In the evening, Chen Yi climbs into Miao Jing’s room in Love for You episode 2. He steps on her desk. She has to clean it. She complains it to him that the door isn’t locked. He claims that it’s his home. It’s not her business that which path he took. He discovers that she has taken his bed. She mentions what he said that he didn’t want to live with her.
Chen Yi throws Miao Jing’s schoolbag out of the window. He tells her that he learned it from her. She asks him not to regret it. She thinks he’s childish after he left.
The next day, Miao Jing returns home. She sees Uncle Chen whipping Chen Yi. She cooks a bowl of porridge for Chen Yi. She feeds him the porridge. He thought she was afraid of him. She says that whether she’s afraid or not is one thing, but she must save him. He tells her that he won’t bully her. He asks her about what happened today. She says that she didn’t see anything. She gives him a lollipop.
In 2002, Miao Jing graduates. Chen Yi and his friends walk on the street. Miao Jing’s mother drinks with Mr. Li and some guys at the restaurant. In the evening, Mr. Li drives Miao Jing’s mother home. He gives her a present.
Miao Jing’s mother takes Miao Jing to the store to buy rings. She tells the salesgirl that her daughter is in a top high school. Miao Jing is 16 years old. Today is her birthday. Chen Yi tries to reject it. But he notices the man is tangling Miao Jing. He grabs a steel pipe. He follows the man.
The man asks Miao Jing if she gets seasick. He touches her. Chen Yi takes Miao Jing to leave the party when his friends are smashing things. Miao Jing sees her mother taking the boat to flee. She calls her mother. Chen Yi takes Miao Jing to ride the motorboat. He asks her to hug him tightly. He drives the motorboat at sea.
Miao Jing and Chen Yi sit on the beach. Miao Jing receives a message from her mother. She ignores the message. He suggests that she should call her mother. She rejects it. She thinks her mother doesn’t care for her. She thanks him. She thinks the man would sleep with her if it wasn’t him. But he points out that she would bite off the man’s arm. The man would buy him a meal. She nods and she laughs. He takes off his coat. He gives the coat to her. She uses the coat to dry her hair.
Chen Yi takes Miao Jing home. He persuades her to go to take a hot bath. She returns the coat to him. She says that she doesn’t want to go home. It’s too noisy at home. She’s hungry. She asks him to pick a place.
They eat barbecue at a restaurant. They walk along the street. The stall owner is selling fruit. Miao Jing tells Chen Yi that the barbecue was too salty. She wants to eat some fruit. He buys her a piece of pineapple. She tells him that the pineapple is very sweet. She invites him to eat it. He asks her to eat it on her own. He reminds her that it’s midnight. So she should go home. But she wants to go to drink Kelp and Mung Bean Soup. He asks her to go home to sleep. She says that she cannot sleep if she doesn’t enjoy the soup.
Miao Jing returns home. Wei Mingzhen blames Uncle Chen for reading when she lost her daughter. He asks her about the man who was with her. She tells him that it’s not his business. Because she didn’t marry him. He reminds her that he’s the one who has taken care of the burden. He refuses to wear a green hat. If she doesn’t want to live with him, she can get lost with the burden. She mentions he begged her to bring her daughter there. He said that his wife was dead, and he was afraid.
It flashes back. Miao Jing’s aunt gives the clothes to Miao Jing. But Miao Jing knows the clothes were worn by her cousin. Her aunt scolds her. She thinks she’s like her mother who’s never satisfied. Wei Mingzhen shows up. She tells Miao Jing that they’re going to go to their own home.
At present, Chen Yi takes Miao Jing to the roof. They drink the soup together. He asks her if she’s fine. She says that she’s fine. He thinks her mother’s acting skills are better than her. She looks fine. Chen Yi tells Miao Jing that she should cry if she feels wronged. But she must remember why she cries. She shouldn’t act like she doesn’t care after two days. He tells her that she shouldn’t dream that her mother will feel guilty. She says that she doesn’t do that.

He tells her that he wouldn’t say something like that. He asks her if she thought about future. She mentions everyone studies and takes exam. She doesn’t know where she can go if her mother breaks up with Uncle Chen. She doesn’t have any future. He reveals he plans to apply to a police school. He tells her that she shouldn’t rely her future on someone else. She should rely on herself if she wants to live like a human. She receives his order. He tells her that he will lead her to take a different path home. Downstairs, Chen Yi takes Miao Jing to climb into her room. He doesn’t expect that she got talent. He leaves.
The next day at the school, Chen Yi breaks the running record. Miao Jing chooses a school for Chen Yi in the classroom. She hands over the papers to Chen Yi on the track. The girl stops Miao Jing. Uncle Chen gives the money to Miao Jing. He gets in the house. He finds out that Chen Yi fled. Chen Yi runs to the school. But the teachers Old Lin and Mr. Kang has left. Da Yong apologizes to Chen Yi. He failed to stop the two teachers. Bo blames Da Yong. He doesn’t know Da Yong has tried his best. Mr. Kang wanted to help Chen Yi. He thought the boy would be a good cop. But Old Lin wanted to follow the rule.
Chen Yi returns home when Uncle Chen prepares the dishes. Uncle Chen, Chen Libin asks Chen Yi to wash his hands and have meal. Chen Yi discovers that his father touched his schoolbag. He blames him. Chen Libin asks Chen Yi if he planned to apply to the police school. So he will stay away from him. He will go to look for his biological father then.
Chen Yi tells Chen Libin that the only one who can control him is his mother. But his mother is dead. The family isn’t related to him. Chen Libin takes off his apron. He complains it to Chen Yi that he has raised him as his biological son. He asks him to go to Power Supply Bureau after he graduates. He begged a lot of people to get the job for him. But he said something like that to him.
Chen Yi laughs. He mentions Chen Libin knows he’s afraid of power. But he asks him to go to Power Supply Bureau. He cannot prove himself. So he slanders him and his mother. Now he wants to ruin him. Chen Yi asks Chen Libin when he will forgive him. He asks him if it’s not enough to change his exam application. He asks him if he wants to do it again.

The driver complains that selling supplements can earn big money. Miao Jing remembers Mr. Li asked her mother to conceal the ledger. She asks the driver if the people of Green Lai will be caught. He mentions the company tricked many clients. So they will be caught. He heard that someone lost the tuition of her daughter.
Miao Jing arrives at the hospital. She asks her mother what happened. Wei Mingzhen tells Miao Jing that Chen Libin had a brain hemorrhage. He doesn’t wake up until now. Chen Yi had a fight with his father. He wanted to cut ties with his father. Chen Libin got angry. He went to drink. He came back. The power went out in the hallway. He tripped. The head hit the floor. He passed out, and he was sent to ICU.
Wei Mingzhen complains it to Miao Jing that she needs to pay 3,000 yuan per day to let Chen Libin live in the hospital. She cannot afford it. She called Chen Yi. But the guy didn’t come. Miao Jing asks her mother to go home. She volunteers to watch Chen Libin.
