Cheng Shaoshang thanks Luo Jitong for helping her. She wonders why Fifth Princess is so bossy. Luo Jitong tells Cheng Shaoshang not to talk about Fifth Princess because she worries that she will bring trouble to her family. Cheng Shaoshang tells Luo Jitong that she won’t come to the palace in the future.
Luo Jitong takes Cheng Shaoshang to the banquet. Wang Ling thinks Cheng Shaoshang sits the last seat because she has a low status. Cheng Shaoshang talks back that the seat belonged to Wang Ling if she didn’t come. Wang Ling blames Cheng Shaoshang for mocking her.

Third Princess thinks Wang Ling made Empress Xuan lose face. Fifth Princess talks back that Third Princess left her husband in the palace because she knew Ling Buyi will come. Fifth Princess sees Cheng Shaoshang eating. She scolds her and thinks she’s very rude.
Wang Ling leaks that Cheng Shaoshang wasn’t taught by her parents. She thinks the girl was hungry to see emperor. Fifth Princess learns why Cheng Shaoshang stole the cake at the Palace Banquet. Cheng Shaoshang explains that what she eats is called bread. She adds that the bread is eaten by countrymen. She thinks Fifth Princess didn’t see it because she lives in the palace.
Cheng Shaoshang leaves the Palace Banquet. She tries to change her shoes. But the maid throws away her shoe and pushes her after she broke the jars. Ling Buyi catches Cheng Shaoshang because she falls to the fragments. He puts her down and blames the princess for what they did to Cheng Shaoshang.
Ling Buyi picks up the shoe. He wears it for Cheng Shaoshang. He holds her hand and steps on the fragment when he walks to Fifth Princess. He congratulates her on a good husband. He tries to leave. But Cheng Shaoshang stops him. She picks up the bread in front of Fifth Princess. She blows it and walks away with Ling Buyi.
Luo Jitong sees Cheng Shaoshang and Ling Buyi off. The maid sees that the two are close. Luo Jitong tells the maid not to care for it. She asks her to prepare the wine. But the maid points out that Empress Xuan intends to marry Luo Jitong to Ling Buyi. Luo Jitong scolds the maid.
Ling Buyi grabs Cheng Shaoshang’s arm. She tries to take off his hand. He reminds her that the people will make fun of them if she does it. He lets her sit next to him. Third Prince mentions Crown Prince let Cheng Shaoshang sit next to him. He thinks he’s a good person.
Crown Prince tells Third Prince not to be strict because it’s a family banquet. Third Prince disagrees to what Crown Prince said. He thinks Crown Prince cannot manage a nation well if he cannot manage a family well. Cheng Shaoshang tells her name to Fifth Prince. He learns that she’s the one who broke off marriage with Lou family.
Fifth Prince finds out that Cheng Shaoshang is very beautiful. He thinks she will be his family if she marries him. He adds that it doesn’t break the rule. Ling Buyi tells Fifth Prince not to think off Cheng Shaoshang. He leaks that the beauty has an engagement.
Fifth Prince tells Ling Buyi not to fool him. He mentions everyone knows the engagement case. Ling Buyi agrees to what Fifth Prince said. He leaks that he plans to get married with the beauty. Cheng Shaoshang coughs. She tells Ling Buyi not to ruin his marriage for helping her.
Does Cheng Shaoshang Accept Ling Buyi’s Proposal?
Cheng Shi shows up with Emperor Wen. He wonders why Cheng Shaoshang sits with Crown Prince. She’s embarrassed. Ling Buyi gets on knees to Emperor Wen. He asks him to take the duty of his elder, making a proposal to Cheng Shaoshang. Emperor Wen feels happy. He asks Cheng Shi what he thinks. Wan Songbai thinks it’s a good marriage. He tells Cheng Shi to agree to it.
Xiao Yuanyi stops her husband before he agrees to it. He asks Emperor Wen to take back his order. She tells him that her daughter isn’t match for Ling Buyi. She leaks that Cheng Shaoshang is a bad girl. She worries that she will bring trouble to Cheng family after she marries Ling Buyi.
Emperor Wen asks Cheng Shaoshang if she’s the bad girl her parents mentioned. She tells him that she agrees to what her mom said. She thinks she’s not match for Ling Buyi. Cheng Shi tells Emperor to take back his order. Third Prince doesn’t expect that Xiao Yuanyi belittled her daughter for making her not marry Ling Buyi.
Third Prince wonders if Ling Buyi is scary. Crown Prince stops Third Prince. He tells Cheng Shi to think about it because it’s related to the reputation of royal family. Fifth Prince asks Cheng Shaoshang to marry him because she’s match for him. Emperor Wen scolds Fifth Prince.
Emperor Wen blames Cheng Shi for rejecting him. He reminds him that he will get his families involved. He tells him to answer him after he thinks about it. Cheng Shi tells Emperor Wen that he will resign if he forces him. Emperor Wen is furious to summon the bodyguards. Empress Xuan stops him.
Cheng Shaoshang asks Ling Buyi if he still wants to marry her since she won’t obey him. He admits it and tells her that she’s the best woman in the capital. He claims that he won’t marry other women. Emperor Wen praises Ling Buyi. He asks Cheng Shaoshang what she thinks.
Cheng Shaoshang takes a look at her parents. Emperor Wen tells Cheng Shaoshang not to look at Xiao Yuanyi and Cheng Shi. He tells her to confess her feelings. She tells Ling Buyi that she wants to marry him. Emperor Wen laughs. He tells Xiao Yuanyi and Cheng Shi that he will punish them if they’re against it. Eunuch reports to Emperor Wen that Princess Yuchang passed out after she heard Ling Buyi is engaged. Emperor Wen laughs. He thinks Princess Yuchang is drunk.
