In the 3-4th episodes of Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap, Ning Que and Sang Sang arrive at capital, and run into their childhood friend Zhuo Er. Zhuo Er says he has method to kill Xia Hou, and asks Ning Que to take care of Sang Sang. Li Yu returns Tang Empire, but she doesn’t want to visit Emperor Tang because she is still in anger to him.
Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 3
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for Ever Night Chinese Drama Episodes 3-4.
The cattle thieves see the blade and bow, and recognizes Ning Que. They want to flee, but Ning Que declares to kill all of cattle thieves in Tang Empire, and wants to drink with them. The cattle thieves returns wine to him, and flee.
Li Yu’s son wants to thank Ning Que for saving him, and Ning Que remembers his childhood. Li Yu is still cold to Ning Que, and he points out her princess status. She offers him a good future to thank him, but he is only interested in study with Fu Zi.
Li Yu remembers her mother asked her to train her younger brother to be a good emperor like her father Li Zhongyi. But emperor got married with Xia Tian, and gave the title of empress to her. Li Yu saw Xia Tian cast magic art to emperor, and Xia Tian discovered Li Yu at the same time. She fled on the end.
Li Yu tells Ning Que that she cannot forget the tale of ever night. The minister predicted that Li Yu would rule Tang Empire, and emperor punished the minister. Li Yu worries about his younger brother Hun Yuan, and asks Ning Que to call her name. He thinks her name is beautiful, and she is pleased.
He leans his head on her shoulder, and sleeps together. The next day, Hua Shanyue picks up Li Yu, and she thrills because she didn’t see him over two years. She wants to leave with him. Ning Que wakes up, and claims he wants to tell her some words. But she asks him to talk with her latter. Hua Shanyue stares at Ning Que with temper.
Xia Hou rides horse to go out of capital, but Commander Xu Chongshan blocks his way, and sends him into jail. Emperor beats Xia Hou up, and blames him for murdering his daughter Li Yu. Xia Hou explains that he did it for empire. Emperor is furious, and points out that Li Yu married to grassland for empire’s benefit. But she is almost killed by Xia Hou.
Xia Tian begs emperor to forgive her older brother Xia Hou, and thinks he was utilized by west palace. She swears that she will treat Li Yu and Hun Yuan like her children, and the person will become her enemy if he hurts them. But Xia Hou insists that Li Yu’s coming will bring chaos to world. Emperor threatens Xia Hou to die in the jail if Li Yu cannot return safely. Xia Tian asks Xia Hou not to take risk for her.
Xia Hou remembers Wei Guangming broke into his camp, and exposed Xia Hou and Xia Tian were survivals of devil sect. Wei Guoming asked him to get rid of devil king’s son to keep the secret. Lu Qingchen visits Ning Que, and wants to see if he can use magic art. But Ning Que didn’t feel the gas of ocean, so Lu Qingchen thinks Ning Que cannot become magician. Ning Que is frustrated.
Li Yu asks Sang Sang to give a kettle of wine to Ning Que to against the cold. He dreams a butcher and a drinker tell him that it’s dark. Ning Que wakes up, and doesn’t know what they mean.
Long Qing and Zi Mo arrive at wasteland, and Long Qing asks Zi Mo to stay there. He rides the horse to go to the grove, and sees a child playing the stones. The hunters surround Long Qing, and Zi Mo arrives to force the hunters to speak out where the gate of devil sect is. They tells him that only elder knows it, so Zi Mo kills them. Zi Mo wants to kill the child. But Long Qi stops him, and comforts the child. But the child spits to him.
Ning Que takes a book to asks Lu Qingchen for advice. Lu Qingchen says swordmaster uses sword to fight, mindmaster uses mind to kill enemy, spellmaster places the gas of world into text. Mindmaster is usually stronger than swordmaster when they’re at same level. You have to stop mindmaster’s meditation if you wants to defeat him. Ning Que reveals he dreamed ocean, but Lu Qingchen teases that he just wetted bed.
Emperor asks prince Li Peiyan to investigate the minister’s death, and Li Peiyan recommends Zhang Yiqi. Emperor agrees. Zhang Yiqi takes the gift to thank Li Peiyan, and worries about Li Yu supports Hun Yuan. Li Peiyan is furious to scold Zhang Yiqi.
Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 4
Zhang Yiqi is scared on his knees. Li Peiyan laughs, and reminds him to enlarge his territory. Zhang Yiqi asks to clean out the lane next to his territory, but Chang Siwei tells him it belongs to fish and dragon sect, and asks him to inform Zhao Xiaoshu. But Zhang Yiqi ignores it.
Zhang Yiqi posts the notice, and asks the people live in the lane to move out. Zhao Xiaoshu takes his followers arrive, and Chang Siwei turns round to flee. Zhao Xiaoshu asks people defend the gate, and wants to play with Zhang Yiqi. Cui Delu reports it to his master Prince of Yan, Chong Ming. Chong Ming asks Cui Delu to get rid of Zhao Xiaoshu, and sends the magician to make chaos. Emperor of Tang took army to defeat Yang kingdom, and Chong Ming became hostage. He swore to take revenge.
Ning Que takes Sang Sang to arrive at the capital, but the guard interrogates them. They passes it when fish and dragon sect Qi Siye wants to enter the capital as well. They arrive at the street of rosefinch, and it rains. Sang Sang holds the black umbrella for Ning Que. He gets pain in his heart, and she feels chill. So they hug each other, and the rain stops. They recover.
The second teacher of academy Jun Mo visits guilty cliff, and remembers his past. Li Manman shows up, and visits their little uncle. They sigh that little uncle is the only person daring to fight with his fate, and expects the next one to visit guilty cliff. Li Manman claims the person will show up soon.
Ning Que and Sang Sang arrive at outside of Zeng family, which didn’t lived very long. He remembers the happy time when seeing the grasses. She gives the money to the beggar, and Zhuo Er finds Ning Que while hiding.
Hun Yuan sings and plays shadow plays at his house. Li Yu shows up, and he thrills to prepare the shadow plays for her. But she scolds him that he only knows to play. Li Hunyuan flees, and Li Yu is disappointed.
Li Yu is going to change clothes, and Li Peiyan visits her. He feels guilty for didn’t protect her. She remembers that she asked for marrying to Jinzhang Wangting to stop emperor from marrying Xia Tian. But emperor scolded her, and married her to Jinzhang Wangting.
Li Peiyan asks Li Yu to visit Emperor Tang, but she is still in anger. Because Emperor Tang only has Xia Tian in his mind. Emperor Tang wants to visit Li Yu after knowing her returning, but he worries about her anger. Xia Tian sends a letter to Li Yu, and asks her to visit court with her son Xiao Man. Emperor Tang is pleased.

Zhuo Er Chases Ning Que and Sang Sang, and Ning Que finds him. They have a fight, and Ning Que finds the rope around Zhuo Er’s hand. He remembers that people in the village were killed, and they fled to be brothers. The rope was the evidence. They saved Sang Sang on the road, and she was just a baby hiding under the black umbrella. She had scar of mulberry leaf, so they called her Sang Sang.
Ning Que tells Zhuo Er that he went to capital for Xia Hou, and reveals Xia Hou killed the people in their village. Only magician can defeats him. Zhuo Er tells Ning Que that he only needs to take care of Sang Sang, and reveals he joined army and is good friend of Zhao Xiaoshu. They appoints to take revenge for Xia Hou. Hun Yu releases his temper to the young master of Yushi Tai since he was scolded by Li Yu, and calls himself emperor.
Ning Que and Sang Sang are broke, and have to sleep at street. She suggests him to sell his texts. Zhao Xiaoshu questions Zhuo Er if he comes from army. Zhuo Er admits it, and asks Zhao Xiashu to kill him with Zhuo Er’s sword. But Zhao Xiaoshu tells Zhuoer to be the spy of the army, and gives him the portrait of a masked person. He asks him to find the person then.
Li Yu takes Xiao Man to visit court, and remembers Emperor Tang’s love. But everything is changed. She sees him playing the toys she played when she was a kid, and is moved. He treats them as treasure, and hopes she can live like a daughter of normal people. He will fight it back if she is bullied.
