“Stand By Me” is a new Chinese historical drama which comes out in 2021. The drama tells a story about a girl Cheng Ruoyu becomes the emperor Qi Yan’s protector after she was told that he’s a good person.

Summary
The follower reports to the prime minister Wang Yang that Chou Ziliang is taking people to catch him. Wang Yang flees from the secret tunnel. But Chou Ziliang is waiting for him. Chou Ziliang kills Wang Yang. His two granddaughters begin to flee. Qi Yan shoots them.
The light prince Qi Chen finds Wang Yang’s body. He covers his face with the black clothes. The follower reports to Qi Chen that there’s a alive girl.
Qi Yan becomes the new emperor. He’s going to pick the clothes he wants to wear. Chou Ziliang shows up and tells Qi Yan to wear the purple clothes. Qi Yan thinks Chou Ziliang is right. Chou Ziliang allows Qi Yan to wear the black clothes since he likes black color.
Chou Ziliang lets Qi Yan to take a look at the mirror. He thinks he’s aged. Qi Yan wants to get on knees to Chou Ziliang. But Chou Ziliang stops Qi Yan. Because he’s the emperor. Cheng Ruoyu defeats A Wu in the test. She goes to the wood in the evening, and spots the beautiful moon.
Qi Yan rides the house with his followers. Cheng Ruoyu’s eyes are fixed because she thinks he’s very handsome. But he shoots her. She gets caught after she avoided the arrow. Cheng Ruoyu pays her respect to Qi Yan because she knows he’s the emperor. But he tells the bodyguards to get rid of her.
Cheng Ruiyu tells Qi Yan that she belongs to Purple Clothes Department. She shows the badge to him. She adds that she’s the new sword holder. She thinks he saw her portrait. Qi Yan takes a look at her and thinks she’s very stupid.
Cheng Xi and Cheng Ruoyu go to see Qi Yan. Qi Yan announces that Cheng Ruoyu is the new sword holder. He hands over the Blue Light Sword to her. She promises to protect him and the nation. Cheng Ruoyu walks out of the palace with the sword. Chou Yanzhi stops Cheng Ruoyu and congratulates her.
It flashes back. Cheng Ruoyu asks Yan Xiu to give her a ride. But he says that he cannot make the decision. He tells her to ask Chou Yanzhi about it. Chou Yanzhi agrees to it after Cheng Ruoyu begs her. Cheng Ruoyu gets into the carriage. She tries to give the sweetmeat to Chou Yanzhi.

Episode 1
Chou Yanzhi ignores Cheng Ruoyu. Cheng Ruoyu notes that Chou Yanzhi is reading the book. She tells her that the girl will get rid of her enemy in the end. Chou Yanzhi glares at Cheng Ruoyu.
Cheng Ruoyu recognizes Chou Yanzhi. She thinks she was the kindness older sister. She spots her Heavenly Palace Umbrella. She realizes that she’s Chess Master. Cheng Ruoyu wants to thank Chou Yanzhi for giving her a ride. She holds her hand and intends to treat her a meal. Chou Ziliang stops the two. Chou Yanzhi leaves with Chou Ziliang.
Chou Ziliang plays chess with Chou Yanzhi. He asks her how she knew Cheng Ruoyu. She reveals she gave the girl a ride, and thinks Cheng Ruoyu isn’t her rival. But he thinks the girl just pretends to be weak. Qi Yan learns Cheng Ruoyu is Cheng Huaizhang and Cheng Xi’s niece. He tells the follower to look into the girl.
Cheng Huaizhang brings the pastries to Qi Yan. He reveals Queen scolded him after knowing Cheng Ruoyu is his niece. He gets on knees to Qi Yan, and tells him that he and Cheng Xi didn’t help Cheng Ruoyu to be sword holder. Qi Yan believes in what Cheng Huaizhang said. But he’s still disappointed in Cheng Ruoyu.
Qi Yan mentions what the previous sword holder Gongsun Jin told him that the sword will be evil if the emperor is evil. He wonders what kind of sword holder he will get since he killed his brother to get the throne. He thinks he has to be a good emperor, otherwise he will get hurt by the sword even if it’s sharp.
