Kyeong-Se returns to his office in the evening in We Are All Trying Here episode 1. He sits in front of his laptop. He begins to write the script. The next day, he goes to a bar. His friend is surprised that he wrote a script again. Kyeong-Se tells his friend that there’s a Pressure Regulation Bureau in the nation. The responsibilities of the organization are taking care of the fools who cause inconvenience to the public. They kill them. But there’s a robust system behind the organization.

The system thinks more people are killed by the fools. They will provoke people when they speak. Their faces and laughter make everyone angry. The system watches everyone. Once someone reaches the tipping point, an alarm will sound.
Kyeong-Se leads the task force to break into Dong-Man’s house. They shoot the guy. At the bar, Kyeong-Se says that Pressure Regulation Bureau will announce that Dong-Man was cleared. Kyeong-Se came up with the story. Because Dong-Man made him unhappy.
It flashes back. Dong-Man and Kyeong-Se go to Director Choi’s restaurant. But Dong-Man refuses to drink the soup. Because he doesn’t like spicy food. So Kyeong-Se asks the chef to cook a little spicy. But Dong-Man gorges himself. He orders what he wants to eat when they go for another round. He keeps talking. Kyeong-Se is the one who likes to spread joy with funny stories. He will prepare punchline no matter where he goes. But he loses the power of humor when Dong-Man is there. Senior Park tells Kyeong-Se that he’s not like the person who will have a new movie. Kyeong-Se cannot explains it to Senior Park that Dong-Man made him upset.
Kyeong-Se is upset. So he replies that he worried that his movie wouldn’t be a box office hit. But Dong-Man hears it. His face lights up suddenly. He tells Kyeong-Se that he will be like him. He’s very happy.
Dong-Man wakes up at home. He gets dressed quickly. He goes out. He plans to make the landlord not notice him. But the landlord’s dog catches Dong-Man. He keeps barking. The landlord walks out of his house. He spots Dong-Man. He asks him to pay the management fee. He threatens him that he will break into his house and clear out his stuff.
At School of Creative Arts, the number of students is decreasing. Dong-Man’s colleague persuades Dong-Man to take his director friend to the school. But Dong-Man rejects it. He thinks Kyeong-Se shouldn’t come to the place. In the classroom, Dong-Man asks the students not to write the stories of the rich. Because poverty is a gift from God. But he doesn’t succeed even if he’s very poor.
Dong-Man leaves the school. He remembers he showed his watch to the students. It was outrage after the girl asked him why he didn’t succeed. He gets a call from the loan shark. The loan shark threatens Dong-Man that he will visit his cat.
At the restaurant, Young-Soo congratulates Kyeong-Se. He notices that Dong-Man isn’t at the gathering. They’re happy to drink. Dong-Man arrives. He keeps eating the food on the table. Young-Soo thinks it’s a war when Dong-Man eats the food on the plate. Dong-Man tells Young-Soo that he needed to watch bad movies while he complained. Young-Soo learns that Dong-Man was very busy. He notices the watch he’s wearing. Dong-Man reports to Young-Soo that Joon-Hwan almost killed him. Joon-Hwan told Dong-Man that his brother developed a watch. He needed a volunteer.
Joon-Hwan walks out of the room. He pays the bill. In the room, Dong-Man tells Young-Soo that Joon-Hwan promised him that he would get 400,000 won every month as long as he wore the watch. It was originally intended to be used for displaying the wearer’s emotional state. Dong-Man thought it was good. So he went to the company. He signed the agreement and swore the watch. An employee broken into when he learned how to use it. The employee said that something went wrong. He told Dong-Man that he wasn’t eligible.
Dong-Man claimed that the team leader of the development team was his friend’s brother. He came after the guy told him that he needed him. But the employee said that they needed a 40-year-old unemployed man. But Dong-Man wrote that he was a movie director. His heart pounded at that time. He didn’t expect that the word “unemployed” would make his heart racing.
Joon-Hwan returns to the room. Dong-Man tells the guy that he caused him to suffer humiliation. Joon-Hwan apologizes to Dong-Man. He thinks he messed it up. Dong-Man reminds Joon-Hwan that he wore it for 400,000 won. He swears that he will get him to wear it. Kyeong-Se points out that they have heard the story. He’s furious to walk out of the room. Ki-Ri tries to stop Kyeong-Se. He reminds him that he’s the lead role. So he cannot leave. But Kyeong-Se doesn’t want to bring trouble before the movie releases.
Young-So meets Ki-Ri and Seung-Tae outside the room. Young-So thinks Dong-Man wasn’t changed after he didn’t see him for a long time. Ki-Ri complains it to Young-So that they kept seeing the guy. Dong-Man was a teacher at a school. He didn’t earn one million every month. Young-So guesses the guy was creating. He thinks someone should persuade him. But Ki-Ri rejects it. He cannot bring himself to say it. Seung-Tae asks Young-So to go to persuade Dong-Man. He thinks Dong-Man won’t be hurt if the person is Young-So. But Young-So says that he will feel heartbroken if he does it.
