This is the Recap & Ending for K-Drama The Red Sleeve Cuff: Episode 9. Yi San and Deok-Im hug each other after they recognized. But Deok-Im pushes Yi San away, and asks him about the signal kite. She tells him that she will use the signal kite to inform him if she finds out that someone wants to rebel.

Yi San learns that Deok-Im is embarrassed so that he walks to her and confesses his feelings to her. He tells her that he has missed the girl after he left the funeral of Royal Consort Yeong with her. He adds that the girl was the only who comforted him. He tells her that he wants to let her live a good life.
Deok-Im doesn’t get moved by Yi San. She tells him not to give any meaning to their encounter. She tries to leave after she rejected him. But he grabs her hand and lets her hand go after seeing the helpless on her face. The two are silent. The follower informs Yi San that King Youngjo is sick.
King Youngjo forgets the goal why he called Yi San. Queen Jungsoon reminds King Youngjo that he called Yi San for the tomb of ancestors. Yi San has to replace King Youngjo to go to the tomb because King Youngjo is sick. Yi San agrees to it. He wants to get the reports from the people on the road. King Youngjo is happy to let Yi San take the ceremonial weaponry of the king. So people will trust him.
King Youngjo hands over his token to Yi San, letting him transfer his personal bodyguards. Queen Jungsoon tells Princess Hwawan that she wants to throw a banquet for Yi San. Princess Hwawan points out that she’s the only one who prepares foods for King Youngjo.
Princess Hwawan returns to her palace. She cries to tell Head Court Lady Jo that she doesn’t want to see the happiness of Queen Jungsoon and Hyebin Hong. Head Court Lady tells the maids not to serve Princess Hwawan because she lost her power.
Court Lady Jung reports to Head Court Lady that King Youngjo let Yi San manage the court. The maids worry that they will get replaced. Head Court Lady Jo comforts the maids after she was told that Yi San is going to go to the tomb of ancestors. She swears to protect all of the maids. Head Court Lady Jo reminds Wol-Hye that they can do something after Yi San leaves the palace. She hands over a box to her.
Deok-Im cleans up the room for Yi San. Court Lady Seo tells Deok-Im to warm the bed for Yi San because there’s no stove. But Deok-Im needs to leave before Yi San comes. Deok-Im is happy to accept the task. She falls asleep. The follower reports to Yi San that there’re many little girls missing.

Deok-Ro tells Yi San to ignore it. He worries that ministers will know King Youngjo is sick. But Yi San insists on looking into the case. He returns to his room and sees Deok-Im sleeping in his bed. He sits next to her, trying to touch her face. But he gives up the mind and wears the quilt on her. He lets Tae-Ho watch the door before he leaves.
Deok-Im wakes up and realizes that she overslept. She rushes out of the room. Tae-Ho is curious how she got into the room. Deok-Im spots Wol-Hye asking Court Lady Seo to go to take foods. Deok-Im joins Court Lady Seo. Court Lady Seo reveals Head Court Lady Jo intends to help King Youngjo choose the heir. She adds that she was forced to sign the contract.
Deok-Im comforts Court Lady Seo that she will try her best to protect her. Court Lady Seo is moved. They run into the kids who take the gunpowder bag. The gunpowder cannot be used because it’s wet. Court Lady Seo learns that it’s Head Court Lady Jo’s plan.
Deok-Im worries about Yi San. She spots the kite. Court Lady Seo exchanges the kite with the foods. Deok-Im turns the kite into signal kite. Yi San is thinking about the missing kids case. He looks up and spots the signal kite. He learns that it’s time to fight.
Yi San arrives at the arsenal and finds out that all of the weapons were ruined. Fortunately, his bow was kept by Tae-Ho. He gives the token to Deok-Ro and asks him to bring the reinforcement. Deok-Im runs into the woods she worries that Yi San didn’t spot the signal kite.
But Court Lady Seo’s leg is hurt when she runs. She tells Deok-Im to run alone. The maid takes the wine cup to see Yi San. She closes the door once she gets into the room. She tries to pay her respect to Yi San. She’s surprised that the crown prince is dressed up by Tae-Ho. He sees that the girl isn’t the maid who comes from crown prince’s palace. He pulls out his sword. The girl pulls out the gun to shoot him. But he avoids it.
The Red Sleeve Cuff: Episode 9 Ending
Wol-Hye flees after she sent the signal. Yi San realizes that the enemies will come after the shooting. He tells his followers to welcome the enemies. The enemies break into the palace. But they’re killed by the reinforcements that was taken by Deok-Ro.
Yi San hugs Deok-Ro and thanks him after the killers got arrested. Yi San sighs and sees Deok-Im. She runs to him and bumps into his arms. She asks him if he saw his signal. He is moved after seeing what she did to him. He tells her that he knew the message was sent by her. Yi San confesses that he saw Deok-Im’s face when he was going to get killed. He hugs her when she falls asleep.