Cheng Huaizhang cries. He tells Qi Yan that the sword won’t hesitate even if he asks her to chop the world. Chou Ziliang hands over the Happiness Pill to Zhou Yanzhi. He tells her to let Qi Yan eat it. Cheng Huaizhang scolds Cheng Ruoyu and asks her where she went. He tells her that Chou Yanzhi has stayed in emperor’s palace for half an hour. Cheng Ruoyu explains that she went to take book for Qi Yan.
Chou Yanzhi spots Cheng Ruoyu. She asks Qi Yan to take the Happiness Pill. Qi Yan asks Chou Yanzhi why Chou Ziliang wants to force him since he has listened to his order. She asks him why he wants to keep the Purple Clothes Department. He says that Purple Clothes Department was set up by Empress. So he cannot disband it.
Chou Yanzhi tells Qi Yan that he will be happy after he takes the pill. She tells him that she has to get Chou Ziliang to do it on his own. Cheng Ruoyu shows up and asks Qi Yan for reward. She reveals she extinguished the fire of the side palace. She drinks up the medicine and passes out.
Cheng Huaizhang takes care of Cheng Ruoyu. He wants to invite a doctor. But Qi Yan tells Cheng Ruoyu not to pretend to be sick. She opens her eyes and pays respect to him. She tells Cheng Huaizhang that she didn’t drink the tea. She thinks she did a great job.
But Qi Yan thinks Cheng Ruoyu was very stupid. Cheng Xi shows up. Cheng Ruoyu tells Cheng Xi what she did. But Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu to ask for Qi Yan’s mercy because she thinks she ruined his plan. Cheng Ruoyu apologizes to Qi Yan. He tells her that he only gives her one chance.
Cheng Xi gets on knees to Qi Yan. She thinks it was her fault. He helps her get up, and praises her for giving the new sword holder to him. She knows he doesn’t like Cheng Ruoyu. She tells him that the girl is loyalty to him. He remembers the follower told him that Cheng Ruoyu is an innocent girl.
Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she took the poison out of her body. She adds that she cannot use martial arts within half a year. Cheng Ruoyu mentions what she said that she wasn’t poisoning. Cheng Xi ignores Cheng Ruoyu, and feeds her the medicine. She tells her that the medicine will help her act.
Yan Xiu reports to Chou Ziliang that Cheng Ruoyu cannot use martial arts within half a year. But Chou Ziliang thinks the medicine wouldn’t work immediately. Yan Xiu tells Chou Ziliang that the medicine worked because Cheng Ruoyu drank many medicines before.
Chou Ziliang learns that Cheng Ruoyu broke his plan by mistake. He wonders if she pretended to be silly. He takes a look at Chou Yanzhi. She says that she wants to get punished for wasting the medicine. He tells her to stand up because she ruined the wing of Purple Clothes Department. She thinks they don’t have to control Qi Yan with poison.
Episode 2
Qi Yan wipes his bow and remembers Cheng Xi told him to take action. Cheng Huaizhang brings the foods to Qi Yan. But Qi Yan doesn’t want to eat. He mentions what his teacher said that the bane of the Morning Dew Rebellion was Li Xu and Zheng Lu’s selfishness. He adds that Li Xu intended to get rid of Zheng Lu for contribution.
Qi Yan thinks his brother trusted two jerks so that he was caught by Chou Ziliang. He asks Cheng Huaizhang if he will trust him and his sister. Cheng Huaizhang tells Qi Yan that he’s not like Li Xu and Zheng Lu. Qi Yan tells Cheng Huaizhang that he needs to think about Cheng Xi’s suggestion.
Qi Yan grabs his bow tightly after Cheng Huaizhang left. He tells himself that it’s not the right time. He decides to continue to bear it.
Cheng Ruoyu has a nightmare that Qi Yan hunts her in the woods and he shoots her. She wakes up from the nightmare, and feels dizzy. She wonders how she will protect Qi Yan since she cannot use martial arts within half a year. Chou Yanzhi visits Qi Yan. She reminds him that he cannot resist the thunderbolt anger of Chou Ziliang. She adds that Chou Ziliang intends to honey-trap on him. She invites him to hunt.
