Zuko is the prince of the Fire Nation. His mother Ursa loves him very much. But she leaves him suddenly in Avatar: The Last Airbender. His father pressures him and he banishes him. Zuko makes the best friend in his life when he hunts Aang. He realizes that Ozai isn’t a good fire lord. So he overthrows his father. He unites with the Avatar and they create a peace era together. He’s a kind ruler and people support him. But he perceives that family is very important to him after the case of Kyoshi Island. He begins the journey to look for his mother.
Ursa is the granddaughter of the previous avatar Roku. She has a boyfriend Ikem. She loves him very much. But Ozai appears with his father Azulon in her village. Azulon forces Ursa to marry his son. Ursa becomes the princess of the Fire Kingdom. She gives birth to the prince Zuko and the princess Azula for Ozai. But she disappears after she was suspected to murder Azulon in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Zuko misses his mother. He wants to find her. But nobody knows her whereabouts except his father.
Ursa’s Leaving
Ursa lives with her parents in Hira’a. They conceal the secret that Ursa is the previous Avatar’s granddaughter. Ursa likes to have fun with the guy Ikem. They always rehearse a play. She has feelings for him because she keeps staying with him. He kisses her when they rehearse the play. She doesn’t resist. She accepts him as her boyfriend.
But Azulon comes with Ozai after he heard Ursa is Roku’s daughter in Avatar: The Last Airbender. He plans to let the innocent girl marry his son so that he will get talented descendants. He doesn’t give Ursa any chance to reject. He takes her into the carriage. Ikem receives the message that someone is going to take away his girlfriend. He chases the carriage. He swears to take back his lover. But he doesn’t know the Fire Lord is going to kill him.
Ursa sees that her boyfriend will be in danger if he continues to be reckless. She promises Azulon that she will marry his son. He forgives Ikem then. Ikem is very sad after he lost his girlfriend. He walks into the Forgetful Valley for a solution. Ursa marries Ozai soon. The prince likes his wife very much. She’s so beautiful and she can bring benefits to him. She invites her parents to her wedding. But her husband asks her to cut ties with her parents.
Zuko and Azula are born. Ursa likes her son very much. Because he’s a kind child. She fears her daughter Azula after she heard her daughter burned all the flowers in the garden. She keeps a distance from the little girl. She focuses on raising Zuko. She doesn’t know what she does will make Azula hate Zuko.
Ozai isn’t the prince Azulon favors even if the fire lord helped his son get a pretty wife. He puts all his hopes in the eldest son Iroh. But Iroh loses his son in the battle when he plans to crush the enemy. He gives up the offense and he comes up with sorrow. He’s devastated. Azulon worries about his son. But his another son Ozai suggests that he should change the heir. The fire lord is angry. He asks Ozai to take Zuko’s life. He wants to let him taste the feelings that losing his son. Ozai doesn’t care for Zuko at all. Because he suspects that the kid is the child of his wife and another man. He agrees to his father’s proposal to kill his son.
Azula eavesdrops on the conversation. She plans to use the chance to get rid of her mother since her mother doesn’t like her. She lets Ursa know that the fire lord wished her son to disappear in the world. Zuko is very important to Ursa. She comes up with an evil scheme for the first time in her life. She tells her husband that she can make a bottle of poison which can kill any person. She asks him to let his father drink it for getting the throne. Ozai is surprised that his wife has such tactics.
But he asks her to leave the Fire Nation after they murdered the fire lord. He threatens her that he will kill her son if she doesn’t do that. She’s sad to say goodbye to Zuko. Zuko doesn’t know what happened. He was tortured by Ozai after his mother left. Azula feels happy that her mother left. But she’s tangled by her mother’s phantom after many years. She always thinks her mother wants to kill her. She describes Ursa as an evil mother. She doesn’t know Ursa regrets for leaving her children.
Ozai Is the Key to Find Zuko’s Mother
Zuko and the Avatar team manage the Fire Nation together after the brutal monarch was overthrown. Zuko wants to be a wise lord. So he invites the professor of the Earth Kingdom to teach him how to be a good ruler. The professor thinks the lord won’t be good if he doesn’t care for his family. Zuko remembers he imprisoned his father and he sent his sister to mental hospital. He thinks he’s a good monarch. He decides to find his mother. But he doesn’t know where his mother went.
