This is the recap for Chinese drama Truth or Dare: Episode 5. Xiao Wanzi is startled when Mei Shiqing is going to drink the soup. She takes the soup away and tells him not to drink it. Because it’s cold. He wonders why she gave it to him since it tastes bad.
Xiao Wanzi Stops Mei Shiqing from Drinking the Soup

Xiao Wanzi apologizes to Mei Shiqing and wants to get him a new soup. He asks her if she poisoned him. She denies and claims that they’re close because they’re wife and husband. He asks her why she robbed his soup. She tells him that she wants to drink the soup. She drinks up the soup. He asks her about the taste. She says that it’s pretty good.
Xiao Wanzi tells Mei Shiqing that there’s no problem in the soup. She explains that she wanted to taste it for him. He takes a look at the letter. He smiles and thinks there’s a problem on the princess. He spots Xiao Wanzi vomiting. The follower thinks the princess gets pregnant. Xiao Wanzi and Xiao Rou deny. Mei Shiqing wants to get a doctor for Xiao Wanzi. She rejects it.
Xiao Wanzi Realizes Second Madam is Very Evil
Xiao Wanzi thinks she’s very healthy. She tells Mei Shiqing that she just ate too many foods. She thinks she will be better once she vomits it. She jumps and tries to prove that she’s fine. But she trips. Xiao Rou tells Xiao Wanzi that she smelled Second Madam’s medicinal materials, and she found out they cannot be eaten. Xiao Wanzi thinks Second Madam is a bad woman.
Second Madam runs into Xiao Rou. She tells her that she came to see Xiao Wanzi because she heard Xiao Wanzi is sick. Xiao Wanzi shows up and praises Second Madam. Second Madam is surprised that Xiao Wanzi is there. She wants to get a doctor for her. Xiao Wanzi asks Second Madam what she gave her was medicine or poison. She reveals she vomited after she drank her medicine.
Second Madam Denies Her Sin
Second Madam tells Xiao Wanzi that she wouldn’t hurt her. She thinks the servant in the house took the wrong medicine. Xiao Wanzi thinks Second Madam wasn’t be careful. She adds that Mei Shiqing wanted to drink the medicine. Second Madam claims that she treats Mei Shiqing like her real son even if she didn’t gave birth to him. She thinks there would be a misunderstanding.
Xiao Wanzi tells Second Madam to take back her hypocritical face. She says that everyone knows that Second Madam and Mei Shiqing are enemies. She adds that nobody believes that she would give good medicine to Mei Shiqing. Second Madam asks Xiao Wanzi why she accepted her gift. She says that people will think they wanted to murder her husband.
Second Madam Threatens Xiao Wanzi
Xiao Wanzi thinks Second Madam has no shame. Second Madam tells Xiao Wanzi that she wanted to be a friend of her. But she doesn’t expect that she was nice to Mei Shiqing. She thinks she has nothing to talk to her. She walks away. Mei Shiqing spots the scene.
Xiao Wanzi takes a look at the gold hairpin Second Madam gave her. She tells Xiao Rou to return it to Second Madam. But Xiao Wanzi holds the hairpin. Xiao Rou tells Xiao Wanzi not to keep the hairpin. But Xiao Wanzi thinks it belongs to her, and swears not to do evil things for Second Madam.
Xiao Wanzi Cannot Resist the Temptation
Xiao Wanzi thinks the gold hairpin is very cute so that she doesn’t want to give it to Second Madam. Xiao Rou takes the hairpin in the end when Mei Shiqing visits. She tells him that she’s going to cook the porridge for Xiao Wanzi. He tells Si Heng to go to help Qiao Yun.
Mei Shiqing mentions he told her to stay away from Second Madam. He tells her to listen to him. She asks him if he doesn’t trust her. He admits it. She throws a fit to him, and claims that she wouldn’t drink the soup if she didn’t worry about him.

Mei Shiqing Questions Xiao Wanzi’s Intention
Xiao Wanzi thinks she should let Mei Shiqing to taste the bad feelings. She thinks he’s not the one who would feel grateful. He asks her why she didn’t dump the soup since she knew there was a problem in the soup. She claims that the point is that she saved him.
Mei Shiqing says that he told Xiao Wanzi not to accept the gifts of Second Madam. Xiao Wanzi is furious to complain to Qiao Yun that her heat is blind. She adds that Mei Shiqing cannot get a wife. But Qiao Yun points out that Xiao Wanzi is Mei Shiqing’s wife.
Xiao Wanzi Badmouths Her Husband
Xiao Wanzi thinks she’s not the real wife of Mei Shiqing. She thinks the girl will have bad luck if she gets married with Mei Shiqing. Qiao Yun tells Xiao Wanzi to lower her voice. She thinks she will get killed if people hear what she said.
Xiao Wanzi tells Qiao Yun that she misses her father. She feels regret for not running away with her father. Xiao Yun is against it. She tells Xiao Wanzi not to change her mind. Xiao Wanzi claims that she won’t break her promise. She says that she won’t accept her failure since she promised to keep the marriage of the princess.
Qiao Yun Tells Xiao Wanzi to Get the Trust of Mei Shiqing
Qiao Yun tells Xiao Wanzi to bear it. But Xiao Wanzi points out that Mei Shiqing doesn’t trust her. Qiao Yun tells Xiao Wanzi to get the trust of Mei Shiqing. Qiao Yun reminds Xiao Wanzi that she’s going to get salary. Xiao Wanzi tells Qiao Yun to leave the task to her.
Si Heng asks Mei Shiqing if he doesn’t forgive Xiao Wanzi. He thinks Xiao Wanzi didn’t intend to do that. Mei Shiqing reveals he suspects Xiao Wanzi’s identity. Xiao Wanzi runs to Mei Shiqing and tells him that she’s looking for him. She tells him that she wants to cook soup for him on her own.