Qi Yan asks Cheng Huaizhang to tell Cheng Ruoyu to get changed. Cheng Ruoyu is surprised to see Chou Yanzhi. She asks her about Qi Yan. Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that Qi Yan left. She asks her if she has enough power. Cheng Ruoyu claims that she has enough power to protect Qi Yan.
Chou Yanzhi laughs because she thinks Cheng Ruoyu cannot hunt. Cheng Ruoyu tells Chou Yanzhi that she will promise her one thing if she gets more preys than her in the hunting game. Chou Yanzhi agrees to it. The two girls go to see Qi Yan. They tell him about about their plan. He thinks it’s a great idea.
Cheng Ruoyu takes the bow from the bodyguard. She thinks she’s going to win. She walks away. Chou Yanzhi asks Qi Yan if he actually wants to keep the sword holder who leaves him on her own. He asks her if he needs to keep her. Cheng Ruoyu is setting up the trap to catch the rabbits. Qi Yan shows up from her back, and calls her name.
Cheng Ruoyu blames Qi Yan for making her preys run away. He points out that there’s no any prey, and thinks she didn’t respect him. She tells him that she didn’t intend to offend him. He stares at her and thinks she can only see leopard via pipe. She thinks he wants her to guess the overall situation through the points.
Cheng Ruoyu runs into Chou Yanzhi. She finds out that she got the men of Chess Camp to help her. Chou Yanzhi thinks it was Cheng Ruoyu’s negligence not to take followers. She tells her to use her followers as a chief. She thinks she’s going to lose. But Qi Yan doesn’t think so. He tells Cheng Ruoyu to use bow instead of trap.
Qi Yan holds Cheng Ruoyu’s hand. He hands over the arrow to her after he saw the prey. He hugs her and helps her hunt the fox. Qi Yan reminds Chou Yanzhi that they came to hunt foxes. Cheng Ruoyu thinks Chou Yanzhi is going to lose. But the follower arrives with the foxes. Chou Yanzhi reveals she exchanged the preys they hunted with the merchant.
Chou Yanzhi reminds Cheng Ruoyu that she should make the promise. Cheng Ruoyu decides to disappear forever. Chou Yanzhi stops Cheng Ruoyu. She thinks she can do the thing. Chou Yanzhi begs A Wu to embroider for her. Cheng Xi is surprised that Chou Yanzhi only asked Cheng Ruoyu to embroider.
Cheng Ruoyu thinks Chou Yanzhi wanted to make her feel embarrassed. She adds that she learned from the woman that she can get the followers to do that when she cannot complete the task. A Wu glares at Cheng Ruoyu. Cheng Ruoyu explains that it will be better if she can let her best friend complete the task. A Wu laughs.
Qi Yan asks Chou Yanzhi if she wanted to teach Cheng Ruoyu with the hunting. She tells him that the one she wanted to teach was him. She adds that people wish to get a good emperor who can help them live better. She says that she wishes to support a good emperor. But he doesn’t believe in what she said.
Cheng Ruoyu throws the handkerchief to Chou Yanzhi. Chou Yanzhi thinks Cheng Ruoyu got someone to embroider it. Cheng Ruoyu asks Qi Yan if Chou Yanzhi forces him not to go to the court. He tells her that he doesn’t want to go to the place because he thinks he can do nothing.
Qi Yan asks Cheng Ruoyu what she will do as a prey. She thinks she should kill the hunter with just one hit when he’s exhausted. She helps him avoid the arrow. Yan Xiu tells Chou Yanzhi that he got someone to interrogate the bodyguards when he eats the noodles. He thinks he will get the answer soon. He tells her not to be nervous.
Chou Yanzhi points out that the assassin’s goal was to wrong her. She tells Yan Xiu to give the answer to her soon, and asks him to go out to eat. Cheng Ruoyu thinks the murderer was Chou Yanzhi. Qi Han hands over the arrow to Cheng Ruoyu. She finds out that the killer didn’t intend to kill Qi Yan.