Xiao Yuanyi returns home with Cheng Shaoshang. She tells her to get on knees to her. Cheng Shaoshang gets on knees. Xiao Yuanyi tells Cheng Shi to take a look at his daughter. He comforts her and explains that Cheng Shaoshang was startled.
Xiao Yuanyi points out that Cheng Shaoshang agreed to the marriage in front the people. She adds that she didn’t fear Emperor Wen. Cheng Shaoshang asks Xiao Yuanyi if she wants her to be against Emperor Wen. Xiao Yuanyi scolds Cheng Shaoshang.
Cheng Shi tells Cheng Shaoshang not to break Xiao Yuanyi’s heart. He mentions they rejected the marriage because she told them that she doesn’t have feelings for Ling Buyi. He asks her why she changed her mind. Cheng Shaoshang asks Xiao Yuanyi if she’s not satisfied with her or Ling Buyi.
Cheng Shi tells Cheng Shaoshang that she wronged Xiao Yuanyi. He mentions Huo Junhua and Ling family. She asks him what happened to Ling Buyi’s parents. Xiao Yuanyi thinks Cheng Shaoshang deserves to suffer since she agreed to marry Ling Buyi when she doesn’t know his parents. Cheng Shaoshang doesn’t want to know Ling Buyi’s family since the one she wants to marry is Ling Buyi. Cheng Shi explains that Xiao Yuanyi didn’t leak it because it’s a long story.
Why Marquis Chengyang Got Married with Madam Chunyu?
Cheng Shi tells Cheng Shaoshang that General Huo stopped Emperor Li’s army with a single city when Emperor was in danger. He adds that Huo families were killed when the city was broken. Madam Huo and Ling Buyi disappeared. Marquis Chengyang got married with his younger female cousin. But Madam Huo took Ling Buyi to come back after the two got married for two years.
Cheng Shaoshang thinks the chancellors at the court care for martyr’s families. She wonders why they didn’t ask Marquis Chengyang to get a divorce with Madam Chunyu. She thinks Huo family’s credits are more than Lou family. Cheng Shi tells Cheng Shaoshang that Madam Chunyu couldn’t be divorced because she’s close to Princess Ruyang. Cheng Shaoshang thinks she heard the name before. She realizes that Princess Ruyang is Princess Yuchang’s grandmother.
Madam Chunyu brings the gold Statue of Buddha to Princess Ruyang. She tells her that it will help her drive the evil spirits. Princess Ruyang thinks Madam Chunyu didn’t have to bring the expensive gift to her. Madam Chunyu thinks she couldn’t live in the house without Princess Ruyang’s help.
Princess Ruyang thinks it was because of Huo Junhua. She mentions Madam Chunyu took care of her and saved her life. Madam Chunyu thinks she hurt Huo Junhua. Princess Ruyang thinks Marquis Chengyang did nothing wrong to marry Madam Chunyu. Because everyone thought Huo Junhua was dead. Princess Ruyang thinks Huo Junhua lost chastity on the way.
Princess Ruyang mentions Huo Junhua disagreed when Madam Chunyu offered to share husband. She adds that Huo Junhua kept saying that she will beat Madam Chunyu. She thinks Madam Chunyu lost the baby because she was scared. She complains that Huo Junhua pretended to be mad to instigate the relationship of Madam Chunyu and Ling Buyi. Princess Ruyang tells Madam Chunyu that she will let Princess Yuchang persuade Ling Buyi once she marries him.
Why Xiao Yuanyi Belittles Cheng Shaoshang?
Princess Yuchang cries to tell Princess Ruyang that the people of the whole city mock her. She asks her to help her. She complains to her that Ling Buyi asked Cheng Shaoshang for marriage. She wonders why Cheng Shaoshang is better than her.
Madam Chunyu comforts Princess Yuchang that she and her husband don’t like Cheng Shaoshang. She thinks the marriage won’t be achieved. She promises to let Ling Yi have a talk with Ling Buyi. Princess Ruyang tells Princess Yuchang to get up. She hugs her to comfort her. She thinks she’s wronged.
Chang Shi tells Chang Shaoshang that he and Xiao Yuanyi rejected the marriage because they think Ling Buyi’s family is complicated. He tells her that they did it for her. Xiao Yuanyi tells Chang Shaoshang that she worries that Ling Buyi and her cannot get married because they’re stubborn.
Xiao Yuanyi thinks the two won’t give in when they have a fight. She reminds Chang Shaoshang that she and Cheng Shi cannot protect her. Cheng Shaoshang tells Cheng Shi that she knew Ling Buyi isn’t easy to get along with. She thinks she has no other choice.
Cheng Shi nods. Cheng Shaoshang mentions Xiao Yuanyi belittled her in front of all of the people. She asks Xiao Yuanyi and Cheng Shi if they noted that the ladies who looked down on her got angry. She tells her that she wants to be noble as well.
Cheng Shaoshang asks Xiao Yuanyi if she would humiliate her if she was Cheng Yang. Xiao Yuanyi points out that Cheng Yang wouldn’t make her worry about her. Cheng Shi wonders why the two women mentioned Cheng Yang. He tells Cheng Shaoshang that Xiao Yuanyi didn’t intend to belittle her. He explains that Xiao Yuanyi couldn’t convince Emperor Wen if she didn’t say so.

Cheng Shaoshang tells Xiao Yuanyi that she doesn’t want Cheng Shi to lose the position which he got through giving up her. She kneels and worships them. She tells them that she won’t regret because the marriage was decided by her. She claims that she won’t get Cheng family involved.
