This is the recap of Legend of the Phoenix Chinese Drama Episode 1, Ning Zhi is summoned to congratulate birthday to Queen, and Elder Princess teaches her some congratulations. But Elder Princess arrests Ning Zhi because the congratulations insult Queen. Wei Guang disagrees and thinks Queen will be happy after hearing the congratulations.

Lang Kun introduces some theatres to Empress, and she chooses the Phoenix theatre. Empress asks Wei Guang to summon Phoenix theatre. Ning Zhi performs chairs in the cloud, but she falls from the sky. Wei Guang catches her, and they have a long eye contact.

She thanks him and asks him to say something. But he points out that she was too irritable, and tells her that Empress invites her to perform for Queen and she will pay her 500 silver. Ning Zhi is lost while staring at Wei Guang, but she is sober to thrill when she confirms the message.

People praises Ning Zhi for getting the deal, but Ning Zhi thinks they should thank Wei Guang. Ning Zhi’s mother Luo Ying glares at her, and Ning Zhi tells people to toast Luo Ying. Luo Ying tells Ning Zhi the palace is a place kills her without any reason, and blames her for taking colleagues to jump into it.

Ning Zhi promises Luo Ying that she will return safely. Luo Ying gives the clothes she made to Ning Zhi, and tells her to be careful. The Elder Princess Pang Zhen spots Ning Zhi taking her men walking around the palace, and thinks it’s Ning Zhi’s last time all her life.

Ning Zhi shares to Elder Princess that they prepared some words for Queen’s birthday. But Elder Princess thinks Queen won’t like it and whispers something to Ning Zhi. Ning Zhi suspects if Queen really likes it. Elder Princess claims she knows Queen most as she is her daughter, and gives some jewelry to Ning Zhi.

Elder Princess tells Ning Zhi that their good days will come if they get Queen’s favor. Wei Guang hears the man tells Luo Ying that Elder Princess taught Ning Zhi the congratulations in person. He decides to return to palace, and tells his man that the life is important.

Ning Zhi speaks out the congratulations that the grandmother isn’t human. Guangding Prince Pang Yu yells at Ning Zhi and asks her who isn’t human, and she explains that the grandmother is the Antarctic Seno. She adds that the descendants are thieves.

Elder Princess asks the bodyguards to arrest Ning Zhi, and thinks Ning Zhi means Emperor is a thief. Empress wants to look into it, but Elder Princess thinks Empress should avoid it. So Empress asks Guangding Prince and Elder Princess to look into it.

The maids get the delicious foods for Ning Zhi, and asks her to speak out that Empress instigated her. The man reports to Emperor that he found the jewelry in Ning Zhi’s room. Emperor recognizes that the jewelry belongs to Empress.

Lang Kun gives the list of Elder Princess’s men to Empress, and they want to impeach Empress. Empress complains that the men betrayed her when she falls down, and claims that she remembered their name. Lang Kun reminds Empress that the key is Ning Zhi.

Ning Zhi thinks about how to protect the men in the theatre, but the bodyguards break into and stun her. Ning Zhi is lost when seeing Wei Guang, but he reminds her to be on knees to Empress. Empress asks Ning Zhi if she wants to save her friends. Ning Zhi says yes.

Empress tells Ning Zhi that she will protect her if she speaks out the truth. Lang Kun reports that General Zhen wants to search Empress’s palace, and Empress tells Lang Kun to stop General Zhen. Empress swears to keep the lives of the Phoenix theatre.

Ning Zhi admits that the congratulations are taught by Elder Princess, and Empress takes Ning Zhi to see Emperor. But when they step out, General Zheng wants to arrest Ning Zhi. But Empress holds Ning Zhi’s hand and takes her away. Emperor asks Empress why she took Ning Zhi to her palace.

Empress explains that she got some interesting things, and tells Ning Zhi to confess to Emperor. Ning Zhi admits that Bodhisattva taught her the congratulations, and shares that she gets the sign from the temple. Elder Princess offers to cancel Empress’s position as she took away the culprit.

But Wei Guang thinks Queen will be happy when hearing the congratulations, and offers to die with Ning Zhi if he fails. Elder Princess and Guangding Prince persuade Queen not to attend the birthday banquet, but Queen wants to see the lively.

Elder Princess worries that Queen gets angry, but Queen thinks nobody will insult her. Ning Zhi tells Wei Guang that they have no mood to practice because they’re the fish and meat under the knife. He tells her that she involved him, and she swears to keep his life before her head getting cut off.

But he tells her to look around and thinks her head isn’t enough. Ning Zhi wonders if they can surprise Queen, and Wei Guang tells Ning Zhi the thing touches Queen is her heart. He shares that the win depends on the courage of survival.

Elder Princess tells Guangding Prince to kill Ning Zhi if Queen isn’t happy.
