This is the Recap & Ending for Netflix K-Drama The Silent Sea: Episode 1. Ji-An wakes up from the spacecraft when the colleagues are taking care of Mr. Hwang. She takes a look at the outer space. Yun-Jae is told that the the spacecraft is going to fall because of the engines.
The Silent Sea: Episode 1 Recap

Ji-An takes off her seat belt. She falls to the floor. Yun-Jae goes to take care of her. He’s told that Mr. Hwang’s ribs are broken. The water reaches Ji-An. She gets up and looks at outside with Yun-Jae. The spacecraft has landed Moon.
The world is lack of water. So the government takes the water restriction method. It requires people to get water according to their levels. People begin to protest. Section Chief Kim takes the follower to see Ji-An. He reveals Ji-An used to a famous astrobiologist.
Section Chief Kim walks in Ji-An’s office. He sees her taking care of a tiger. The tiger roars when Section Chief Kim walks to Ji-An. She comforts the tiger. Section Chief Kim tells Ji-An that he’s going to give a mission to her. She’s not interested in it until he mentions Balhae Station.

Ji-An opens the box. The Silent Sea shows the medals of Won-Kyung to us. Ji-An pours the water into the bowl. The dog runs to her and drinks the water. She smiles to touch the dog’s hair, looking at the moon. She goes to the memorial and runs into Yun-Jae. He tells her to accept the mission. She doesn’t reply him and walks away when the team members join him.
Ji-An takes out her golden card to get water. Ga-Young notes it. She wants to be a friend of Ji-An. But Ji-An rejects it. Director Choi walks to Ji-An and greets her. Section Chief Kim tells the team members that they need to take back a sample from the moon. But he knows nothing about the sample.
Ji-An thinks they cannot achieve the goal if they don’t know what kinds of the substances are contained in the sample. Director Choi points out that’s why she summoned Ji-An.
It flashes back. Director Choi visits Ji-An and places the golden card on the table. She tells her that she doesn’t need to worry about the water. She adds that the golden card is the compensation of her sister’s death. Ji-An is furious to pour the water to the ground. The dog comes to lick the water from the ground. Ji-An tries to drive the dog away. But he doesn’t want to move at all.
Yun-Jae tries to leave the meeting room. Ji-An stops him and persuades not to accept the task because she thinks they all will get killed. But he points out that she needs to resolve the problems for them because she’s a scientist. So she decides to take part in the task.
Ji-An walks into the spacecraft and puts her luggage into the locker. Gi-Su shows up and greets the team members. But they don’t want to see him. Kim Sun complains that the co-pilot got replaced. But he drops the idea when Yun-Jae wants to fire Gi-Su.
Ji-An doesn’t know how to tie the seat belt. Gi-Su pulls the switch from her seat to help her. He notes that she’s nervous. So he throws the candies to her. He walks to Yun-Jae and greets him. Yun-Jae leaves the co-pilot seat to Gi-Su.
The spacecraft leaves Earth and arrives in the outer space. Yun-Jae is told that they’re going to reach the destination. The spacecraft begins to shake. Yun-Jae asks Kim Sun what happened. Kim Sun tells Yun-Jae that the locking bolt will ruin the engine. Yun-Jae tells Kim Sun to give up the engine.
The spacecraft crashes the moon and reaches the cliff. Yun-Jae walks to the gate and tries to open it. But the spacecraft turns over. The box falls and makes a big hole after it hit the spacecraft. Ji-An falls. Yun-Jae grabs her hand before she gets killed.
The team members leave the spacecraft. Ga-Young tells Mr. Hwang to hang in there when he sits on the rock to take a break. Ji-An looks around. Yun-Jae is told that they need to walk for a while to reach the Balhae Station. He turns around and sees the spacecraft falling off the cliff.
Yun-Jae and the team members are on the way to Balhae Station. Ji-An notes that Mr. Hwang cannot walk. She asks him about it. But he tells her to continue to walk. Yun-Jae sees the building of Balhae Station. He thinks they’re going to be saved.
The Silent Sea: Episode 1 Ending
Ga-Young tells Yun-Jae that Mr. Hwang is going to die if he cannot get the treatment. She finds out that Mr. Hwang is out of water. Yun-Jae mistakes that Mr. Hwang wants to drink water. So he asks the follower to give the water to Mr. Hwang.
But Mr. Hwang rejects the water. He begins to vomit blood and passes away in the team member’s arms. Ji-An sees Mr. Hwang holding the water. She runs to the Lunar Base with the team members. Because they will die if they cannot connect with the life support system before the oxygen runs out. Soo-Hyuk opens the gate before the team members get killed.
