The Haunted Palace: Episode 4 Recap

The Haunted Palace is the latest K-drama about a dragon Gangcheori and a shaman Yeo-Ri. Yeo-Ri explores the palace for looking for her boyfriend Yoon Gab. Gangcheori needs the shaman to help him be an immortal. So he joins the palace as well. They don’t know there’s a scary monster who is waiting for them. Gangcheori and Yeo-Ri heal the prince Yi Gwang in The Haunted Palace Episode 3. But the king Yi Sung mistook that the two hurt his son. He carries a big blade and he tries to cut Gangcheori in episode 4.

The Haunted Palace Episode 4

Gangcheori and Yeo-Ri realize that the monster eight-foot-tall ghost is a problem after the monster ate Yoon Gab’s soul. They work together and they defeat the monster in The Haunted Palace: Episode 4. But the king isn’t happy with what they did. He drives them out of the palace. Yeo-Ri doesn’t give up. She knows the monk Ga-Seop hid her grandma’s magical item. She goes to look for the monk with Gangcheori. She knows the dragon has protected her when they’re on the way to the mountain the monk stays.

Gangcheori And Yeo-Ri Defeat Eight-Foot-Tall Ghost

Palace is a place where queen and king live. But the eight-foot-tall ghost is interested in the place. He possesses the prince and he has an evil plan. Yeo-Ri wants to get rid of the monster for the king. The stalker Gangcheori joins her. But there’s an accident during the process. The eight-foot-tall ghost possesses the king when he flees. The couple has to face the possessed king. They manage to defeat the monster in The Haunted Palace episode 4. The king is saved. But he doesn’t thank the two. He begins to suspect Gangcheori’s identity because he saw the dragon scale from Yoon Gab’s neck when Gangcheori used the lightning. Fortunately, the prince explains it to his father that the man just saved him. The king is very happy after his son was saved. He doesn’t thank Gangcheori. But he forgives him and Yeo-Ri.

Gangcheori was hurt when he fought the monster. Yeo-Ri takes care of the dragon. She takes out the herb she pick from the forest. She planned to use it on Yoon Gab. But she uses it on the dragon for healing him. He feels good when she treats him. He persuades her to leave the palace because he knows the eight-foot-tall ghost isn’t dead. He worries that the monster will come back to deal with her since she’s the shaman who can fight the monster. But she wants to find Yoon Gab’s soul. Because the guy helped her a lot when she was in the village.

Yeo-Ri knows she cannot defeat the eight-foot-tall ghost alone if he comes back. She decides to give Gangcheori some benefits. She tempts the dragon that she will serve him as her God if he helps her get rid of the ghost. The dragon gets angry. Because the girl gave in for a human. But he agrees to her plan since his goal is to ascend. She prepares some pumpkin sugar for him. He likes the sugar very much.

The eight-foot-tall was defeated by Gangcheori and Yeo-Ri. He was hurt. Queen Dowager visits Pung-San after he failed to hurt the prince. He explains it to her that some powerful people protected the prince. He offers to summon the ghost. But she doesn’t wish to do that. Because she fears the ghost. She gives him the clothes of Prince Yeongin. She asks the guy to bless her son. But he burns the clothes by mistake after she left. He thinks the woman is too soft.

The king realizes that he was controlled by the ghost because he doesn’t remember what happened when he fought Gangcheori. He knows Gangcheori isn’t Yoon Gab. Because the officer was murdered by Sang-Chung. He lets Gangcheori and the shaman stay in the palace as long as they don’t bring trouble. But he’s told that the shaman performed a ceremony in the mountain.

Yeo-Ri is living with Gangcheori. She wants to pay Yoon Gab’s mother Young-Geum the rent. But the madam thinks Yeo-Ri doesn’t have to do it. Because she has gotten a pair of glasses from the girl. She goes to cook for Yeo-Ri and Gangcheori. The bodyguards show up. They arrest Yeo-Ri and Gangcheori. The two are taken to see the king. The king gets angry after knowing Yeo-Ri crossed the line. Yeo-Ri is confused because she doesn’t remember she performed any ceremony after she saved the prince. Gangcheori is proud of it. Because the one who did it was him. He didn’t wish Yeo-Ri to stay in the palace so he came up with the idea. Yeo-Ri and the king were fooled by him.

Gangcheori And Yeo-Ri Leave the Palace

The king cannot make the decision because he knows he needs Yeo-Ri if he wants to protect his son. But he released the rule that he doesn’t allow any ceremony. Gangcheori is very happy when he sees the king suffering. He believes that the ruler will keep Yeo-Ri for protecting the prince. But the king chooses to drive the two out of the palace for the rule. Yeo-Ri reminds him that he needs to wear the glasses if he wants to protect himself.

