This is the recap for Netflix K-Drama My Name: Episode 5. Ji-Woo asks Gang-Jae for releasing her. She tells him that he cannot defeat her. He stares at her when he hugs her head. He stabs her leg with the knife. Gi-Ho returns to the office. Gun-Pyeong reports to him that he cannot contact Pil-Do.
My Name: Episode 5 Recap
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for Netflix K-Drama My Name: Episode 5.
Mu-Jin kills Cheol-Ho. He takes out the phone from his pocket. He gets a call from Gang-Jae who asks Cheol-Ho if he catches Mu-Jin. Mu-Jin greets Gang-Jae. Gang-Jae learns that Cheol-Ho got killed. He takes a photo of Ji-Woo and sends the photo to Mu-Jin.
Gang-Jae steps on Ji-Woo’s leg. She begs him to release Pil-Do. He kicks her away and shows off the knife in front of her. But he gets kicked by Pil-Do. Gang-Jae’s followers beat Pil-Do. Gang-Jae rushes to Ji-Woo when he holds her head. He tells her to say something. She tells him that she will take his life. He laughs and walks away.
Gang-Jae throws Ji-Woo and Pil-Do into the van. Ji-Woo’s hand gets tied up. Pil-Do wakes up when the crane lifts the van. He tries to untie Ji-Woo but he fails. The van is thrown into the machine. The machine begins to crush the car.
Pil-Do kicks the roof of the van and unties Ji-Woo. She tries to leave the van. But she fails. Mu-Jin drives the car to hit the machine. Ji-Woo is saved. She sees him when he gets off the car. She tries to walk to him. But he walks away because he notes that the police is going to arrive.
The machine begins to work again. Pil-Do untie himself. Ji-Woo kicks the machine and stops it. Gi-Ho takes the police officers to arrive at the factory. He stares at Pil-Do and Ji-Woo. Pil-Do asks Ji-Woo if she’s fine when Dae-Soo is going to take him away. She passes out.
Tae-Ju runs into the office after the doctor treated Mu-Jin. He asks his boss why he left alone. Mu-Jin tells Tae-Ju that Gang-Jae wanted to hurt Ji-Woo. Tae-Ju thinks Mu-Jin shouldn’t go to save the girl. Mu-Jin mentions Ji-Woo saved him even if she knew it would make the police know her identity.
Mu-Jin mentions Tae-Ju did nothing. He grabs his neck and asks him if he can believe in him. Tae-Ju apologizes to Mu-Jin. Mu-Jin walks away. Gi-Ho arrives at the gate of the emergency room. He wants to know how long Ji-Woo will leave the emergency room.
Pil-Do swears to catch Gang-Jae. But Gi-Ho tells Pil-Do to go home and take a break. Pil-Do walks to Gi-Ho with the cane. He yells at him that Ji-Woo got stabbed. Gi-Ho scolds Pil-Do. But Pil-Do tells Gi-Ho that he decides to believe in Ji-Woo.
Pil-Do walks to the ward and takes a look at Ji-Woo. He walks to Ji-Woo seeing the wound on her hand. The girl falls asleep. He goes to the nightclub asking the woman if she saw Gang-Jae. Cheol-Ho’s legs are tied by the chain. Tae-Ju’s follower pulls the chain and lifts the jerk up when another follower pours the cold water to him.
Cheol-Ho wakes up. Tae-Ju asks Cheol-Ho where Gang-Jae stays. Ji-Woo wakes up but she falls asleep. The thug tries to take out something from his car. But Pil-Do shows up in front of him. The thug tries to flee. But he gets caught. Pil-Do breaks into the room and tries to catch the other thugs. But the thug doesn’t want to surrender. Pil-Do points the gun at the thug’s head.
Tae-Ju goes to the nightclub to look for Gang-Jae. But he doesn’t find him. He reports it to Mu-Jin after he returned to his office. Mu-Jin tells Tae-Ju that he knows he worked hard. He ties his necktie and gets into the elevator with him. Mu-Jin thinks Gang-Jae is going to appear.
Ji-Woo calls Dong-Hoon when she’s on the beach. But he ignores her and walks to the sea. She wakes up from the nightmare, finding out that she’s in the ward. Pil-Do grabs her hands to calm her down. He tells her that he wanted to take revenge like her after his sister got killed. He promises to help her, and asks her for getting changed.
