In Juliette’s room, Juliette tries to take one vitamin tablet in Silo Season 3 episode 3. The maid tells Juliette that her pulse is good. She asks her if she slept well. Juliette says that it was fine. She tells the bodyguard Jerry that she wants to walk the Silo on her own. He agrees. So she walks out of her room.
It flashes back. Daniel Keene goes to a meeting when Mr. Alameda is mourning Juan. He introduces himself as Charlotte’s brother to Alameda. Alameda knows Daniel is a Congressman. He tells him that his sister is family to them. He’s their family as well. He asks him about Charlotte. Daniel reveals Charlotte’s memory has been affected. He has many questions.
Daniel tells Alameda that someone told him that before the mission. The whole squadron’s communication devices were switched out. Alameda says that downgraded to communication devices that were discontinued years ago, even before his time in the service. Juan called him right before, told him his radio was older than he was. They did it for preventing jamming. It exposed them to a whole lot more. Buddy of Alameda who was charged with filing out forms on the incident said that because the communication devices weren’t encrypted, they could have easily been recorded.
Daniel asks Alameda if the guy said where they could get a copy. Alameda denies it. Daniel asks Alameda if it’s top secret. Alameda says that his friend didn’t want the sick people to listen to the sound of his son’s death. The captain of Nimitz shows up. Alameda goes to greet the captain.
At present, the maid reports it to her boss that Juliette spit the meds in the sink. The boss thanks the maid Amy. Amy asks her boss if she wants her to double it. The boss Camille asks Amy to do what she’s doing.
Juliette visits the woman. She hands over a note to her. The woman reads the note. Juliette knows the woman took Lukas Kyle somewhere during the rebellion. She wants to find the guy. A man shows up behind the woman. He wants to know what happened. She tells a lie to him that just more delays on the rebar. She decides to go out.
Juliette visits another woman. She heard that the Sheriff was at her place. She came to look for Sheriff. The woman says that the guy isn’t there. He left last night on a missing persons in the Mids. But Juliette wants to come in. She doesn’t believe the woman’s words. The woman opens the door. Juliette gets in the room. She asks the woman if they met. The woman denies it. But Juliette thinks she visited the woman if she was a sheriff. The woman denies it again.
Juliette asks the woman about Patrick Kennedy and Lukas Kyle. The woman says that she knows nothing. She claims that she’s very busy. Juliette believes that the woman heard the two. Patrick was the famous fugitive in the Silo. The woman says that she doesn’t pay attention to the gossip. Juliette asks the woman what happened to her wrist. The woman says she fell. Juliette figures it out that the woman was part of the break-in. She’s not here to arrest her. She just wants to know where Patrick is.
She asks him if her husband knows she’s an Outsider. If her husband knows it, it can explain why Patrick hasn’t been caught, and why Lukas hasn’t been found. The woman tells Juliette that Lukas is dead. Patrick knows places in the Silo. Paul, his deputies, the raiders, anyone wouldn’t know where to look.
Juliette agrees with what the woman said. But the woman knows where to look. The woman says that she doesn’t believe Lukas is alive. Patrick hunted the guy for months and found nothing. He even had them follow Lukas’s mother. Juliette asks the woman if she talked to Lukas’s mother. Lukas’s mother said that the last time she was her son was in her apartment during the rebellion, not long before Juliette came back. Sims came in with a gun.
He wanted to know what Bernard and Lukas were talking about. He threatened to kill Lukas and his mother. But Lukas refused to leak it. The woman figures it out that those guys never took Juliette down to the bottom. Paul said the bodies were three deep over the circulation fans on 144. They were running the incinerator 24 hours a day. Look like Lukas was turned to ash months ago.
Camille reports to her boss that Juliette is looking for Lukas. She thinks she won’t find the guy. But if they follow Juliette, they will confirm Lukas is dead. Patrick will show up. They won’t need Vitamin D anymore. But he thinks it’s the improbable possibilities. He lets her decide the lives of 9,913 people. He asks her to expedite the transport of Vitamin D to Filtration. The sooner she introduces Vitamin D to the water supply, the better the probability of survival in a time when her Silo is dangerously close to a Safeguard.
It flashes back. The girl gets in the office. She gets a call from Daniel. She asks him about the service. He reveals he talked to Juan’s father. Juan’s father thinks they could find a recording of the mission’s comms somewhere on the Internet. She figures it out that it’s dark web. He admits it. He doesn’t know when to begin with something like that. She says she does.
She hangs up when her boss shows up. She tells him that she will complete the cover soon. We learn that she’s Helen. She says that her cover will win a Pulitzer. But he doesn’t want a Pulitzer. He just wants her to do her job well. She tells the guy Phil that she’s doing the job. She prefers to work remote, not staying in the playground all day. He tells her that he’s going to fire her. They packed the stuff for her. Security will see her out. He asks her not to make a scene.