The bodyguard Jae-Il takes the two out of the palace. He gives some money to Gangcheori. Gangcheori offers to go to travel. But Yeo-Ri wants to go to look for Ga-Seop. Because she knows the monk is holding her grandma’s magical weapon. The two walk into the forest. Gangcheori disappears when Yeo-Ri walks forward. She encounters a tiger. Gangcheori saves her with his lightning before she was eaten by the tiger. She learns that he saved her many times before.

The Haunted Palace Episode 4 reveals Gangcheori is hungry. Yeo-Ri promised to take care of the dragon. But she gives some sugars to him. He takes out one sugar from the bag. He puts other sugars aside. He enjoys the sugar. But other sugars are stolen by someone. He gets angry after he discovered that his sugars are missing. He manages to find the thief Monk Noh. He tries to take away the sugars from the guy. But Ga-Seop appears. He attacks Gangcheori. He finds out that he’s not a human. He stuns him when Gangcheori worries that Monk Noh will eat his sugars. Yeo-Ri shows up. She explains the misunderstanding. Ga-Seop feels guilty because his master Monk Noh actually stole the sugars. But he refuses to return it to Gangcheori. He agrees to help Yeo-Ri go to take her grandma’s magical weapon after knowing her goal.

Yeo-Ri is in a bad situation. Because she and Gangcheori were kicked out of the palace. She lost her magical weapon. She knew the eight-foot-tall ghost will come back. She cannot fight the ghost without any weapon. She remembered her grandma had a weapon. So she decided to go to look for Ga-Seop. She found the monk in the end. She will take back the weapon. Now the problem is that she needs to return to the palace if she wants to fight the ghost. The king drove them. He doesn’t intend to let the two come back because he wants to obey the law.

The eight-foot-tall was wounded. He won’t give up the plan to hurt royal. The king and the prince will be his targets. Fortunately, Queen Dowager decides not to hurt the prince even if she wishes her son to be the king. The Haunted Palace shows that Queen Dowager won’t support the eight-foot-tall ghost. The ghost will be hard to approach the king and the prince even if the powerful rivals left the palace. But Pung-San will do something evil. He’s the man who’s controlling the eight-foot-tall ghost. He worked with Queen Dowager and he planned to deal with the royal. But Queen Dowager backed off because she worried that she cannot control the situation if she uses the ghost again.

Will Eight-Foot-Tall Ghost Kill Prince Yeongin?

Prince Yeongin is the terrible who slept with the maid with his power. It made the maid kill herself. The maid turned into the water spirit Ok-Im. She came back to take revenge. Prince Yeongin was startled by the water spirit. He hides in his room and he refuses to go to school in The Haunted Palace episode 4. Queen Dowager receives the message. She visits her son. But she’s told that her son bullied a maid and caused the maid’s death. She’s disappointed in him.

Prince Yeongin is pressured by his mother. He’s furious to go to Ok-Im’s house. He cannot deal with the water spirit. But he can hurt her family. He finds her father and he beats him. She’s very sad when she witnesses the guy bullying her father. She wants to take revenge and she tails him. Prince Yeongin goes to the bar. He’s drunk to return home. The bodyguard wants to accompany him. But the prince rejects the help. The bodyguard has to leave. Ok-Im wants to take on revenge on the prince. But she sees the eight-foot-tall ghost chokes the prince.

It seems that Pung-San helped the eight-foot-tall ghost go out again. The ghost targeted Prince Yeongin. Queen Dowager knows nothing about it. Because she would stop Pung-San if she knows what he’s doing. She gave Prince Yeongin’s clothes to him. But he burned it. It indicates the real intention of The Haunted Palace. Prince Yeongin will be killed.

Prince Yeongin and his mother aren’t good people. One caused the maid’s death, another plans to usurp the throne for her son. Prince Yeongin deserves his death. His mother should lose her son. But Queen Dowager will take revenge for her son if Pung-San makes her believe that the king killed her son. She will join him again and she will support his plan to use the ghost even if she knows the consequences of helping the ghost.

The king doesn’t know what happening in the palace. He actually made a mistake to drive Gangcheori and Yeo-Ri. Fortunately, he’s wearing the glasses Yeo-Ri’s grandma left to him. He can protect himself. But his wife and his son will be involved. It’s obvious that the eight-foot-tall ghost hates the royal family very much. The royal family should have done something bad to the ghost. So the ghost came back to take revenge. Queen Dowager might know the truth since she’s the king’s mother. The king isn’t the protagonist. He’s related to the case. But he cannot resolve the problem. The question will be left to Yeo-Ri and Gangcheori. They will disclose the truth.
