining the dominance of aristocracy class.

Hence, the two sides of Earl Hall affected Audrey’s growth. Earl Hall suggested that Audrey should go to work for the charitable foundation. She got the chance to contact the different classes in the real world. She didn’t just do it from the aristocracy perspective. It made her care for the benefits of civilians. She was easy to see the real world clearly.

But Earl Hall rejected when Audrey wished her family to take the lead donating food. Because the cost of charity he could accept is just lacking two dishes each meal. He didn’t want to lose the aristocracy dignity. It means that Audrey needed to break the bondage of her family when she confirmed her beliefs.

Audrey Hall Experiences the Horror of Beyonder World

Audrey expected good things from Beyonder power when she was in low sequence. But she got involved in the vortex when she was in middle sequence. She paid a price for it. For example, she healed Hazel Macht. We know it from Klein that Amon stole the fate and he possessed the victim’s family when they were senseless. It explained the terror of Beyonder World bloody.

Audrey got involved in the Psychology Alchemists and the case of George Augustus III. She had to deal with the demigod sequence four Hvin Rambis. The two cases were stern tests to Audrey. But Audrey was different at that time. She said that she wasn’t naive anymore. She grew up after she helped Klein kill Hvin Rambis. She knew the terrible of Beyonder World after she cured Hazel Macht. She still chose to be a Beyonder. She didn’t give up her extraordinary characterization. She realized that she cannot avoid the harm even if she’s not a Beyonder. She thought she can only stop the killing when she holds sword.