Hye-Jin and Hyo-Jin walk out the room when Joon-Hwan takes care of Dong-Man. Hyo-Jin wonders if only she thinks Dong-Man is a pain to deal with. Dong-Man and Joon-Hwan leave the restaurant. Dong-Man apologizes to Joon-Hwan for bringing trouble to him. He promises him that he won’t be a burden soon. Joon-Hwan asks Dong-Man if he will go to the premiere. Dong-Man tells his friend that he won’t go if he doesn’t go. After all, he feels awkward when he gets along with others.
The next day. At Choi Film, Dong-Hyun throws the script at the desk. He asks Eun-A why she let him see it. He wonders which part attracted her. She says that there was a tear-jerking scene. But he couldn’t see it. She thinks if they move forward the scene that the protagonist begins to pull himself together. But he tells her that it cannot be saved. Because it’s the 12th draft. He throws the script into the trash can. He asks her to tell those guys that they won’t work with them. He thinks the script proves that they don’t deserve to write scripts. He asks those guys to hang the script on the wall. So they can check it when they’re shameless and want to write something.
Eun-A returns to the office with the script. Hyo-Jin complains it to the colleagues that Dong-Man reported the status in the group chat everyday. The guy sent thirty messages when she didn’t check her cell phone. He mistook that they wanted to know it. Ki-Ri points out that the guy did it because nobody cared for it. Hyo-Jin thinks Dong-Man doesn’t know he’s dead.
Dong-Hyeon shows up. He tells his employees that they’re not right. He asks them if he thinks Dong-Man can debut. He then asks them if Dong-Man will voluntarily leave the film industry. Dong-Man will continue to hang around there and pretend to be an industry insider. He continues to act all high and mighty because he knows nobody wants to offend him. He persuades them to cut ties with Dong-Man. He tells them that nothing will happen.
Eun-A meets her friend at the restaurant. She thinks Hyo-Jin shouldn’t have called Dong-Man zombie. Jin-Man returns home when the landlord is knocking at the door. The landlord flees after he saw Jin-Man. Dong-Man is watching a movie when Jin-Man gets into the house. Dong-Man is startled. Jin-Man thinks he didn’t have report it to Dong-Man before he came home. He asks him why he didn’t pay property management fees. He mentions he promised that he would pay it. Dong-Man yells at his brother. He claims that he will pay it. Jin-Man asks Dong-Man to go to work with him. But Dong-Man rejects it. Because his movie passed the review.
In the evening, Dong-Man runs into Eun-A on the street. He tells her that he would go to the roof to yell if nobody listened to him. She remembers she heard his yell when she was at home. He tells her that it will be related to him once his voice reaches something. She reveals she heard him calling Dong-Man. He tries to touch her. But he realizes that what he does isn’t right. He apologizes to her. She wants to read his script. She’s interested in it.
Eun-A returns home. She puts the lunch box into the sink. Her mother Su-Ja mistakes that Eun-A ate it up. She doesn’t know she bought a lunch box at the supermarket. She asks her to get her boyfriend to come home to eat. Eun-A claims that the guy is busy.
The next day, Dong-Man goes the film company to promote his movie. But things aren’t going very smoothly. He sees Gyeong-Se’s movie poster at the bus stop. He goes to the premiere to watch the movie. He thinks Gyeong-Se went through the motions at the restaurant. Jun-Hwan persuades Dong-Man to keep his voice down. But Dong-Man tells Jun-Hwan that he’s badmouthing Gyeong-Se if he does that. He thinks the actress Mi-Ran’s acting was very forced.
But Seung-Tae expresses that the movie was great. He tells Dong-Man that he shouldn’t have been angry. Seung-Tae is unhappy to walk away. Mi-Ran walks to Dong-Man with the glass. She sits with him. He recognizes her immediately after he saw the poster. She mentions he had serious reservations about her acting. She calls him big director. She asks him what movies he filmed.
Outside the restaurant, Mi-Ran is furious to get into her van. She thinks Dong-Man is a nobody. Hyo-Jin tells her friends that Dong-Man isn’t charming. Dong-Man laughs. He’s friendly to his enemies. Dong-Man runs on the street. He thinks he should prove himself through his breakdown. He trips.
The next day, Gyeong-Se’s mood is affected by Dong-Man’s words. His head is hit. Dong-Hyeon is in his office. He’s told that Gyeong-Se cannot come to the meet-and-greet. Dong-Man goes to Choi Film. Dong-Hyeon takes Dong-Man and Eun-A to his office. He gets Eun-A to review Dong-Man’s script. Eun-A tells Dong-Man that his protagonist isn’t tough.
Eun-A leaves Dong-Hyeon’s office. Dong-Hyeon asks Dong-Man why he fails after twenty years. He mentions nobody said it to him. So he does it. Dong-Man returns home to eat bun. He remembers Dong-Hyeon told him that he wasted twenty years. He took a look at his watch. It showed that he was hungry.
At the bar, Hyo-Jin complains that Dong-Man didn’t shut up. Eun-A scolds Hyo-Jin. She says that Dong-Man was afraid. She leaves the bar. She walks on the street. She wipes off her tears. Dong-Man watches the movie alone at home. He remembers Dong-Hyeon asked him to live a fulfilling and active life. Dong-Man tells Dong-Hyeon that he doesn’t have to please him.