Avatar: The Last Airbender indicates that Zuko’s father Ozai knows Ursa’s whereabouts. But Ozai refuses to communicate with her son. Zuko thinks of his sister Azula. He visits her in the hospital and he takes her to see her father. He prepares a cup of tea for her. He asks her to have a talk with Ozai. But she wishes to stay alone with her father. He agrees to it even if Ty Lee thinks they shouldn’t let the bad girl get out of their sight.
Azula meets with her father in the cell. Zuko doesn’t know what the two said. He takes his sister to leave the prison. He insists on escort Azula. But Azula uses her lightning to attack her brother. She flees. He realizes that his father must say something to her. He returns to his palace and he finds her in the room. He notes that she’s holding a letter. He realizes that the letter is the only clue helping him find his mother. But Azula burns the letter. Zuko is nervous and he thinks he lost the hope. Azula is very happy after she played with her brother. She tells him the content of the letter to him. Because she wants to find her mother as well.
Zuko learns that his mother is in Hira’a. He summons the Avatar team. He wishes Aang to help him find his mother. But the members of the Avatar team see Azula. They almost fight the firebender. They think the plan is terrible after knowing Azula will join them. Aang is convinced by Iroh. He decides to help his best friend. The people are going to set out. Katara worries that Azula will bring trouble. Zuko comforts the girl that they can deal with Azula together. She agrees to it. But her brother Sokka provokes the princess. Azula gives the guy a lesson. Sokka realizes that he’s not the airbender’s rival. Zuko reminds his sister that she promised to work with them.
The group is on the way to Hira’a. Aang feels very happy because he can kiss Katara. But Azula mistakes that her mother had a talk with the Avatar team. She scolds the team. It makes Sokka miss Toph Beifong. Because Toph Beifong wouldn’t be crazy. Aang gets a strange look after he saw the wolf spirit. Azula knows they’re going to arrive at the destination. So she flees. Aang witnesses the firebender jumping off the flying bison. He worries that she will hurt. But he fails to stop.
Azula flees to the riverside. She sees Ursa in the water. She takes out the letter. She’s confident because she thinks she can overthrow Zuko. Zuko appears at this time. Azula tries to attack her brother because she thinks she doesn’t need him anymore. But she’s taken down by Katara. The wolf spirit appears. Aang tries to communicate with the spirit. But the spirit attacks him. Zuko releases his sister. Azula drives away the spirit with her lightning.
Ursa Becomes A Woman Zuko Doesn’t Know
Zuko and his sister Azula go to Hira’a to look for their mother in Avatar: The Last Airbender. They and the Avatar team camp in the forest. Zuko doesn’t tie Azula up. But she still has a nightmare. He notes that Sokka put a blanket on Katara. He does the same thing to Azula. But he finds the letter from her. He reads the letter. He’s shocked that he’s not Ozai’s son.
Azula has a fight with Katara because she mistakes the girl for her mother. She wakes up and she finds out that Zuko took away the letter. Zuko meets with Aang. He wishes his friend to help him. But Azula appears for taking back the letter. Azula and Zuko make up after they had a fight. They arrive in Hira’a. They watch the drama together. They’re very happy because they starred the drama before.
Zuko walks into the theater for looking for his mother. The man Noren shows up. He claims that he knows Ursa. He takes Zuko and his friends to his house and he introduces his wife to Zuko. Noren’s daughter Kiyi shows Zuko her doll. But Azula wants to burn it. Zuko scolds his sister. He gets the message that his mother went to the Forgetful Valley. He decides to leave. He says goodbye to Kiyi. Azula feels happy that they can leave the place.
The people go to the Forgetful Valley. They find Mother of Faces. Mother of Faces reveals she helped Ursa change her face. Zuko realizes that Noren’s wife is his mother. He goes to recognize Ursa. But Ursa lost her memories. Aang begs Mother of Faces to help the lady again. Mother of Faces restores Ursa’s face and her memories. Azula wants to hurt her mother. But Zuko stops his sister. Azula runs away from Noren’s house. Zuko asks Ursa about the letter. She reveals the content in the letter is fake. He learns that he’s Ozai’s son.
Zuko finds his mother in the end. He clears the confusion in his mind that if he’s Ozai’s son or not. Azula is changed after she accompanied her brother to look for their mother. But she still doesn’t forgive Ursa for abandoning her and Zuko. Ursa returns to the Fire Nation with her son. She faces her fear Ozai. The man tries to threaten her like he did it to her before. But she knows he’s a coward.