The security takes away Helen’s laptop. Helen realizes that Phil is serious. She takes her stuff. She tells him that she didn’t want the job. She sees Captain of Nimitz talking to Phil before she leaves the company.
At present, the woman mentions Orla didn’t have a message for one day. She guesses she’s working for McLain. But the Sheriff will find Orla. The man asks Sheriff if he has children. Sheriff reveals he has a daughter. The man thinks Sheriff should understand it. He asks him to take their baby home. Sheriff promises the man he will do that. He leaves Orla’s house with the woman. She tells him that Orla’s parents think they’re kids. She points out that he met Orla. Orla isn’t a child.
She reveals their parents worked in Supply for decades before the job, But Orla was the sister one in their family to become shadow. We figure it out that she’s Orla’s sister. Sheriff asks her if she didn’t tell him anything else important. Anyone he should talk to? She reveals Orla has a new boyfriend, Mike Davidson. He dated Glenda Harwood. He’s McLain’s previous shadow. Sheriff thinks it’s kind of odd. She stays out of Orla’s love life. He asks her last time she saw her, was there anything strange or different? She says her sister is normally an upbeat person. People gravitate to her.
But lately, all she can say is she seemed burdened by something. Maybe it’s just the stress of running Supply. Sheriff walks away.
It flashes back. Daniel and Helen are in the car. He asks her where they’re going. She says King Street. She needs to take something in the bag. She asks him to grab the steering wheel. She gets her bag. She throws the notebook to him. She tells him that it’s on the back of the first page. He opens the notebook. He sees the words “112 A Kane Street.” She asks him to map it out. The guy said his name was Steve. It’s highly unlikely to actually be Steve. He wishes Steve would send them a file or a link.
She reveals Steve wanted them to come in person. He thinks it sounds a little sketchy. She mentions it’s the dark web. Sketchy is kind of the point. She asks him if he doesn’t think it’s weird that she was fired. She starts looking into Charlotte and suddenly she loses her job. He asks her if she was doing a good job. He mentions she said she hated working there. People can usually pick up on that. She blames him for acting like a jerk. He feels regret that she lost the job. Those guys are bad people. She thanks him. She feels better.
Daniel and Helen visit Steve. Steve opens the door before Helen knocks at the door. Daniel and Helen get in the house. Steve makes sure that there’s nobody tailing them. He closes the door and he locks it. He takes away Helen’s phone. He asks Daniel for his badge. Daniel is confused. Steve asks Helen if Daniel doesn’t know the deal. She says that she doesn’t know the deal.
He tells the two that their intermediary agreed he could clone Daniel’s Congressional badge in exchange for information on the recording. Daniel rejects it. So Steve asks Daniel to get lost. Daniel has to give his badge to the guy.
Helen wants to hear the recording of the unencrypted comms. The Iran mission. Steve says that he was told Helen just wanted to know if it existed. It does. Helen tells Steve it wasn’t the deal. He claims that it was his deal. He asks her to have Byron be a bit more specific with her request next time.
Daniel asks Steve who he works for. Steve says nobody. He’s just one of many like-minded individuals holding government like Daniel accountable by intercepting communications and finding what they’re not supposed to. Daniel figures it out that Steve has heard the comms. Steve admits he did it. It’s horrible. Somebody is up to something. What he heard is unlike anything he has.
Daniel tells Steve that his sister was a pilot on that mission. She’s Senior Pilot Charlotte Keene. Steve reveals someone in Moldova got 20 seconds of it, but it was taken down less than five minutes after it was posted. He recorded a cassette before it disappeared. He refuses to give the cassette to Daniel no matter what he offers him.
Helen grabs the cassette from Steve. She listens to the recording. She persuades Daniel not to listen to it. But he listens to it.
Helen and Daniel leave Steve’s place. Helen asks Daniel what could cause something like that horrific to happen? Four planes, their pilots. What could take control like that? Everything at the same time? Daniel doesn’t know.
At present, the man Robert takes his son to the school. He sees Juliette. He’s angry to ask her why she’s there. She explains it to him that she wants to ask him something. But he asks her not to come his son’s school or his home. She understands it. She asks him to help her. But he tells her that his son remembers it. He wakes up in the middle of the night afraid. She reminds him that his son has a father. But she doesn’t. She doesn’t remember what it feels like to have a father. He asks her what she wants. She asks him to speak out what he knows about Lukas Kyle. And if he knows where the guy is. He shakes his head. She points out that he knows Bernard took Kyle out of the mines to make him his shadow. She wants to know why Bernard did that. He says he doesn’t know. She thanks him. She promises him that she will take away from his son.
