The Red Sleeve Cuff: Episode 15 Recap

Deok-Im leaves Royal Consort Yeong’s book and walks out of the palace. She gets on knees to palace gate, wishing Yi San to be fine. Yi San goes to Deok-Im’s room and finds out that the woman he loves left. He feels sad and thinks Deok-Im is the woman who doesn’t beg him. Yi San complains that Deok-Im makes him miss her. He opens the book she left and finds the page which was torn up. He’s shocked.
Deok-Im lives in Princess Chungyeon’s house. She earns money through selling the novels she wrote. She sees the bodyguards posting the poster. She learns that Yi San is looking for new wife. She tries to walk to take a look at the poster. But she’s stopped by Deok-Ro.
Deok-Ro smiles at Deok-Im and sticks to her when she walks. He sighs that Yi San has forgotten Deok-Im and his sister. Yi San goes out of the palace to hunt. But it’s raining. The follower tells Yi San to go to Princess Chungyeon’s house. Yi San remembers Deok-Im is living with Princess Chungyeon. He agrees to it.
Yi San talks about the new queen with the followers. He sees Deok-Im who returns after she sold books. The two have an eye contact. Deok-Im doesn’t want to greet Yi San. She leaves after she saw Princess Chungyeon off. Yi San sighs when he sees Deok-Im leaving.
Deok-Im is upset after she saw Yi San. Princess Chungyeon tells Deok-Im to ask Yi San for letting her return to palace. But Deok-Im doesn’t want to do that because she thinks Yi San won’t for give her after she hurt him deeply. Princess Chungyeon points out that Yi San wouldn’t ask her to take care of her if he doesn’t have any feeling for her.
Deok-Im feels sad after knowing the truth. She doesn’t know how to face Yi San. But she runs into him again when she places the lantern. He asks her about the torn page in the book. But she forgot it. He doesn’t ask more about it. Because they’re strangers.
Deok-Im cries to tell Yi San to avoid her as a stranger if he encounters her again. It makes him get angry. She tells him not to care for her feelings, asking him for the punishment. He tears up as well, touching her cloth belt. He tells her to sleep with him if she asks for the punishment.
Yi San tells Deok-Im that she will be locked up in the cold palace if she cannot get the position after she sleeps with him. He adds that the maids will look down on her. He knows that she prefers to die if he treats her in such a way. He doesn’t want to hurt her. So he leaves. She sheds tears.

Yi San is furious to leave Princess Chungyeon’s palace. He runs into Princess Hwabin who is going to be the queen. She greets him. But he ignores her and tells his follower to send her home. Court Lady Seo runs to bring the good news to Deok-Im that she can go to the palace with the position of the maid of Princess Hwabin.
Deok-Im visits Deok-Ro before she leaves. She feels guilty for his sister’s death. She comforts him that it wasn’t his mistake. He feels sad after knowing she’s going to get into palace. He tells her to run away with him after knowing she doesn’t want to return to palace.
Deok-Im is scared after Deok-Ro confessed his feelings to her. She learns that he lost the hope to live after he got kicked out from palace. He wants to live after knowing he can run away with the woman the king loves. She decides to leave after she heard what he said. But he reminds her that she’s the killer if she hears the message of his death.
The Red Sleeve Cuff: Episode 15 Ending
Yi San walks to Deok-Im and finds out that she’s washing clothes in the evening. He questions Princess Hwabin after seeing the red hands of Deok-Im. But Court Lady Seo reminds him that Deok-Im is the maid of Princess Hwabin. He has to tell Princess Hwabin not to bully Deok-Im.
Princess Hwabin glares at Deok-Im. Yi San visits Hyebin Hong and mentions she recommended Deok-Im to Princess Hwabin. She points out that he gets angry because he still has feelings for Deok-Im. She adds that only the girl can make him happy. She tells him that she wishes him to get the happiness as his mom.
Yi San thinks about Hyebin Hong’s words when he’s on the way home. He tells the followers to leave. He doesn’t know what to do because Deok-Im kept rejecting him. He runs into Deok-Im who’s crying after knowing Deok-Ro passed away. Yi San grabs her hands telling her to only cry in front of him.
Deok-Im mentions Deok-Ro’s death. Yi San tells Deok-Im that she has the chance if she’s alive. He asks her if she saved him. But she doesn’t want to mention the past. He realizes that she actually saved him. He thanks her for saving him.
Yi San explains to Deok-Im that he actually cared for the maids. He adds that he couldn’t do that because he’s the king. He catches the chance to touch her face, asking her if he can retrieve the past. She’s silent so that he has to leave. But she holds his sleeve to keep him. He turns around and hugs her, confessing his feelings to her. She doesn’t reject him this time. She hugs him back.
