Ji-Ung doesn’t answer Chae-Ran the question. He continues to look for Yeon-Su. Yeon-Su bumps him when he walks. He’s frozen when he stares at her. He releases his hand after he found out that he hugged her. Because he planned to stay away from her after he found out he fell for his best friend’s girlfriend.
Yeon-Su cannot sleep so that she turns on the light and organizes books. Choi Ung cannot sleep as well. He goes to draw. Eun-Ho finds out that Choi Ung is sick. Yeon-Ok takes care of Choi Ung. The colleague wakes Yeon-Su and finds out that she’s uncomfortable during the meeting.
Yeon-Su goes to the rooftop. She gets a call from Sol-Yi who asks her to taste her new dish. But Yeon-Su rejects it because she’s not in the mood. She tells her to give the task to Eun-Ho. But she’s told that the guy is eating at her restaurant. He’s free because Choi Ung takes a break.
Choi Ung has a nightmare that he cries on the street. He wakes up from the nightmare. He goes to living room and finds Yeon-Ok. He joins her and leans his head on her knees when she takes care of his girl. She takes a look at his drawing, thinking he grows up. She tells him not to take the duty alone. But he tells her that he’s fine.

Tae-Hun reports to Dong-Il that Ji-Ung and Chae-Ran had a talk alone after the filming. Ji-Ung gets a message from Chae-Ran who tells him that she bought him a meal. He tries to text Yeon-Su and ask her if she ate. But he gives up the mind because he knows she doesn’t have feelings for him.
Yeon-Ok returns to her restaurant. She tells Choi Ho that she worries about Choi Ung after finding out he’s lonely. He comforts her that their son will be fine. Sol-Yi notes that Yeon-Su keeps stabbing her dish. She thinks her friend slept with Choi Ung. But Yeon-Su denies it.
Our Beloved Summer: Episode 9 Ending
Chae-Ran sees Yeon-Su’s footage in Ji-Ung’s studio. She invites him to have dinner with her. He agrees to it but he notes that she stares at him before he eats. She asks him if he has feelings for Yeon-Su. He admits it and tells her not to spend too much time on him.
Ji-Ung asks Chae-Ran if he’s a bad person since he loves his best friend’s girlfriend. She points out that it’s nothing wrong to love a girl. He laughs and promises not to interfere with work. Yeon-Su tries to order chicken. But she notes that there’s a message from Choi Ung’s photo.
Yeon-Su takes a look at the message. She learns that Choi Ung has an interview. Choi Ung walks out of the bathroom. He finds out Yeon-Su is missing. He mistakes that she left. Ji-Ung sits on the bench at the bus stop. He sighs that he doesn’t want to go home.
Yeon-Su is looking at Choi Ung’s drawings. He’s furious to take away the drawings from her. He tells her that she cannot touch his drawings even if she’s his friend. But she asks him why he kissed her since he treats her as his friend.