Camille walks into the office. She finds out that her son isn’t at the school. She asks Robert about it. Robert tells his wife that he wants the family to go to the park. He wants them to spend some time together. But she says that it’s not the day. She thinks he doesn’t know what she’s dealing with. He points out that something came up.
Juliette goes down the Gap. Shirley failed to stop Juliette. She calls Knox. Knox sees Juliette after she landed. He tells her that Kyle isn’t there. He tells her that Shirley isn’t lying. Walker sealed up the Digger Void three months ago. There’s no way Kyle is down there. He wants to help her. She asks him if Bernard took Kale out of the mines and make him his shadow. So Kale must have learned something.
Juliette asks Knox what he knows about the mines. He doesn’t know who could learn anything from down there. It’s just a nightmare. But he knows a guy.
At the office, Camille asks Robert if their son, Anthony sees Juliette. He denies it. She thinks he scares Anthony more by taking him out of school. She reveals they were already tracking Juliette. He says that he didn’t tell Anthony Juliette wasn’t there. She thinks it’s not the point. She doesn’t have time for surprises and field trips. He points out that it’s not a field. He tells her that it’s important that they take time to make memories as a family, even when it’s not convenient for them.
She asks him how many years did Anthony and she come home to an empty apartment where they stayed alone with him until early in the morning or longer? Did she ever question the hours and days he spent away in service of the Silo? When Juliette is waving a gun in our direction. She tells him that she finds herself in the position, not by choice, mind him, and every day she feels like he works to undercut her.
He says Anthony needs to have memories of them. He admits she’s right. He’s late to getting this. It’s on him. He feels sorry. He knows it hasn’t been fair. She asks him why he suddenly minds the memories. Why he keeps saying that. He tells her that Juliette doesn’t remember her father. It’s not just that she doesn’t remember him. She says she has no feeling of the man. The man blew himself up for Juliette’s friends, and she couldn’t even tell Robert what it feels like to know her father.
Camille confesses it to Robert that she’s having barrels of Vitamin D hauled up to Water Filtration. It’s not her first plan, but depending on what happens in the next few hours. She’s willing to release it into the water supply. She’s assuming from his time working for Bernard. He knows what Vitamin D can do. He knows it’s the same thing she’s doing to Juliette. But lower and slower. So they don’t realize what’s happening until it’s too late.
She claims that she does it to save the lives of everyone in the Silo. She knows when it comes time, when she asks him to help her with it, he will do as they promised. He will do whatever he can to ensure their son lives on, so that one day he can make it out of the Silo alive. Even if that means forgetting them. The guy visits Camille. He reports it to her that Juliette has gone below the Gap. She asks him where’s Emerson? He says Emerson is contacting the trailing agents.
Robert asks Anthony to pack up his stuff. Anthony wishes his mother will join them. But Robert tells Anthony that it’s just them today till lunch. He wants to take him back to school. Anthony asks his father if he’s fine. Robert says yes. He thanks Gayle for taking care of his son. Anthony returns the toy to Robert. He mentions he gave him this to him so he wouldn’t feel worried. Robert hugs his son.
Below the Gap, Knox takes Juliette to see Mark. Mark mentions Juliette was Knox’s shadow, but he works for her now. Knox tells Mark that Juliette had a question about a criminal in the mines. Juliette says that she wants to ask about a guy who went into the mines. Mark tells the mayor that she’s wasting her time. People go into the mines, they don’t come out. She points out that he did it. She mentions Lukas Kyle. She asks him if he heard the name. But he says he doesn’t give names.
She brings up that Lukas is an IT worker, and he was sentenced. Mark doesn’t care what Lukas was sentenced for, he’s dead. But she denies it. She says Lukas survived and he got out. It’s because of something that he must have learned in the mines. So whether Mark knows Lukas or not, Juliette wants to know what he could’ve seen. Mark tells Juliette that the only things in the mines are metal ore and death. So, if her guy went in there and lived, it wouldn’t be because he learned anything. It’d be because he was lucky enough to get a job cleaning toilets.
It flashes back. Helen is driving the car. She asks Daniel if he wants to go to Rayburn. He tells her that they will go back to Steve. He understands what Steve said. But they need to get the recording. Because the people he works for need to know. What he means isn’t the shadowy creeps who fiance campaigns. She knows who he means.
At present, Camille walks in the hallway. Emerson reports it to Camille that Juliette just left Tool Fabrication with Knox. They spoke to Mark Chambers, head of department. Emerson doesn’t know why Juliette visited the guy. She can have Melissa speak to Mark. But Camille rejects it. Because she knows Mark wouldn’t tell anything to Juliette.
