This is the recap for The Untamed Chinese Drama: Episode 40. Jin Ling asks Si Zhui why his standpoint is so weird because he comes from Lan sect which is very famous. He asks him if he wants to explain it for Wei Wuxian. But Si Zhui tells Jin Ling not to conclude before he knows what happened.

Jin Ling mentions Wei Wuxian killed many people at Qiongqi Path and No Night City. He thinks it’s the truth which cannot be dispute. He adds that Wei Wuxian got Wen Ning to kill his father and made his mom die. He says that he will never forget the revenge. The student stops Jin Ling and Si Zhui, and reminds them that the dishes are going to be cold.
The student tells Jin Ling that they have deeply friendship since they just came back from Death City. He thinks they shouldn’t have a fight because Jin Ling is going to return to Golden Stage. Si Zhui apologizes to Jin Ling and feels sorry for not thinking about it. He tells him to have a seat and worries about making Lan Zhan pay attention to it.
Lan Zhan shows up and asks the waiter for wine. The students are startled to return to their seats. Lan Zhan takes a bottle of wine and goes to upstairs. Si Zhui thinks he saw it wrong that Lan Zhan took wine.
Wei Wuxian opens the window. Wen Ning shows up and asks Wei Wuxian if what he saw is Jing Yanli’s son. Lan Zhan calls Wei Wuxian. It makes Wen Ning fall to the ground. Wei Wuxian tells Wen Ning to leave after he got up. Wei Wuxian is surprised that Lan Zhan brought wine to him. He thinks the wine is good after he drank it.
Wei Wuxian asks Lan Zhan to drink with him. Lan Zhan pours wine for Wei Wuxian and tells him that his older brother recognized him. He adds that Jiang Cheng knew who he is. Wei Wuxian thinks it’s nothing even if they knew it. He wonders how Lan Zhan recognized him. Lan Zhan says that he wonders why Wei Wuxian’s memories are so terrible as well.
Wei Wuxian drinks the wine and wishes himself to have bad memories. He pours wine for Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan tells Wei Wuxian to go to Golden Stage with him. He adds that it lacks head. Wei Wuxian learns that Lan Zhan suspects Jinguang Yao conceals Chifeng Zun’s head at Golden Stage. He thinks it proves their conclusion if the head is there. But he worries about Zewu Jun.
Zewu Jun shows up. Wei Wuxian greets Zewu Jun. Zewu Jun thinks Wei Wuxian was right, and asks the two to go to Golden Stage. He says that he won’t forgive Jinguang Yao if they find the evidence.
Wei Wuxian arrives at Golden Stage with Lan Zhan and Zewu Jun. They run into Jiang Zheng. Jiang Zheng mentions he never saw Lan Zhan in the light talk meeting. He asks him why he came. Lan Zhan doesn’t say anything. So Jiang Cheng asks Zewu Jun why he took a stranger.
Jinguang Yao shows up and tells Jiang Cheng that Jin Ling knew his fault. He adds that he feared and couldn’t eat because he worried he will punish him. He tells him to forgive Jin Ling because the kids are naughty. Jin Ling tells Jiang Cheng that Jinguang Yao can prove it for him that he didn’t have any appetite.
But Jiang Cheng points out that Jin Ling ate many foods because he looks good. Jin Ling sees Wei Wuxian and asks him why he came. Wei Wuxian says that he came to eat. Jinguang Yao stops Jin Ling and tells Wei Wuxian that the foods are enough.
Jinguang Yao tells Zewu Jun to go inside, and reveals he intends to prepare for them. He tells him to be easy because he came to his place.
Wei Wuxian walks in the hall and notes that the people look at him with weird eyes. He thinks the people knew Mo Xuanyu. He tells Lan Zhan that he has to pretend to be fool if they ask them strange questions which he cannot answer. He tells him that he worries that he will make him lose face. Lan Zhan tells Wei Wuxian not to offend the people.
Jinguang Yao holds his wife Qin Su’s hand walking into the hall. Qin Su is unhappy after seeing Wei Wuxian who wears a mask. Jinguang Yao tells people that the light talk meeting is going to begin. He tells them to enjoy the banquet. He stands up with Qin Su, and tells the guests to drink the wine.
Jinguang Yao is going to leave. Nie Huaisang runs to hug Jinguang Yao. He cries and asks him what he should do. He tells him to help him last time. But Jinguang Yao points out that he helped Nie Huaisang to resolve the case. Nie Huaisang cries more and tells Jinguang Yao that he has new trouble. He threatens to die if he doesn’t help him.
Jinguang Yao tells Qin Su to leave. He intends to get a place to have a talk with Nie Huaisang. Zewu Jin joins the two. Qin Su greets Lan Zhan and leaves. But she runs into Wei Wuxian. She ignores him. Wei Wuxian thinks the people of Jin family looked him with strange eyes, and wonders what Mo Xuanyu did. He intends to ask someone about it, and asks Lan Zhan to watch Jiang Cheng for him.
Wei Wuxian tells Lan Zhan to block Jiang Cheng if he wants to see him. Lan Zhan tells Wei Wuxian not to go far away. Wei Wuxian agrees to it and offers to meet at night. Lan Zhan tells Wei Wuxian to remember his identity.
Wei Wuxian arrives at the garden. Jin Ling runs to Wei Wuxian and asks him how he got in the place.
