Ren Anle thinks Han Ye knows her most. She thinks they’re best match. He reminds her that Huang Pu is a good chancellor. He takes her to see Huang Pu. Ren Anle knocks at the door when Huang Pu is eating. She tells him that she has looked for him after he opened the door.
Huang Pu tells Ren Anle that he doesn’t welcome a guest like her. But she tells him that Crown Prince came. Huang Pu is surprised to see Han Ye. He greets him. He lets him and Ren Anle in. Ren Anle walks into Huang Pu’s house. She’s surprised that his house is so simple.
Han Ye tells Huang Pu that Ren Anle thought he’s a talent. Ren Anle thinks Huang Pu isn’t like her who doesn’t know how to let someone speak. He claims that he wouldn’t beat the prisoner and make him confess. He goes to eat. Han Ye explains to Huang Pu that Ren Anle didn’t mean that.
Han Ye tells Huang Pu that Ren Anle wants to find the truth. Ren Anle thinks they can keep their positions if they find the scapegoat. Huang Pu is furious to ask Ren Anle if she knows that feelings that the student failed the exam.
Huang Pu mentions he got the position after he took the exams five times. He reveals he was replaced by those powerful men because he was a nobody. He tells Ren Anle that he intends to give up his position for the justice of those poor students.
Ren Anle doesn’t understand what Huang Pu said. She decides to go to look into the case on her own. She mentions the note was found from someone. She adds that the person is dead. Huang Pu thinks Ren Anle has no shame. He drives Ren Anle out of his house.
Huang Pu tells Han Ye not to get together with Ren Anle. He closes the door after Han Ye walked out of his house. Ren Anle walks Han Ye on the street. She mentions he just took her side. She thinks he treats her as his wife. He blames her for hurting Huang Pu.
Ren Anle agrees to what Han Ye said. She thinks she did it because she’s a water bandit. She thinks she will grown up fast if he can teach her a lot. But he thinks it will be a big plan to change her. Ren Anle doesn’t expect that there’s a good chancellor in Great Jing. She thinks she will make it if Huang Pu is there.
Yuan Shu wonders why Ren Anle offended Huang Pu since he’s a good chancellor. Yuan Qin thinks the drama will be real when Huang Pu hates Ren Anle. Ren Anle waves her whip. She tells the students that Emperor Han asked her to look into the case when Gu Qishan eats the meat.
Ren Anle asks the students about the person who cheated with Lin Cong. She threatens to whip them. Gu Qishan complains to Ren Anle that he cannot eat when there’s a lot of dust in the cell. She tells her follower to change the dishes.
The students want to eat the meat. Ren Anle tells them that they need to be hungry for several days if she doesn’t catch the culprit. She reminds them that they can go home if they find two scapegoats. The students think it’s a good idea. But they wonder where they got the scapegoats.
The follower reports to Huang Pu that Ren Anle let the students decide the culprits. Han Ye blames Ren Anle for interrogating like that. She mentions what she heard to do so when there’re rich men and powerful men involved. She thinks it’s very important to let the poor students be the scapegoats.
Ren Anle thinks Han Ye should know the principle since he has lived in the capital so long. But he thinks gentlemen shouldn’t do those things. But she doesn’t want to listen to what he said because she doesn’t want to offend Gu Yunnian.
Rem Anle complains to Han Ye that she wouldn’t come to the capital if she didn’t fall for him. She mentions nobody helped her. She feels wronged. He tells her that he will support her if she does something good. She leans on him and falls asleep.
Wen Shuo and Luo Mingxi see it. Han Ye lets Wen Shuo come to him. He gets Ren Anle to lean on Wen Shuo. Luo Mingxi is surprised that Ren Anle acted a fool well. He thinks there’s nobody putting her into his eyes. She thinks those people wouldn’t fear her if she acted so. She mentions the tragedy of Di family.
Luo Mingxi mentions there’re many people seeing Ren Anle flirting with Crown Prince. Ren Anle claims that she did it for the plan. She tells Luo Mingxi that she doesn’t need Han Ye. She thinks she can hold all of the chess steps on her own without Han Ye.

Huang Pu visits Ren Anle. He reports her that there’s only one student who doesn’t have the cheat sheet. He adds that the person is Gu Qishan. She laughs because she thinks the fire of Gu Yunnian wouldn’t burn them. He points out that it means Gu Qishan didn’t take part in the cheat even if he didn’t have cheat sheet.
Huang Pu thinks the people who had the cheat sheet because they were wronged. Ren Anle agrees to what Huang Pu said. She thinks she can end the case when she gets the confessions of two people. The officer reports to Ren Anle that the culprits are Wu Yue and Zhou Fu.
Ren Anle tells the officer to release the rest students. Huang Pu thinks the rich students worked together to wrong the poor students. She tells him not to worry about it because she thinks it’s their chance. Ren Anle goes to see Pei Zhan. She reports to him that the murderer is Wu Yue or Zhou Fu.
Pei Zhan is very happy. Ren Anle tells Pei Zhan to praise her in front of Gu Yunnian. He agrees to it because they’re partners. Lin Lang reports to Luo Mingxi that Gu Yunnian sent someone to Li Chongen House after he got the message from Pei Zhan.
Lin Lang thinks Gu Yunnian is going to follow Ren Anle’s plan to do something bad for saving his son. Luo Mingxi holds the fish. He thinks Li Chongen is going to make the wedding clothes for someone else. Yuan Qin reports to Ren Anle that Li Chongen killed himself.
Yuan Qin reveals Li Chongen left a letter to Emperor Han that he helped Wu Yue and Zhou Fu because they’re his relatives. Ren Anle thinks Gu Yunnian’s step is good. But she thinks her step is better than him. It flashes back. Huang Pu asks Ren Anle about her plan. She bows to him and asks him to work with her to act.
Ren Anle tells Huang Pu that she knows the pain of the people. She thinks his unbending will means the intention of the people in the world. She thinks he can get the justice he wants if he helps her. He thinks the unfair he saw can be repaid.
Ren Anle thinks Gu Yunnian will know what’s loss. She throws the piece to the board. Huang Pu tells Zhou Fu to confess because Li Zhongen has mentioned him. But Zhou Fu tells Huang Pu that the person wasn’t him. He doesn’t dare to speak it out.
Episode 4 of The Legend of Anle ends with Ren Anle telling Wen Shuo that she’s going to close the door to beat the dog. Gu Qishan is drunk to walk to Lin Lang. He tells her that he concealed it from his father to drink with her. She thinks Gu Yunnian won’t beat him because he’s the only son of Gu Yunnian.