Qi Yan reminds Cheng Ruoyu that Chou Ziliang would get benefits if he was hurt. She wants to give Chou Ziliang a lesson since they got the answer. But Qi Yan stops Cheng Ruoyu because the answer is too obvious. He thinks Chou Ziliang could do it in front of him if he wanted to hurt him.
Cheng Ruoyu realizes that the person’s goal was to wrong Chou Yanzhi. Qi Yan takes a look at the arrow. He thinks the arrow belongs to Chou family if he tracks down the arrow. Yan Xiu reporters to Chou Yanzhi that the killers was dead because they ate mouse medicine.
Chou Yanzhi goes to see Qi Yan. She offers to visit Hengan City. Cheng Ruoyu thinks it’s a great idea. She wants to eat Biangbiang noodles with Qi Yan. Cheng Huaizhang arrives at the court. He tells the ministers to leave because Qi Yan has a business. Chou Ziliang laughs. He gets the follower to take away the papers.
Episode 3
The killers break into the restaurant when Qi Yan is eating noodles. Cheng Ruoyu and Chou Yanzhi fight with the killers. Cheng Ruoyu gets defeated because she cannot use martial arts. Yan Xiu shows up with his followers. The killers flee.
Cheng Ruoyu asks Chou Yanzhi if the killers aren’t really related to her. Chou Yanzhi talks back why the killers knew the restaurant. Qi Yan stops the two girls. Cheng Ruoyu asks Cheng Xi for the medicine to cure her illness because she wants to protect Qi Yan.
Cheng Xi gives the medicine to Chou Yanzhi. She tells her that she will be fine after three days. She asks her not to leave the palace within the days. She tells her not to trust Chou Yanzhi, and thinks the girl set a trap to get the trust of Qi Yan.
Yan Xiu thinks Purple Clothes Department directed a drama to get the trust of Qi Yan. He thinks Qi Yan is an enemy to Cheng Xi because Qi Yan betrayed the previous emperor to get the throne. He adds that Cheng Xi wants to make Qi Yan have feelings for Cheng Ruoyu so that she arranged the assassinations.
But Chou Yanzhi wants to see the evidence. She asks Yan Xiu if he has any clue. He tells her that the weapons came from Genius Troops. He thinks Chou Ziliang will get angry if he knows it. Chou Yanzhi thinks the case wasn’t done by Purple Clothes Department.
Yan Xiu agrees to what Chou Yanzhi said. Because he thinks Cheng Xi wouldn’t be reckless. Chou Yanzhi thinks the person behind the scene wants to do a big thing.
Gao Ping reports to Qi Yan that Chou Ziliang wants the girls of Purple Clothes Department to dance in his birthday party. But Cheng Ruoyu tells Gao Ping to invite dancers instead. But he mentions the previous sword holder Gongsun Jing danced in the Qianfeng Festival. She scold him and thinks the emperor and the servant are different.
Qi Yan tells Gao Ping that he will prepare it. Cheng Ruoyu asks Chou Yanzhi if she gave the idea to Chou Ziliang. Chou Yanzhi reminds Cheng Ruoyu that Gao Ping will report what she said to Chou Ziliang. Cheng Ruoyu claims that she doesn’t fear Chou Ziliang at all. But Chou Yanzhi points out that Qi Yan fears Chou Ziliang.
Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she will get Cheng Xi to prepare the dancing for Chou Ziliang if she’s smart like her. Cheng Ruoyu tells Cheng Xi about Chou Ziliang’s demand. But she thinks she has other methods. Cheng Xi points out that they have no choice as long as Chou Ziliang takes the military leadership of Genius Troops.
Cheng Ruoyu wonders how Qi Yan stood it. She complains that there was nobody saying something. Cheng Xi reveals the people were killed in the rebellion. Qi Yan walks out of his palace. He remembers what his teacher told him that the path he is going to walk is a sinner path, and he cannot achieve his dream if he doesn’t take those things. He told him to think about Morning Dew when he cannot bear it.
Cheng Ruoyu tells Cheng Xi to kill Chou Ziliang when they dance for him. She thinks it’s worth of getting peace with her death. Cheng Xi scolds Cheng Ruoyu because she tried her best to save her. She tells her to give up the mind of revenge, and takes back the antidote.
Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she can only waste her life. She adds that she will give Chou Ziliang a chance to get rid of Purple Clothes Department. She tells her to go to practice dancing. Cheng complains to Li Rong that Cheng Ruoyu wanted to sacrifice herself like Jing Ke. Li Rong comforts Cheng Xi that Cheng Ruoyu would understand her if she didn’t lose her memories.
Cheng Xi points out that she wouldn’t get hurt if killing Chou Ziliang is so easy. She thinks the only one who can get rid of the jerk is emperor. Cheng Ruoyu has a nightmare that Qi Yan shoots her. She wakes up from the nightmare. She wonders why Qi Yan wanted to kill her for Chou Ziliang.
Chou Ziliang arrives at the Purple Clothes Department to watch the sword dancing. He thinks Cheng Ruoyu is a talented girl but he feels regret because she belongs to Purple Clothes Department. He tells Chou Yanzhi to find a way to get Purple Clothes Department.
A Wu takes the sword to rush to Chou Ziliang. She intends to kill him. But Cheng Ruoyu grabs A Wu’s sword and stops her. Yan Xiu runs to kick A Wu away. He keeps beating her with his sword. Cheng Ruoyu stops Yan Xiu’s sword and tries to stop him. He stops beating A Wu after the bodyguards rushed into the palace.
Yan Xiu asks A Wu who got her to do that. She confesses that it was Qi Yan. Cheng Qi gets on knees and asks for giving A Wu to her. But Chou Ziliang worries that Cheng Xi will get rid of A Wu. Cheng Xi promises not to help A Wu. Chou Ziliang tells Qi Yan to let Chou Yanzhi interrogate A Wu. Cheng Ruoyu wants to join Chou Yanzhi. Chou Ziliang agrees to it. Cheng Ruoyu passes out after he left. Cheng Xi tries to wake Cheng Ruoyu up.
Cheng Xi visits Qi Yan when he’s wiping his bow. She tells him that she didn’t know Guan Wu is a assassin. He tells her to leave because he thinks she can do nothing. Cheng Ruoyu visits Guan Wu in the jail. Yan Xiu wants to torture Guan Wu after knowing she’s going to die.
Cheng Ruoyu thinks Yan Xiu is a beast, and swears to stop him after he told her the torment methods he knew. But he points out that she cannot decide it. Chou Yanzhi hands over the painkiller to Cheng Ruoyu, and tells her to feed Guan Wu the medicine.
Cheng Ruoyu walks to Guan Wu and asks her for telling her the truth. But Guan Wu only wants to die. Qi Yan arrives. Cheng Ruoyu feeds Guan Wu the painkiller. She asks her if she really wants to get Purple Clothes Department involved. She thinks she did it for revenge. Cheng Xi puts the books into the stove. She blames Guan Wu for betraying her.
Episode 4
Cheng Ruoyu visits Inner Bank. Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she and Zheng Wu’s files was changed by someone. Cheng Ruoyu reports it to Cheng Xi. But Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she and Zheng Wu’s files don’t have any problem. She tells her not to be close to Chou Yanzhi.
Li Rong joins Cheng Xi. She thinks it will be fine if Cheng Ruoyu doesn’t get involved. Cheng Xi thinks Chou Yanzhi is very sly. Chou Yanzhi finds out that most of the girls who left Purple Clothes Department were raised by Qi Yan. Yan Xiu tells Chou Yanzhi to play chess with Chou Ziliang.
Cheng Ruoyu reports to Qi Yan that she’s looking into the case with Chou Yanzhi. He asks her if she wants to unite with Chou Yanzhi. She denies. He’s furious to kick the bookshelf. He tells her that the case is ended. But she refuses to end the case, and asks him what he’s fearing. She adds that she cannot protect him if she doesn’t know who is the enemy. She thinks it’s her duty as his sword holder.
But Qi Yan tells Cheng Ruoyu that she’s not his sword holder anymore. She tries to stop him but takes off his sleeve. He asks Cheng Huaizhi to kick Cheng Ruoyu out of the palace. Cheng Ruoyu throws away the sleeve. She’s furious to leave.
