Aang is the protagonist in Avatar: The Last Airbender. He’s an Avatar when he’s born. He’s very luck to own the strength that others don’t have. But he also has a tragic fate. Aang is childish. He wants to have fun like other kids. But his mission as Avatar doesn’t allow him to do that. He loses his master Gyatso when he escapes from Southern Air Temple. The king of the Fire Nation Sozin takes his army to attack Southern Air Temple because he fears Aang’s strength. Gyatso sacrifices himself for protecting his beloved disciple.
Aang knows nothing about it. He’s caught in a storm. He freezes himself in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Sozin fails to find Aang because the kid fled. Katara and Sokka find Aang when they go fishing. They don’t know Aang is the Avatar. Aang also doesn’t leak his identity. Because he worries that he will be caught to study. Sokka doesn’t like Aang at all. He worries that the stranger is a spy of the Fire Nation. But Katara is interested in Aang’s airbending. She wishes the boy to teach her how to use waterbending.
Aang Freezes Himself
Aang is a kid who’s trained to be the next Avatar. He’s weak because he only masters airbending. He needs to go to study other bending arts. But his master Gyatso doesn’t wish his student to leave him. He has a fight with the elders who plan to send Aang away. Gyatso gives in since he needs to listen to the views of others. They don’t know Sozin is going to attack them.
Sozin is an ambitious king. He plans to rule the world. But Avatar is his obstacle. He and the previous Avatar Roku were good friends. But Roku is dead. Aang became the new Avatar. Sozin wants to get rid of the kid before he gets stronger. He knows the comet is going to be close the Earth. He plans to use the chance to attack Southern Air Temple.
Aang leaves Southern Air Temple when Sozin is massacring the airbenders. He doesn’t know his master and his friends were killed. He rides his sky bison Appa and he’s very happy with his leaving. He doesn’t have to study and he can have fun with his friends. But the storm stops him. He has to freeze himself.
Avatar: The Last Airbender describes Aang as a selfish kid. But he needs to shoulder the fate to protect the world. He’s not qualified but everyone puts the hope in him. It makes him want to flee. Aang lacks responsibility. His behavior causes the deaths of the people in Southern Air Temple. He doesn’t realize his mistake until he encounters Katara and Sokka. But the lost lives cannot be resurrected.
Katara And Sokka Find Aang
Katara and Sokka are the people of Southern Water Tribe. They lost their mother when the soldiers of the Fire Nation attacked the tribe. Their father left the village for fighting Fire Nation. Katara is a waterbender. But she doesn’t know how to use waterbending.
She and Sokka go out. They find Aang from a glacier. They wake the Avatar up together. They know Aang is a airbender after the boy used the airbending. But they don’t know he’s the Avatar. Aang conceals the secret from the friends he just knew. He asks the two to take him to their village. Katara agrees to it because she wants to learn waterbender from the boy. But Sokka suspects Aang because he thinks he comes from an unknown location.
Aang goes to Southern Water Tribe with his friends. He learns that Katara wants to learn waterbender. He suggests she goes to Northern Water Tribe. Because there’re many teachers who can teach her the art. They go to the battle ship of the Fire Nation Army.
Avatar: The Last Airbender lets Aang know that the people of Southern Air Temple were murdered. But he still doesn’t believe it. He has many friends in the Fire Nation. He thinks they wouldn’t do that. Katara and Sokka aren’t naive like Aang. Because they suffered when the Fire Nation attacked the tribe. Katara wants to learn waterbending fast so that she can protect her tribe.
They don’t know the prince of the Fire Nation Zuko is targeting Aang. Zuko was banished by his father Ozai after Zuko made a mistake. Zuko knows he needs to do something big so that his father will forgive him. He knows his father wants to arrest the Avatar. He plans to resolve the crisis for his father. He hears Avatar is in Antarctica. So he drives the ship to Antarctica with his uncle Iroh. He decides to arrest Aang once he finds him. But he doesn’t know his whereabouts.
Zuko Comes to Arrest Aang
Aang and Katara have fun in Southern Water Tribe. Katara finds out that she likes to stay with the boy. She doesn’t know she will marry him one day in Avatar: The Last Airbender. She takes him to the wreckage of the Fire Nation’s ship. Aang hits the trigger on the ship. It sends a signal to Zuko.
Zuko doesn’t know Aang’s location. But he sees the signal. He learns that Aang is in Southern Water Tribe. He mistakes him for an old man. He asks the soldiers to go to attack the tribe. The village head and Sokka are told that the army of the Fire Nation is going to come. They drive Aang out of the village because they think he’s the culprit. Katara doesn’t wish Aang to leave. But she has to give in because everyone in the village wishes the boy to leave.
Sokka faces Zuko alone after Aang left. Because he’s the only man in the village. But he’s not the guy’s rival because Zuko was trained by his father before. But Sokka still manages to hurt Zuko’s face. Aang comes back because he worried about his friends. He uses the airbending to fight Zuko.
Zuko reveals Aang is the Avatar. Sokka and Katara are surprised. They have looked for the Avatar. They don’t expect that the boy is their savior. The village head welcomes Aang as well. She knows only the boy can save the village. Aang surrenders because he worries that Zuko will hurt the villagers.
Zuko takes Aang away. He’s happy with it because he knows his father will praise him for doing it. Sokka and Katara are moved after knowing their friend sacrificed himself for saving them. They decide to go to save Aang. The village head supports their decision.
Zuko knows nothing about the Avatar even if he managed to catch him. Aang stuns the guards and he goes to look for his weapon. Zuko conceals Aang’s weapon in his room. He’s waiting for the boy when Aang sneaks into his room. The two have a fight.

Sokka and Katara come to save Aang when the boy falls into a hard battle. The three flee in Appa’s help. Zuko tries to cast the fireball to Aang. But Aang manages to block the fireball. He ruins Zuko’s ship. Zuko goes to the harbor to fix his ship. He worries that Admiral Zhao will know he found the Avatar. He asks the soldiers not to leak it. But the general is very sly. He knows the secret after he tortures the soldiers of Zuko.