Knox feels sorry for not helping Juliette. She says that it’s fine. She will hold it against him for as long as she remembers. He tells her that he knows more about her than she knows about herself, but she still acts the same. She’s still her. She asks him if it’s a good thing. He tells her that there’s no one like her. Her fix of the generator is why these lights will be on for years to come. She nearly drowned doing it. She has been outside. She has done things and seen places no one else has even dreamed of. She looked up at the sky. Juliette notices that someone is tailing her. She takes Knox to flee into the alley.
Camille is in her office. She looks into Knox. She discovers he was in the mines. She’s not happy after knowing the bad news. She walks out of her office. Juliette gets rid of the trailing agent. She decides to go to look for Lukas Kyle. Knox tells her that the guy is dead. She asks him where’s the one place he would go if he wanted to disappear. He claims that he won’t take her to the mines. She says that she doesn’t ask him to do that.
Camille gets in the room. She asks his boss how far away are the other Silos? If Juliette got to one so quickly, it’s probably close. He says that location and proximity of other Silos isn’t something he will discuss. She points out that as Bernard’s shadow, Lukas would haven been told there were other Silos. He probably understood more than anyone why there are strict laws on how far they tunnel. Even if he was just thinking of the Silo Juliette went to, Lukas could’ve returned to the mines.
The boss tells Camille that if she believes Lukas might be in the mines digging horizontally in an attempt to make contact with another Silo, he strongly suggests severe precautions be taken immediately.
Camille walks out of the room. She asks Emerson to send a rat extermination team to the mines. They need an immediate fumigation. Emerson figures it out that it’s a code for something. Camille denies it. She orders Emerson to send fumigators with enough gas to fill the tunnels. But Emerson worries that there won’t be time to get everyone out. Camille points out that one of the rats might be Lukas.
The rat extermination team goes to the mines. They begin to do their job. Some people run out of the mines after they were hurt by the gas. Juliette and Knox arrive at the mines. They see it. Knox asks Juliette to stay there. He goes to look for Harwood. Juliette asks the guy what happened. He reveals exterminators released rat bombs. There’s no way everyone is getting out on their own.
Juliette wears a mask. She gets in the mines. She runs into the guy who’s coughing after he was affected by the gas. She gives the mask to him. She tells him that she can share the mask with him. But he beats her. He runs away with the mask.
Juliette walks forward without the mask. She passes out on the ground. Lukas carries her out of the mines. She wakes up and she recognizes him. Emerson shows up with her people. She asks the first squad to go after Lukas. Lukas flees. He gets in a room. He grabs a hammer to protect himself. Two guys save Lukas. Lukas doesn’t know who they are.
It flashes back. Daniel and Helen return to Steve’s house. But the place was robbed. Steve is missing.
At present, Sheriff arrives at the mines. The policewoman reports it to him that there’s a boy they pulled out, that’s not registered as a miner. One person no one can account for. Sheriff stops the two guys who are carrying the body. He checks the body. He finds out that the dead is Orla.
Juliette is taken to the hospital. Emerson walks into the ward. She asks the nurse if Juliette will live. The nurse doesn’t know. She tells Emerson that they need to keep watch on the door. Don’t let anyone in except doctors. Emerson leaves the ward. The nurse Amy takes a look at Juliette who’s in a coma in the bed.
Camille meets the boss in the room. He tells her that her decision and Juliette’s bravery has provided a unique opportunity. She has a chance to greatly increase her Silo’s survival probability by using the story of Juliette’s actions in the mines today to instill in her citizens a sense of calm and unity. She figures it out that he wants Juliette dead. He says the death of one person that spares the lives of 9,912 others without the use of Vitamin D.
He asks her if she considered why she was chosen to the Head of IT. She guesses it was because of her training as a raider. He denies it. He tells her that she was chosen because of her ability to lie. At its core, the job requires deception. 10,000 lives depend on it. Her actions during the rebellion, manipulating her husband, playing both sides, exhibited an ability to do what was necessary, despite any moral qualms. But her ability to maintain that kind of clear resolves has not always been 100 percent.
He mentions before Juliette was sent out to clean, Sheriff Nichols was a fugitive, hiding in Camille’s apartment, holding her and her son hostage. Even after Camille managed to get control of the gun, she let Nichols leave. He asks her why she did that. She explains it to him that she was afraid when raiders arrived, guns would be fired. But he knows she’s lying. She admits that she admired Juliette. Strange given the circumstance, but Juliette wanted the truth. Camille doesn’t know anyone in the Silo, at least not anyone interesting who doesn’t ask the questions Juliette was asking. She wanted to see what Juliette found out. She knows it was a mistake. Juliette is an existential threat. Camille wants to get rid of the threat and save the Silo.
