Feng Qiwu summons the elder of Feng family Feng Yanshou to her palace. She tells him to buy a message about Feng Lanxi from Fountain Pavilion. Feng Yanshou thinks Feng Qiwu doesn’t have to use Fountain Pavilion’s power because he believes Feng Lanxi just used a trick to win the game.
Feng Yanshou admits that Feng Qiwu is good at knowing people. But she tells him that she hasn’t known Feng Lanxi’s real face. Ren Chuanyu asks Huang Niang why Feng Lanxi pretends to be weak. She reveals Feng Lanxi’s stepmother Baili Queen has wanted to kill him after his real mom passed away.

Zhong Li reports to Feng Lanxi that Bai Fengxi didn’t get the message because she went to Ma family’s castle. Feng Lanxi is surprised that Feng Qiwu wants to look into him. He tells Zhong Li that he intends to meet with Feng Qiwu at Lanyun Pavilion.
Bai Jiande thinks they cannot deal with Duanhun Sect without Ma family’s help. Bai Fengxi breaks into the chief of Ma family Ma Mengqi’s room. She tells him that Duanhun Sect wants to ruin his family. She tells him to work with them. He agrees to it.
Feng Chang visits Feng Lanxi. He tells him to be care of Feng Ju. Feng Lanxi gives the gift to Feng Chang. He thanks him for helping him. Feng Lanxi meets with Feng Qiwu. He asks her why she looked into him after she promised to keep the secret for him.
Feng Qiwu explains that she can only make a choice after she knows Feng Lanxi. She tells Feng Lanxi that she wants to follow him. The killers sneak into Ma family. But they get attacked. The chief killer tells Ma Mengqi that Ma family will be ruined. He takes his life.
Ma Mengqi thanks Bai Fengxi for helping him. But she worries that Duanhun Sect will take revenge. He claims that the city lord will send troops to help them. Bai Jiande decides to stay to help Ma Mengqi because he thinks the troops aren’t not enough to deal with Duanhun Sect.
Zhong Li reports to Feng Lanxi that Duanhun Sect sent ten men to Ma family. Feng Lanxi decides to go to Ma family because he worries about Bai Fengxi. But Zhong Li reminds Feng Lanxi that he needs to take part in the palace meeting.
Yong King mentions Huang Chao got the Xuanji badge. He asks the ministers what he should do. Feng Ju tells Yong King to attack Ji State. But Feng Lanxi is against it because he thinks other states will get the benefit from it.
