Maehara walks into the classroom in I Made Friends with The Second Prettiest Girl in My Class episode 3. Amami says good morning to him. She thinks the weather is very nice today. But he doesn’t give her a good reaction. It promotes her to think that he’s too formal. Nitta joins Amami. She doesn’t know who Maehara is. Amami asks Nitta if she forgets Maehara’s name. Nitta denies it. Amami tells the girl that she and Maehara made up. They became friends. The classmate guesses Amami was caught red-handed.

Nitta asks Amami what happened after she abandoned her yesterday. Amami says that it’s a secret. It makes Nitta mind it more. Maehara receives a message from Asanagi. She apologizes to him that Amami brought trouble to him. He sees her.
Outside the school building, Amami is excited after she saw the stone table and stone chairs. She’s surprised that there’s nobody there. Asanagi is happy as well. She mentions the place gets plenty of sunshine and benches. Maehara wipes the table. He doesn’t expect that he will have lunch with the two girls.
It flashes back. In the classroom, Amami holds the lunch box. She invites Maehara to have lunch with her. Asanagi is anxious to stop her friend. She reminds her that it’s not a good idea. Amami mentions Maehara didn’t want to be with a large crowd. She thinks it’s better that she’s with him. Asanagi doesn’t go against it. But she wants to know what Maehara thinks. He admits that it will make him nervous. She tells Amami that the boy said so as well. Amami comes up with an idea that Asanagi should join them.
Asanagi and Maehara are shocked after they heard the girl’s words. Amami mentions Asanagi was with Maehara as well yesterday. She asks Maehara if it’s fine. He agrees to eat with Amami and Asanagi.
At present, Maehara knows he will draw stares from others if he’s with Amami and Asanagi. So he recommended the Dining Area for the Marginalized to them. Amami learns that Maehara can Make desserts. She asks him what is the best dessert he made. He guesses it’s the Souffle Pancake. She passes out. She thought she can challenge the dessert. But she failed. Asanagi asks Amami to hang in there. She tells her that there’s still hope.
Maehara comforts the girl that it’s not hard. She can do it with the videos online. She wants to eat it very much. He promises her that he will make it for her. She’s excited after she heard the good news. She wants to go to his house. He agrees. She grabs his hands. She tells him that she expects it very much. She wants to take Asanagi.
Amami goes to buy drinks. Maehara knows she’s a good person. He thought she was very cheerful. Asanagi tells him that Amami is like a dog. He laughs. She asks him if someone badmouthed him. She tells him that Amami doesn’t care about what others think. He says that he’s an outcast. Nobody spoke to him directly. She asks him to tell it to her if he’s bullied. He thinks nothing will happen. But she doesn’t think so. After all, the girl is the cutest Amami. He says that it’s just a joke that those guys in the class played. But she thinks it’s spot on. At Maehara’s house, Maehara places the Souffle Pancakes on the table. Amami thanks him. She begins to eat the pancake. She praises him. She failed even if she followed the recipe to make. Asanagi teases Amami. She’s very laid-back no matter what she makes. Amami talks back that Asanagi made a piece of charcoal on last Valentine’s Day. Asanagi claims that it was a cookie. She explains it to Maehara that she and Amami just exchanged friendship chocolates. Amami puts her arm around Asanagi’s waist. She tells Maehara that it was fun.
He realizes that the two were in girls’ school. Orange Girls is the best elite school in the area. The school offers high school programs. He wonders why they came to the school.
The three play the video game together. Maehara notices that Amami is really strong. He asks her if it’s the first time that she plays the game. She says yes. She doesn’t understand why she can get the hand of it. She uses the art to defeat Asanagi. She teaches Maehara how to launch it.
In the evening, Amami and Asanagi leave Maehara’s house. Amami wants to buy Maehara a meal as a return gift. Asanagi claims that she won’t go with Amami. She thinks Amami will be fine even if she’s not there. She guesses she becomes close with the boy. Amami calls Maehara. She asks him if he’s free on Friday. She hands up. She tells Asanagi that the boy has plans with someone. Asanagi runs away. She says that she left her cell phone in Maehara’s house. Asanagi runs to Maehara’s house. She pinches his nose. She tells him that she will see him tomorrow. She runs away.
The next day at Maehara’s house, Asanagi tells Maehara that the comic book he lent to her was very good. He saw that the last chapter released early. He asks her if she wants to read it. She’s shocked. She blames him for not telling it to her early. She asks him to lend it to her. He agrees. But he doesn’t read it. She offers to read it together. She follows him into the room.
The two read the comic book together. They’re moved when they see the lead roles having a kiss. Asanagi feels relieved that it’s a happy ending. She wants to read it from the beginning. She asks Maehara where is the chapter one.
He finishes the comic book. He decides to make a cup of coffee. He asks her if she needs a cup of coffee as well. But he finds out that she falls asleep in his bed. He falls asleep as well.
Masaki asks her son to get up. She learns that the girl is Asanagi after Maehara spoke out her name. She asks him to explain it. She talks with Asanagi’s mother over the phone. She tells Asanagi that she has gotten the permission from her mother. It’s too late. She asks her to sleep at their house. She persuades her to go to take a shower. Her pajamas is outside. Asanagi thanks the aunt. She runs away.
Maehara tries to flee. But his mother grabs his head. She says that she smelled a scent of air freshener when she came back. She asks him when he took Asanagi home. He confesses it to her that it was two months ago when the girl came to his house to have fun. But the girl is just a friend. He didn’t do something that would make his mother worry. She trusts him. But Asanagi is a girl. She asks him to be careful. He says that he will go to apologize tomorrow.
Asanagi enters Maehara’s room after she took a shower. She tells Maehara that his mother’s clothes don’t fit properly. So she borrowed his tracksuit. He decides to go to sleep in the living room. He leaves the bed for her. But she grabs his collar. She stops him. She says that she’s very clear-headed after she took a shower. She wants to have a talk with him.
She brings up that he took the cute girl home. She thinks he’s a bad man. He points out that he did it because she fell asleep. He admits that he made a mistake to follow her to fall asleep. She says that she was wrong. Because she was completely caught off guard. They’re bad kids. He plans to confess to Amami their relationship. She’s thinking about it as well. She promises him that she will tell it to Amami. She asks him to go about his usual routine. She says good night to him before he goes to sleep. Maehara sleeps on the couch in the living room. The next day, Asanagi takes Maehara to her house. She rings the doorbell. Her mother Sora opens the door. She welcomes Asanagi and Maehara. Maehara bows to the madam. He introduces himself to her. She laughs. She thinks he’s too polite. She says that she’s the mother of the bad daughter.
In the house, Sora tells Asanagi that it’s not true that she doesn’t allow her to have fun with the boy. But she shouldn’t let her worry about it. Asanagi promises her mother that she will be careful next time. Maehara says that he will be careful as well. Sora asks him how he became close with her daughter. She mentions Asanagi told her that it wasn’t her business when she wanted to know it.
She says that it’s the first time that her daughter took a boyfriend home. So she wants to know how they knew each other. Asanagi asks Maehara to ignore the aunt. She asks him to eat the peach. Sora teases her daughter that she’s so clumsy with her hands. But she peels it for the boy. She thinks she’s very thoughtful. She asks Maehara to take care of her daughter. She says that Asanagi is a good kid. He promises her. She catches the chance to invite him to live at their house. So she can watch them. Asanagi is furious to ask Maehara to seal her mother’s mouth. Sora asks the boy to save her when she leans against him. She says that her daughter is terrifying.