Cheng Ruoyu packs her stuff. Li Rong stops Cheng Ruoyu. She wants to wait until Cheng Xi persuades Qi Yan. Li Rong asks Cheng Ruoyu if she actually wants to abandon them. Cheng Ruoyu feels sorry. Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she worries about it after she cannot be the sword holder.
Cheng Ruoyu tells Cheng Xi that she doesn’t want to be sword holder at all. She comforts her that she will be back with her talent. Cheng Xi hands over the medicine to Cheng Ruoyu. She thinks she needs it to protect herself. Cheng Ruoyu asks Cheng Xi for letting her look into Zheng Wu’s case. Cheng Xi agrees to it.
Cheng Ruoyu asks Cheng Xi to return the Blue Light Sword to Qi Yan. But Cheng Xi tells Cheng Ruoyu to keep it. Cheng Ruoyu visits Aunt Cai. Aunt Cai invites Cheng Ruoyu to get into her restaurant. Yan Xiu spots it and reports to Chou Ziliang that Cheng Ruoyu was kicked out of the palace. Chou Ziliang thinks Qi Yan wants to use the blade of Chou Yanzhi.
Cheng Ruoyu sneaks into the house which Zheng Wu stayed. She spots the man in black’s foot. She drags him out of the curtain with the cloth. She asks him who he is after she put his sword on his neck. But he puts the Blue Light Sword on her neck. She wonders why he knew how to use Blue Light Sword. He thinks Blue Light Sword is scrap iron when she takes it.
The man in black takes Cheng Ruoyu to hide when he spots the bodyguards. He thinks her sword art is terrible after the bodyguards left. She learns that he is going to see her again. She tells him that she will defeat him. He returns Blue Light Sword to her.
Qi Yan asks Cheng Huaizhi about his niece. Cheng Huaizhi reveals Cheng Ruoyu went to sell wine. But Qi Yan doesn’t believe in what Cheng Huaizhi said. Chou Yanzhi holds the ribbon and thinks it belongs to Cheng Ruoyu. Yan Xiu wonders why the ribbon appeared on Qi Yan’s shoe.
Chou Yanzhi thinks the one Cheng Ruoyu saw was Emperor. Cheng Ruoyu thinks the one who saved Zheng Wu was the man in black. She tries to chase the bodyguard after she saw him. But she’s stopped by Qi Yan. She wonders why he came to the West Market. She mocks him that he’s the emperor who doesn’t need to work.
Qi Yan tells Cheng Ruoyu that he came to eat noodles, and asks her about Aunt Cai. She tells him that Aunt Cai isn’t there, and asks him to leave. He tastes the wine and finds out that it was added water. He wants to close the store. She stops him and explains that she added water into the wine.
Qi Yan asks Cheng Ruoyu if she actually wants to trick emperor. He tells her that he wants to kick her out of Hengan City. He adds that it was the grace that he didn’t kill her. She tells him to kill her because she’s going to look into the case of Zheng Wu. She says that she doesn’t fear death.
Qi Yan decides to punish Cheng Ruoyu. But he spots some men in black breaking into the house. Yan Xiu reports to Chou Ziliang that Qi Yan got attacked after he met with Cheng Ruoyu. Chou Yanzhi thinks they will know if Qi Yan will betray them or not soon.
Episode 5
Cheng Ruoyu follows the bodyguard and finds out that he got into the house after he climbed over the wall. She climbs over the wall like him, and spots him passing out on the stairs. The bodyguard is saved by his friends. Cheng Ruoyu learns that it’s the palace of Chess Camp. She goes to the rooftop and spots the man in black. He tries to take a look at the inside of the house after he took away the tile.
Episode 6
Chou Yanzhi visits Cheng Ruoyu and tells her that Aunt Cai passed away. Cheng Ruoyu thinks Chou Yanzhi killed Aunt Cai. Chou Yanzhi points out that she didn’t want to old woman to die because she didn’t get what she wants. Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she wants to know who killed the assassin.
Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that the one who killed Madam Cai hides in the Yuzhen store. She tells her to find the assassins, and thinks the assassins are related to Zheng Wu.
