Deok-Im feels hurt and thinks Yi San shouldn’t returned. He tells her that nobody can stop him. She notes that he’s upset and asks him about it. He tells her that the one who hurt him was her. He mentions she had a good sleeping and drooled when he worried about her.
Yi San stands up and walks into his room. He tells Deok-Im to leave. Kyung-Hee tells her friends that Deok-Ro bribed the servants at observation facility because Yi San didn’t go to Hong Dan’s palace. It makes Bok-Yeon cry. Tae-Ho meets with Deok-Ro. He thinks he should do that because it made Yi San unhappy.
But Deok-Ro points out that Yi San will let it go again. Tae-Ho decides to leave since Deok-Ro didn’t take his suggestion. But Deok-Ro stops Tae-Ho and asks him about Yi San’s next plan. Tae-Ho reveals Yi San wants to build a castle. Deok-Ro walks away. He wonders why Yi San told his plan to everyone except him.
Hong Dan summons Deok-Im to her palace. The little girl’s face doesn’t look good. She tells Deok-Im that she called her because she worries about her brother. Deok-Im comforts Hong Dan that Yi San won’t hate Deok-Ro for what he did.
Hong Dan cries to tell Deok-Im that she fears that Yi San hates Deok-Ro because of her. She thinks she’s not a useful girl. Deok-Im grabs Hong Dan’s hand. She has an eye contact with her. Yi San summons Deok-Im. He tells her that he has known she met with Hong Dan. He thinks Deok-Ro asked her to do that.
Deok-Im denies it. She tells Yi San that Hong Dan is a friend of her, asking him for caring for the little girl. Because she thinks it’s his duty as her husband. It makes him get angry. He cries to blame her for giving him to another woman. He tells her that he has loved her deeply after she saved him.
Yi San grabs Deok-Im’s hand and asks her for confessing her feelings to him. But she takes back her hand and tells him that she doesn’t like him at all. She returns to the dormitory where Bok-Yeon laughs when she reads the book with the roommates. Deok-Im joins them. She thinks it’s the place she should stay. She wipes off her tears.
Court Lady Seo walks into the palace. She reminds Yi San that it’s time to get off work. But he tells her that he’s missing a woman. He asks her if he should force the woman to marry him. She tells him not to do that because he’s a good king. Hyebin Hong breaks into the palace. She reports to Yi San that something bad happened to Hong Dan.
Deok-Ro tries to wake Hong Dan up. But he fails. He asks the doctor to feed his sister the medicine. But the doctor tells him that his sister is dead. Deok-Ro is furious to throw the bowl to the doctor. He grabs the doctor’s collar asking him for saving Hong Dan.

Yi San stops Deok-Ro when he tries to force Deok-Im to write the confession to wrong Queen Kim. Tae-Ho puts his sword on Deok-Ro’s neck. He gets the bodyguards to catch Deok-Ro’s followers. Deok-Ro tries to explain it to Yi San. But he’s taken away by Tae-Ho. Yi San throws the book to Deok-Im when she cares for Kyung-Hee. She takes a look at him when he walks away.
Deok-Ro gets on knees to Yi San. He tells him that he did it because he lost his sister. He asks him for his mercy. But Yi San tells Deok-Ro that he has forgiven him many times. He tells him that he’s going to take his life. He adds that he wasn’t his follower. Deok-Ro tears up and asks for his death. Because Yi San was the last one he trusted.
Tae-Ho gets on knees to Yi San. He asks him for forgiving Deok-Ro. He tells him that he knows he wants to keep Deok-Ro’s life. Yi San tears up and forgives Deok-Ro in the end. Kyung-Hee wakes up. She asks Deok-Im if she saved her. Deok-Im admits it. Kyung-Hee falls asleep again because of the pain.
Young-Hee walks out of the house with Deok-Im. She feels sorry for losing the book she asked her to take care of. Bok-Yeon explains that someone took away the book when Young-Hee went to the restroom. Court Lady Seo shows up. She tells Deok-Im that Yi San is summoning her.
Deok-Im walks into the library with the lantern. Yi San is waiting for her. She puts the lantern on the table. He blames her for making Queen Jungsoon step in it. He thinks Deok-Ro would get killed if she knew what Deok-Ro did. He tells her that she almost ruined his plan.
Deok-Im tells Yi San that she just wanted to save her friend. She tells him that she cannot stand it anymore. He yells at her and thinks she’s a bad maid. She agrees to what he said, asking for her death. But he grabs her arms telling her that he loves her deeply.
Deok-Im takes off Yi San’s hand. She tells him that she doesn’t have any feeling to him. She tries to leave. But he grabs her hand and catches the chance to hug her when he kisses her. She tries to push him over. But she gives up the mind and enjoys his kissing.