Pil-Do drives Ji-Woo to the restaurant. Dae-Soo is waiting for them. He takes the two to get into the restaurant. Dae-Soo drinks with Pil-Do. He tells Ji-Woo to eat the meat. Gun-Pyeong hands over the tea to Ji-Woo, and grills the meat for her. Tae-Ju takes a photo of them. He calls Mu-Jin and tells him that he saw Ji-Woo.

Mu-Jin hands over the passport to Su-Yeon. He asks her for finding a house on the beach for Ji-Woo. She walks away. He sees the photo which was sent by Tae-Ju. Ji-Woo returns home. She has a seat on the chair. Mu-Jin calls her and tells her to leave the police station. But she rejects it because she needs to find the truth of her father’s death case.
Mu-Jin reminds Ji-Woo that the police will know her identity if Gang-Jae gets arrested. But she hangs up and takes a look at the ashes pot. She arrives at the police station. Dae-Soo scolds Ji-Woo and thinks she should take a break. Pil-Do gives Ji-Woo five and tells her to go to take her gun. She greets Gi-Ho when he walks to her. But he’s cold.

Jin-Se shows up and calls Ji-Woo’s name. She recognizes him. He takes a look at her police id. He smiles and praises her in front of Gi-Ho. He gives his business card to her before he walks into the office. Gi-Ho asks Jin-Se about Ji-Woo. He tells him that he found Dong-Hoon’s gun.
Tae-Ju reports to Mu-Jin that Jin-Se went to see Gi-Ho. Jin-Se leaves the police station. He’s going to get in his car. But he sees Ji-Woo walking to him. She asks him why he fooled her. He tells her that Gi-Ho murdered his father. But he refuses to leak the detail. He drives away. Gi-Ho spots them.
Jin-Se goes to see Mu-Jin. He tells him that he knew what he did to Ji-Woo. He asks him for some money. Mu-Jin agrees to it and takes a look at his car. Jin-Se smiles to walk to the car. But Mu-Jin’s follower kicks Jin-Se and takes his life. Jin-Se gets thrown into the sea.
Ji-Woo goes to the nightclub. The guard reports it to Mango. Ji-Woo walks to Mango. He’s furious to ask her what she wants to get from him. She mentions he betrayed her. He explains that he was forced to do that. She tells him that she will report it to Mu-Jin that he helped Gang-Jae ruin his gym. She tries to walk away. But Mango keeps her.
Ji-Woo calls Mu-Jin and tells him that Gang-Jae wants to leave the nation. Gang-Jae calls Gi-Ho and tells him that he will help him arrest Mu-Jin if he supports him. Tae-Ju walks to Mu-Jin when he pulls out the knife. Mu-Jin tells Tae-Ju that he got the message from Ji-Woo.
Tae-Ju worries that Mu-Jin will get hurt. But Mu-Jin tells Tae-Ju that he trusts Ji-Woo. Tae-Ju wants to go with Mu-Jin. But Mu-Jin stops Tae-Ju. He tells him to replace him if he gets killed. Gi-Ho arrives at the place where Gang-Jae hides. He sees him calling someone. Mu-Jin comes. Pil-Do prepares to catch Mu-Jin.
Mu-Jin gets off the car. He tells Gang-Jae to leave his car. Gang-Jae does it. The thugs begin to fight with each other. Gang-Jae takes the thug’s life with the knife. He has a fight with Mu-Jin. But he gets defeated. He runs away. Mu-Jin chases Gang-Jae. Gi-Ho tells Pil-Do to catch the thugs. Pil-Do joins the battle.
Ji-Woo arrives. She parks her car and begins to run. Pil-Do spots her. She tries to shoot Gang-Jae. But she gives up the mind. Because she doesn’t want to hurt Mu-Jin. Mu-Jin defeats Gang-Jae. Gang-Jae asks Mu-Jin for his mercy. But he catches the chance to pull the knife. He stabs Mu-Jin. Mu-Jin collapses. Gang-Jae laughs and tries to kill Mu-Jin.
But Ji-Woo shoots Gang-Jae. She tells Mu-Jin to walk away. Gang-Jae thinks Ji-Woo is a silly girl. He tells her to kill him. But she doesn’t dare to do that. Mu-Jin tries to flee. But Gi-Ho stops Mu-Jin and points the gun at him. Tae-Ju drives the car to hit Gi-Ho. Gi-Ho avoids it but he trips. Mu-Jin catches the chance to get in Tae-Ju’s car. He flees.
Gang-Jae spots Pil-Do. He tries to tell Ji-Woo’s name to him. But he gets killed by Ji-Woo.