Episode 7
Cheng Xi tells Qi Yan that everything was arranged by Chou Yanzhi. But he asks her what she wanted to do to raise the assassins. She gets on knees and asks him for punishing her. He tells her to let Cheng Ruoyu take over Yuzhen sect.
Qi Yan tells Cheng Xi that Cheng Ruoyu is the real sword holder now. Cheng Xi offers to let Qi Chen treat Cheng Ruoyu. Qi Yan agrees to it. But he wants to take Cheng Ruoyu to see Qi Chen on his own. Qi Chen treats Cheng Ruoyu and tells Qi Yan that the flower is named Buddha Smiling.
Episode 8
Chou Yanzhi congratulates Cheng Ruoyu on getting her position back. She thinks she helped her come back. Cheng Ruoyu points out that Chou Yanzhi got what she wanted. She mentions she let Qi Yan know Yuzhen sect. Chou Yanzhi claims that she wanted to help Qi Yan, and thinks Cheng Xi isn’t a good woman.
Cheng Ruoyu asks Chou Yanzhi if she wanted use Qi Yan to kill her aunt. Chou Yanzhi denies. She tells Cheng Ruoyu that she wanted to promote her. Cheng Ruoyu points out that Chou Yanzhi wants Qi Yan to be the puppet of Chou Ziliang.
Chou Yanzhi tells Cheng Ruoyu that she’s interested in the Third Person. She asks her to unite with her. Cheng Ruoyu rejects it because she and Chou Yanzhi take a different paths. Chou Yanzhi thinks Cheng Ruoyu will need her one day. Qi Yan takes out the handkerchief from the drawer. He takes a look at the handkerchief.
It flashes back. Qi Yan wakes up the girl. He tells her that the man Zheng Tian will take her to join the troops of her father. She asks him why he saved her. He mentions what her father told him the point which is behind heart. She says that she wants to take revenge because her parents are dead. He tells her that she has the chance when she’s alive.
Qi Yan confesses that he used the method to kill three people. He wonders the rest two people’s endings. He tells them to take revenge for him if they’re alive. Cheng Ruoyu shows up when Qi Yan is shooting the candle. She avoids the arrow and greets him. She tells him to take a break because his left hand is just cured.
Qi Yan tells Cheng Ruoyu that he was going to hunt. She thinks she delayed his business. He tells her to go to rest. She asks him if he wants to go out of the palace. She tells him to give the tasks to her. She tells him to teach her the martial arts, and asks him if he needs a chess army.
Cheng Ruoyu mentions Chou Yanzhi wanted to unite with her. She regrets for rejecting Chou Yanzhi, and thinks she can take the chance to ruin Chess Army. She brags that she’s the first place of Purple Clothes Department. She thinks they don’t have to get bullied because they have 300 killers.
Qi Yan tells Cheng Ruoyu to go back to sleep. He tries to kick her out. But he trips. He has to take her hand and make her fall with him. She kisses him by mistake. Cheng Huaizhang shows up and spots the romance scene. He reminds Cheng Ruoyu that Qi Yan needs to rest. Cheng Ruoyu apologizes to Qi Yan. She runs away.
Chou Yanzhi visits Qi Chen and asks him why he gave Buddha Laughing to Right Horse. He explains that he wanted to give the stuff to Chou Yanzhi. He asks her if she liked the gift. But she thinks it’s not gift when it makes people to panic.
Qi Chen thinks Chou Yanzhi will use the stuff to turn panic into happiness. But she tells him that she won’t let him get what he wants. Because she knows that she wants to use her to get rid of Right Horse. But he points out that the one who wants to get rid of Right Horse is Chou Yanzhi.
Chou Ziliang holds the Buddha Laughing and asks Right Horse if he knows his fault. He throws the Buddha Laughing to the floor and breaks it. Right Horse tries to fix the Buddha Laughing. But he gives his mind and pays his respect to Chou Ziliang. He tells him that he didn’t betray him, and stabs himself with the piece of the flowerpot. He passes away.
Chou Yanzhi tells Chou Ziliang that the one who’s poisoning by Buddha Laughing doesn’t know it. She thinks Qi Chen is too evil, and wants to get rid of him. But Chou Ziliang stops Chou Yanzhi because he needs to deal with Qi Yan.
